The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want

t no message
I receive calls from this number periodically but as I have called ID, I never answer and they never leave a message. I figure it's a telemarketing call of some kind. I just yesterday (2/5/14) registered with the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY and listed my phone number. Hopefully it kicks in soon.
I was harassed for 2.5 hours on my husbands birthday by a female and a male that continually called from this number and 972-182-8291 concurrently, alternating and speaking names of different people on the phone repeatedly. These calls were made from 7pm to 9pm. We need to ban together and file a civil complaint in court against them for multiple charges and damages.
MStop calling I do not answer calls I do not knon
I also get calls from these guys. I was recently divorced and lost everything so my credit went to crap. Trying to rebuild, but during that time I changed my numbers and only used one. I use a GOOGLE VOICE NUMBER. you can screen your calls and have it forward the calls to any phone. If you don't want the caller to ever bother you again, you just block them via the application. Works like a charm, I am able to pay off my debts as I can without having them harass me everyday. Hope that helps some of you,
Google Voice!!! :)
Mike: are you so dumb that you don't realize that someone could figure out that you don't know jack. Why are you posting on here if they didn't call you? Are you one of them? If you firmly believe they are a debt collection agency then you would've just paid them and therefore wouldn't be on here. Were you dumb enough to pay them without asking ANY questions? They called my dad
I've received multiple calls from them after I settled my debt. They keep calling claiming I owe different amounts but wont tell me from whom they are being charged. I called my insurance company and said I was clear.
They called asking for my nephew but would not leave a message or name.
You are to stop calling this number now 303-346-0638. I have never heard of you don't know you. you are harssing this number now stop now. I mean it or I will cal the cops
The caller identified herself as Mrs. Lewis with CCS and said I needed to contact them immediately to avoid legal action and had the last four numbers of my social...creepy
This is a collection company used by many of the larger insurance companies. Unfortunately when you cancel an insurance policy there is "earned premium due" which leaves you owing money even though you always made you payments to the company on time. CCS buys the list from the insurance company. That is the only money that the company will ever see. They write off the debt. Insurance debts are also not allowed to go on your credit report just as the installments you make to your insurance company aren't either. If you make one payment to CCS however, then CCS can put the information on your credit report. Stay away from them! These are the true facts. I work for the second largest insurance company in the U.S. and receive calls from customers and former customers daily regarding CCS.
Are y'all so numb as to believe anything you post on here gets back to them? They are a collection agency that works on behalf of automotive insurance companies. If you are being called, you've defaulted on a policy and owe money. To make them stop calling, try paying your debt. Problem solved.
This number has called both my home phone and my cell phone. I have had it show up on both phones as "unknown", "unavailable", "private", "invalid" and with no title at all. I have answered, occasionally, the house and/or cell phone to find that the caller is "attempting to collect a debt" or is attempting to solicit money. This number also has a tendency to call before 8am and after 8pm (sometimes as late as 9:30pm), not that I am in the traditional sense of propriety in most regards, but phone etiquette, I am. I have blocked the number from my cell phone, but that only works when the number is supposed to come up visible on the caller ID. I registered with the national DO NOT CALL list, but after 90 days my number was mysteriously removed, and released to mass market, so now I not only receive calls from every solicitor under the sun, this number is the WORST!, but also some international numbers (some even claiming that I have a lawsuit against me and that I need to contact a lawyer and return call them with a case number). This number needs to be banned from any and all phone accessibility!
Look at the bottom of this page of comments. File a complaint with the FTC/FCC and the National Do Not Call Registry. We are in a war for our privacy. We pay enough for phone service that we should not have advertisements inflicted upon us. However, remember that the phone company and lots of other people, by cruel deceit, are making lots of money from these types of scams. -- Your best defense is your Caller ID. Don't pick up a call if you don't recognize the name and/or number. If you pick up such a call, don't push any numbers; hang up!
Why can't someone report them??? Is this legal- to harass citizens/people this way without repercussions? Who can they be reported to?? (don't think the do-not-call list work effectively)Can this be reported as both harassment and abused?, since I feel both when they call, 3-4X daily.?? Can anyone tell who or what Agency this can be reported to??
