Calling despite being registered on no call preference list and using autodialler resulting in silent calls. Asked them to remove us from list without any success.

Ok the short version ! mother 75, son orders a stair lift from Acorn stair lifts
They then bombard my mother sometimes five times a week with high pressure sales tactics to get her to spend

Brian, like your form of driect action - perhaps you could set a man trap for when the salesman calls? Jamie, Anon and Jas you are all kill joys and need to get lives. Jamie, you in particular need to listen to some relaxation tapes to help alleviate your psychosis. GB you are far too sensible to be posting helpful advice amongst this bunch of looney tunes!

I just called First Contact and spoke to a MR Martin Sharpe. It is from this company that these calls are coming from. I received 20 calls today. My mother is aged and actually fell trying to anser our phone. I have contacted the police and I will do everything in my power to get these people stopped!

I keep getting calls from this number 015-352-97160, it's silent for a while then they speak (I think they have an auto-dialler). They keep asking for Mr Quinn. I've no idea who this Mr Quinn is but they persist in calling. If they're a stairlift company shall I tell them this is a bungalow???

I tried to return their call - you know that's a dead end. I called OTELO who referred me to OFCOM. OFCOM took note of the complaint. I called the free phone number 080-019-1919 and the man was quite arrogant but did volunteer this number 01535 291 000. Calling this number the lady was more helpful and my telephone number has been removed from their calling list. I recommend that you do two things - complain politely to OFCOM 0845-456-3000 and also complain and instruct 01535 291 000 to stop calling you. That way you shouldn't be bothered again and hopefully, with enough complaints, OFCOM will put an end to Acorn Stairlifts bothering anyone else.

With a little research I found out that the company responsible is called Acorn Stair lifts ltd
Registered No 03220389
TELECOM HOUSE MILLENNIUM BUSINESS PARK STATION ROAD STEETON BRADFORD WEST YORKSHIRE BD20 6RB

I have reported the Number 015-352-97160 to ofcom. you may wish to do the same.

http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/landline/silent/?itemid=284912

I rang their freephone number 0800 191919 that they advertise on their website
They said it was 'nothing to do with them' as it was another part of the company, the 'First Contact' dept. I was given the number 01535 291000. When I rang that number I got an automated answer which said I was being put through... but then it just rang out. I guess they were busy annoying other people.

rang the 0800 191919 number again and said I would keep ringing them until they did something... I was told they would make a note of my number and report me for harassment. I can't wait for that call :)
by the way; do not do this

3 time this company has called. each time a recorded message saying they will call me back.
If you call there number you get a recorded message saying they will call again in 14 days... usually a lot sooner.

If I ever get to speak to a person they will receive a large order for whatever it is they are selling... and then it will get cancelled... and then reordered and so on... see if they like it
