11/18/2012. I received two calls today from a "private number" and I have been unable to find out the actual phone number, but it sounds like a similar scam. The caller says he is calling from Phoenix, AZ and has an offer for a $200 gas card for me. (Not at all from Phoenix but in fact from over seas.). During the first call i said i wasnt interested and told them to remove me from the list. I repeated that instruction during the second call, at shich point the caller started yelling at me, saying that they do no exist to take orders from me. Funny when I stated that I am an attorney (true) with connections to the prosecutor's office (also true) and that I was reporting them to the Secretary of State (also true - for my home state), he hung up. I will be reporting these to FCC and FTC as well as my state AG and Secretary of State.

Scam, spam or whatever. Ship's horn followed by "this is your captain" offering a free cruise for filling out a survey. Called an office number.

I've received this call numerous times on my mobile phone (which is really irritating), but just got it on my landline at work. Getting really tired of this same unsolicited, irritating call. Hang up as soon as they blow the ship's horn in your ear.

Strange that your bogus call hit at 7:58 PM. I was hit with a bogus call at 7:46 PM 13 November 2012. This looks like several sources are doing scattershot calling at about the same time. In fact, according to my Caller ID, I had two calls hit at that exact same time, one from 202-505-5383, the other from 504-861-5879! This is getting weirder and weirder! Now, to go report both calls and others to the FCC and the FTC!

I think I've gotten a call from these people before today (the number just says 'unknown' on my phone), but I decided to answer it today just now (7:27 pm today...I think they called at a similar time yesterday). I should have asked this guy's name, but I wasn't thinking about it...he told me that I was entered in a drawing for 1 million dollars because I was a rewards credit card holder or something like that. He asked if I have a visa, mastercard, or discover still, and I said that I have a discover card...he didn't ask me for my credit card number, though (and I didn't give him any more details about the card). He then says that I'll be getting a watch (I asked if I have to pay for anything, or pay for shipping, and he said no), and some free magazines. He also confirmed my cell phone number and address...yeah, don't know where they got this information from if they're not working for the credit card companies. Next, he told me that they would also be sending me a couple of magazines that I would have to pay weekly charges for...it was at this point that I asked him not to send me any magazines at all, even the free ones (he asked why, and I told him I don't read magazines at all). I think he's probably still sending me the watch, but I don't think he mentioned it again. Anyways, nice and friendly guy, but I don't know what it's all about.

appears to be spam, .. or something,.. disguised as a servey. Do our survey and get a free cruise bla bla bla starts with a boat horn but from other research only finishes with hung up calls. Pretty sure this is a phone phishing scam.

Got called at around 2:45pm by some woman named Jessica who was VERY friendly. She knew my first name, my address, and I verified my date of birth with her. She told me everything very fast and didn't really say what the sweepstakes were for, or if there were any charges going to my card. She said good luck and asked if it was okay if her supervisor called me back to do a survey and make sure she had done her job correctly. So I said yes.
A man called me back, didn't get his name, and he started out asking me if Jessica was polite and friendly the entire call, which I replied that she was. Then he re-told me about the watch and magazines and then mentioned a price. I asked him to clarify what I was paying for, and he just repeated the same pre-written BS to me about 6 or 7 times. The first few I was trying to wrap my head around what he was trying to sell me, and the last few were me saying I didn't want in on it. Then I asked him when I entered this and he said I could never enter it myself, that I was chosen because I was a valued mastercard holder. That's when I knew it was all BULLSHIT because I'm a shitty cardholder and am usually late with my payments.
Told him I didn't want the magazines and he kept just saying he'd hold while I found my card. I told him no, and finally just said do not enter me in this contest, I don't want it. He asked why in the hell I wouldn't want $25000 and I said not from you people, and he got huffy and hung up.
Went back to check if there was any time stamp on the call, and it doesn't even show up on my phone. :S
Thank god I didn't give out my credit card info, but it's still TERRIFYING that they have all this other info about me.

As ''W'' suggested, being unlisted does not hide your phone from a sequential dialer. No one with that gadget needs to ''have'' your number. It merely tries every number in creation by rapid brute force. Possibly numbers are flagged for retry according to the response.

Called my unlisted and screened work phone with their stupid message, so they must be using an illegal random dialer. Put it on speaker and wasted their phone-line time until their machine gave up. Pure rip-off. Anyhow, I have been to the Bahamas - and you would have to pay me a great deal to go back (also a pure rip-off). Can we hunt them down and put them into a public pillory?