Called my landline a couple of times w/no message. I called back, gave them the # they called on, she very politely to,d me who they were trying to reach (my sister who used to live here) I gave her sister's current phone number. The rep said she'd update the file & take my number out. I hope it works b/c I'm sick of getting debt collector calls for my sister. She owes me money too - I need a debt collector :)
They called this morning. A representative came online, and said that "You are being recorded". I replied, "You are being recorded as well". She said, "You should have told me this before". I said, "Who should I have told this to? You just came online. DUMB ASS". She hung up ;-)
that number calls all day long, the number they are calling is a direct line to my fax machine. when they call its not just once but two or three times in secession other than the line ringing its not much of a bother.
Today my friend texted me saying that this number called her and she didnt answer. I called them vack and there was no answer. A few minutes later i call them back and they were asking for money! I told them we dont owe any money and they were still talking!
I have been receiving phone calls from this number nonstop, which on the caller I'd says ccsoffices.com as looks like a lot of other people have also. I had the same experience as others also, answered call and nobody answered back and phone went dead. I called number back and it appeared to be some type of debt collection service, so I hung up because I don't owe anything to any collections. I think this is a scam, I found something that might help with blocking the call, at least from a landline that I didn't know about. Dial *60 on your phone and then you can add that number to a block list. Hope this might help.
They call saying owing $$$ and WTF. No bills owed anywhere. Tired of these calls !!!!! Push this # push that # , Hang up it's bull ...
I've had 3 calls this past week, asking for my husband. They leave no message. I just got another call, but when I answered "hello", no one's there!
I called the number back and a recording said it was an attempt to collect a debt, so I won't let them bother me any more.
no message no nothing, they just hang up
I picked it up and they said nothing called back and no one answered. If they are a collection agency then they need to say something. So tired of them calling at all hours
I've told them I am on the do not call list but they keep calling, even Sunday morning @ 8:45
I didn't know the number, didn't answer...then looked it up here. Take 'em out any way possible.
No one answers when they call . . . I get calls at eleven o'clock at night, 8 in the morning, Sundays, it never ends.
Basically, the call NEVER connects to your phone, or on their end of the phone.....they hear NOTHING, it just HANGS UP, like they never called you. It just (like I said) POOF drops the call w/out ever ringing, but will STILL show in your call log. GOD I LOVE THIS FEATURE. Blocked a crazy ex boyfriend. lol.
If you have a newer phone, find out if you have "Call Reject List" -- add them to the list. When they call your number, the person calling you won't even hear the phone ring, the call just "poof" drops and won't ring. AND you won't hear them calling, it NEVER makes it to your phone ringer. BUT, the good thing is: You can opt to "see when they call" as in, it logs into your call logs. OR you can NOT see that they call. I choose to see when the person I "Call Rejected" their number calls, so I know how much their stalking me. lmao. GOOD LUCK.
they will not ever tell me what they want? they call at all hours and on the weekends like they have no life.please stop call my house
I am sick of receiving calls from this number and when u answer no one says anything.
I don't know this number so I didn't answer. But company calling me at 8.30 at night, u freaking kidding me I dont even get calls from friends this late! unless is an emergency.(not that i would care though)
Mine was robo-call, no option say wrong number or opt-out of call or speak with live person (to be removed from call list)
So those this numb call only about insurance
they just did not answer
Cheryl, your callers do not maintain this site or this web page. Your callers cannot magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments. To halt the collection calls you must give notice *directly*.
My advice for a ''not me'' case can be found here, in a comment from 29 August 2012:
there is no mary calaro at this number do not Call here again
This collection agency continues to harass me, even though I've challenged them to sue me for the $31 dollars they claim I owe Allstate Insurance, whose agent advised me I owed nothing.
recieved call from that number but no one said enything
They won't leave a message...just calling all day and evenings. It says Newton, MA
This number continues to call looking for Carl M Parisi. There is no one here be that name. They said they would remove us remove the list
I just say Sorry you have the wrong Number
irritating, i don't answer if I don't know who it is. they dont leave a message
617-581-1060 calls my home # at all times of day and night. today is saterday! this # called at 11:15 AM. these calls must stop!!!!!
Received call from CCSOFFICES.COM 617-581-1060, did not leave a message. Not sure what they want.
I hang up when people call and can't pronounce my name. Obviously from some list.
Keep calling during my work hours, no message.
Number called is (617)581-1061 On caller ID as ccsoffices.com. Believe to be Credit Collection Service Offices out of Newton, MA. Have received calls on a daily basis starting after 8:00 AM. Will be sending a letter to them to cease calls and will be sending a letter of complaint to the Governor's Office as of today 4/16/2012.
this is a scam!! donot give them your personal info they are scam artis fishing for your ss# and other personal info best thing to do is call your state attorney's office and report them.
