The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want
As consumers you do have the right to tell them that you feel their calls are harassing. Mention the Fair Debt and Collection Practices Act.
Also, you have the right to sue them if they continue.
They've been harassing my Mother for about 2 months now. The thing is, they can't leave a message because that would count as a customer contact, so you will have to answer the phone, tell them that you want an address or fax number so you can send them a letter requesting that they stop calling.
They are not practicing legal collections procedures and if enough people start fighting back, they will be forced to stop or a law suit will ensue.
Even if you ARE a deadbeat, they can't harass you.
That is the law.
