I keep getting calls from this number on my cell phone and they claim that I have defrauded several banks and that I have outstanding payday loans. This is not true whatsoever, my credit is in good standing. They have also called my job. The day that "Steve Freeman" called my office, my cube mate answered and he asked for me, told her that I have legal allegations against me and to put me on the phone immediately. As soon as I picked up the phone, didnt even state my name yet, and he starts yelling at me and threatening to get me fired for not paying my outstanding debt.I lost it. I went off on him and told him never to call my place of business again or I will report him for harrassment. My best friend and I decided to call the number back on our lunch break to see if we could get anymore information from "Steve". Well, my friend called from my cell phone and we blocked the number. She didnt even state who she was or anything. "Steve" rambled off my ENTIRE social security number to her, my bank account number, home address, email address and stated that I am in a ton of trouble, all the while avoiding giving the details she had asked for that a real debt collector would feel free to give: a full name, address of company, and the name and address of the company that I supposedly had a loan from. Instead, what she got was cussed out, threatened, and hung up on. When she called back, she was told the account was "red flagged" and all legal documents would be sent. So after all this escapade, I had to contact social security to red flag my number, my bank to heighten security on my account, file a police report, and search for any other help I could get on who I need to report this to. All I can say, this has been a total nightmare and I have no clue how they got any of my information.

The caller was male, thick-middle eastern accent, in his message said his name was "John Smith", asked for "Martha", said there were "serious charges against me and my social security number" and that I better call back before "anything went wrong with me" So I called them back...and the number is no good. Most irritating So then I called the call back number he left on his message 347-625-3715 I was super polite, I asked to speak to the man who left me a message, told him I couldn't quite understand what he was saying on the answering machine. He asked for my phone number so I gave it to him (they have it anyway) First they asked If I was one person, and I said that was incorrect, then they asked if I was Martha I said "that is also incorrect" He started to speak rapidly in a foreign language I could here lots of people speaking in a foreign language in the back ground and hung up on me.

You want to know how to really screw with these goofs and help relieve some anxiety on your part? BLOCK YOUR NUMBER, call them back at the number they leave on your voice mail after a little while, and have fun. Keep calling them back over and over. Tonight I got one guy so mad he last answered his phone with just “hello” and now won’t answer at all and his voice mail box mysteriously will not accept any more messages…..Gee, I wonder why??
Since these creeps darn near cost me my job, I decided nothing was off-limits. I told him his ancestors were mud eating pigs, that I did his sister and she loved every minute of it, that I’d do him if he didn’t like it, that his mother had been in more laps than a napkin, that his girl had been around more times than a carousel, and on and on. I asked him about his female plumbing…..oh man I laughed so hard by the time I was done I had tears in my eyes…and these smileballs deserve every bit of it.
It seems they can dish the crap out but can’t take it very well.
Don’t put up with them……..get yours back!!

Received a call from 052-497-347 telling me that Michael Bean had an emergency. Caller had an extremely heavy accent. I told them I didn't know a Michael Bean. They changed the name to "My-shell" Bean. When I said that I didn't know that individual either and that the only two men I know with the last name of Bean are Mark and Matthew, the caller hung up on me.

To anyone receiving these calls:
They are a scam.
They get your info from the internet by phishing.
If they mention your bank account number, change it immediately.
Never use the internet to apply for a loan!
When doing business on the internet, make sure the site is https, not just http (check the address bar).
Https means your info is encrypted and not viewable by third parties.
Never give personal info over the phone unless you initiate the call!
This has been going on for years, and they can't be caught because they operate out of Nigeria, and their government does not cooperate with the US, therefore no extradition rights.
I hope this helps, they are extremely annoying and bad people, but if you're careful, they are harmlessCaller: Affidavit Server, or another rhony name

I received a call at work at at home yesterday. Very heavy Indonesian accent, could barely understand them. They said they were calling from the legal department and that I owed money on a payday loan. They had my phone numbers and the last four digits of my SSN, very scary. I told them I did not have any outstanding payday loans with anyone, they said they were filing documents to the courthouse, I said good I would love to see them in court and tell the judge how they tried to extort money from me, they then hung up. It's a scam, I have reported it to the BBB and my AGO. I work for a large law firm and reported it to the CEO who now plans to have the numner blocked from our phone system.

They are a scam, nothing more. If they call you, mock them. Insult them. I got them so crazy mad at me I had tears coming out of my eyes. All it took was for me to call them scammers for them to lose their cool.

Just keep at them and then hang up. And then, file complaints, most of which you can do online, with the FBI, Secret Service, FCC, Internet Crime Division of the FBI, your AGO, and perhaps your local police. Read up about the scammers on the web. It will take a team effort from law enforcement to stop them if the calls are coming from out of the country, as many believe they are, so make sure you inform the law enforcement community on all levels of these scammer's harassment, threats and attempted extortion of you. Also, inform the media so they can warn the public not to fall for this scam.

Meanwhile, if you feel like dealing with them, have fun with it and make them mad. Refuse to give them any information. Call them names, whatever. Just don't stress over it.

DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THESE PEOPLE, THIS IS A SCAM!!!

The callers have a very think East Indian accent, they call and claim that you owe a large debt and that if you do not give your credit card or banking information that they will send someone to arrest you.

1. A valid debt collector WILL NOT demand payment via Bank or Credit card ONLY.
2. It is illegal for them to threaten to arrest you or harm you in any way.
3. A Valid Debt collector must produce, in writing something showing that you owe the debt, if it is a 3rd party collector they must show who the original debt is owed to.

This company is NOT a division of the FDIC as they claim. Do not be intimidated by them. Ask them to send proof of the debt by e-mail, if they send by e-mail you will be helping when reporting this to the appropriate agencies, the IP address can provide alot of information to the agencies with the ways and means to investigate.

REPORT THESE CALLS TO THE FOLLOWING AGENCIES:

1. Your Local Police Department
2. The Better Business Bureau
3. Your State Attorney General's office.
4. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC)
5. The Internet Crime Division (this is a division of the FBI) www.ic3.gov
