called twice - ignoring my outgoing number is disconnected message.

i havent even had my NEW cell phone number 1 DAY and already i have gotten this call and 7 others ( two invalid 11 digits numbers and at least spoofed disconnected number). i am not going to setup my voice mail for a week and see what that does.

got call on my 2 hour old cell phone number (just got it changed and havent given it out). i called number back ... number is disconnected. signs of an obvious scam.

i have never given my cell phone number out. i just got it in march 2011. they filled up my voicemail with hold music twice when i left my cell phone off (what i there was an emergency in the family ???) when i left my cell phone off. if i reject call they dont leave message. and i start my outgoing meassage with SIT tones. havent had a message in my cell voicemail when i not answer cell phone. in fact i have a ringtone that is silence. every now and then i see if someone IMPORTANT called. nope. just them. much more of this and i will get my cell phone number changed. i only use it for outgoing calls..i dont want to call from other than a pay phone and i cant find one anymore to tell em that there is no way the call is for me (in fact one caller asked for jah-el sp? ... not me !!!).

i think, according to the FDCPA, it is illegal for debt collectors to call cell phones as it makes the amount owed higher having to spend cell phone $. basically it is making the debt more without going through proper legal channels, which is a no no. so tell them they are calling a cell phone and you think they are in violation of FDCPA since its costing money to talk to them.

btw: Once a debt passes beyond the statute of limitation in your state, a debt collector no longer has the right to sue you for payment. You may still have a moral obligation to pay back an old, forgotten debt, but you can't be sued over it. Any debt collector who threatens to sue you over a debt that is beyond the statute of limitation in your state is in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

813-274-1837 called my cell phone again. i have added to my recorded message to capitol one which made my outgoing message really long. and so, evidentally it is a robo call / hear pick up and start message / or a very stupid person because the message left by "linda" was more than half over and started near the end where it has of the number to cal (only part of the number to call was recorded).

"this cell phone number has a new owner with NO way to contact prior owners. Capitol One: Linda - i cannot help you. please do not call again."
i usually have my cell phone OFF because i use it for outgoing and emergencies only. plus, i have NOT given the number out so any call cannot be from anyone i know..

if it is from lupus why isnt that in the caller id. i smell a scammer or a collection agency. especially with unavailable id.

keeps calling about everyday around 6:30 pm. message left sounds like a bunch of callers in background but hangs up.

no message but i bet it is not rent a center but a scammer in frisco tx.

its ars collection agency as the number has been spoofed(?) before it came from unknown number. and it is 1 different from 7037630677 which has been reported else where as ARS (and i got a call from ARS).

i called back. why would a disconnected number call ???

message on hold. asked for mr XXXX twice then hung up. other sites say when number is called back it is an unassigned cell phone number. i.e. scammer / spoofer. may id themeselves as cancer charity (or other) do not give any money or info.

2009 7 29 940 am. a recording left the call jenifer message number. wish i had been awake to give them the recording of "you have been told not to call us. take us off your call list. if you want to communicate, do it in writing."

i think this is a group that calls about debts that are past statute of limitations (sol). check with your state most sols are 5 years or less from last transaction with original debtor. judgements can be longer (va's can be extended to 20 years).

if you agree to anything or pay ... you just reset the debt clock.

2009/07/23 1207pm - ltd financial called. left no message. if they call again i will press my radio shack quick hangup's button to play recording i made of: sit tone and announcement that we do not take this type of call. or play message from my build-a-bear voice recorder that says "you have been told not to call us anymore. take us off your call list. if you wish to communicate, do it in writing."
(i should add a sit tone in front of it but it can only play about 10 - 15 second recording.)

do not cave in a proceed to pay ... if it was an past stature of limitation (check your state laws) they cannot try to collect on it and shouldnt be trying to .... however, if you do pay or say youll pay ... it starts the clock ticking again from that point.

why did thiu number give 1 800 360 4319 as a call back number to jennifer .... i found out through various sites that this is a billing scam.

before i have played sit tones, do not call, said more calls are considered harrasment and will be reported to authorities for further action many times. harassment (calling when told not to - written or otherwise - is illegal under all circumstances. if telemarkeing or creditor (per FDCPA) it is a felony (federal offense - violation of federal law).

i just saw my newer caller ids. 646-367-3289 left music filling my machine and prevented a few IMPORTANT CALLS from getting through ... a family member has been diagnosed as having cancer.

12/18/2008 12:50pm couldnt leave a message if they wanted to, because 646-367-3289 played music untill the machine was full (preventing a message about a household memeber having car problems - a 83 year old lady had to take taxi home rather than get picked up and car fixed).

i am getting a caller id based call blocking machine (at least i will not hear the phone ring. though i dont anyways i sleep too far from phone) )
i wonder if these people get laid off if they do not produce anything after x calls.

some time ago the music played like 3 minutes or more (till my machine ran out) for this caller.
