Filed a complaint with the Do Not Call registry since they're calling a cell phone that has been on the DNC list for over a year.
I got a call from them today. They have to be in debt collection. I know it's not from The Washington Post because I have never in my life subscribed to that or any other newspaper. They also used my maiden name, which was quite odd. I just told them noone by that name lives here and used a tone of voice like I had no clue who she was talking about. Hopefully that will end that. The one thing that still confuses me - I just got this new phone number 4 days ago and someone is already calling it using my maiden name that I haven't used in over 10 years.
Message says they are "LandMark", basically a telephone service company. Claim they will remove number if you leave a voice message.
Do not leave a message with your name and phone number asking to be taken off there list,it's for compiling new list of number's to be passed on and sold.I know this because my neice worked for one of these company's.
Trying To Help Dec 18th, 2007
My teenager picked up the phone and it was the Washington Post looking for an adult.
These people have been calling for the past 4 days. If I pick the phone up they hang up.
This number has been calling both my home & cell phone daily for about 3-4 days. No message. I called the number back (Landmark Group: telmarketing & debt collection) and left a firm message requesting removal from the calling list. My number is on the "do not call" registry.
Called to see if I wanted to re-subscribe to the Washington Post. Asked them to remove my number from their calling list.
Who knows - Probably Washington Post as they are looking to increase circulation so they can inflate ad sale costs.
Called several times, generally in late afternoon or night. No message. Use Google Grand Central and add to spam list!
Washington Post Oct 18th, 2007
this phone number callme at least once a day, 1 month ago until now. What happening?
This number is Landmark Teleservices. They have called my brand new phone number 11 times in 3 days, but never leave a message.
I got a brand new phone number, and within hours this number started calling. The first 2 days, it called 4 times but never left a message.
When I called back the recording said Landmark
This number calls me 2-3 times a day for the past 2-3 weeks. I picked up once and it was some girl wanting to know if I wanted to sign up with washington post again. I said no. But they keep calling. So I called back and left a message to stop calling me.
I received a call from this number three times this weekend! I answer my phone and they hang up on me. So frustrating!!!!
They called me 4 times from 8-24-07 to 8-26-07 but left no messsage. It makes me wonder if this company hired my crazy X-girlfriend from highschool.
Whoever this is, they are persistent in calling once or twice a day. I'd say that they call on average once a day and they never leave a message when the answering machine picks up.
I keep getting calls from this number, but no message. I tried blocking the number but the function does not work with this number.
i cancelled the post a week ago and specifically asked not to be called, so far two calls from this number
never will i subscribe again and maybe i will not buy the paper at all
Have had two calls from this number. Leaves no msg. Am on DNC list and have never had a problem until Comcast became our cable co.
I've been getting 1-2 calls a day from this number on my Corpus Christi cell number for a few weeks now
i live in SA TX too. been getting calls for about 2 weeks now. when i answer they hang up. if it is telemarketing they suck at their job.
they did not leave a message & it was an unknow number & unknow ID they have called several times & again no message...
No message; no one on the line.
Do not call me anymore. I donot know you. How many times call me. early morning, late night. Do not call me.
NEVER CALL BBACK A NUMBER YOUR NOT SURE OF DOING THIS CAN MAKE EXTRAS COST ON YOUR PHONE BILL ,BECUASE ACTALLY YOU ARE MAKING A CALL BACK TO THAT NUMBER FURTHER MORE YOU ARE ADDING TO LONG DISTANCE CHARGES
calls almost every day between 6 pm and 9 pm, guess I'll have to cancel my subscription to the Post
Caller has called several times. They never leave a message when picked up was disconnected. Called number back and a answering machine after numerous rings picked up and indicated that they were a survey, marketing and or collection agency. I am on do not call list. I will file FTC complaint and make demand for damages from the company.
I've blocked this number. I'm happy as a pig in mud now.
It's the Washington Post subscription operators calling. I actually picked up just so I could find out who it was.
Been getting calls from this number for about a week now - each evening around 8:45pm. Leaves no msgs. Has anyone received subseq. calls after contacting Landmark to remove their # from their list? GREAT SITE!
I've been getting dozens of phone calls each day from this number, which I never answer, and they never leave a message, so I finally called back and got the Landmark Company something or another, thanks everyone for the advice, I left my number on their recording so I'll have to wait and see if they actually take my name off of the list.
They called me at 11:10am today and on 4/26 at 3:08pm. Didn't leave a message either time. I called back & left my number to be removed from the list. Hoping that they actually do it.
