All others go to voicemail. You can create a similar list through Google Voice. So all telemarketers will go to voicemail where 99% of them will not leave a message. What about important calls from numbers not on your White List, you ask. When a voicemail message is left, in addition to my phone blinking and a pulsating dial tone, I get an immediate text message on my cellphone with the number of who called. I do get all the numbers of those who try to call me on my provider's call log and that's why I come here; to check out the number to see if it is a telemarketer. But they don't ring my phone and rarely bother me with a message.

This is the official phone number for Villanova University in Villanova, PA. They are making an attempt to contact all alumni, and in doing so, are acting just like telemarketers. They hang up as soon as their call goes to voicemail, never leave a message, and call back over and over again on an almost daily basis. Someone at this overpriced institution of higher learning should be able to take a hint that not all people feel the obligation to answer their phones every time it rings and that the only way they will be able to get through to the person is to leave a message. But maybe that is beyond their comprehension. It is a true pity that those involved in this marketing at Villanova have stooped as low as the telemarketing scum that pervade the phone lines.

Lost dog service. Gave first name of 'neighbor' who lost her dog, a description of the dog and date dog was lost as well as a local number to call if dog was found. No idea who neighbor is or how they got to use my phone number. I guess it's legitimate.

Mentioned word "cancer", said not asking for money, I asked to be put on her Do Not Call list and she continued to talk as I hung up.
