I am guessing this is Verizon, I did not answer but thanks to this forum I think it is a good guess! I hope this does not continue or I will be dumping Verizon.
This was a call from an outside service provider for Verizon Wireless. All they were doing was asking about how their Verizon Wireless experience was.
I didn't answer, but I would agree that most probably it was Verizon since I just signed up with them a week ago.
Interesting that they call at a time that you would get charged for the minutes.
Why can't we block this - very annoying!

I didn't answer, but from reading everyone elses comments it only makes sense that it was verizon wireless. I just switched over to verizon wireless.
I agree its Verizon, but why 3 phone calls in 4 hours? Come on..

Just got a call from this number. I just got my Verizon phone on Monday (now Thursday). Didn't answer the call b/c I didn't recognize the number.

Me too! I was on-line at the time, so I googled the area code, and saw it was Seattle. I don't know anyone in Seattle! I'm in Minnesota!
I have been with Verizon for less then one week. I would agree it must be Verizon.
yep..I've gotten this message twice today. once at 10am [which was 7am in washington!! why would anyone call at 7am?] and once just now. I got my new VZW phone 8 days ago. The first call, there was a short voicemail of some music tone..like a ringtone or something but kept cutting out and was only a few seconds long. they must have thought my answering machine message was a human talking to them. [like many automated phones do, they call a lot of people and start talking to whoever 'answers']
If it was really Verizon, they would leave a message telling you what they want.
Good, now I know who called and what to say to them next time they call again, signed up with V 3 days ago, annoying because I thought I missed an important call/only my close circle have my cell - not any more.
i signed up with verizon 3 days ago, and have already received 2 calls from this number within the last 3 hours. hopefully it will stop soon. i havent answered. not leaving messages either.
It's actually legit! I finally answered and it was just Verizon (once again) making sure I knew about the services available to me. Throughout the first few minutes, the automated voice reminded me that the call wasn't using up my airtime. Just go through the process and it'll be over before u know it. It's more annoying to have them call over and over again than to just sit through the free 8 minute phone call....
Recieved and activated new service on Tues, and got call on Thurs. Sent email to VZW to see what's up. This is Not cool, regardless if it's legitimately Verizon or not! WTH?!
I got 4 calls from this number within two days, less than a week after getting new Verizon phones. When I looked it up on "are you IN" the number is not "in", which leads me to believe it's not Verizon. A pretty elaborate scam, and a little scary. How do the scammers get these numbers so quickly?
Not sure if it was Verizon. I never answered the call and if it was, I wish they would call when they aren't using up MY Minutes. If anyone knows how to block this number please post it so others will know.
i received this call and called in back - believing it was one of my friends who were not in my address book since I jsut switched to verizon from cingular a week ago. They said it was verizon message center and I ahd a message - please put in my password. Being new to verizon, I believed this could be a feature and did so. They then said they did not recognize my pin and please put in my number then press pound. Did so and then immediately after the brain started working and realized this could have been a scam and hung up right after. I then called Verizon - they said this is in no way part of them and that it is an act called spoofing and this number is based in seattle. She said to contact local authorities for further help that they can't help. Hope somebody didn't get my personal info. Changed my passwords already too.

Yep, just got a new phone on Wednesday, haven't given anyone my number or told them I have this additional phone. They called 3 times today, but since the phone was still in the box - charged and loaded with my contact list - but not using it until they "port" my number, I thought I check through Google to see what that number linked to - here I am..... guess I'll learn how the delete message feature...

There needs to be a service that lets you punch in numbers you want to block
Steve is right. I just got a new Verizon phone and haven't give the number out yet. But I got a call from this number and didnt answer it.
I have to agree with mary. They are very annoying. They've called me two days in a row during my lunch hour and i just signed up with them on Saturday - it is now Wednesday.

Although I didn't answer, I'm fairly confident it was Verizon since I just signed up with them a week ago.
This was Verizon Wireless. They were wanting me to buy more service and features for the newly purchased PDA/phone. It's an automated service out of WA. state.
