The moron asked to speak to my wife. I explained she was not available. Then the bozo asked to speak to her again, only loud
has been calling everyday since tuesday in the evening
yulnvernow Aug 26th, 2011
hung up without leaving a message.
After many recent hang ups from this number I decided to call it back. Received a recording that said it was in regard to a magazine subscription...funny I don't have any currently. The recording listed 1-866-820-3440
as their customer service number and said to call with questions. I called it and a very pleasant lady asked for the phone number I was calling from. I hesitated to give them my number again..but after a promise that she would remove it from their list I complied. She asked how often I received calls and apologized for the inconvenience. She also apologized in advance in case I get anymore calls during the short period it takes for the removal request to go through. Hope this works because the frequent calls are annoying!! Before she hung up she said thank you for calling Special Olympics...weird!!
on behalf of PARENTS magazine....
No one would say anything when I answered.
Calls everyday between 10 AM & 11 AM - never leaves a message, hangs up after the second ring and when I did finally get to talk to someone telling them that I am on the no call list they said who cares and hung up on me. And they still call everyday but Sunday. This crap has to be put to a stop!!
Says Dial America. These clowns never leave message, they are not interested in communication with you.
Has called twice in the last 4 days. Usually before noon. Never leaves a message. Hung-up when I when I said Hello. Have never done business with this person. Am on the National Do Not Call list.
Again this morning I got a call from this number. They call every day and never leave a message or say anything wheh you say hello. The called ID gives the number and also Dial America.
They call all hours of the day and also in the evening. It is very annoying
They should not be calling as I have used the do not call center and updated recently
Egar Kinner Dec 11th, 2008
left no message and caller id showed unknown caller--they usually call several times a day
henleydawn Oct 01st, 2008
They keep calling! I even tried to answer and there is no one on the line. Very annoying
From http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/telemarketing/tel13.shtm (continued):
If you place your number on the national registry, you still can give written permission for particular companies to call you. Alternately, if you have an established business relationship, you still can ask the company not to call you. The company must honor your request, regardless of any prior written permission. And if you don
Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors are still permitted.
Organizations with which you have an established business relationship can call you for up to 18 months after your last purchase, payment, or delivery
No message left when they called me. That's annoying.
In response to other postings: If they're calling for a magazine renewal or to sell you additional magazines from a publisher you already have a subscription with, that means there IS an "existing business relationship", so the Do Not Call registry does not apply.
Get this call a couple of times a day. When I answer it, [a couple of times] there is no one on it. Very annoying.
Called at 7:39 and asked for my 15 yr. old son by name. He wasn't home and I responded that he wasn't. After reading other reports, I'm sure they were wanting him to resubscribe to a magazine whose subscription has lapsed.
They call up to 3 times a day--very annoying--never leave a message. . .ID says Hagensack, New Jersey.
Phoned on 4/22/08 at 10:50 a.m. I did not answer as I assumed it was a telemarketer. They did not leave a message.
What a great site! Just got a call from 201-373-8326 and noticed they have been calling for several days so I Googled their number and this site came up with lead me to www.donotcall.gov. I just filed a complaint, maybe that will help, but at least I know who it is calling.
Got 2 Calls:
11:20 AM March 20, 2008
It said for
Call several times a day but never leave a message
Dial America, one of the original telemarketing companies. They call multiple times in a day, and do not leave a message.
I get daily phone calls from this number - very annoying.
Calling 3 and 4 times a day - did not answer - no message left
Diane in NJ Feb 07th, 2008
Yet again on 2/4/08 @ 10:26 a.m. No message. Why do they keep calling my number?? I am on the Do Not Call list and keep filing complaints. grrrr
Called again Feb. 1st @ 10:36 a.m. - no message
Came up as Out of area 1-201-373-8326 at 10:28 A.M. Jan. 30, 2008 - No message
Tow no message calls in afternoon. Annoying
I am so sick and tired of the phone calls night and day - Leave me the heck alone. If you tell them to quick calling they more or less laugh at you.
I received a phone call from #201-373-8326..1/17/2008 about 1:45p....I picked up and they asked for my daughter. I asked to take a message, they said no message. So I called back the # and got "Dial America" answering machine. Telling me that I recently received a phone call from them regarding a renewel of a magazine subscription, that they would call back in a few days. My # in on the no calling list for telemarketers...I guess I have to relist my # on the no calling list again....
The man was RUDE and then hung up when I asked who it was
Calls every day, doesn't leave a message, sometimes only rings once or twice.
no answer when i pick up.
They've called twice but haven't left a message. Today they called at 10:03am Nov 15 2007.
Dial America calling about a magazine subscription that I once had, wanting me to renew.