Do not call to my home phone again .I'm not appreciate it.
THIS # NEVER SAYS ANYTHING.
Daily phone calls half the time says nothing and hangs up
called me at 12pm and I answered, "this is a very important business call" and then hung up on me. 617 area code, caller Id says it's from Newton, MA? No idea...very annoying, if it was so important why did they hang up?
CCSOFFICES.COM KEEP CALLING MY HOME. I GUESS I SHOULD GET CALL BLOCKING ON MY LAND LINE AND BLOCK THE NUMBER, SO THEY CANT CALL. WITH CALL BLOCKING YOU CAN JUST KEEP BLOCKING THESE AND ENEY OTHER KIND OF CALLS.
This number shows up about once a week on my cell phone in Austin. TX. I never answer and they never leave a message.
If you keep your nerve, you can string a debt collector along for months. Never pay them. Only pay to the original debtor. Ten bucks a month will prevent legal action for a long time.
My husband keeps getting calls on his cell, asking for Anthony Peschke. Which is not his name and never has been, Peschke is MY maiden name, and we got married 2 years ago. Why would someone have My husbands last name as my Maiden name?
It calls all times of day even way early in the morning and wakes us up. It's just some recording that you can't get through to tell them that you aren't who they're looking for, and doesn't tell you who it is. Collection for what, what company would we ever have started an account with the name Anthony Peschke?
I first answered it because it was early in the morning and I thought it was the work security center that will call him, as a Manager, to give information about the store's security. That number is 612, this one is 617, so he got woken up for nothing, so I saved the Security number under his contacts, so as not to mistake 617 for 612 again.
If I could ever get someone on the line, I'd tell them that name doesn't exist. You can't get the name right, then I don't need to talk to you or call you back.
They call my cell but since I do not pick up calls whose name is not on my phone list, I'm fine but it's annoying, they call between 7am and 7pm. I thought it was Vantage Travel, but the extension is wrong.
This number keeps calling me all different times. I DO NOT answer as very few people have my number and it doesn't show a name. I don't know anyone in that area code anyway. It can't be to important or else they would leave a voicemail. THey never do, so to heck with them. I won't call back either, why should I waste my minuets??
I don't answer calls from people I don't know because I'm alone alot and disabled and it makes me nervous. I hate those calls, they usually end up being "You won a cruise" or some other crap.
Bessie and Person: The name and purpose of this caller have been cited here over and again. No one reading here can ''please make the calls stop'', only add to our collective knowledge. It is *your job* to study appropriate laws and take the wisest action. Start your homework here:
why does this number call my house 3 times a day and not leaving a message
WHO IS THIS? THEY CALL MY DIRECT WORK # ALL THE ,SOMETIMES THEY CALL AND HANG UP. IF POSSIBLE PLEASE MAKE THE CALLS STOP SINCE NO ONE KNOWS WHAT "CCSOFFICES.COM" MEAN OR WHO THEY ARE. THANK YOU
(03/12/2011)(0822a) This number showed up on on my cell phone caller ID. This is a private cell phone known to only those who I allow to have it.
FUCKING CCS. Call your favorite lawyers and sue them today!
They violate FDCPA statutes en masse!
i would like to know who is calling me
received a call from this company for someone who does not live here.
Linda, was that you reporting on Creditors Financial Group in October 2010? You'd never made a follow-on.
Sorry, Linda. I was responding to Densha just before you. I didn't see your entry at posting time. Requesting call cessation is not a problem, but demands to "take me off the list" are unrealistic. Collectors don't keep a master list in the telemarketer sense. Calls are made per the contact data on each account and to others thought to be of possible assistance in skip tracing. I can imagine your "common name" is like a magnet to those agency drones.
You're right, one verbal cease-comm request should suffice, but it usually won't because it's harder to prove. Courts vary a lot on how you can use recordings in Fair Debt cases, while paper demands are more easily recognized. It still doesn't hurt to create recordings to catch offenses, and it may help you to know that the "two party consent" crap no longer matters.
