I, too have been receiving calls about home alarm systems. Through the internet I traced their carrier to Choice One Communications in Grand Rapids, MI. A helpful person there provided me with an actual phone number and name behind EngageTel. It is Dennis Carlson and it appears his personal line is 415-472-5008. I suggest we all call him and request that he find another line of business a bit more honest.

I got a call from 414 755-6411. That number led me to Choice One Communications in WI who told me the number belongs to Engage Tel, Inc in Wyoming. I looked up corp records and found out they are incorp by Gerald Pitts's firm and they are Engage Tel's resident agent. I called Mr Gerald Pitts phone number at 307-632-3333 ask for Mr Pitts and demanded that your phone never be called again. I suggest all of you call Mr Pitt's office and do the same. Their address is 2710 Thomes Ave., Cheyenne, WY 82001 for one to send legal matters to. I am still looking for a number for Engage Tel. But give Mr Pitts a call, he needs to here about his clients practices.

I also have been receiving calls from this number. The caller ID shows up as Sales Dept. I researched online and found this is a Virginia based land line number. I E mailed the Virginia Attorney General's Office. They advised me to file a complaint with the Virginia Office of Consumer Affairs and also the FTC (www.ftc.gov). Everyone who reads this should also contact all three agencies. They keep a log. If enough of us contact them, they will realize the problem and correct it.

This is a criminal organization stealing credit card numbers through various forms of trickery... lowering interest rates, extending your auto warranty, etc.

Since I know they're criminals, I have no problem hitting "1" and then telling the live operator to go fuck him or herself before hanging up. I'm sure you all can think of even better ways to let out your frustrations on them. However, keep in mind that being nice and politely asking them to remove you from their list will cause them to cuss you out before they hang up on you.... like I said before... these assholes are hardcore CRIMINALS looking to scam you.

I do not believe the 804-234-9010 phone number is fake or caller-id spoofed since when you dial it, you'll get prompted to remove yourself from the list. Don't do it, they'll call you even more. It seems they recently added a new number today, 402-982-0771, so now I'm getting similar calls from both.

I report EVERY single one of these ILLEGAL calls to both of these websites. Everyone here should do the same and with enough complaints, they will get shut down and prosecuted.

This number is owned by the phone company NationsLine, along with 301-882-9986 also used by the same fraudsters.

Complaints to 'complaints@nationsline.com' or (877) 879-5988. I honestly don't know why they wouldn't have kicked them for violations of TOS already. Well, I do, they're probably charging them a ton for making millions of calls every day.

Despite the fact that our recorded answering message immediately informs any and all callers that this number is on the DoNotCall list, this company harasses us night and day. Sometimes it is a prerecorded robocall. Sometimes it's a voice from a real person. Sometimes it's actually a "breather!" Sometimes if I answer, I yell "This number is on the DoNotCall list! Now get off this line NOW, and DON'T CALL HERE AGAIN!" Apparently, nothing stops them. Today I called the number on the caller ID back. A recorded female voice with an Asian accent said: "You are calling from 6109328286. If this the number you wish to change, press 1. If not, press 2." Needless to say, I hung up immediately. ....." I hung up in disgust. Usually they are pitching car repair warranties This company has hundreds of complaints registered on www.WhoCalled.us, and I've complained to your department numerous other times. Today the robo voice pitched "Congratulations! You have been qualified for a lower rate on your ....." before I hung up. By the way, folks, don't bother with the FCC: they are NOT interested, and I an prove it. Even though this is an 800 type number, and it's a robocall, they actually took the time to send me the regulation, which fits this company, and then tell me, so sorry,they "have determined that the facts presented in this case do no indicate a violation of the Communications Act of 1934 as amended, or the FCC's rules on which we can take enforcement action." YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK! Suggestion to Obama: either get this department to do its job, or clean house and get a new crew in who are willing and able. I am really disgusted now. I'm just going to keep reporting them every time to DoNotCall, on which we're permanently registered.

