Have received several calls in the last two weeks. The first time, I answered and there was no response. Each time after that I let the answering machine pick it up; no message was left. The caller ID showed ACLJ in all of the calls except for today's which showed "Service Call"
Calls every day at different times and they never leave a message. I usually have the ringer off as I work nights, and my family knows to call my cell phone anyway. The past couple of times however they have called at 11am and 7pm at night. You would think that after several months of not reaching anyone they would give up, but still they call.
We've been getting calls every single day from 202-507-7331; the ACLJ, and are so sick of it. They don't leave a message; what can be done to stop them calling??
We are already on the no-call list, are they exempt??
Has been calling each day, No message and I've not answered. Dist of Columbi comes up.
ACLJ comes up on caller ID; never leaves a msg. Calls in cycles of 3-5 days a week every month.
They have called several times. Each time it's a man asking for my husband by name. When I say he's not home, he says "I'll try again another time" and hangs up quickly. Today, before he got it out of his mouth, I just told him if he couldn't leave a message or tell me where he was calling from, not to call again. I'm sure he'll call again. It's getting annoying.
The American Center for Law and Justice is a legitimate group that would not ask anyone to help pass the Freedom of Choice Act. This Act is pro-abortion and the ACLJ is definitely pro-life and defends religious liberties. Jay Sekulow is a well-known lawyer who represents the real ACLJ. He has appeared many times before the Supreme Court. These phone calls are NOT from this organization although they say they are. "Jay" doesn't work for the government, but rather represents private citizens or groups, sometimes against the government entities that have not respected the First Ammendment rights of those citizens. The two different addresses mentioned in Shirley Rogers' comment (see this page) are a further indication of a problem. The official ACLJ website (aclj.org) shows the address to be PO Box 90555 and NONE of the phone numbers shown on their page match that of the nuisance caller (202-507-7331). I called the 800 number on the ACLJ webpage and also the 202-507-7331 number. I got two very different recordings The nuisance phone number did say it was the ACLJ and gave what sounded like true information, but I could have made up the same message just using info from their website. It offered to discontinue further calls if I would put in my 10-digit number, but since I did not believe it was really the ACLJ I did not do this. Finally, I called the 800 number found on aclj.org again, and got a live rep who spoke with me at length about these other calls, which are apparently from someone scamming for money and working to discredit a legitimate organization, one that not everyone agrees with but which is definitely not using nuisance calls to solicit money.
The government "Do-not-call" list protects from marketers who honor the system. Some simply do not honor it, and obviously scammers will not. Charitable organizations may legally call those people who are already on their mailing lists.
Daily calls, multiple times, different times. CALLER-ID screens my calls so I don't answer. The DO-NOT-CALL list is another example of government programs gone awry.
Caller identified himself as Michael Pellegrini and asked for a donation to help pass the Freedom of Choice Act. I am on a no-call list and told him so but he was very insistent and wanted a pledge from me for $25. I told him I would think about it when I got something in the mail. I got a letter and self=addressed envelope shortly thereafter and about a week later I got another one supposedly signed by Jay Sekulow. This happened back in January and I couldn't decide whether it was legal or not so I haven't sent any donation.Jay stated he worked for the Government Affairs Office in Washington, DC. I haven't heard anything since. The envelopes have a P.O. Box 91500, but on the letterhead it says P. O. Box 90555. Please let me know if this is legitimate.Thank you,Shirley Rogers

Daily calls - sometimes two or three a day. Caller ID says "Unknown"
Carole Mather Mar 24th, 2009
DAILY CALLS AT ALL HOURS OF DAY AND NIGHT FOTR AT LEAST 3 WEEKS NOW
I called their 800 number and was dumped into an unmanned phone line...
Do what I did and tell them about it on their Facebook page.
Is probably dialing multiple numbers at once, since the ringing often stops before my machine picks up. Someone else being multi-dialed answered their phone, I guess.
The American Center for Law and Justice is an attempt to counterbalance the undue influence of the ACLU in today's politics. That said, they are annoyingly persistent at calling, dunning for donations. Even if you've never given them a penny, they will call for years.
American Center for Law and Justice - Wants a donation.
Calls on Sunday 8:30 a.m. Monday 8:30 a.m. I find this type of behavior irritating and what ever your selling I wish NOT to be bothered. Please CEASE & DESIT: IMMEDIATELY!!