This is the main place that I have worked for and to send complaints about: There direct number for employee's is 757-490-9860. I worked here for two weeks before I relized how we were scaming customers...the "free diamond watch" only cost the company $2 bucks each and as far as I know there are no real sweepsteaks drawings...I needed a job, and it was a quick job to get and I am sorry for anyone I have sold to. Do not work here!! The person the employee talks to too call in sick or whatever is JR, just ask for him and they will put you through. Not sure if this will help anyone but I noticed how NRS the fake company we say in the script has a D- on the BBB website and IMA (International Marketing Association, Inc.) rating is great, which is the actual company that we as employees are not allowed to say on the phone.

I have seen 3 diffrent random numbers in my cell phone. They never leave a message so I decided when they called again I'd pick up. These ppl were very nice. They even offered me a family and friends discount! Ask them who they were and Where they were from. They gave me full names and employee numbers. They even sat and discussed there personal life with me. Long story short, idk weither this is a scam of not. What I do no is after I hung up I decided to do some research and stumbled upon this page. So I must admit, it was early and they did wake me up out of my sleep when they said "we see that you'ves been using a visa card, can you verify the #" i did. Shortly after i did this I realized it was a dumb move so I called the customer service line, they really were saleing magazines. I asked to cancel. She said my order hadn't posted and to call back.I then went to my account online and saw that not only had they taken the magazine money they had also taken and extra dollar. This was strange so I called the bank. Come to find out the two payments went to separate places I Immediatly canceled my visa and got a new one. Sn: I have to call this magazine place to try and cancel again. and I wish they would tell me I can't cancel!

"yes, I'm calling because you are an owner of a mastercard." .... which was not a valid answer to your question. Not a bad objection handling script these oily reps have.

December 1st, 2010 stacey NJ

I received a call from this NRS place this morning. Their number was 3475542064.The woman told me that I was entered into a sweepstakes because I own a mastercard. I immediately asked her if she was calling from my bank and she said "yes, I'm calling because you are an owner of a mastercard." I was suspicious but i decided to listen to what she had to say. She told me that I have been entered to win the same prizes that everyone on this website seems to have been mentioning (the money, car, and trip.) since it was so early in the morning and i was writing an essay, i was a bit distracted but i heard her mention that I will be receiving 2 free magazines as long as i pay 4.99 a week for Rolling Stone (which i dont even read.) I told her that i was not interested in the offer but she persisted. She then went on to ask me survey questions and asked me what i would do if i won the sweepstake money, jokingly i said that i would pay for my college tuition and she laughed and said people normally spend it on clothes. I kept telling her that i am no interested but she said that this is a great deal and she asked me if my address was the one on file. She had my correct address and i was outraged. i do not understand where she received my information from. I was then transferred to her supervisor who asked me for the style of watch that i would like. I hung up on him and i received a call back in seconds from a private number but i ignored the call. i tried to call the 1st number back but it gave me a busy signal. this is a ridiculous scam and i made sure to cancel my card and have my bank send me a new one. watch out for the scams out there and hope this helps.

i have been getting unknown caller calls on my cell phone for the past few days so tonight i decided to answer it. when i did a woman asked for evan, my daughter. i asked who was calling and i couldnt understand what she said her name was. i then asked what the call was in reference to and the woman went on with her nrs b.s. and said that it was a sweepstakes for all major credit card holders and it was free to enter. i was all we dont have any credit cards. and she was all well do you have a debit with a visa or master card logo on it? and i said yeeeeeeaaaaaah. (long like that too) and she said good that is how he got entered into the sweepstakes. i told her that the number she was calling was my personal cell phone and that my daughter was only 14 and she had no access to either my debit card or my cell phone and asked her how she got my number. she said a broker bought my information from my credit card company. i told her that it was highly unlikely that my bank would sell information that they do not have on file along with my daughters name to them. i must have taken her off guard, cause she kinda laughed and said you would be surprised at what the brokers sell them. i asked her who the broker was, but then she said something about if i verified the last 4 digits of my debit card i could be entered in the free sweepstakes. for free. i said no thanks and she was pretty nice about the whole thing. i just think its weird how they got my cell number and my kids name.

