I just received this call today (11/11/14). They told me my daughter would be arrested for delinquent taxes. However, I know this not to be true. She has always filed her taxes.
The man on the other end of the line had a thick eastern Indian accent. He was trying to get personal information from me which I would not reveal. When I called his bluff he got extremely mad. I argued with him and said I was going to report him. He said something I really couldn't understand and hung up on me.
Be aware. It's a scam.

They called and said my mother will be arrested if she doesn't pay 40,000 dollars on deliquent taxes and she will be arrested in the next 72 hours.

We were told it was the IRS office of Julie Smith and to call back so no further action is taken. When returning the call we get dead air.
All calls are automated, on the machine and in person.

I'm so surprised no one else has commented on this. Some man with a thick eastern Indian accent and dubious grammar says (paraphrased) he's Officer Brian O'Connor in charge of the investigation. The Federal Gov't is investigating my name and there's an ongoing investigation of my physical address. Please call him back at the number on the caller ID and ends with God bless you. Elsewhere this is listed as a scam (no surprise there). Report them through the proper channels and don't, DON'T, answer the phone. Don't let them get their foot in the door.