They have been calling a lot. I picked up once and they hung up. I called back today and received the "this is landmark" message. I left a message asking to be taken off their list.
I am a Sunday post subscriber but I've subscribed for a few years and these calls just started in the last few months.
Well, I'm in NH, it's 6:16pm on 5/3/07, and I just got a call from this number about 10 minutes ago. Answered, heard someone talking in the background, but they hung up.
So I looked it up and found this site.
For what it's worth, I've had no affiliation with the Washington Post in over 11 years (I was a subscriber for 6 months or so back in the early 90s).
I just got call from these people--it said "unknown name" but reverse phone lookup states that they are in Fort Washington, DC. When I picked up the phone they hung up---I called back and it said that they are a company specializing in telemarketing and debt collection. Can these people be reported to the BBB.
They call once a week. I pick up and they hang up after a few seconds. Caller ID says Unknown Caller 202-470-6987. They called on 4/25 at 4:00pm and 4/18 at 8:30pm. Does this have anything to do with PostRewards program?
got a call at 9pm from this number and did not answer it (woke the kids up!). i called back and got recording saying it is "landmark"
Received a call from this number today "out of area".. funny. I live in Texas. What do they want from me?
Does not leave a message . Continues to call. Caller ID.
got call from this number twice, no msg, called back left a msg..it was something like debt collecting company.. today again recieved it, but nobody talked, called back..it didnt go to msg this time.
This # keeps calling my house and never leaves a message... I called it back and it said that the company is called Landmark and they are a telemarketing company and collection company and to leave a msg to be removed off of the list...
This number keeps calling but never leaves a message and when you call it back no-one answers.
I also live in San Antonio and they have been calling everyday for almost 2 weeks now...Never a Msg.
I have gotten several calls from this number AT MY JOB! Also, if they do have something to do with the Washington Post why would I want it I live in SAN ANTONIO TEXAS!
I just set up this number 1 week and 2 days ago and I already got a call. Didn't answer it, but they didn't leave a message either. I will check back and report if I keep getting the call.
My phone number is brand new and I have given it to no one. Since I got it (two weeks ago) I've got one call from this number (Reston) almost everyday, including today. As it has happened when I am out of home, nobody has anwered so far. I don't think it necessarily has to do with the Washington Post.
Called this number back and heard a recording saying this is "landmark customer survey" I get this call on my cell pjone everyday in the evening.
I've gotten about 30 calls from them but didn't answer, and they don't leave a message. I moved out of Virginia four months ago and cancelled my Washington Post subscription but still have a 703 area code on my cell phone. I get it now. This is a great Web site.
Been getting calls daily about twice since Friday 01/26. No clue who or what they are - looks like they are telemarketer. They're calling my work number which is crazy - but never leave a msg
Called 1/11, 1/12, and 11/13. No message. I live in Bmore, have a Bmore cell, and no connection to the Post. I did recently get service from Comcast, and those are the only people I can imagine sold my #.
Called twice, rang twice, left no messages. I called the number back and the recording identified itself as Landmark, a direct sales, fundraising, debt collection firm. I suspect they were calling me to renew my Washington Post subscription. I live in metro DC.
Ashburn VA Jan 13th, 2007
DC number with ID Reston VA, first time i've noticed that call on 1/11/2007, left no message, just dead air
They called but when I answered, no one there. Comes up as Unknown Caller.
They keep calling same time on my cell for past 2 weeks. No message. Recently cancelled Washington Post subscription. Really shady and annoying.
Start getting phone calls from this number since 12/6. Don't know what they want, never leave any messages, don't have debt, so basically don't know what they want. It's a pain
Been getting calls from this number once or twice a day (often about 11 am, then about 8 pm) every day (except Thanksgiving) since 11/22. Often rings twice then hangs up before I answer. Once I answered, no one there. I cancelled Wash Post on 11/5, so could be them. Moved into Time Warner cable area next day (got cable, but not local phone service), so could be them.
15 calls so far. Am on DNC list for cell and phone number I left (which still forwards to my cell phone), so can't tell if calls are dialed directly to my cell or forwarded from my old number.
15 total calls so far (12/3). Very annoying and disturbing. Have no debt, so not after me for that.
Rec'd this call on 11/21/06 at 5:39pm. Somebody wanting us to subscribe to the Washington Post. I've called the Post twice now asking them to remove my name from list.Plus we are on the DO Not Call list.I think it's time to call AG and file a complaint.
