Fake telphone numbercalled this afternoon (2013-02-01), Greeting plays the usual. This time after the transfer and ring to an agent, the agent was havingdifficultyspeakingclearly,and another agent jumped into the line. The secondagend didnot identify herself. (Fault # 2 of the Scammers). Sheproceedded to ask about mycredit cards and if any of them were visa or Master card. Isaid yes they ere both, but theM/C has Zerobalnce,and visa is held out of country. Threw them for a loop, she asked what the card number was. I replied "And towhoam I speaking with and what is your number?" Agent gave the CanadianNumberforMAster Card Operations, but thenwhenI pushed for an extension, she gave a three digit number for the extension.

*** MAsterCard in Canada has more than 1000 phones at their call centre. So she was basically lying.

DO NOT TRUST ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU to BE WHO they ARE. ASk for their number, and then CALL Them back at their LOCAL Number.

Caller Called from a company purporting to be debt savers aka billsdebt.net and If Iwould like to reduce my CC Interest Rates. Called from same number at 5:xx PM, then again at 7:30 approx. Both times when the phone was answered with Hello? there was nothing and 30seonds later the line went dead. My guess is since I have reproted them to the CRTC, they now want to not answer their own robo dialer calls. Funny though, *57 (Harrassing Call Trace works OK),amd my camera picks up the photos of the call display for court purposes. We will win the war against these no-name SCAM artists. Ipsos-Reid with a Survey on Behalf of Change Canada, doing a survey on Extended Healthcare facilities. Caller ID says "Unknown Name". Asked for Callback from Supervisor re call Process. Confirmed Company, and location. Location is 185 Carleton Street in Winnipeg MB, but they use the 514 number (or they claim) so that returned calls get either a live operator or a Recording saying who they are. Still a bad practice, not to have the name IPSOS-REID on the CALLER-NAME, Supervisor claimed that due to changing clients was difficult to change the name, again a BAD Practice, as the Nmae of the Survey co will not change too often. Preamble of agent was to long , asked to shorten.

2nd phone call in two days , claims to be survey outfit [Ipsos Reid]? from winnipeg, but Phone area code is from Montreal (514). Agent was unable to give a Local Phone number in Winnipeg, gave a 800 number. (800 numbers are not local -they are toll-free). Politely declined to speak with agent further, as he was unable to give a local contact number. Claims to be Doing a survey on 'Healthcare' on extended care services.

Thick Tamil/Indian accent. see 800notes.com . Special this week 800sq ft home $110.00 all fees inclusive. He says will sanitize and make house much more pleasant. I tell Him I have no Ducts. He asks if it is electric? No Reply 'Hot Water'. He confirms by asking 'Hot Water Registers', I confirm, He Appolgized for taking my time. said goodbye. Did'nt get a chance to confirm his employer.

Another of those press 1 for Credit Card Interest Rate Reduction Calls. Let the message play out5times, never once mentioned the name of the company 250-352 is in Nelson BC, Canada , but Directory Assistance (Canada411) has *NO* listings under that number. I can assume that the number displayed is fake. Report them to CRTC, as they do not specify who they are, and there is no Clear Callback number in the message.

'Agent1' Called to say that they were calling this evening to let me know about their 'special' on now,about carpet cleaning. I asked IF they used the federal Do-Not-Call-List. The Agent replied that this is an Inbound Call Centre.and they use their own internal list. I asked (To confirm the number dialed) waht number they were calling.The agent responded with the correct number. Iasked to be removed from their list. The agent said she will remove the phone number from the system, and apologized for bothering me! (Very polite)

Received a call from 416-277-1688 at 4:45 PM today, was not home to answer the call, AS I had stepped out for 15 minutes. When I came back, the Call-ID Display showed the number but there was no Message. Some other Reciients of these calls have indicated that it was "Air Duct Cleaning" or similar, with heavily accented Telemarketers calling. Possibly a Call centre from Off SHore. Have doine call Trace as I am on the DNCL, and unless I have a prior activity with this firm, or they are an exempt caller, "Leave a Message when the tone goes Beep".

Received a Call from 'Credit Debt Reduction Service', 701-625-5003 SHows as a Mobile Phone, from Martin, ND. Robo MAchine says press 1 to GEt name removed from List (AS if!), and to press 2 to speak to live agent. (I Press 2), Speak with a polite agent, 'Devon', I ask if this call centre is in Canada, as I am on the Do-Not-Call List, but its broken for US callers.(Never was supposed to stop ROBO callers from a FOREIGN Country!). I ask her to confirm the number that was dialed, and she does, She says she will put my number on the (Internal?) Do-Not-Call List. I thank her for her time, and Wish her a great day with helping other 'Clients'. We'll See if this number rings again!.

