Scammer called at 5:09pm ET on January 7, 2014

I have had Caller ID since the very beginning and my phone has been on both the state and federal Do Not call Lists since they were first available. I never answer a phone without checking Caller ID first. I have zero reason to answer any call from a "Customer Care" caller to call me, a "legitimate" caller would have had the name of a well recognized company name on the Caller ID. My gut feeling told me this call was a scam and I never answered it. Always go by the rule: Never answer a call if you don't recognize the caller's name or number, or if it's not from your local calling area, or if it's not someone you know.

That CUSTOMER CARE of course is supposed to lead you to think someone DOES care, when in fact they're just intruding. Or maybe we're supposed to think of health care (aka make the insurance companies rich), and be THRILLED that the health folks are actually phoning. What phonies. Oh, please.

I was here reading the comments last week and Betsy was so crude, I disregarded her opinions but did try out Jacob's comment. I'm back to update to say Betsy shouldn't vent her untruths and thanks Jacob, I called 866-246-7196 scam and it did stop the calls.

Initially I ignored these phone calls but they kept calling back and then I answered the call and asking them to stop but they that didn't work. I searched around and found a comment from another site that suggested calling 866-246-7196 scam. I called a couple of days ago and spoke to a person and asked of their do not call request service. They told me they provide this service for a small number of companies that want to minimize complaints and save time not calling people who don't want to be called. I gave them the caller's phone number and it was on their list so I gave them the receiving phone number to add to their do not call list and the calls did in fact stop so I wanted to pass this along.