All, if you are on the National Do Not Call Registry, report these to http://www.donotcall.gov. It only takes 60 seconds. That's the only way these will cease.
This is about the third call I've gotten from these jerks; they never leave a message. I'm on the "don't call" list and would love to see this company get fined.
Was from somebody in Alabama calling on behalf of the Penn State Alum Assoc.
I put a song on the cd player like "fortunate son" by john fogerty. Then turn the volume clear up and put the phone up to it. If they dont like it, to dam bad.
I get about three or four calls a week from this number.
Have some fun with the person on the other end. Don't attack the company calling, attack the caller.
I.e " Hello, what are you selling?" Holy crap, telemarketing the best you could do. Must be a pathetic life you lead. I bet in your spare time you tease dogs chained up behind fences."
Go from there. Use your imagination. The calls aren't going to stop so have as much fun as you can.
Ask the caller if they'll hold on for a moment. put the phone down and wait 5 minutes, pick it back up see if they're still on the line ( occasionally they will still be there)then ask them to hold on again. Run up they're long distance charge.
Anyway, get creative and have some fun.
Called 7 days in a row - ID showed "Out of Area". Finally got around to putting them on the call block list.
Call came in today, 9/18/2007. Did not leave a message and *69 call back could not activate. Who is this and what do they want? Caller ID says Hackensack, NJ
Order a call blocking caller ID at interceptorid.com . I love mine - you can block any number or an entire area code yet allow anyone to reach you that may live in that area code . I have all 800 etc numbers blocked and now this number too . Whenever one like this squeaks through I block them - SLASH! These companies live in fear of everyone owning one of these things .Works great !NO , I don't work for them ! Just a happy owner of one .
called 9:20am, about renewing a subscription, I said 'take us off you list' we are on DNC, she says she needs to "verify" of address to do that!, and wants our address! what a joke! I told her to get a real job and hung up. No doubt they will call back all the time now. We all ne to report this number to the government, if it is the correct number! and help them enter cell block A where they belong.
We've been getting calls from this number at least twice a day for the past two weeks. Caller ID just says "Out of Area" and they leave no message.
Two calls in two days from these people - supposedly about renewing a subscription; never heard of Dial America. We told them "no" the first time and yet they called again tonight.
AARG!! How are these people getting around the 'Do Not Call Registry'?
called asking for my wife, they were with a magazine that she gets. ( she has no subscriptions)
called at 10:52am Left no message, caller ID said Hackensack, NJ.
The number called about 2 times today but I don't know who it was...
Called numerous times and left no messages. I've read the comments above and I do understand the exasperation expressed by others concerning this party violating the "Do Not Call List". I have never subscribed to any magazines or newspapers. Nor have I used the services of AOL. I have "Opted Out" on all my credit card accounts, utilities, mortage company, financial institutions, children's schools, doctors, and any one else I do business with. I do NOT fit the criteria some of you choose as the reason to just gracefully accept these unsoliciated telephone calls. They are violating MY "Do Not Call List". It is a big deal to me. This is only one of many "businesses" who make unsolicated calls to my residence. And when I politely ask them to take my telephone number off their calling list and they choose to disregard that request, it's a big deal to me.
Becky is right. Get a grip, Sam. Find something better to do with your life.
I have received up to 8 calls a day from this number. They never leave a message and thus far, I've refused to answer.
we keep receiving these calls from the number
Looked up the number today
8/15/07 on who called.us
web site and saw the dial america name.
I email dial america today, to take our number off the do not call list
Hey BECKY! Get a clue. I have no "business relationship" with Dial America. READ THE RULES at the FTC DNC website. Three months or eighteen months tops, even if I HAD subscribed to whatever crummy rag they're pushing. I haven't subscribed to any magazine in over ten years.
I turn these idiots in to the FTC each and every time they call.
Called 08.07.07 at 10:10am. Left no message.
I searched the number on a reverse phone lookup and it is based in NJ? They didn't leave a message. I'm guessing it's that Dial America?
Called the customer service number posted here 201-327-0200
), and had a pleasant discussion with a rep who apologized for the calls and promised to remove my number from any "dialers" and remove it from their database.
Thanks to this info on call from Dial America - I went to there website, I CALLED THEM 800-526-4679
- told them to remove me from all their outbound call lists... may take a few days to remove
Call comes from Dial America per message when you call it is regarding a magazine subscription renewal. If you have a magazine subscription I guess you can't block it.
shows up Hackensack, NJ.....renewal from magazine subscription from school.
Called cand hung up when I answered.
06/30/2007 @9:39am & 06/29/2007 @8:03pm & 06/29/2007 @9:33am & 06/28/2007 @8:06pm & 06/28/2007 @6:44pm & 06/28/2007 @9:27am - comes up as "dial america". no message just a pain in the ass.