Agent Thanked me for time to complete survey. Declined to participate in Rewards program for Surveys(Was proably looking for clients for other focus groups). We Shall See.

Bill COllector for an account that wa Closed in 2009 with Cogeco Cable of Burlington ON. WAS for a 180 Bill that Cogeco added after I had asked to have my service Terminated, and and Zero balnce was owing after the disconnection. It WAS supposed to be looked after in November 2009, but wasnt. We'll see if this one works out. Cogeco did commit to re-Zero the account and to inform the collections agency. This time I asked to send me proof after they zero the account (Again!).

Called back number 'Angela' confirms that they have a telemarketing campaign, and it includes my town. Claims that Claims that they 'Purchase' lists from Canada411. [Lie as No Telemarketing Co Sells the list they only rent them for a fixed term] Claims Supervisor Barry not in office currently (lunch time). I ask who the Sales Rep is from Canada411, Angela referrs me on to 'Barry', the 'Owner'. and for me to call back at 2:30 PM

Received Several Calls from 905-413-8639. No Reverse Lookup from Canada411.com, but 800Notes shows as being "Some Collection Agency". Since they do not wish to disclose the name on Caller-ID. I do not wish to be bothered.

Technician was calling to follow up on report from 979-446-0366, and reported that there were no calls using their Long Distance Network during the time frame given, 12:00 to 12:09 PM (EST) Feb-08 (Today). He suggested that it was an alternate Carrier that was placing the call, and that they only provide the Calling Facilities to their clients. (TELCO Re-Marketer). Possible SPoofed Caller_ID, yet the IAM number would contain the originating call Origination. Send Supoena Documntation to their Security department at 720-888-0000, to stop any harassing calls being placed Through their network.

Received a call from 979-446-0366. Unknown Name. Other Caller ID Internet locations have complaints from this ID for "you have won a trip to [Recreational Destination City]" type calls. Submitted Trouble ticket to Telephone Carrier (Level 3 Communications), as there was "Dead Air" on this call. Since 979-446-0366 is only the Handoff point, for the Internet provided caller, Caller ID only shows "979-446-0366" not the SOURCE Caller Information. Technical Intake desk says that this "should" not be the case and SOURCE ID should be passed to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). [If this sounds too technical for you, ignore it, as it may not apply to your situation. Just to highlight that , sometimes, the CALLER_ID on your phone is not accurate]

Called back to 866-634-3268 to be asked from Dialing System. Spoke with 'Alexandra' who will pass the information to the supervisor, but it will take a day or two to be entered in the system. Confirm that the organization is calling on behalf of the Toronto Sun, and if they are members of iOptOut.ca? Get transferred to the supervisor 'Tom' who apologized for the inconvenience. [Tried to sell again], Thanked him for his patience and i suspect this will be the end of it. (not) will follow up with a written letter in a day or so.

Caller asked for Deceased Person from Two years ago. Said Name was Meagan caling form "mubled something Canada". She asked if she could speak with "Name of Deceased Person" (Correct last name in family), i replied, "It would be difficult to reach ...... (Her First Name)" . I responded that this is her [family relative] and If I could help. She replied "Oh, No problem" and did not elaborate further, just dropped the call. -- So beware , its the COnservative Party of Canada, and their telemarkeing Office from Smiths Falls, Ontario calling to probably ask for donations from previous members, [even if they are deceased]. -OhJay.

Spoke to a sales rep who wanted to know if I wanted an 'estimate' for lawn care service., as they were 'In the Area' in a few days. (this is not true as the Cobourg Area (905-37x) is served by the Oshawa Area of Weed Man, and they have been asked to not call my number).

So I asked if they had the 'Do Not Call List' and they queried when I joined, so I confirmed that I signed up on the DNC since the canadian Start of it , January 2009, .