In August 2010 the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that single party consent is just peachy for recording the phone person-to-person, so long as your intent is not in some way criminal or malicious. Sure, you could hedge your bets and announce recording, but this often causes the rep to either refuse to continue, or grudgingly switch to Very Best Behavior. I say let the collector decide how far to stray from FTC regs, and let a judge or arbitrator decide what's admissable. Roll those recorders quietly and with confidence.
What cursing? What countermeasures?
Asking to be taken off the list is a legitimate request.
I record the conversation so that I'll have proof that I asked. Legally, I only need to ask once.
The state that I live in is a "two-party" state, so I have to tell them I'm recording for the tape to be legal.
I also photograph the caller ID and keep a complete written record of each call.
I have a very common name and am listed in the phone book under my first and middle initials, so I receive these calls on a regular basis.
So far, I haven't sued anyone but I have the records that would enable me to do so if I so choose.
Yes, how not very original. Blasting whistles and horns, prank return calls, rickrolls and other obnoxious behavior are not valid countermeasures. They may in fact draw special attention to your case and accelerate the path to a lawsuit. Collectors work under stress all day. Do you want to be the one standing under the blast fallout? They are recording every word and sound you make. Would you like to explain to a judge your childish lies and rude cursing?
Oh, look, you kept them talking for a half hour with no results. Great job, Sparky, that must have cost them six whole dollars in rep and phone time at least! The rep failed to meet the earnings targets on the agency's whiteboard? No problem, he will be replaced by someone with no patience for your juvenile antics.
You want to raise their costs so badly? Document everything CCS does, look for violations, which a junk debt buyer sooner or later commits, and file Federal suit. Expenses are paid by the opposition when it loses. Don't just "settle up for around 33%", not if your damages meet or exceed their claim. You want revenge so much? Make them look desperate while you were calm. Make them pay _you_ to walk away peaceably.
Maybe if more than 0.5% of alleged debtors took the fight to the offensive collectors' own bank accounts as the FDCPA and FCRA allow, their chronic lawbreaking would cease to be a cheap business expense, and we might at last enjoy answering phones again. Else you can stoop to their level and encourage more of the same abuse.
I've always found that telling them that you are "recording the call for quality purposes," asking the caller to restate his or her name, and them asking to be taken off their list works very well.
They'll think you're planning to sue them whether you are or not.
It has been my personal experience that people tend to stop calling phone numbers where the party answers in Japanese or Korean. I have also found that the use of a Freon Boat Horn also tends to discourage unwanted callers. This is not to be construed as advice, just an observation. Feigning a death in the family also works well...as does a stream of obscenities...avoid hate speech...just stick to the usual f-bombs, etc. Failing at that, just say..."I have no intention of honoring this debt." That one really blows them away. Another good one is to keep them on the phone for as long as possible with circular reasoning...like, after talking with them for 10 minutes, say you have been recording them. If they say, "You can't do that!!"...simply respond with, "Oh, yes I can...and I just did...and I still am." This will usually result in a long conversation consisting of "no, you can't" and "Oh, yes I can." This will waste tons of their time and keep them from bothering others for awhile, which cuts into their commission. You might also tell them you are "judgment proof." Then refuse to answer any questions why. These people do not want to go to court; they want you to send them some money over and above the 3-cents on the dollar that they paid for the debt, which is often a zombie debt...and therefore, uncollectable legally. They will then seel the "debt" to an even sleazier company, at which time, you repeat the above steps. In short, waste their time and have some fun. Then, if they do file in SC court...settle up for around 33%...or, tell them you are going to the media. They really don't like that.
they hang up when answering machine picks up
The Federal DNC registry works about as well as designed. What wastes time is coming out here to complain about the wrong issues while not reading a syllable of the advice already offered.
This is the first time. They call and don't leave a message when I don't pick up. The don't call registry is a waste of time. I'm sure, as in the past, they too will start calling three or more times a day. Whether it will do any good or not, I'm reporting this number here. Somebody needs to get a life.
they also use 618-581-1062- they do not leave a message -whats up with this? IF ITS $$ THEY WANT THEY STATE THE REASON !!!!!!!!!!!
PJ and MAD, if you can make your way to a complaint site like this, you are perfectly capable of actually reading prior entries and using the considerable headstart "John in Calif" gave in order to find your answers.
I have no idea why I am getting these phone calls. If I don't recognize who's calling, I won't pick up the phone because it might be a scam. I owe no one so they need to get a life and I want the harrassment stopped. By the way, I am on the national do-not-call and cell phone lists.
