The unknown caller, "Q SRVICING," left no message on the answer machine. Friends and legitimate callers leave messages.

The company is called Crossfire Marketing. They make phone calls on behalf of local newspapers (newspapers that publish for the area in which the person who is called is located) to notify those who are called of subscription offers for those newspapers.

Nobody here entered any contest though answer machine message said we did. Scam, no doubt.

This is a scam organization that is constantly changing its phone number but always shows CTI on the caller ID. They want your money. At least $10,000 of your money, which they want to put into one of their "black boxes" which will trade the S&P 500 for you and double your money every year or some comparable fantastic claim. If it is truly so lucrative, why don't they use their own money for their own profit....?

Called this number after it appeared on my caller ID and reached a recording that said "The ACS wireless number you called is no longer in service." That means the caller ID is fake.

A San Francisco company which specializes in causing people's phones to ring. I've let some magazine subscriptions expire and now this company is calling to try to talk me into renewing subscriptions. Their web address is futureus.com

This number called more than twice today. I only reported two instances of their calls for today (Aug 17th) Manitoba is Canada, so they ignore United States of America "do not call" lists. Who says Canada is a "friendly neighbor?" They never leave a message on the answer machine, but call over, and over, and over again.

They left a snotty-toned message saying they had already made repeated calls to me about lowering credit card debt. They have never called before, from this no-doubt fake caller ID number or any other that I recall.

Apparently others have been called with this number showing, but I'm the only one reporting the call. There are 3 other comments besides this comment I'm adding after reporting the call, though, so at least 3 others have been bothered by this nuisance. Whoever it was did not leave a message so I'm concluding that it was not a friend or aquaintance. Caller ID and answer machines/voice mail are great inventions.

I was not near the phone and caller did not leave a message. All my friends and acquaintances and legitimate people leave messages if I do not answer.

Message on answer machine was: "Don't be alarmed, but this is your last chance to reduce your interest rates on.." and that is where the message ended. Either the caller hung up (most likely) or my answer machine hung up (not likely). By the way, I don't have any loans at the moment and so there are no interest rates for me to reduce.

Based on reports elsewhere on the internet, I believe this is a spoofed caller ID number. Caller left no message after answer machine picked up, so it is not a friend or acquaintance or business associate.

Scam caller. A recording said, "YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED..." and then I hung up the phone. The number is unlisted so there is no way I could have been selected for anything. They lied. They call numbers randomly, hoping for a sucker to answer and respond to whatever the crooked proposition is.

I called the number back, since it is toll-free. It was immediately answered with a recording, "Welcome to Qwest! The next available representative will be with you shortly." I stayed on the line and talked with a representative. It really was Qwest. He asked if we have a computer and then asked what we pay / mo for internet. Qwest could supply us with internet at about half the cost of cable internet that we now have, but I told him that we had tried Qwest DSL and it would only work for us at 250K & would not work at 1.5 meg speeds. In a year or so, we might try Qwest DSL again. If they can get it to work for us at 1.5 meg, we would be happy to switch back and save money. Maybe now that I've had this conversation with them, they will quit calling our house 2 or 3 times per day.

If you call them back, the sleazy snakes DO NOT remove you from their calling list. They simply call you from another caller ID number. They are the lowest form of life in the universe.

The toll-free number for this company is 1-888-898-8778. Maybe they should get at least one call to that number for every call they send out. They pay for each incoming toll-free call. It would be the least I could do, to call them 3 times so their toll-free bill is charged three times for waking me from sleep three times. I do not know how they got my number, it is never given out, so they must call at random.

This number has called my cellphone 3 different days at different times of the day. Never leave a message, but wake me from sleep each time. May they roast in a hot dark place.

NOTE the fake caller ID, "WIRELESS CALLIN" which is not the same as when anybody with a real cellphone calls and the CALL ID displays "WIRELESS CALLER". Whether it is actually from a wireless phone or not, the caller ID is displaying something slightly wrong.

I guess I will have to cancel my subscription to the Readers Digest if this is who other reports say it is. They left no message, just a dial tone recorded on the answer machine.
