Look What Sophia wrote on 07-31-07!!!! Think she works for them? Yes Sophia, there is a reason for them calling repeatedly...it is called "they are thieves" trying to rip people off!! Sophia..post your phone number here so we can call you any countless number of times day or night.
Well,,,they were right on time...30 minutes went by and ring ,ring ,ring. This time I simply picked up the phone untill a mans voice said "hello, hello",then pressed 9 then 1 to verify that I do not want them to call me anymore.Hopefully it will work???
just got the call offering 10000 line of credit.pressed 1 to see if i could speak to a real person, got fead up with it so i hung up and got on the computer to visit the web site they offerd "for me to read the agreement".Glad I did....The recording said they would call back in 30 minutes.OH!!! This ## that called me was 888-864-9519
.Same scam though.
" SOME PEOPLES CHILDREN,Huh!!!!!!! "
Only solution to this problem is to store the number into your phone and then assign it a silent alert. That way it won't interrupt you. If you don't call it back you won't use any minutes
Man of middle eastern accent called. I hung up the first time thinking it was a prank. He was a real person, and he said that I earned a grant. He was VERY adamant about getting my address, saying that he got my info from my taxes. My taxes should have my address on it. Also, he was gonna charge me $59.99 for something. No info was given to him, and the call disconnected.
i get this number on my cell phone. tried to call it back ,just say number can't be completed as dialed
I am going to file a complaint as well as cinnamon with the FCC.. Yes you are rught they are the same as 202-664-1270
... Where I was approved for a 10k Credit Card. Just put in your banking info...YEA RIGHT !!!!!
Was approved for a 10k credit card. I just had to punch in my banking info. . I said I didn't have one. It then gave me this site and follow the instructions. b.s. !
File a FCC complaint!
These are the same guys from telephone 202-664-1270

Machine announces 'platinum card with $10,000 limit, then requests that you input your bank routing # and account #.Looks like ID theft scam.
Hi,I'Avello Charles is responed to your call that I was approve for a credit card. But,I do not have a bank account.
Avello Charles Aug 02nd, 2007
got call did not answer no message left and returned call got verizon recording that the number dialed could not be reached please check and try again later
Had a bunch of calls from these two numbers since I got a new cellphone number a week ago.
I called the Level3 number, and the voicemail says to send these to email@example.com so that's what I'm trying. I also added my number (and my home number, while I'm at it) to the National Do Not Call Registry www.donotcall.gov
message always says for recent credit card application
I received two calls from this number today - I say "hello" and a male voice says "hello" back...and that's it. He won't say anything else and eventually hangs up.
They call non-stop... this must stop.
Sometimes when you say hello you hear your voice echo - other times the line is connected to a recording telling you that you're qualified for a $10,000 credit platinum card, etc. etc. etc.... I'll be reporting them to more than this site very soon if this crap does not stop!!