Called many time but did not leave a message. This time it's 11/27/06. Some bogus telemarket thing.
Washington Post (supposedly) again.
Nuisance call. I did get a call from the Washington Post recently, trying to get me to subscribe. Whether it was this number or not, I don't remember.
received a call today-Id myself and they hung up. Obviously looking for someone else-prb a collection agency
Must be the Washington Post. I recently cancelled a subscription so they're probably soliciting.
Thanks, this is a great service.
CALLED 11/16 AND EVERY DAY FOR A WEEK. They have yet to leave a message. Phone says unkown name. I don't pick up any unkown names.
I also recieve a call from this number aroung 11 to 12p.m.(11/10, 11, 12, 13) They never said anything or left a massage.
They called me on Nov. 6 at 11:37 and didn't leave a message. I just moved to VA two weeks ago and haven't given this (land line) number to anyone yet. In fact, we just bought a phone for it yesterday. Comcast is also selling phone numbers.
My phone rang three times before I picked it up. I heard some background noise and then the line went dead. I *69d the call and received this number: 2024706987.
we keep getting calls from this number sometimes after 10pm
I saw 2 missed calls from this number on my house phone today(10-26-06) and no messages. The caller name shows Reston, VA.
I too have been receiving dozens of calls from them during the last two weeks. I ignored them all, but today I found this page after doing some Googling. Like many others I was a Washington Post subscriber, and they have been calling on my cell phone. In any case, I called and left a message to have them remove my phone number, we'll see what happens.
Got them on October 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 10, 12 (twice), and 14. I'm glad to know I'm not being stalked. I never answered, because I didn't know the number.
AHHHHHHH, it's making sense now. I did send in a subscription for the Washington Post. Live in MD, but apparently too close to nowhere for them to deliver. I guess the fact that I have a VA area code cell makes them keep calling thinking I'm a prime target. I did speak to the Post before to ask that they stop calling since every time I say, Sure, sign me up, they say they can't deliver that far out.
They called again 10-18. I never answer and they never leave a msj. Landmark is the co and they are telemarketers specializing in surveys, etc. They ask that you leave your number to be taken off their list, but since I'm already on the NO NOT CALL list, and even registered my cell (which is what they keep calling) I figure it's up to them to actually CONSULT the DNC list and take my number off.
I live in MD and have been getting this hang up sort of call for quite a while. I knew it was from DC, but my experience has been pretty much the same as everyone else. My number is a cell phone and is on the do not call list, so I said one more call and I would call the FTC. Hopefully that will work.
I've been receiving daily calls from this number. Since I didn't recognize it - I've not been picking it up. Today I called to request that my name be removed
diane m smith Oct 10th, 2006
Just got Time Warner Digital Phone... They sold my number... I have already posted on another listing for a diff number too.
9-12-06 at 2:12. No msj. Didn't answer.
Same experience everyone eles has had
They called me today 9/13 -didn't leave a msg - caller id says "out of area" even though I live in the 202 area code.
I got a call from this company. They wanted me to subscribe to the Washington Post. I live in MD (301 or 240) and 202 is D.C. I said "No thank you" and hung up on the bastard. They have called three more times in the last three days and I have now called back (as said above, it's a firm that calls people for companies: can you say "Numbers sold for $$$!") and left my # to be taken off their list of people to bother. No calls yet, but it's only been a day or so.
They called - left no message.
I received a call from this number today - 9/12/06. When I answered, they simply hung up. I telphoned back and got a recorded message informing me that the firm is engaged in telemarketing and debt collection, among other things. I left a message requesting that my number be taken off their call list, firmly stating that I will report them to the FTC if they call me again. And I will.
Everyday around the same time I recieve a call from this number that rings twice, then hangs up and never leaves a message. I have called twice and asked to be removed from their lists. They are a telemarketing firm-for-hire, so they get paid by other companies to bug the hell out of people.
They called me today 9/11 - and didn't leave a message - when I called back - I got a message that said they are a telemarketing & debt collection service. They have a recording that you can leave your number to be taken off their list.
Called once on 9/6 and again on 9/8/06. Showed as out of area; when I picked up, noone was there.
Just got called from this number, I answered, said my name and the other side hung up.
Got a call on a brand new number that I have given to no one. Definitely sold by someone involved in the Time Warner digital phone process.
Called twice on 9/6/2006 with Out of Area. Did not pick up the phone.
Out of Area Sep 07th, 2006
(202) is Washington, DC, not Reston. So I believe this company is being shady.