Give 'em your own call!
Better yet, sign in with linkedin.com and give their executives your own call! Let them know what you think.
Then when you're done, send a letter under sect 805(c) of the Fair Debt Collections Act
We've received calls from this number in the past and each time I answer the phone, the other party hangs up and there is silence on the other end.
i get this # as well do not anwser it ..this is nuts
I don't know who these people are and I have no business with them. If they are calling for the Preston's they have not had this phone number for two years! I want them to take my phone number out of their dial directory and stop BOTHERING me! Especially on Sunday mornings!
This number calls my cell at least 5 times a day. And when I answer they hang up !
The DNC registry is for telemarketers, meaning sales. Charities, debt collectors, political speech, and surveyors are all exempt. This was made known to you when you registered your numbers.
I don't know why they keep calling but on Sunday of all days and to a DO NOT CALL number is rediculous!
I am receiving unwanted calls from this number. I do not know this person. They call repeatedly, but never leave a message.
Kimmie: Repeated calls with intent to annoy are a common collector tactic. It's illegal but somewhat harder to use as a defense compared to other common abuses. Document each call and look for an abusive pattern. Federal law does not ban calls on any day, but maybe your state law does.
I keep receiving repeated calls from this number, including holidays & today (SUNDAY) from this number. My caller ID doesn't identify the caller, so I won't answer it. I pay for phone service for my benefit & I will not answer unless I know who is calling & I'm interested in talking to them. They never leave a message either. You'd think that if it's sooooo important that they need to call you repeatedly, they'd at least leave a message for you to return their call.
If only more states had extra protections like Kentucky .....
They called today and left no voicemail
its a credit collector thecalled after 630 pm which is against the law in kentucky
Called 3 times in a row without leaving a message. How rude
I dont like getting calls that dont leave a message and i dont have andy bills that i dont pay
The only people we owe money to is our mortgage and we pay that. Don't know why they call and hang up, but it does sound like a scam to me.
These people call me up to 6 times a day on my cell. The debt they are calling about is one that I have proven is NOT MINE.
This number is not a scam! I just answered the phone a few minutes ago, after checking on here earlier today. In fact the man I spoke to was polite and said that he was calling due to a (very) past due insurance bill. I don't give my cc info over the phone and told him to mail me a bill. He said they only mail one out if you commit to a date. I told him I'm broke (like all of us who dodge the dept collector calls and check this site to see who wants their funds before even considering answering) and he said they'd take a minimum of a $25 payment a month until paid off. So go ahead and answer the phone.... It wasn't scary and they will stop calling. :)
"BeachBum" and "G" are the only ones on the ball here, though in G's case the FDCPA might not apply, if the account was only 90 days delinquent. Your options under Federal law, however, are not all about how quickly or slowly you can pay. The collector could be in the wrong, and many are, pursuing faulty account details and incorrect contacts. What's more, paying a collection account often will ding your FICO score as badly as a strategic retreat.
If you are receiving misdirected or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, which regulates bad collector behavior and provides a private right of action. It grants you control of how you are contacted, and collectors can be sued for their crimes. You may however soon find that your verbal demands to limit or cease communication, as allowed by the FDCPA, are often ignored. You will have to place the discussion on a paper trail to enforce regulatory compliance. Learn your rights and first response tactics at FTC-dot-gov.
As to these unhelpful calls some of you report, the FTC makes two demands of third party collectors which are sometimes in conflict. A collector must make "meaningful disclosure" of its identity yet respect the privacy of whoever is named on a debt account. Out of caution many collectors are gun shy with message recorders.
It creeps me out that they call at all hours of everyday and they can't take the time to leave a message! I don't kow you or the number, I don't answer....it's that simple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW....BUG OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have gotten several calls from this number (Caller ID says Private Name) in the last several weeks. I do not recognize the number, so I usually let it go to voice mail. Individual never leaves a message.
I don't know who they are what they want but they are calling my cell phone all hours. theyneed to be stopped.
I keep getting a call from this number. I haven't answered it, but it's starting to freak me out. Like wouldn't I know if something of mine was sent to collections? I'm 19, living on my own and about to leave for the Air Force. Someone wanna assure me that this is fake? I've checked my bills and everything seems to be in good standing..
Credit Collection Services
it a scammer don't give them any info the are trying to get you cc info don't let them steel your money just block all 3 of there #s
called for my boyfriend, told him he wasn't in- left another phone number to call back on it's 1-800-998-5000, calls all hours of the day and night..
they call and never leave messages at all hours.
