Had a missed call from this number, phoned them back and they said I could reclaim all previous payment protection payments I had made. They wanted my bank details etc but I refused to give them out.

This number called me this afternoon, as I did not recognise the number I ignored the call. They did not leave an answerphone message so I assumed that it was not important. I googled the number and read the tips below, thank you to all those who have commented.

They called to tell me that I had been sold payment protection by somebody (either a credit card of mortgage company, they did not know) and that it had been sold illegally so I was due a refund of £59.99 They asked for my postcode, address and then bank card details. i refused to give them over the phone without a written letter through the post. They said they would send me the documents but I still refused to give my details and they said bye. All sounded very legitimate until they asked for bank card details.

Scam apparently claiming they can help you reclaim bank charges for illegal Payment Protection Insurance and ends up wanting to take down your bank details. Do not answer!
