Preferred Westjet customer press 1 to claim prize SCAM

I mean CRTC (filed through this site and I called and gave them as much info as I could about the incident: lnnte-dncl.gc.ca)

Okay I juat filed an official complaint with the CTRC

I answered and had a VERY interesting and revealing conversation with this indian sounding man who made this unsolicited call from EB Homes Air Duct Cleaning ?? (or something like that? I tried doing a 2-way record but since I don't do that a lot I screwed it up..)

The man on the line who called me (I did not get his name) admitted that he got my number from the net .. precisely from Gmail. Now my fiance just got his Gmail account hacked. Coincidence? Perhaps but I am still investigating this one. This scammer called the wrong person!

First of all, I have his number (760-705-8888 - he said he was calling from Canada because I asked what country he was calling from with his accent and all and me not being familiar with the area code) and I am on the National DO NOT CALL Registry (which I checked and it is NOT expired yet). When I made mention of this he said something in his language to someone else in the room and then hung up on me. All I understood was "Do not call" .. didn't get a chance to ask to be taken off the calling list.

I was on the other line so I didn't answer because I didn't recognize it but this was the info on the caller ID:

Okay Bell Canada said it is NOT them so I am seeing about BLOCKING that number

Bell said I am already on the National Do Not Call List so they are adding me to the Internal Do Not Call List.

They just called again, this time I answered .. they did make noise (sounded like they took it off speaker and picked it up to talk .. but then silence .. did they hang up? What is this? This is sooo annoying! I am calling my phone company right now to find out what this is about.

Keeps calling but never leaves a message. I suspect it is Bell still trying to get me to sign up to be a Satellite user but I already told them NO! They keep sending me mail and used to call from an 866 number that said Bell but now don't because I never answered. They never leave a message. They are persistent and don't take no for an answer and I can't get them to stop only because I have normal phone with them...

Called while I was out so my answering machine got it.

What was recorded was odd and made me want to look this one up:

Silence ........ and then a computerized woman's voice saying, "Good Bye and Thank You for Calling."


What?? I wasn't even HOME! How could I have called. So that made me wonder what THAT was about.

Okay they are calling everyone now to put in Bell Satellite into homes. They are really pushing that in my apartment building right now saying that the apartment manager now has a deal with them to put one dish on the roof. When I talked to the girl she was so very very pushy and "so when do you want the tech to come out to set you up?" and I was like, "I didn't say I wanted it" and she was like, "but the deal runs for only a limited time" as if I was crazy to turn it down. So I said I would have to think about it and she said okay when can we call you back and I said Tuesday. Now it is Thursday (over a week later) of the next week and finally they are calling me like crazy today. Well the way I see it, if they can't call the day they say, they are JUST as bad as Cogeco and I am already with them. Why switch? Their customer service decided it for me.

5th time they called! They are worse than phone solicitations!! They keep interrupting phone calls that are more important to me than them!

4th time they called today!!!!!!

Oops I didn't sign in, but yeah, this one has called me a lot so I was about to answer because the number is starting to look familiar. But all long distance people I know who called are programed into my phone and I noticed this one simply said Long Distance (250) 412-8815 ...

Messages me (txt) and asks if I am so and so (my name) and I ask who this is and he won't tell me saying I didn't answer his question. I told him he called me so he has to tell me who he is before I will divulge anything. He says a friend gave him my number and I tell him my friends don't give out my number without my permission. Then he says he found my number and was bet he wouldn't call me. I told him I Am not the person he is looking for.

He keeps messaging me and I still have no clue who this guy is so I thought I better post it here because all I can figure is he is some kid who likes to prank call people. But for my txt costs money and I am not too happy. Doing a search online says that he is through Bell Mobility so tomorrow I will be calling them up to report spammed calls from that number.

949-256-9110 just called again. This time I found out why when the answering machine picks up you only hear them hang up. Because it is automated but they start talking as soon as the answering machine does and do not wait for the beep. This time I had picked up the phone while my answering machine just kicked on so my answering machine didn't realize I picked up and was playing and I heard the recording this time. The recording of 949-256-9110 was in the process and was already at the part where the lady says "this is your final courtesy call" ...

In other wards it was that Credit Card one .. which I do not OWN any and I have had this number for over 5 years so it is not like they have the wrong number!

3rd number to call me in 2 days with the same type of thing .. it is getting really bad .. first off .. I do NOT OWN credit cards! 2nd .. I did that opt out which seemed to work only for maybe 6 months ..

949-256-9110 this time at 4:15pm EST Wed Nov 18th 2009 but last 2 times were from 9048630217 and 9048630208

I wish they would leave me alone! Isn't there a way to stop the harassment? It would be different if I actually OWNED any credit cards!

Says the same thing all the time ...

"THIS IS AN IMPORTANT CALL ABOUT YOUR CREDIT CARD"

and it is always a recording so I can't tell them "I do not OWN credit cards since claiming bankruptcy in 2002! Geeze!!"

They are annoying ..

Called from Long Distance - 904-863-0208 but didn't leave a message. I don't answer any numbers that are not already programmed into my phone or are not recognized.