Funny, these calls all started soon after I refinanced my mortgage through Wells Fargo. Mind you I CHOSE to refinance, not because of being behind in payments or having a sky high ARM, but because my credit is good and I could lower my interest rates. Since that timw, I have gotten calls from both 804 (VA) and 301 (MD) area codes but no one is ever on the line when I call. This tells me its a scam, since even the worst scum sucking bottom feeding telemarketers will try and sell you something.

A recording said, "You are calling from _" there was a space, because I had blocked out my number. It asked to enter the number I wanted to be removed. So I entered the phone number of the female, with whom my husband had cheated. I am sure the numbers get used, not removed.

IMO they are scammers attempting to get your credit card number. I have been recieving calls from this number. It offers a credit card interest reduction via a recorded message, then asks to press #1 to speak to a representative, or #2 to be removed from any futher calls. I got fed up with them not removing me so decided to press #1.
Spoke to a gentlemen. I asked if I can speak to his supervisor, but had the nerve to tell me that I have to say "please." I reminded him that he called me on my phone at my house on my time! We went back and forth for a bit untill he gave me the "f*&^ you" phrase.
No legitimate company would ever allow any employee to speak to a potential customer in that manner. And it shows me that they are not being recorded or supervised in any way. Tired of this and just hope someone reads and sees that this might be a scam.

Caller ID says they are a Sales Dept with the displayed number. I got the call and talked to the person on the other line. She was trying to tell me they were some kind of card services and could lower our credit card rates on all of our cards. When I asked detailed questions about who they were and what "services" they offered, that was when she told me she could lower our rates because it was how credit cards made their money (DUH!) and she could help us because our credit card companies won't lower our rates. When I told that I have had good luck with our credit cards lowing our rates, she told me to have a nice day and then called me a bitch and hung up. REAL PROFESSIONAL! This tells me they aren't legit. Who do you file a complaint with if you can't get through to real person when you call back? I will try the Better Business Bureau. I called the number back and had our number removed but I don't hold much luck in that.

When I demanded that they identify themselves to me and that I am on the Do Not Call list, the woman identified by me name ( apparently, they already knew it ?) then commented about a credit card notice mailed to me. is a Richmond, Virgina telephone area. Varina (which is indicated as
the area from which the call originates) is a short distance
from Richmond.

I am keeping a record of all calls from this number, including dates,
times and number calling. When I've had enough of it, I will report the calls to the police department in Varina, Virginia.

It's the strongest action I know to stop this kind of scam. Another
route would be to report it to the Attorney General in Virginia. That
also is successful in stopping this kind of telemarketing when it is an
illegal enterprise and an intrusion into your home.

I received a call from a "Sales Dept".

I had been expecting a call from a legitimate company regarding an inquiry I had recently made, so I answered the phone.

This was a robo-call offering reduced interest rates on credit cards. I pressed "1" to speak to a representative. She told me that they work with Visa, MasterCard, American Express and one other credit card issuer to reduce interest rates on my cards.

I asked her which card she was calling about, because. I told her, "I have several."

She repeated the four cards they service. I asked her how she got my number. She said that I should have received a recorded message, which is true.

I informed the woman that, in fact, I do not have any credit cards, only a debit card, which has no interest rate. I further informed her that I would be filing a complaint against the company for a violating the terms of the Do Not Call registry, on which my number appears.

This "sales department" is annoying and disrespectful, rude when asking who they are. I have twice been able to connect with a live person; first time asked for a supervisor and was hung-up on; second time asked for a supervisor and told they were unavailable and I laid into the sales rep on the phone for repeated unwanted calls/messages to a "do not solicit telephone number. When you talk to a person, they speak english; when you reach their voice mail prompts, it is in "indian" english accent. This group needs to be turned into police or other authorities.

Got many call from them in the past; then one 4/26, then THREE on 5/6, and
another 6/13. *57 has failed most of the time, but traced the last 2.

Recording offering credit card consolidation. Pressing 2 to get off their
list obviously does nothing as I'm still getting the calls. Last call I
tried to play along, but never got to a live person, and after a couple
minutes got disconnected.