I first got a call from this number last night. When I answered a man said something and then suddenly a female recording started. It said I was approved for a 10,000 credit line. I knew it was some sort of identity scam immediately. The same number called my house again this morning.
I get about 10 calls a day from these people. I say Hello and they say Hello Hello? and hang up. Super fast busy signal when I try to call back
I got a call from this number tonight but when I called it back I got "The number or code you have dialed is incorrect" I have Sprint so that may be why I get that particular message but I can tell a LOT of people have had this same issue, it's quite irritating.
I get a call from this company saying my 10,000 credit line has been approved. They switch their phone number every day. Who's ready for the class action lawsuit?
automated message told me my 'application' for $10,000 had been approved and to press 1 to accept. I hung up.
I continued to call this number until someone answered the phone. A young man answered the phone and I said "What Company is this?" he said "I am not a company." he continued to laugh and I could hear other conversations going on in the background. I said "You just called my number, what do you want?" He said he did not call and used obscene sounds and said something else I could not understand....
Ignore advice from anyone calling herself Sophia. Where is the Better Business Bureau when you need them?
this is a spam call, you cannot return
none left on voice mail called back and got unable to connect your call as entered
Got a call from this number on 7/31/2007. Someone on the line said "hello" in response to my hello, but then it was silence until the recording kicked in. The recording said it was SDM calling to let me know that my recent request for credit had been approved ($10,000), and I could either complete the confirmation over the phone (press 1) or refuse the offer (press 9). I tried zero, but it gave me the original options again. After pressing 1 to try to get a real person, it asked a series of questions to get my bank account number. Definitely an illegal scam.
After someone said hello, I was transferred into a system that asked for my routing and bank account numbers. I gave it and it didn't work (just kidding).
I couldn't get to a person. Hopefully, they won't keep calling anymore.
Person says hello then recording comes on telling me that I have been approved for $10,000 credit card. My home number is on the due not call list.
Just received call from this # with a recording wanting my bank acct info to verify our identity. My son had applied for a college loan. I tried to call back & got a quick busy signal. I did not give any info to the caller.
it is for a credit card.they said if i dont want to apply over the phone to log into creditcardlogin.com to apply and this is what it brought up.
they call me 2 & 3 times a day!!!!
I just received call from this number and called it back all I got was a fast busy signal. Hope they stop calling.
You guys relax. I know for a fact that this number belongs to a cash lending company. How they got your number? You must have filled something out on the internet(mortgage, credit card, etc). Some of you might have just got a new number and it used to belonged to someone who did fill out something on the net or borrowed from them. Or you borrowed money from them and didn't pay back.It is an automated system that checks something.I am not sure what but there is a purpose to it.
They say Hi, and nothing else. They've called us 4 times in two days. They must be desperate for scamming people
Keeps calling and not leaving a message
They keep calling me - continuously - on my cell phone - I have to pay for this call and I want them to stop.

I answer this call and someone says "hello" and then it hangs up they call everyday sometimes 2-3 times a day it is always the same person saying HELLO and they never answer me it always hangs right up
I just got a call from this company and someone says hello and then it goes to some other person from india saying i have been selected for something, I don;t know what I was selected for because I hung up.
This number calls me day and night. I don't pick up. Next time I will and see who it is.
This number just started calling my cell phone which is a business cell, they call several times a day now, but when you call its back you get noone.
I also receive calls from this nbr, telling me I have been approved for a 10k line of credit. If you call 1-877-877-0648
and press 1, you can lodge a complaint. i live in Canada and the nbr shows up from Washington Dc. I found the Level 3 number on another site. it appears these people are really ticking people off!
Unknown Name. Caller says hello and hangs up or attempts to put on a recording but it doesn't work. Called before and I received some type of recording. Didn't listen to it, just hung up.
I received another call on my Cell Phone from 202-664-1270 at 5:35 PM EST 7/30/07. I answered this time and said, "Hello" and he said, "Hello" and I said, "Go F**K Yourself With This Scam" and hung up on him. I called my Cell Phone company and lodged a complaint with them and told them to come here and look at this website. They have now blocked that number from my Cell Phone. Here is an idea that I use on my home phone (landline) and that is a feature called "Call Intercept" it allows you to block certain numbers from getting through. It is a godsend. I highly recommend it. Most VoIP's also have this feature but under different names as I am a Verizon customer. I also have 2 VoIP phone lines based in 2 different cities and states. So, when I get calls on those lines that I don't know, I block them right away. I also recommend that you use the "Call Trace" feature if you have it. It may be called something different if you have another carrier however, after the call press *57 and that sends a report to the local Telco company. If they get enough of them from your phone line they will start a criminal complaint against the person/company that is harrassing you. Just a few tid bits to help out as best I can. Good Luck. I'll be back!! LOL!!
I'm sure getting tired of these scam artists! 2nd call in about as many hours.
From checking on the net, they could be in Costa Rica or Germany. Apparently the DC number has been transferred from Verizon to a VoIP provider.