October 16th, 2010 Amy CA

I was getting calls all day from some number I don't recognize. I don't usually pick up the phone in these instances, but I was getting fed up with these calls, so I decided to finally answer. It was about 7pm. Some girl told me that I had been entered in the Dream Come True Sweepstakes and that I would be entered in a drawing for all sorts of amazing prizes like $25,000, a Mustang and a trip to Australia. She asked me to participate in a survey and that she would send me 4 free magazines and a diamond watch as a 'thank you' gift for participating. She proceeded to ask me questions about my age, whether I was employed, my hobbies/interests (which I'm guessing they asked to gauge what kind of magazines they think I might be interested in), etc. She told me that they would send me 3 for free, but that they would need a little help with the fifth one. She said that they would send me the ESPN magazine for $4.99 per week. When I asked her if I could switch to a different mag because I don't read ESPN, she said she would transfer me to her supervisor and I could ask her. Then she asked me to confirm my address. While I was in the middle of rattling off my address, her 'supervisor' suddenly popped in. She asked me if I wanted the men's or ladies style diamond watch. I asked her about changing the ESPN magazine to something else and she said that I could change my subscriptions any time. When I asked her how long I had to keep paying for the subscriptions she said 60 months. That's when I was sure that this was fake. She asked me for my credit card number. I said, "Oh, my credit card number is ...." then I hung up. They tried to call me back right after, but I ignored it. Being a tease is fun, though I just wasted about 8 minutes of my life. Watch out for them. Just tell them to take you off their calling list and hang up.

Well...Well...Well, of course you guys are speculators and have a lot to say, and at first I didn't want to hear anything anyone was writing down...So the same way they lure in the buyers is the same way they lure in their workers!!! Crazy...right? Well they put a add in the Newspaper, saying "Hiring for people who love to talk, starting out making $10,$12, or $15 an hour! So me I say hey, what kind of money? I defenitely called them up and they said that I could start training the next day! I was so happy it seemed too good to be true, plus I had a Communicating a Threat On my record from when I was sixteen, which should have dropped off but it didn't, well anyway to make a long story short, they don't even do a credit check, or a background check! Now my credit is decent, but a lot of call centers won't hire me due to the charge beings that the work environment is talking with people!!!!! Well any way, so yeah there are people in their working with felonies, theft, fraud, all kinds of things! SMH, and the worst thing is, they are the ones who lie the most, because they want the most money! Well after the interview I found out that the starting amount was NOT 10, 12, or 15! It was really LESS than minumum wage! I was getting paid $7.25 WTH, and min wage is supposed to be $7.55 in this state! So yeah let's get back to the story, everything you guys are saying is EXACTLY what we are scripted to say, word for word! My first day I had one close, my second day, which was yesterday, I had 7 sales but only 4 closed, which means they were lured in...Well, I didn't really think it was a scam, I just thought that it was for VERY EXTREMELY LUCK PEOPLE! Well as I worked on my second day, I realized that EVERYONE was getting the SAME order number, which was C-208! i was like WHAT? If people are getting different magazines how are they all getting the SAME order #, also if the person tries to call back, they won't get through to anyone, and if they did, how would anyone know who is who, because ALL OF THE ORDER # ARE THE SAME !!!!!!! I thought about it, and told myself to make a personal note, and to check and see if anyone ever won the "DREAM COME TRUE SWEEPSTAKES!" Well if there is someone out there, I surely don't know, and as I researched the actual sweepstakes I ran across this information! I was shocked and kind of depressed because My wallet was stolen about a week ago, and I had a lot of cash in there, and so I figured I would still work for these people, until i made up for my loss! Well guess what, this is where you guys can be sceptical and ask, Why would you continue to work for a group of people like this, well when measures become desperate measures, I had to do what I had to do, I had a $236 car payment, cell phone bill, cable, and water bill due all around the same time! I told myself, Jess, just go in there and make that MONEY, that is all that mattered, but as I walked to the computer, I thought to myself, how could anyway one do this to people, and I remembered how I felt, when my wallet was stolen just a few days bak, and how I thought, HOW COULD SOMEONE JUST TAKE MY WALLET AND WALK AWAY LIKE IT IS NOTHING, THEY HAVE NO CONSCIENCE !!! Well me doing that mess to people, would make me NO BETTER THEN THE PERSON WHO STOLE MY WALLET! I am a religious person, and I said that if God did not want me working here he will show me a sign...well not longer than 5 minutes of being on the floor, a call went over the intercom, and said that the person of a BLANK car with BLANK tags Need to move there car before it is towed, well I had parked in the same spot for two-three days now and they never said anything before, which wasn't the worst part! The guy told me to PARK MY F****** car across the street, which is a 10 lane intersection, including turning lanes, five one way five another! and of course I know how to cross the street, but I asked him where across the street he told me he doesn't F****** know and that if MY A** would have got there earlier than I would have had a spot, let me remind you I was there 10 minutes earlier, and I had parked in the same spot for the past two/three days! So I left and didn't go back, and told myself that I was not going to do this to people, and I was defenitely not going to be talked to like a piece of crap! So they are not running their business honestly, and YES, for all the people who asked, I worked for them, did research, and to answer all the questions...YES NRS IS A FRAUD FOR BOTH THE WORKERS AND THE CUSTOMERS, the $10, $12, $15 is somewhat ture, you get rewarded like any sales building, but you make $10 an hour ONLY IF you con at least 30-and up people that week! That is at least 5-6 people per day, and it only counts if the person GIVES OUT THE NUMBER, and it is AUTHORIZED AND APPROVED! so if I sold to 99 people and only 10 decided to give a card number, when they got to the "supervisor" and it acutally goes through, that is when you get paid, but that ten probably only 5-7 have a valid or approved card, so yes it is all a scam and a way to get your money, adn if you don't believe me, remember the next time they call, and listen, let them get ot the bottom, and then wait for you order number...IF IT IS NRS, your order number will DEFENITELY BE "C as is cash dash(-) 208!" some people will say C as in cat, but in the actual script book, it says C-208...so beware, and please take my advice, I wouldn't scam anyone purposely and I hope no one else, would, and then you think IF it was the customer on the other end of the phone, I became the customer and they were the sales rep, would they give a care...MAYBE not because that is their way of making money, but I wouldn't do that to anyone because I wouldn't want it done to me, my family, or friends! THINK ABOUT IT, honestly there are hundreds of sales rep, in the center everyday and they take advantage of older sweeter people, who feel like they can take a few of their bucks and buy magazines, but if you think about it, these people could be your parents, or grandparents, who are getting indirectly robbed!

