It's embarrassing to say, but I fell for the credit card scam. I know all about this. I had just arrived home and answered the phone. Prev. calls of the same, but never answered. This time I did. They immediately began asking for info. I was worn out. That is all that can explain why I did this. I gave them more info than what I should of. I gave them 3 account numbers. They wanted one of them to have at least $3000 charged to the acct. and an interest rate of 13% or more. Only one card met their acceptance to help me lower my credit card rates. After all of this talk and switching from one rep to another they finally ended this. I also was supposedly taped in one of the final agreements with them. I talked to 2 people. One said his name was Steve Stolson. A call back number they gave me for any questions is 877-281-3050. I was to get a $500 gas rebate if all of this worked out. It was guaranteed that I would save $2500 a year with the lower rates. At the end of the conversation they slipped in a surprise for me. "Because my credit is so good, I will not have to pay the $2650 fee that those with bad credit have to do to get this program to lower rates started. They mentioned that I would have to pay anything until the end. That is when they began speaking fast, which made it hard to understand. By then my head was swirling. (Again, I remind you, I was very worn out from the work week.) So right at the end they ask me if it is OK to charge the lower fee of $699.00 to one of my accounts. I accepted and soon all was over. They congratulated me for qualifying so many times. (Keeping the client excited about these possible lower rates on all my accounts!) Later, after finally getting off the 45 min. phone call, it hit me. I was scammed! I knew ab. this and I still fell for it. I had ignored that message on voice mail repeatedly! Ahhh! I called all of my accounts and closed all the current account numbers. Guess what was on one of them already. $699.00 In a few days I will be able to have that removed. Whew! DON'T ALLOW YOURSELF TO FALL FOR THIS. IF YOU ANSWER IT, IMMEDIATELY ASK WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY WANT. DON'T LET THEM CARRY ON A CONVERSATION WITH YOU. SEE WHAT YOU CAN GET OUT OF THEM. Somewhere along the line I did see Orlando, FL. I forget where I got that info., but I believe they gave it to me so that when the package arrived for the contract info. to be filled out, the info. package had to be mailed back to Orlando. I may actually get this package. When I do I will share more. I hope this helps.
