Lu: The DNC registry is for telemarketers, meaning sales, meaning all debt collectors are exempt. This fact was not kept secret from you when you registered your numbers. A cease-comm notice, and really any notice to a collector, should be sent USPS Certified with card to best preserve your rights and ability to sue for violations.

This was a recorded message and I have reported it to the Do Not call registry. I have told these people to stop calling, they did for a while. It is about a disputed debt from 10 + years ago! these people are bottom feeders! They buy old debts and try to collect on them by keeping it on your credit report.(which I told to the credit reporting agencies)
Deb, mine was also an ATT wireless problem from more than 10 yrs ago.
Let's get that name right: Palisades ... They bought reams of junk debt a while back from what became Mann Bracken, another chronic lawbreaker. Mann Bracken mercifully was crushed into powder a year ago under the weight of Fair Debt lawsuits. Palisades has no better reputation, and should be challenged all the way.
I doubt Palisades can prove its claim, Deb. Make them validate and ban calls if you want to have fun watching for violations to sue over, or merely send a cease-comm. The FTC and various consumer groups explain how.
If you are receiving repeated, misdirected, and/or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, the Federal law which regulates collector behavior. Learn your rights at FTC-dot-gov. See also your state laws for additional support.

The debt is 10 years old way past the time limit to collect even if it WAS valid. It is not and they will NOT stop calling me!!
They say that they're calling re Richard A Lockwood but we don't know who that is.