Dial America is sleezy. The used to partner with AOL. The pitch was 5 cents a minute and $5 a month. But misc charges in addition to taxes were almost $40. Hang up on Dial America.
Receive call nearly every day. Including Sunday!
Caller ID says Hackensack NJ
Just another annoying phone call -- no message so it can't be that important that they keep bugging me.
Wow, who calls at 10:20 in the morning. Do they think they will sell anything by rudely waking me up?
Upset Teen Jul 03rd, 2007
"Dial America" on caller ID for me as well ... and I'm on every Do Not Call list known. Well, okay, not the Galactic Do Not Call list. Maybe they were dialing from off-planet.
I agree with Becky's message from 4/5/07. If you've ever subscribed to any magazine, you give legal right to that company to call you; just like with your credit card company. It said that in the rules of the Do Not Call registry: if you do business with companies, they have the right to call you. Either do what Becky suggested and say no to the renewal and ask to be taken off the list, or just ignore the calls and ride it out. I find turning off the ringer on the phone helps for any early morning calls.
They called, got the machine, didn't leave a message. Maybe it's cuz I'm letting my New Yorker subscription lapse (again...)
eatyourbeets Jun 06th, 2007
They call almost daily...no messages are ever left. My caller I.D. identifies them as Dial America because I block all unknown callers.
I don't think anyone is overreacting here....We have a online phone number (Via AOL) that we give out to companies that we purchase from so that we don't get calls at home....Dial America is actually violating the Do Not Call list, at least in my case.
Called 8:20pm rang 3 times hung up. Answering machine picks up on 4th ring they hung up before it could pick up. Hmmm repeat caller for me, guess they're used to the machine picking up on them.
Keeps calling but never leaves a message. I don't answer the phone if I don't know who's calling. I figure if it is important they will leave a message!
Called us at least 10 times. ID says Hackensack, NJ
They called and would not get off the phone. They wanted to renew a Women's Day magazine - reported to the Do Not Call Regisrty
They will not stop calling. Wanting to renew magazine subscriptions.
Hackensack, NJ showed up on caller id. I answered and could hear people talking, but no one said anything.
Four calls so far, 1st two live voice from US NEWS and World Report Mag renewal. 2nd two, recorded message saying it was from a telemarketing company trying to reach me and then hung up.
Filed complaints at donot call.gov
Called on Friday, April 20, 2007 @ 5:57 P.M.. Showed number but Unknown Name came up on Caller I.D.
Called yesterday and today--just 2 rings, didn't wait for machine to come on, caller ID said "out of area"
Really, everyone is over acting here. I would put money on it that every single one of you getting these calls gave your name, address and telephone number when you subscribed to any and every magazine in your house, how else would they be getting names of spouses & family members that the phones are NOT listed to? The DNC list is not going to help you here, since YOU or your family member gave out your phone number for the subscription, so legally they can call you. Take their call, listen to the magazine (that you already subscribe to) price for renewal and tell them you are not interested & please remove your name. They will mark you off as no renewal and move on. Geeshe. Save the real reporting to true telemarketing scums out there that you have NEVER had any buisness with.
Becky Again Apr 05th, 2007
Parents have been getting these calls all the time. Dial America is a third party firm that calls when your magazine subscriptions are up. If you gave your phone number when you signed up, the legally have the right to call you - they never take payment information over the phone, they renew your subscription and you get billed like you normally would.
No big deal scam or anything going on here, other than the annoying auto dialer system.
If you keep getting these types of calls, file a complaint with:
and requested to be taken off of Dial America list after they called tonight. I'm on the national and state do-not-call lists but they don't seem to care. We'll see if they stop.
midwestate Apr 03rd, 2007
called at least twice a day for several days.. very early and late at night. Wish they would give up trying...
Called at 10:16 a.m. Asked for my wife. I said wife was out, and asked if I could take a message. Caller said "we can try back later, there is no message," and hung up.
I let it go to voicemail and it had already hung up. CID said 'Dial America' I called the # back and got some lady asleep in bed (this was Saturday morning). Apparently Dial America is spoofing their CID phone number.
Rang once 9:16am Saterday morning, On do not call list, Blocked number
3 times today. unknown name with number. they are really getting to be a pain.
left no messages. hung up on 4th ring like they know that's when the answering machine will kick in.
Dial America calls at least 2x a day for weeks now. I reported them to the federal do not call site. Maybe they will stop when they have to pay a fine.
receive at least 1-2 a day at least the last week. unknown name, just phone #. they don't even leave a message on the answering machine.
called and mis pronounced the wifes name...said no one by that name lived here. I hate marketers..maybe next time I'll answer in spanish or german, really tick em off.