This number has been calling my house 3-4 times a week for a year now. We moved in last November and I'm guessing a Spanish family had this number. Whenever I answer they ask for somebody who doesn't live here so I tell them they aren't here and to stop calling. When I try calling them back, I get the broken dial tone sound.

Yes I received a call today. They will keep calling until you answer. It is a scam nothing in the world is free somebody has to purchase something, I know they don't just give prizes away. Remember any contest or sweepstakes these days require some type of on contribution. However, don't buy into it, I told the guy that answered to please remove me from this. They will. If not file for harassment and make some claims! :-)

I am so pissed at this ridiculous scam of a company!!!!! I have been called by the same stupid opinion poll company ,giving away "free" passes to their cruise, from four different states now. It always shows up as a call from a different state. You never get to actually talk to anyone and ask to be taken off the list, you can't return the call, I even tried to have the number blocked from my phone through my phone company...all without success. At one point I did go through the automated steps to be taken off their no-call list, but I have forgotten how I did that and I just got another call from them anyway, so obviously they don't give two craps about the no-call list! I wish someone had the time and money to sue this people. I would definitely sign their petition list!!!!

Just for the heck of it, I played along with their bait: Your Captain Speaking; Answered 10 automated questions with the promise of 2 free cruise tickets at the completion of the survey; Listened to a spiel from "one of their sponsors" which was a home security company; Talked with live person who asked if this phone number was the best at which to call me and what the zip code is; Automated "Captain" told me to go to www.surveyclaim.com to sign up for the tickets. Needless to say, the whole thing is a scam. They even called me at work, on our unlisted number! How do they get the numbers they call?

June 24th, 2010 GET REVENGE

Just for fun, if you are working or living in an environment that you could do this in, answer the phone whenever a suspected telemarketer is on the line. If you hear a real human voice and they start their shpeel, hold a gas charged air-horn to the phone & blast them for a second or two! You can get them from amazon.com for as little as $7.00 for the 1.4oz can or under $30.00 for the 8oz which will last a very long time if used in short bursts. Refill 8oz cans are about $16.00. Free Shipping often available on orders over $25.00!