I think I'll try this guys solution next:

Sure, we are also on the Do-not-call list, but still get the calls frequently. We pushed 2 several times... it doesn't work. Started pushing 1 and speaking to the rep. First time, a nice rep said that there are several offices calling so pressing 2 doesn't always hit every office's list. (BS)

So... On the next call, I pressed 1. Here is the transcript:

Rep: "We can help lower your credit card rates."
Me: "What company are you with."
Rep: "We work with all the major banks and credit card companies."
Me: "Great. How do I lower my rate?"
Rep: "Do you have at least $9,000 in credit card debt."
Me: (white lie) - "Yes... at least. he. he."
Rep: "Is your rate at least 13%?"
Me: "I'm not sure, probably. I can run to get a statement if that would be helpful."
Rep: "That would be great."
Me: Placed phone on hold...
He lasted just over 5 minutes on hold. I received another call at that point so had kill the line.

15 seconds later, private number flashed on the phone. I answered it.

Rep: "I think we were cut off"
Me: "Not really, I just wanted to waste your time like you are wasting everyone elses that's on the Do-not-call list."
Rep: pause… “Oh.. Ha. Ha”

This was 2 days ago... They have not called back since.

Try it for yourself. It can't hurt, and it's mildly entertaining. See how long you can keep them on the line.

This bunch keeps calling and calling. Sometimes it's about warranties; sometimes it's about getting a lower rate on "my" credit card. Eventually if you listen long enough they offer an option 2 to be removed from their calling list. Punch 2, sit back, and 2 hours later (and 2 days later) they're back again with a new recording.

They leave a message that it is urgent that I speak to them concerning credit card rates. If I do answer and ask them not to call they hang up. If I indicate by pushing 3 that I do not want to be called it doesn’t stop them. Option 3 is to have my number removed; I've done this, but they still call back. If I call the number back it is disconnected. If I try to get information on the number I get a recording that no information is available. I have been listed on the national DO NOT CALL registry for some time.

05-28-09 I received a call from 804-234-9010. They said (a recording) they were calling on behalf of VIsa and Master Card and lowering my rates. So I played the "Press 1 game " and stayed on the line until a person got on the line. Quickly they said they were calling to lower my interest rates, if I qualify.

I asked what company are they calling from and they said Account Services. So, I asked for their company website so I can look them up at my leisure. The guy on the line said he would not give it out since they are a call center and he could take my qualifying information over the phone. He gave me a bunch of garbage about people reporting them to the FTC, making harassing phone calls to them etc.

I worked the guy over and and over finally got their toll free number: 866-606-2069 which links to a credit consultation agency stationed in Orlando, FL. www.dynamicconsultingsolutions.com is their website with contact number of 407-409-7024.

Report this place to the FTC as robo-calling for credit reductions.

BEWARD!!!! The positive comments listed on this website about DCPS, LLC. (Dynamic Consulting Premier Services) are coming from the lousy pieces of s**t that work, Dan Adams, Michael Reed, Kristin Moore to name a few. They are trying to scam you out of money.

DCPS have told people they are a governement entity, under some new Obama program, and they are not. They say they charge a one time fee of $995.00 for life, no matter how many credit cards you have, yet they charged someone I know almost $2,000 regarding two credit cards and have done nothing for her. That person had to close their accounts and is now in the dispute process with their card/bank companies.

They told me they lowered someone else I know interest rate. Really? They spoke to and suckered that person into joining only a day earlier.

According to DCPS, Michael Reed, Dan Adams, Kristin Moore (all con artists-liars) they lowered that person's interest rate already. That is a lie, they had not. They themselves state you have to wait for their paper work to arrive, list all your credit card numbers, send it back to them and THEN they can start negotiating your rates. Based on what they state they can not lower your rates until they get back their own paper work from you, so how can they claim they already lowered someone's rate in one day?

They are not licensed with Florida as a business, they have no FEI/EIN number and they do not honor the three business day consumer right to cancel law. They have refused to offer me a refund and eventually surcomed to referring me to the refund department. Kristin Moore told me they would call me back the same day in the afternoon. That day came and went. Instead, the next day I received two phone calls from some a** named Jean (or Gene), claiming to be a financial specialist and wants to talk to me to start saving me money on my credit cards. Can you say bu***hit?

