I am the small business librarian at a large Central library in New York State. I just had a library customer who came close to sending the scammers at requestagrant.com a $2500 check in return for their "help" in filling out applications to obtain grants to start a small business. He is saving his money after I told him there are no grants for starting a small business. It is all a scam.

On the topic of grants--which are legitimate and which are scams. There really are grants to help with college expenses if one qualifies as a lower income individual. Many other legitimate "grants" are administered by a county social services department for their clients who are lower income and qualify for such things as food stamps, heating assistance and more. One applies for these with a county department of social services.

I got the same call as has already been described by other people. This is PROBABLY a scam. However, the fact is that "free" money really IS available in the form of grants which, as the message said "you never have to pay back". Now...how can we find out which offers are legit and which are scams?? It's too hard to tell in this day and age, so...I'm not even going to respond to the message.

Remember..."if it sounds too good to be true...it probably is".

always let your land line ring twice. does not work on a wireless. when call from requestagrant is complete then hang up. in a few seconds pick up your phone. when you hear a dial tone punch in *57 and listen to the reording which will trace the call, and for which you will be charged $1.00 when enough individuals have performed the *57 there will be a real investigation of those different numbers used by requestagrant.

I have received two phone calls from this company on my cell phone. I am a Detective with the Rushville Police Department in Rushville, IN. I have contacted the Indiana Attorney General's Office about this matter since I am also on a Do Not Call list. Hopefully, this matter will be taken care of.

I am on a do not call list. Keep getting these calls. When you go to site they suggest, there are no grants available to individuals that don't have to be paid back. Even if you enroll in one of the grant finder programs, all you do is get charged and still there are no grants available for people needing helf to pay off debts. This is just another scam. Please remove my number from this calling list.

Yes, I am interested in applying for a grant. For me to recieve an educational grant to further my current studies would be very beneficial. This memo is in reply to your phone call of 10/1/08. I currently hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and, am pursing an MBA in Business Management. The anticipated completion date of my MBA is 12/06/09. A grant in the range of $10,000 to $25,000 would be very helpful, as I hope to either obtain a second Master's Degree upon completion of this current one or pursue a Doctorate in a related field.

Please

Have gotten several phone calls, saying I'm gualified for 25,000 in grant money that I don't have to pay back. But they wanted my credit card or debit card to pay for the shipping. I asked them to c.o.d. it to me, they said they couldn't. Then Iknew something was up. I to am on the no call list. How are they getting our no.My last call was on Sept. 25at 12 p.m. That pissed my husband and my kids off. At our house we all start our day at 5a.m. in the morning. Needless to say they got more then they wanted when I answered the phone and it was someone who couldn't even say my name.

This was a silent call. When I called the number back I got a recorded message: "You have reached the Cash Grant Institute in Washington, DC, yadda, yadda, yadda." Apparently no one was available to take my call. The message then referred me to requestagrant.com

We're getting too many of these nuisance calls lately.

No answer when I picked up the phone. How can we stop these calls and is there really a do not call list or are they selling our numbers? This call came through at 5:50pm on 09-10-08. Does it work to say take me off your calling list? I heard you had to say it three times before they would is that true?

I know it was a scam. The Federal Government is so brke they cant afford to give any one anything. They are borrowing money from other countries. What a joke (hahahahahaha) This really should be forwarded to The Attorney General's office to every State these persons