Even if it's a recording, wait and see if a human takes over the call or if there is an option for them to start recording you, then blast them!

hello everyone, i just want to let everyone know that it is not a fraud, i worked there for about 2months. There are several different companys but the one i worked for is the NRS its located in Virginia Beach Va. Yes they know your First and last name and address that is all. There was about 200 of us working inside making phone calls everyday. Some of the workers are rude when the person that answers the other line is rude but there is about 4 supervisors that work above the callers who listen in to about 1 or 2 of our phone calls a day and if they hear u cursing or being rude you are immediatly fired but thats the problem there is only 4 of them for about 200 people. When the customer answers the phone we say there name and read a script, yes there is a real sweepstakes that is held every year but you usually hear about the next years drawing, then we used to say "your in the running for 25000 in cash, a brand new ford mustang GT conveertible or a trip for 4 to australia, plus hundreds of other valuable prizes and there is no purchase or payment necessary" but we made so many calls in one day i know i was averaging about 900 calls in a 5 1/2 hour shift. At the end of each call they will tell you about a magazine offer but at the beginning of the call they tell you that either its a courtesy call or a sales call so listen. The main objective of the company is to sell you magazines, but the worst part is that once give them you credit card info you CANNOT CANCEL! but there are people who actually want the magazines but we have to call until we find those people, but the people who usually call you are extremly nice so dont hang up on them cause thats how they keep there job but once they transfer you over to the supervisor feel free to hang up because the ones who call you just need a few good leads a day to keep their job that does not mean that you have to buy, and those people wont ask for your credit card information or anything like that, they are simply just reading a script, yeah i know annoying but hey they need a job and its an easy job. another tip if you do not want them to call you, you have to say the word LIST, like take me off you list, if u say dont call me no more, imma call the cops, loose my number or if you curse it doesnt matter they will still call you again. so say the actual word LIST in your phrase. and it may take a couple of days for the computer to realize they put you on the do not call list. but it really is a good offer for people who actually read the magazines or actually want them like businesses, but just remember that its for a whole 60 months thats 5 years that you pay 4.99 a week you do the math! HOWEVER I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO WORK THERE!

Definatley a scam, this makes me angry seeing all the names and comments of people this NSA has harassed and taken advantage of. Its bad enough to steal money, but when the devil dresses up as a sheep ya dont know it right? I got a call from MEG and ya being a man when i hear a woman i listen, suprisingly she knows all about me already, and tells me about this sweepstakes and i could win 25,000 dollars or a mustang, well that sounds good right? Then she says as a complimentary package i can get two magazines for free every month for six months with a purchase of ROLLING STONE for 4.99, i let her keep talkint and shes tellin me about virginia and how theres alot of navy there and shes askin me questions and tells me her supervisor is gonna be on the phone and to not let her down. Im in the middle of tellin her about where im stationed and then this guy comes on and starts talkin about sendin me a watch and a welcome package, well when he got to the credit card line i hung up and after replaying it all in my head idk why i just didnt hang up all that time, it was early and i was half asleep, and im just not rude like that. But how can these guys get to us like that? They obviously look for those kind hearted people who just cant say no and take advantage of them. Its hard enough workin to make a livin but when these people are tryin to trick you into believing there might be some luck in the world it just isnt right. Im using every resource to get to the bottom of this. Anyone who has info please help us out.

Look, if these people call you, its a fraud. They tell you that you have been entered by Visa or Mastercard or any other one of the major card names into a sweepstakes. Its BS. They will ask you some minor personal info, and then they will ask for your full name and card number to verify. DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM. If you have, report fraud and cancel the card immediately. Now, for them calling you nonstop. The only way I have ever dealt with telemarketers and people who involve themselves in fraud like this is to harass them back. So if they call you nonstop ask the person on the other line to give you a number(if you got an unknown call) and ask them for an extension to reach that particular person. Then just call the living crap out of them. I didn't stop until they placed me on their do not call list. And yes, I did use every nasty word in the book. The only way to make them stop is to harass them back and then make them put you on the do not call list. So don't be fooled.

Sent to PAETEC, Sprint and Citistream:

This complaint is in reference to on-going unsolicited recorded telemarketer calls from Esta Sol to my home phone (on the National DO NOT CALL list).

The most recent call I received was on 3/12/2010 at 9:30 am from 402-982-0548.

Every time I receive a call from these scammers for a "Free Cruise, I have called to be placed on their DO NOT CALL list.
They state that calls will cease within 72 hours. This has been going on for months!!

I have filed a complaint with the FCC and the National Do Not Call registry, concerning this issue.

I have had to turn off the ringer on my home phone because they call as many as 4 times a day!
Please do something to make these people stop harassing thousands of people with their incessant telemarketing harassment!

I searched with NumberInvestigator.com for several numbers listed below.

Your company is listed as:

Company Name: ESTA SOL | ESTASOL

Esta Sol calls from no fewer than 17 different phone numbers:

Esta Sol, Estasol & Washington DC will also come up on the caller ID.

I know many people would appreciate your assistance in stopping this company.

Thank you.

