The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number,
All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want

This call actually came up as a ten digit 15109433040 which may indicate international origin. They called and didn't leave a voicemail but stayed on the line waiting for someone to pick up. I could hear callcentre noise in the background and the muted beep as they hit the hang-up button.
Got a silent voicemail from 604-998-4689 on June 3, 2011 @ 4:50pm, no idea why
This number 905-905-7888 left a voicemail for me that was nothing but a couple beeps, (probably made these noises while hanging up?) as I wasn't home this message was received on May 25th at 10:08 am PST in British Columbia, Canada
I am registered on the national Do Not Call list in both Canada and the US and I still got called from this number. All I got was a blank voicemail that was left five minutes ago.
The following number 604-581-1505 left a blank message about 5 seconds long @ 10:46 AM (PST). I Googled it and found that it belongs to "Fitness World Fitness Centre, Credit Dept, 13777 103 Avenue, Surrey, BC V3T5B5, Canada". Never owned a gym membership in my life.
No message recorded @ 10:57 AM PST, just a beep (sounded as if I were supposed to leave a message?) It's possible it was a callwaiting beep but it is unlikely as I don't have another message in my voicemailbox.
No message, just a hang-up after about 10 seconds of silence.
Linda at Cardholder Services (what Credit Card company?), calling in reference to your account, it is urgent that I contact them about lowering my interest rates, must be at least $5000 in debt to be eligible, blah blah, press one to speak to an agent, and nine to discontinue further notices. Obvious cold calling automated system left a voicemail for me to press their number prompts, yeeesh!

This number called me twice over three days. Since the caller doesn't speak during these 10 second voicemails, I can hear the background sounds of a call centre amplified in volume (keyboards typing and voices questioning). However I did speak to a fraudulent caller from "Computer Security" over a month ago that was performing this Microsoft scam described by other users here (I didn't catch the number that time, bummer). Up until a few years ago I used to work as a computer tech, so I managed to lead this guy on for quite some time trying to obfuscate his methods, all the while pretending I was enthusiastic about his urgent operating system repairs. This charade became a bit circular as his techincal ability was quite basic and started to show irrelevance... so I got bored. I confessed that his suggestions weren't accurate, the issues he said existed didn't apply to Windows 7, and the PC he was helping me with worked perfectly even though yes indeed it was slower than when I bought it. He seemed pissed that he wasted his time thinking I was a basic user, and I got a good laugh when he hung up during my request to be added to his "Do Not Call List".
