We foolishly had given money to these people once. That establishes us as having a "preexisting" relationship; so that overrides our do not call status. Do not give money to these people. Their cancer education program consists mainly of the fundraising materials they send out.

We are VERY tired of the American Cancer Society's calls and mail solicitations. We made a donation 2 years ago but never will again because of the harassment and misuse of funds. The small amount we contributed has been wasted many times over trying to solicit more & more from us when we have less & less.

We are on the "Do NOT Call" list and no junk mail list. Since donating to AICR, we've gotten mail & calls from Habitat for Humanity, Alzheimer's Association, NRA, American Heart Association, Diabetes Association--at least a dozen charities we have not responded to & should not be getting calls or mail from. We do not appreciate AICR's subterfuge in phony Caller ID acronyms, misuse of funds or selling our name, address and phone number to other organizations.

This is a TERRIBLE intrusion of privacy for two senior citezens , in poor health to be jumping to the phone, with no-one there---My caller Id says AICR, many, many times a day and nighttime---This must be stopped--somehow---If this is indeed, the Cancer Society, they are not making friends of people like us, who have donated for years----, but NOT thru telephone solicitations---

AICR = American Institute of Cancer Research
also uses 202-367-9225

AICR is the American Institute of Cancer Research with an aggressive and reportedly impolite fund raising program. As a charity they get a one star out of a possible four star rating. The President and VP command salaries of over $275,000 each. For a direct link to the Charity Navigator report see

The do not call list does not apply to charities. If this is indeed AICR they are not making friends. Report them to the CGB div of the FCC

Please stop calling - I am on the do not call list

Obviously the AICR is far more interested in raising money than following the Do Not Call List protocol. Consequently, they and all other similar vgreedy money grubbers will NEVER see a penny from me or any fund I control.

if the caller id said 'american cancer research society' id be slightly more inclined to pick it up then what it says at the moment, which is pretty much nothing.

Keep calling and we are on do not call list. All hours. People if we want to give money we will choose when and where. GO AWAY!!!!!!

These people are relentless and annoying. I am also on the do not call list. How can they keep doing this?
 Jun 18th, 2009
We don't answer unknown numbers, especially when they don't leave a message. They have called 2x 6/17 and once this a.m. Our phone # is on the Do Not Call list.

Okay, I have a TON of calls from these people on my call log (2 today just today). Got one tonight, didn't recognize the name of the organization calling or the number so I didn't pick up. HINT: I only give to charities I've actually HEARD OF. Another HINT: I DON'T give to charities who 'cold-call' me asking for a donation. Sorry, but I'm just not that stupid.

These people call at 8am on a "Do Not Call" line - have not answered yet - very irritating. Reverse Lookup for me shows: Gloria F Allbrook
4428 E St SE, Washington, DC 20019,(202) 367-9225 (also listed at same address as Gloria F Cole.) When you call the number you get a recording - can't get a person to ask not to be called.

Did not answer as this area code calls here often. May be related to Cancer drive calls we keep getting.