The name is blocked. As of today alone, they have called me twice. I won't pick up if the name is blocked. For the past three or four days I've been getting a call from them once or twice a day. They never leave a message. Whoever they are, they need to GET A LIFE!!!
Hey, I say they don't leave a message as to why they're calling - they don't deserve a call back or me to answer. I blocked the number! Yay for technology! We don't even have to be bothered by the phone ringing!! : )
this number from NEWTON.MA called me on 6/22/10 and it is strange because i never get calls from long distances until now and i ve heard rumors that they use your account numbers to take money...can anyone tell me what these calls are for?
Got a call while I was out from this bunch. I have a letter ready to go off to them disputing the debt. I canceled my auto insurance policy in January. Geico says March and that I still owe $22.25. In that letter is a cease and desist order, if they do what I read and ignore that request I won't hesitate to sue them for the violation of the FDCPA.
Also I am trying to rectify this with Geico themselves.
Answered the phone to a VERY loud message saying that there was a personal business call for me, and then the phone went dead. wut-Ever!!
I DO NOT KNOW WHO YOU ARE BUT IF YOU CANNOT TALK ON THE OTHER END WHEN I PICK UP MY PHONE THEN YOU GO STRAIGHT TO HELL! I DO NOT LIKE ANSWERING THE PHONE IF THE IODIT IS NOT GOING TO TALK ON THE OTHER END. STOP CALLING OR I WILL SUE FOR HARRASSMENT!
they keep calling at all hours and most times they wont respond...just go dead
All debtors that transact with a collection agency for a debt they owe; should do everything in writing, the collection agency has a responsibility to request and acquire signature and provide you a copy of everything you sign but copy your own stuff because you should anyways! Debtors have the right to set up payment arrangements, pay by money order instead of banking info if they choose, mail in payments you are not required by law to provide your bank info and use the auto pay systems these collection agencies have, as a matter of fact... I did that and they shorted my account over $1,000.00 and submitted multiple dollar amts. I do not and never have owed.. I guarantee you, reimbursement will be made including fees! If you can't afford to pay a debt in collection, the agency is required to provide you with a financial statement document called "inability to pay debt" all you do is fill out your income and your expenses for a month so the agency can determine whether or not you are able to pay a debt by payments and/or at all... use and take advantage of what's available to you under the FDCPA and all laws of this country... if you are victimized by a collection agency, it will probably be because you "did nothing" to stop them and "use your rights under the FDCPA" it is written for debtors and creditors, use it to your advantage!
I too try to answer this call but nothing on the other end, would love to get a live idiot to answer because I have a special message for people like that.
FYI, in regards to the following post about whether or not it will hurt you if you pay a debt in collection, in my opinion that is not exactly true...
Depending on who the creditor is, your wages and assets can be attached/garnished if it's the Feds, etc.
The advantage of Paying a Debt in Collection;
If you pay it 100% then it will be taken off your credit report in time, though it may stay on your report for awhile, it will show PIF and many creditors are good with that because they know you paid your debt.
If you accept a Settlement; sometimes we just have to and that's ok if it's the only way to repay a debt, however if you do a Settlement (SIF) then it will reflect that you paid a settlement and not the debt in full. That is not always a bad thing but it does reflect that you owed money and only repaid a portion of it.
Best case scenario to rebuild your credit; do not do a bankruptcy, pay your debts in full...
IF YOU CANNOT PAY IN FULL AT ONE TIME; YOu have the RIGHT to set up payment arrangements, most agencies will set up payments for a number of months, then ask you to pay the balance in full or if they are smart they will schedule out payments for you until the cows come home if that's what you need and it will look good for you because you are building a positive payment history and paying your debt in full!!!!
If you cannot pay and have to do a bankruptcy; Chapter 7 or 11 and wipe the debts out 100% many debtors have stated that by doing a Chapter 13 which allows you to only pay off a percentage of your debts not in full.. debtors sometimes will run up more debt during that 5 yr. period and... a Chapter 13 reflects to creditors that you owed money and didn't pay it back in full and .... Chapter 13 will stay on your credit report for 12 yrs.
Chapter 7 will allow you to regain credit cards and other credit in less than a year.
Chapter 7 will allow you to purchase real estate after 2 yrs.