American Center for Law and Justice:
Getting tired of them. It calls about twice a day. No one says anything on the other end so I hang up.
If they ever do answer, God help the person on the other end cause they'll get a good talkin' to.
message from the right wing conservatives using scare tactics and spreading false information about obama and the freedom of choice act.
Have called before. Don't say anything, or leave a message. Reverse look up says they are in Washington, DC
They called after 6:30 P.M. Person was surprised they called a place of business. She said they were trying to make a "personal call for someone" and said they'd "update" their records. I hung up without questioning them.
BAD LANGUAGE, SEXUAL, CALL BY NAME
I finally got a lady when I answered - often I just got air or a disconnect. I promptly asked her who she was and she said Dayton, OH. I asked again who she was and eventually she said "Infocisions" (sp?) I asked her how she could call if we were on the do not call list. She said that maybe we had just been added to the list and I told her we had been on it for years. She did say she would take us off their list.
They call all the time (before 9 PM), and I never have answered simply because I do not give to agencies that telemarket, so I don't know who it really is.
So kind of erectile dysfuntion drug sales
When we they ever just give up? I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF THE SOLICITATIONS!!!! I am ready to call Jay and tell him to "hang it up". I don't won't to be bothered with these calls that are so evasive.
Unidentified female called asking to speak to my wife,I responded that she wasn't home and without any courtesy said "she would call back later" and promptly hung up. I would be happy to hear " We will never bother you again"
These nuts call my phone at least 5 times a day for years even though I never pick up.
I called today and told them that for every time they call me I am calling them TEN times.
After I called back 5x and repeated I think they got the message. Everyone should do the same: American Center for Law and Justice https://www.aclj.org/Content/?f=164

they called Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday but left no message. I'm on the donotcall list. Searched aclj on the web and American Center for Law and Justice came up. If they're non-profit and want money (I assume that's what they want), why don't they just leave a message and quit disturbing people. Or better yet, don't call at all.
202-507-7331 is phone number for ACLJ; a group headquartered in Washington, DC; organized by Pat Robertson. Enough said--Righteous Right trying their hand at slander and propaganda again.
This comes up as "ACLJ" on the caller I.D. This company is very harassing; they have called twice so far today (12/30/2008). I filed a complaint against them with the National Do Not Call Registry.

someone unknown called and didnt leave information
STOP HARRASSING ME! Even when I manage to answer the phone there is no one there. No messages ever left. Just wait, if I ever actually speak to a person they are going to get an ear full. Tired of the constant phone harrasment.
No one there ... this is getting VERY annoying. The calls come a lot.... I usually don't pick up because it shows unknown on the caller ID - but this morning was an early one and I picked up without looking.
I didn't answer. They keep calling. No info in caller ID other than the number.
i can't believe that our Great phone company can't put a stop to this.. or the Gov. But they are so worried about everything else.
I wished there was some way to stp this.
i have this number forwaded to my fax machine and they still call every day and I still do not know who they are

I also keep getting calls from this number. Most recentlyat 5:38 PM on 11-9-2008
Repeated phone calls and no one at the other end. I don't have caller ID, did *69, called the number and a recording indicated it was from Jay Sekulow's office. Did a reverse lookup for this number but no info available, but that it is a Tuscaloosa, Alabama landline. Googled the phone number and came across this site, which has a link to the Jay Sekulow's website. Called them and requested our number be removed from their list. They assured me it would be done but that it takes approximately 24 to 48 hours for the request to take effect. Other numbers being reported as calls from Jay Sekulow's office are from different parts of the country. If this is Jay Sekulow's office, then these are our tax dollars at work. We pay to get disrupted, interrupted, aggravated and they don't have the decency to at least have a recorded message when we answer.
Didn't answer and let the answering machine pick up. They have never left a message.
ACLJ American College for Law & Justice. some blogs say it's a christian law firm (non-profit) and DO NOT CALL LIST does not pertain to them. In my opinion, pain as they call all the time and need to stop!