What do you know, the sales rep appologized for violating the Do-Not-Call Rules! nad will update his list(s) in a few days. Lets hope they update them before they try to call again. I suggested that they save the paper as this property will not need weed service this year. Thay concurred and apologized again. Today , Thomas Roy, from Simple Solutions, called saying this was a courtesy call. Courtesy to what is my question, but alas, it was a Telemarketing Call on Behalf of Primus Canada. Funny thing though, PRIMUS would not work with my existing CableCo Telephone Provider. so its just a waste of time.

got a Call from an Agent. I asked where they are based, the agent replied from SolarCan in Kingston, ON,. She said that they have a free quotation . I replied that I had 1 door, and was about to give the size when the agent asked how many windows I had. It was at this time that she replied "We have someone In the Area", and that they would give me a free quote. I further asked if they were members of the "Ontario Window & Door Manufacturer's Association". (A hold for a while , while she 'checked' with her supervisor.
She came back to the line and answered that they have a 'RBQ' Licence. Knowing that RBQ was not an Ontario Memebrship, I pressed further , The agent's Supervisor took over the call, and confirmed that they were not members of the association. I asked for the main number so that IF i were to need their quote, I could call direct. I call back to the same number later and the person who answers replies "Portes et Finetres," a Quebec name for "doors and Windows Call Centre'. I ask to speak to the same supervisor. apparently they do not use Canadas DO NOT CALL LIST. as they are supposed to. Its your opinion if you want to trust people that A) Tell you false information on where there calling from, B) The Company they Represent, and C) The Number they are calling from. (C: because the Number that was called from did not match the corp being represented.

When I asked what regional call centre she was calling from, she replied again, "From the Regional Call Centre"; I asked what state, and she did not answer, but said she would put me on the do-not-call-list. I pressed again from what call centre, and she repeated taht she was appologising for disturbing me, but that i would be put on the do-not call list and again did not say where she was at. she hung up after that.

The gentleman politely lets me know that the promotion is only for those that have Credit Cards, and that the Credit Card companies provide their firm with the account telephone numbers of their patrons in promotions such as this.[Out and out lie]

I say that I do not use a Credit Card, He asks if there is a Visa or Mastercard Logo on my Bankcard.

I prefer to use cash from the teller.

He thanks me, but unfortunately (For him) I do not 'qualify' for the prompotion.

I thank him for the info, and ask the name of the Firm he is calling from.

Complaint FIled with FCC on Bogus Exchange Number as part of the Caller ID.

THis caller phone number is on behalf of an agency known as 'Experian' , and is the sub-contracted telemarketing co that is using lots of telemarketing agents across america to phone outbound. THe Caller greeting is a recorded Greeting , (Male Voice Named Michael) that asks if I want to reduce my credit card interest rate, and to press (1) to do so. or to press 3 to take the number off the list.
(because it is another tlemarketing company , the 2nd option is pointless). So I press 1. Afast talking female voice answers the line, and greets me with her first name knly, and Re-confirms if I want to reduce my Credit Card Interest rate. I acknowledge that I would , and I ask if She is in My Country. She replies that she is not. Ok, so know I know it is a call from the USA, I ask to be deleted from the telemarketing machine, and she replies that I have to call Experian to get my number off her list. I tank her for the info and Hang up.
I do *69 from my phone and the Automated Number Return System tells me it is 562-223-8809.

Do not Believe what the Call display tells you. It can be faked. Ask to speak with a supervisor or manager.

Shopco foods is a Shop at home food service, they do cold calling to both white pages phone number, and to members of the Canadian Direct Marketing Assn. Tey did try to call bu gave up after the 4th number , only if you get te call in two rigs would you get to a live operator. -Will Follow up Both with a letter to them from my lawyers's office. we'll see if that gets them rattled......

Caller was calling tring to sell appointments for Window replacements. agent asked specifically for the last name of the owner, but the Call disply showed 555-444-3333. Did Call trace (*69), same thing. Callback number given was for Landmark Windows and Enerstar Marketing. Have Written Scathing report to Management to smarten up, and a report to the Canadian Gov for their deceptive practices. (555-444-3333) is a Bogus Telephone number.

When return dialed -get intercept "This is a Disconnected Number and is out of service".

Received a Voice Recorded Greeting , inticating that I was eligible to receive Credit Card Interest Rate Reductions in my current Credit Cards, but that I had to press 1 to speak to a live agent or Press 3 to be removed from the distribution list. Have reported the number , and while the 'scam' may seem legitimate, no other credit reduction company I know would bother with direct telemarkeing information retreival. My suggestion is to Not Respond to the Outbound Call, and instead report the Number to the FCC (USA) or CRTC in Canada. Good Luck in elimitaing Scammers from the world.