DCPS claims they have a refund policy but they do not, they have a refund guarantee; two very different things.

They are rude, use bullying tactics, they are unprofessional (big surprise, no real business would hire street people to do financial work)and are proficient at swindling and oh, lying too!

They have an an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau, which the State of Florida recognizes and lists them as a link on their own website, under Florida Consumer Affairs. DCPS has at least four complaints against them, all which have been ignored wen brought to DCPS' attention, according to the BBB.

I strongly encourage EVERYONE to FILE A COMPLAINT with the Florida State Department with this Limited Liability Company and with sunbiz.org. They also list their registered agent to be Law Office of Maureen K. Gour, PA
3562 South Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33435. Ms. Gour practices in divorce, will, trust, bankruptcy, probate, alimony, and marriage contracts. Odd that she is not a business or tax attorney or something that would make sense for a company that supposedly is licensed and bonded to negotiate your interest rates.

- I used *69 to get the number that had called. My first attempt ended with a "wireless customer is not currently available, please call back later" message. I called back later and a woman's voice (she sounded like she had an Indian accent to me) asked if my phone number was correct and if I wished to have that number removed. I pressed "1" to do so, but I doubt it will help, and they shouldn't have called me and wasted my time in the first place since I've been on the National Do Not Call registry for some months now.

This is an Identity Theft phishing scam - they tell you it is for an Extended Car Warranty, once they get your Credit Card number they charge thousands of dollars on it. They did NOT "GET YOUR NUMBER FROM SOMEWHERE". It uses a sequential number Auto-dialing computer (Calls EVERY phone number by adding 1 to the previous phone number) and is run by criminals.... they could care less about the Do-Not-Call list. The phone number seen on Caller ID is "spoofed", which means it is not the number from which the call was placed - they just pick some random number to use when the computer dials the calls. In all probability, the calls are coming from Russia, Nigeria or another one of the countries that are known for email scams - IT IS THE SAME PEOPLE that send out Email phishing scams! The worst thing you can do is answer, that validates your phone number as a "real" phone number. It is then added to a list that they originator uses REPEATEDLY to call you... and then it is put on a list that is sold to other scammers (criminals, really) at a premium price, because it is then on a list of valid cell phone numbers!

Someone here mentioned receiving calls for a 44 year old son's debt. What these collection companies will do is to constantly call someone (who they know isn't the person who owes the money) - tells them that if they pay this other person's debt that their credit will then be safe. They put a fear of bad credit into someone who this debt does not belong to. I've even been told from another woman that after she paid someone else's debt (to keep her credit rating good) she found out from another friend that this same company had started constantly calling her (about this same debt) telling her the same story - for the same debt that was paid - by someone who didn't make the debt no less!!

This is one of many,many,many unwanted calls my husband and I receive on a daily basis. It seems that as our ecomomy worsens, these people become more rude! Any phone company will let you block up to 12 numbers without charging. However as we are all aware, scum scammers like these people have 20 or more trunk line PBX switchboards and will only call you from a different number. I finally contacted my carrier (Verizon) and placed a service called "call intercept". I won't go into detail but it has been amazing. Here's the short verison for anyone interested: If a caller attempts to reach my phone and the caller ID is Private, Unknown, Out of Area, Unavailable etc... my phone won't even ring. A recorded message plays to the caller stating that the number they are trying to reach has "call intercept" and asks the caller to identify themselves and the company they are calling from. Only after the requested information has been provided will my phone ring with a special ring - kind of a "ring,ring" in rapid session. This ring type lets me know that it is a call intercept. I can choose to pick-up the phone and listen to who the caller is at which time I have 5 options; 1)take the call 2)block the call sorry, I've never gotten past yes or no so I'm not sure what the other options are. If I am not home to answer the call intercept, the call will go to my voice mail. I have found that once these scammers here the words call intercept, they hang up and the greatest part.... I never even hear my phone ring!
It's not free but the $5 Verison charges me is so worth not having to deal with the harrasment. It's worth a try for those of you out here that are or should I say "were" sick and tired of the rude,mean pushy people call everyday regarless of the time of day. Being nice to these people doesn't work - but trust me call intercept did the job for us.