they call me atleast 2 times a day and never leave a voice mail.
i got a voice that said hello and then it went to a recording asking me for my banking information for a loan, the first call was to activate my credit card. WHAT CREDIT CARD!!!
got 2 calls today that I keep missing cause I'm at work. that's when I googled and came to this website. at least I know it's not a friend or family member calling from a payphone or something. glad I found this website!
They called and didn't leave a message. I called their number and it rang and rang. No one answered and no answering machine.
This number called my Cell Phone at 1:45 PM. I did not answer as I do not know anyone in the 202 (DC) area except my Senator. Don't even know her personally for her to call my cell phone. I called the number back but was told that it was out of service. After some checking on the internet this JayShree has many numbers including one out of Hackensack, NJ that number is 201-373-8371
. So, watch that number as well. I have my Cell Phone on the DNC list but none the less they keep calling. Let them get my voice mail its not costing me anything and if they have my bank account information it's strictly deposit only. And if they have my SSN good luck getting credit with it as my FICO score sucks. I can't even get a loan or a credit card. So, its all a waste of time.
I get a call from this number every day and no message is left. no one answers when you call back.
please stop these calls from coming to my cell i dont want or need a creditcard from these people so stop the harrassing phone calls from this number to my phone or home phone. thanks paula

Other websites tie this number to 201-373-8371
and that has been identified to scam-artists in Costa Rica.
It has also been identified as HSBC Mortgage, "Lender's Mortgage Associates", and a "known telemarketer".
The most complete entries identify this as a criminal ID-theft ring, asking for SSN and more PII for an offer that is supposedly pre-approved.
The reference up-comment-list to http://www.dfi.wa.gov/consumers/alerts/united.htm
looks QUITE likely.
Someone linked it (via e-Mail spam) to 1-800-968-1875
which also matches it to that "United Lending" scam.
Somebody identified it as "National Lending Corporation" "mynlc.com" is registered to a private individual, at Rackspace/Houston. Or, mynlc.biz "Hao Nguyen"
Also, see "Ripoff Report" entry http://www.ripoffreport.com/searchresults.asp?searchtype=0&submit2=Search%21&q5=National+Lending+Corporation&Search=Search
Whoever it is, if you gave them YOUR information, it's time to watch all your accounts, and put a "watch" on your credit report. There is no reason to believe that the Caller-ID number (202) 664-1270 even originates in the US.
Note that the website www.generic-rxdrugs.com is itself a scam. The website is in Germany, and the domain registration has been removed (but not discontinued) by the registrar, in Austria.

These idiots recited half of my checking account number!!!!!!!!! They wanted me to complete it! Be careful!!!!!!!
Report this number and the caller ID display to the FBI by calling their Fraud Information Center at 1-800-876-7060
This number is reserved for seemingly fraudulent telemarketing activity.
I believe this number may be somehow linked to another frequent caller that I have. I have done research on the other number, 201-373-8371
, Caller ID says "Jayshree")and it is a credit card/financial scam. Both numbers call and never leave messages, but sometimes if you pick up, a recording of a man's voice saying "Hello?" will play and then you will either get silence (most the time) or a recording about some refinance company or a platinum line of credit. Both of these numbers do they same thing when they call me. I believe they may be linked. Research the number I referenced above and you will see that it is some shady telemarketing company that operates outside of gov't rules and regs, and has no regard for the do not call lists. It is to my knowledge that the ONLY way to make these calls stop is to either A. wait it out, and eventually (in a few months) they will stop, or B. change your phone number. There have been reports to the FBI filed against these numbers.
THey keep calling and will not leave a message. I called it back and its fast busy
This guy answers "hello"
in a mimicking voice.
Does no say anything else.
rec'd call at 1043am today. called id showed al phone number. didnt answer it, becuz i didnt know who it was. tried to google it and ended up here.
your system told me to log in if i dont have a bank acc.