It came up on our caller ID as "Cell Phone DC". Of course they didn't leave a message on the answering machine.
When I saw ACLJ, I thought it was probably the American Center for Law and Justice. There was no one on the line.
Have received at least a call a day, at varying times. When I answer, there is no response. Whatever they are "selling", not only will I not buy it, I will actively speak against it.
Is some type of fund raising.
Won't answer unless they identify themselves by speaking or caller I.D.
Calls twice a day. i am on do not call list
I get these calls all the time. I never answer and they never leave a message. Caller ID on the last call said "Telephone Manag" but it's the same number as other calls that show up as ACLJ
says unavailable, when I call it back it is a recording that says it is ACLJ. They have called every day, at least once, often twice a day during the day when we are gone and the one time I answered, it was a long pause and then nothing.
Caller ID says ACLJ. They have called several times but I don't answer.
They call and get you out of bed and do not talk. They call and do not leave a message. Called the number back and was told via recording they were trying to reach me with an important message from Jay Sekulow.
My phone rang and when I answered twice they just hung up. This needs to be investigated and prosicuted for disturbing the peace. They won't talk, just hang up.

I received a call but I don't hold ACLJ responsible. I don't think it's them. Check their website - they have toll-free and VA - based numbers - not DC. The caller on my voicemail did, at least, say something. "Hello, hello - is anyone there?" They still didn't identify themselves though.
I get maybe 7 to 10 calls a week and I never answer any call that I don't know or that doesn't leave a message .. I have an answering mach on 24/7 so why bother answering and listing to some fool recording.
Frustrated Jul 26th, 2008
I doubt it is really the ACLJ. First, the number is one lower than a satellite TV scam 202-507-7332
and second, the "real" ACLJ usually plays a recorded message from their founder.
Interesting that this number is one higher than the American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) 202-507-7331
.. or was that a scam too?
Call came in approx. 8:00 PM PDT...did not leave a message. I called back by doing a *67(blocking CID) 1 202-507-7331 and a recording came on stating it was the American Justice Center.

Have called 6 times in 6 days. This is a mystery, but I will not call them back. Instead I will call ATT and get this number blocked. Let them have their fun.
They call all the time. Everyday!! Never leave a message and don't answer when you tell them to stop calling.
Answered, but no one on other end. This number has been entered into my auto-answering software PhoneTray Free and will be answered by the computer in the future.
A call every day for a week. Several times before 9am, including 8:30 on a Saturday!
They never leave a message and call almost everyday. I want them to stop calling. Blocked them and they showed up under another number.
Repeated calls (I do not pick up since Caller ID shows them as Unknown) and they do not leave message.
These jerks at the American Center for Law and Justice are the very "criminals" these so called Christians advocates are claiming to be fighting for. They are the ones breaking laws witn their telephone harrassment and invasion of people's home privacy. They should be the ones to be banned. These fanatics make me sick!
They call all of the time and never leave a message. Figure it must not be that important to them.
Idiots never even answered me when I picked up to tell them to QUIT calling me!!!
Looked it up is American Center for Law and Justice. They could have at least answered.
Noticed it on my caller ID Sunday and they woke me up at 8:00 a.m. Monday morning. I couldn't get to the phone on time and they did not leave a message. I'm not happy about this, I still don't know who it is but if it has to do with the pledge and God, I hope I get to the phone the next time. I bet they won't be happy then.
called and called but left no message
kkcheers108 Jul 06th, 2008
Called and called with no caller id and no reverse look up
has to do with banning God from the Pledge
Didn't answer, I figure if people can't identify themselves, I don't have to answer the phone.