Not only are these folks illegal telemarketers / fraud / phishing scammers, but the call I got wouldn't disconnect even after several attempts to hang up. I was expecting an important phone call, and couldn't clear my line.

Let me inform ALL OF YOU what I did yesterday & will do everytime they call until they can catch on, as stupid as they are. I got a phone call from these people using another #. To speak to a live person, I pressed 2 and waited. When this person came on ( I think his name was William )he asked what kind of car I had & did I want to Insure it? I told him "there seems to be a problem." He asked why. I asked him what type of insurance they had & if they insured "LEGS". He replied "LEGS"! I told him yes "LEGS". He asked me what I was talking about. I told him this is where the problem is. He asked what. I told him " i walk eveywhere I go & unless you insure legs by warrenty then there is a problem". He stated to me "are you saying you don't have a vehicle?" I told him " I walk everywhere I go & unless LEGS were under warrenty then it would not be any good for me". He hung up bumfuzzled! !

Try it but don't laugh. BE VERY SERIOUS so they will think you are talking about a vehicle without giving them ANY personal information.

Yes- this is an opportunity. After you’ve done all the Do Not Call stuff (which works sometimes) now it’s time to have a little fun

Pretend you are someone that does them no good. Take up their time with stupid questions (yes there is such a thing as a dumb question). Make them explain very basic things to you over and over and over. Ask them to repeat that last thing they just said, ‘cuz Boomer knocked over his water pail.

Then tell them a story. Make it sound halfway credible. It could be about the time your cousin Jim Bob brought his pickup truck in for warranty work and then they had lunch at the diner and then the stuffed cabbage was raw and then the ambulance came and then he had to leave to get his truck, but then the warranty work wasn’t covered under the warranty and the damn door window still wouldn't go up and then the tornado sireen went off “but there wasn’t no tornadah..” and then ...

See? They hang up on me angry, and I'm feeling happy and entertained! Works for me every time. You'll never hear back from telemarketers who know that you aren't going to be an easy call.

Angry hang ups are easy for these scum. Stupid –yet potential- customers with lots of questions on the verge of buying something are the tough ones for them.

some Indian woman called. I didn't answer the call because I didn't recognize the area code. I called it back and a recorded message came on. It said "the number you are calling from is (xxx-xxx-xxxx)and read my phone number to me. It said if you would like to have this number moved, press 1, if you would like to move another number press 2. I hung up immediately because I did not know what it was and I didn't want it to unactivate my phone number or something. I got a call from the same number a week later. I didn't answer it.

call received from 240-210-7077 caller ID comes up as Pamela Banks... automated system refers to my car's warranty expiring .... funny since I do not have one! there is an option to press 2 and have your number removed. I have used it 2 x's now and am still getting calls. when I call the number back it is a automated system that allows you to opt out.. did this 2 times also...still getting calls ! I received the recorded call and pressed 1 just to rattle their chain. I asked the jerk what vehicle he was calling about and he went on that they covered all makes. I then asked him if they covered Ford (I never owned one) and he said yes. I asked him then if he was from Ford and he alluded to the fact that he was but I kept on hammering him about if his paycheck came from Ford and he finally said yes, but then said no. When I told him I was busy and asked for a number I could call him back at he hung up.

Received the call tonight around 8:15pm. Same as others stated, caller ID said Auto Warranty. I answered just to see if it was automated or if there was actually a person. I let the phone ring 4 times then answered with silence to get a response. The caller (or machine) hung up on me....how rude. :-) Definitely not legit in my opinion.

I got this call on my cell several days ago. It was a recording telling me my auto warranty was about to expire. Instead of pressing 1 to speak to someone or 2 to close the file, I decided to listen to the entire message to see if someone would come on the line. No one did -- the recording appeared to wait for a response, then said, "Your phone number has been added our Do Not Call list. You will not be called again."
