Since the call came at 8:12 a.m. I was not in the best frame of mind. The woman identified herself as some cancer fund and stated they are not asking for money; just wanted me to mail cards to neighbors, etc. Told her no, but she continued on. Lost my patience and told her I didn't appreciate a call at such an early hour and to remove my name from the list. She said ok but she has to verify my name & addrs. She had a totally different first name for me. Told her she was wrong and hung up.

Harrassing - terribly annoying!! They DO NOT STOP; THEY DO NOT GIVE UP!! I already answered them and said I am not interested?? PLEASE - tell them to STOP! Must have received at least 100 calls in last 2 months! There should be a CAP on how many calls should be placed to a single phone #, esp. if they DO NOT answer; i.e. Example: 12 phone calls placed (STOP - no more). With these people, no matter whether I answer or not, they continue to call even when I say "NO!" They do not take your name off their list??? I work in a Hospital with many opportunities to give to the Cancer Society for whatever - that should be enough! I've told them; still, they continue. Tired of it!!

Add this to your list of callers to ignore: I received call around 7 pm one night and as soon as they identified themselve as representing the "National Institutes for Health" I told them to stop right there because federal agencies (yes, there is a NIH - National Instutitues for Health federal service)don't make random calls to personal residences, and after business hours either. I then asked what they wanted and they hung up.
I received call the next night and picked up receiver but didn't say anything - they hung up in 3 seconds.
I'd love for them to call once more so I can get a "supervisor" and report them to the FCC and FTC for misrepresentation.

After over a year of Cancer Reserch showing up on the caller ID, the last one on the 19th from 202-652-4599, they have changed to this number.

I thought calls from charities or "businesses with previous relationship" could only call between certain hours...starting at 9 am. Will have to check.
