Okay, so this lady called me from a Hobbs, NM phone number and gives me this number from California to call her back on about a debt that I know nothing about. She did not state her name or anything. She just says "this is intended for __________ and spouse" which was weird. And tells me to call her back. Seems unreal.

Some girl named Kristen called and said she needed to talk to me, and I asked her what it was regarding. And she said its a legal matter involving my social security number and she needed a statement from me. But she had no last name and she couldn't tell me my last name. Fraud.

A "Kristen Taylor" called my husband saying that he had a debt with Sprint for a long distance service, from 10 years ago! Problem is he has never had an sprint contract in his life, she wanted him to pay $250

The acronym is likely for Debt Recovery Solutions. A debt collector waving a vague phrase like ''filing papers'' is trying to make a legal threat without actually making that threat. It's a threat by perception, which can get you arguing in circles over a FDCPA claim. The ''paper'' could be a simple dunning letter and not a court pleading. But of course you don't know that, and plain consumers are granted a ''least sophisticated'' standard of comprehension, which opens DRS to liability.

Blanca's call ''around 9PM'' had best be before that time. By default, collection calls past 21:00 in your time zone also violate FDCPA.

I too got the same phone call from same number left message saying that they were filing paper work & that I might not even know what was going on but to get in contact with them first of all it was around 9pm on a weekday. I called back said something about DRS & that extension was busy to leave message..

Left my grandma a message saying they will be filing paper against me when I called it back it went to an automated system. Sounds very fishy to me. When I called all they said was thank you for calling DRS and a representive will be with you shortly. No one answered.
