Who Called Us

Said they were from Plymouth Police wanting to do fundraising... If they're from Plymouth why is the number from Maine and caller ID was East Coast Group??

This is a follow-up to my original comment. I have received a few calls from this group displaying numbers in the same block. Two other numbers that they have used are 207-591-2055 and 207-591-1065. I called them back after the last call to find out who they are. Apparently this is a telemarketing firm located in Westbrook Maine. They specialize in fund raising campaigns. In this particular case they were asking for donations for the local ambulance service so they could purchase equipment such as a powered lift stretcher. This would be an unusual method for the local volunteer ambulance service so I sent an email to the town manager to see if this was authorized as this service is supported by local taxes. So far no answer.

Tried calling the number and didn't get an answer. There is an East Coast Marketing Group in Westbrook but the phone number prefix is different. There is also a Portland Marketing Group in Westbrook that does have the same prefix but their main number shows as 591-1500. Either way it looks like telemarketing of some sort. Guess I will have to try to find them when they are open so I can get enough information for an FTC complaint. Of course they could be calling for a politician or other charity.
