I did get a call this evening but no one there. Now I know what and who they are - I will be ready with sarcasm - anarchy - lying - story telling - and perhaps I might do it in an Indian accent explaining Mr. Haggis has outsourced the receipt of soliciting calls to an outfit in Bangalore

2 calls yesterday 6/22 One of them was when my smoke detectors were going off trying to cure some cast-iron pans - so all they got was a lot of alarm noise.

Called twice today 6/23 Caller ID showed Unknown Name Unknown Number

1. An Indian female who did identify them as Research International Trenton NJ

When I politely declined she then started the script on Market Research not subject to DNC
I lost it and gave her the full ax murderer treatment.

2. American Male less than 3 minutes later.

His pitch after I declined was that my opinion was IMPORTANT to them. My response was that my opinion was PRIVATE to me.

One and one half ring and then nothing.

Waiting for a chance to mess with them. Boring sunday afternoon - would love the sport.

If they are a research firm would love the opportunity to skew their results

Didn't take long - called this afternoon.

Unfortunately my wife took the call so no chance for sport.

Asked for my son
I said "You are peddling refinance on student loans aren't you?"
The woman with a mild indian accent said "yes"

I pointed out :
1. My son is out of the country.
2. He did not own the number she was using.
3. This number is most definitely on the DNC lists state and federal

She had difficulty processing these points since she went back to the script.

Repeating my points she then mumbled the "non-profit" excuse

Delhi Nelly eventually gave up but I expect my number will cycle round again soon.

Recorded message peddling their latest campaign

Called them and they courteously added me to their DNC lists - time will tell

I am a customer but their recorded astronaut pitch is annoying

They called again yesterday. When the young lady came on the line and asked for my son. I challenged her "are you peddling loan refinancing for student loans?" She said "yes"
I then pointed out that there was no existing business relationship between her company and the owner of the number (me) and therefore would her company desist from calling in the future. I voiced my concern that internet reports indicated they would be calling for ever.

She went all passive/aggressive and fawningly promised the number would be removed and I never would be called again - we will see and I will report any future occurrence

My son graduated Sunday May 20 and they are hunting him down to refinance his student Loan(s)

I suppose they will be calling here (his last known number) for the next 20 years

Got two today

Using my little old lady voice
I answered both "Hello (weak) Hello (weak) I've been waiting for you to call all day"

Call #1 nothing
Call #2 Indian Female came on line - my immediate response in my male voice - "hey it's Delhi Nellie" - immediate hang up

I informed them that :
Yes I was a customer of AllState and could they please add me to a list of customers who did not want sales calls
Response : Dial Tone

Hang up again today

Silence when answered

Caller ID said Call Notes and the number.

I said "Do not try to sell me anything" She said "I am here to give you information about Health Insurance"
I said you have called a number on the DNC list

She said "How am I supposed to know that"

I hung up