A man said hello and nothing else so I hung up.
I said hello, and they hung up.
I get this number every couple of hours, it rings once then nothing and they do it 4 or 5 times in a row. It looks like it is a payday loan place...I started getting all of these calls and e-mails after going to PLS in my town. They sold my info to their cronies and also sold my bank account number. Now I have payday loan places taking money out of my account without my authorization.
Caller ID says "Dist of Colombi". Received phone call at 8:27 p.m. today (it's a Sunday!).
They said they were from the IRS wanting to collect back taxes. I don't owe any. They need to be reported to IRS, FTC and FBI for impersonation of a federal official
I wish these companies who be outlawed esp. when they call your cell number.
Picked up phone. Phone rang on other end. Foreign man answered and I said "what do you want?" He said, "nothing, you called me". We all need to investigate this number promptly....
this number calls all hours of the night once he was saying nasty things i had my man answer he hung up sounds like they are in India or something the called yesterday always sounds like the same person i hung up on him i have told them repeatedly not to call my phone he left a message said i just hung up on (my towns) police department and if i didn't call back i wuould have actions take against me when icalled the number back it said this phone does not accept phone calls in
This guy called my house and my six year old daughter answered the phone, and he was harrassing her, and making fun of her when I got the phone he hung up. I am reporting him to the authorities, and he had better know not to EVER speak to a six year old again, or he will have alot of crap to get himself out of. Coward..won't even let people call him back. He needs to take his harassing self back to where he came from. I'm guessing by his accent another country...
This number call all day from 8a.m. to 7p.m. don't say anything call back line busy.
Keep getting a call from this number. Try to call it back and all it says is that "at the req of the service provider no incoming calls are accepted at this number" area code is for Washington DC though
I dont know exactly what kind of scam this is but i will bet that the number you see on your caller id is not the real number. Anyone can use a caller id spoof and make it look like its coming from any number.
Husband works in DC..so I made the mistake of answering the call. DAMN!! Heavy accented man told me his name was Steve and that I owned property and was he correct that I owned property. I did not answer. I just got out the whistle I keep by the phone for these annoying calls and let him hear a nice long ear piercing screech!! Yeah ME!!! Everytime they call, they will get the same treatment.
Calls, Hangs up, calls a couple of times a day!
I have received this caller numerous times. I am really glad that there is a run on it. People that have gotten this number, now, I don't feel alone. Hey, guys, thanks for the reply's
If it continues more and more, report it to the F.B.I. as a last resort.
Caller ID shows Unknown Name-we didn't answer the phone because of this. No message was left.
Called my cell phone left no message.
Check with your phone company - they may have a service that allows you to block specific numbers.
I had a similar problem with "SRI" - calling several times a day. After exhausting all other routes, the next time they called, I barked like a dog. Sounds weird I know, but they haven't called back.
I get called daily and they hang up! A real pain!

Just got this call, but didn't answer. It stopped after 4 rings.
I was hoping that this mysterious call would be the president asking me for advice or to execute a secret operation. I was very disapointed to find this blog and its rational explanations.
Just 3 rings, then stopped before I had the chance to answer.
I got my first call from this number and when I caled it back, my automated carrier said I wasn't allowed to call the number from that phone. I hope this doesn't become a frequent thing...
claimed to be calling from lenders mortgage (or mortgage lenders...) guy had indian accent and said his name was 'bookir'... said could not take my # off their list.... someone was talking to him in the background and he said there was no supervisor or anyone with him when asked to speak to someone else who could answer any questions. he never got to the point or said why he was calling and it seemed like he would have stayed on the phone being secretive as long as i had the patience to keep asking him questions.... perhaps this call was just a training exercise for him and i was just a random subject because he appeared to have no actual reason for calling.... (it was kinda like the 'argument department' sketch from monty python....)
called here 3 times in the last week. I have caller ID so I ignore it. But I have also signed up for "Do not call List" but it is ignored.
my phone service allows me to do a call trace (*57) the charge is 1dollar per call after a few traces in a row you can contact your law enforcement agency this way you have legally documented these annoying calls that cannot be blocked it'ts worth a few bucks for peace of mind
Just like all, I got lots of calls. Finally I played their game. I pressed #1 "yes, I am interested in your offer". Got some foreigner. Got him to tell me his name, then got him to tell me who he works for! It is Independent Plus Visa. Told him to take me off his list as I am on the do not call list. that was in January 2007. Now it is starting up again. This time I will press #1 "Yes I am interested in your offer" and blow a whistle in his ear!!!
Been calling after 6pm 4 days in a row. Haven't been able to answer. Calls on my cell phone. I recently applied for discover card and used cell # because we are moving to another state and dodn't have new # yet. When call back I get call failed on cell phone.
same as other callers have noted...
How many of you participated in the free iPod offer last year?
Asked about my mortgage. When I told him I didn't have one, he hung up.
I got a call from this number. When I answered I received a ring connection to the party calling. Person answering called me by name and introduced himself as "Steve" and had a mid eastern accent. It was very hard to understand him and the company he said he represented. I informed him I was on a do not call list and to remove my number from the lsit.
Caller I.D. shows this number calling my cell phone. On returning the call, I get a busy signal.
