All you have to do is call any one of the numerous numbers that show up on your caller ID. They all show up as AICR and they are in fact the American Institute of Cancer Research - I called the numbers back.

I told them that I don't give to generic cancer research orginizations but that I do give to the ACS and if they sent me a pleage card I would throw it away. They sent it anyway and I filed it in the trash. A week or so later they called and asked where their money is. I told them their not getting anything and told them to quit calling because i will not give to them. They were on my caller ID today. A very orginized scam?

If you don't want to be bothered by these calls, ask to have your name and telephone number removed from their Calling List.

Received a call from 202-870-5882 at 1:25PM on Thursday, May 5, 2010.
It's a solicitor for the American Institute for Cancer Research.
They asked for me by name and wanted to know if I would commit to
a campaign by paying for postage out of my own pocket to send 12 envelopes
to my neighbors, asking them to donate money to the AICR. When I told the
man I would not be able to participate, he continued the conversation and
wanted to know the reason why I could not help. I hung up on him. Don't
these solicitors know "NO" means "NO"? They are invading my privacy and
my solitude. Why do I have to give them a reason I'm unable to participate?

No message left on answering machine, which is muted as I only answer when I recognize a number on the Caller ID; I have repeatedly reported calls to several Attorneys General and was basically told there is nothing they can do. For example, a scam originates in Hong Kong, the perps buy a block of phone numbers (0000 through 0100) from a reseller, and so law enforcement claims there is no way to stop it because the phone company won't give up the info, I guess they need a subpoena? Whatever. Best thing to do is never answer and report to Do Not Call.

AICR is a fraud organization disguising itself as a charitable organization and as American Institute of Cancer Research. DON'T answer the phone with them. They have been calling almost daily for more than a month now.

They continue to call daily but now are using three different phone numbers. I don't answer the phone with them.

They are using the following numbers.
202-870-5894
202-870-5882
202-870-5884

I let all calls go to an answering machine which is muted unless I see that the call is from someone I know.

They call every single day at different times. My husband works nights and it is very annoying for him to hear a ringing phone when he is trying to sleep. We never answer the calls...we want them to stop. This needs to be outlawed!

Those people are parading as a charitable organization but are in fact political hacks. They continue to call from various numbers as you try to block their calls. Very annoying! Something must be done about those parasites. They have succeeded in one aspect, We shall no longer contribute to the American Cancer society since they allow their name to be used for partisan garbage to the current Political charade!

These people have been calling continually. I finally answered and they said they were checking up on a resume they had. I had never heard of the person and they claimed they needed to talk to my husband. He is in a nursing home and to the best of my knowledge, doesn't know this person either.

I finally answered after repeated calls with no message over several days. The woman asked for someone with a different first name. When I explained that she was calling a business line and that individual did not work here, she hung up. VERY ANNOYING!!
