Whoever is making these annoying calls from 201-373-8347 is not identifying themselves; instead, a recorded message is being played, something about lowering credit card interest!! This number pops up on our caller-id screen at least once a week. How on earth can I stop it?

I agree with gertie, she is so right...

Someday no one will answer these stupid calls and they'll just have to go away.

Don't answer any callers that you are not sure of!!!

I have come to the conclusion that so many of these unwanted calls from various scammers -- Free Cruise, credit card debt -- lower your rates, credit rating advice, free home alarm systems, etc, all emanate from the lawless zombie debt "collection" industry. Our household has been harassed for years by the bottom-feeding Portfolio Recovery Ass., and they are secure in their continuing brazen behaviour by the knowledge that the best Congress money can buy has been paid off. Why the heck do you think the Wall Street Journal has been piling on to Elizabeth Warren? She represents a real threat to the continued depredations of the financial sector. Just do not answer, ever.

Free Cruise on caller ID. Recorded message was offering some sort of deal on funeral expenses. I pressed 0 to try to get a real person to ask them to stop calling, and the call was cut off.