I had two "no message" calls on my answering machine today from 231-224-2050. Disconnected showed up on the caller ID. I called the number and received an option to have my number removed which I chose. However, the company name was number identified. I just got a message saying I've reached the cumstomer service section. I'm also on the Do Not Call list and have been for a while. Even if this company is legit, they should still be honoring that list.

They called my cell number. Idiots. Caller ID showed +012312242050. Something along the lines of a "lower my interest rate on my credit card to XXX%. Consider this your last notice. Press 1 to talk to an operator blah blah blah" Then it just disconnected as I sat there. Idiots and scam marketers. Now that I know who they are, I will be filing a report with the FTC, etc. Thanks for the cash, idiots.

You people who supposedly worked for "DISCONNECTED" or CTC marketing...you need to get a life where you help people rather than bother them. IT IS A SCAM!!!! If you don't list your company name and people get abused when they want to have their number removed...that's a bad sign. If it bothers you to be cursed at...do something else! I don't curse at regular sales folks when they call. I do get upset when I politely ask to have my name removed and I get a smart ass response.

They've changed the number they call from... used to get these same calls from 228 area code. When you do get a person on the line, and ask that they remove you from their database, they start yelling... UGH!

This company called me 3 times yesterday. The first two I was in class and did not answer. The third one woke me up from a nap and I groggily listened as some black lady buttered me up with promises that I was entered into a sweepstakes for over a thousand different prizes with the grand being $25,000, a brand new gt mustang convertible, or a trip to austrailia for 4. Obviously because I have never been scammed before, I am 18, I wasn't immediately suspicious that somehow they got my number, said I was in a sweepstakes even though I never entered into anything and they never told me the name of the company though I now know it to be NRS. She then continued to persuade me that I was going to receieve a free diamond watch, asking me what style I wanted it in, and even asking me which grand prize I'd prefer. She then asked me if she had my correct address, again how did she know my address?, and I informed her that I was now living at WSU. She then asked me if I had a visa or mastercard, I stupidly told her and then she tried to sell me on the rolling stones magazine for only 4.99 a week with 3 other free magazines. It sounded like a good deal so she trasnfered me to her supervisior he proceeded to get my visa card number and I was later charged that night twice by the company. The first charge was $1 to make sure my account was valid, though they did not inform me it would be "checked". The second was for 69$. The entire phone call I could hear people in the background asking the exact same questions I was being asked, even when I was "transfered" to their supervisor. They call was also very rushed, they sped from one topic to the other and in my sleepy state I wasn't given the chance to think about any of my previous questions until the second I hung up. I then cancelled my card and I have been talking to my bank to see if they can do anything with the charge, because it is still pending. The number provided by the company who charged me at my bank was 1-888-854-4706. I called this number and it is not a direct link to the company it is some customer service number. The lady there informed that there was no records of me and that there wouldn't be until my account was "processed" in the next 24 to 48 hours. Or probably however long it takes for my bank to make the charge final. Has anyone else who actually gave them thier card number found out if they could get their money back or if there is actually any product?

I just got a call from these guys telling me the same things as all of you! some NRS sweepstaes and that i was eligible to win 25000 dollars in cash and a ford mustang and something else. The guy told me that there was no purchase necessary and that and then asked me if i still owned a visa, master card, etc. He was rambling on about who knows what as i was searching up NRS on google and came across this site. I then asked the guy what company he was working for again and he repeated NRS and continued on where he left off i guess and then i just hung up. I'm guessing they got my number from some crappy website named "freecrazylaptop.com". I gave this website my phonenumber out of curiosity to find out if the advertisement on the radio about a free laptop was true. After i realized how that offer worked i got off the computer and exited the website. within a matter of minutes i got spammed with text messages on multiple offers. I had to reply to all of them to "STOP!" haha. I'm pretty sure that this is how "NRS" got my phone #. So if some of you are wondering how they got your information, try remembering if you visited a shady website of some sort.

I work for answer solutions as well. It is mosst deff not a scam. We work very hard at what we do and it is a lot of repetitive work. All you immature people saying fuck you and my name is hairy balls, its not cute, or funny. You just make yourselves look dumb. We are giving you an opportunity to get you away and get you on vacation which is a wonderful opportunity since no one can afford to. If you want to be put onto our do not call list, you have to actually sit on the line and be transferred to the do not call list and then type in the number you do not want called. We can not do it for you. Stop complaining and do it yourselves if you do not want to be contacted!

I got several calls over the last few days and finally answered this morning because the phone woke me up.
I was aready on edge from being awakened. The scammer was very polite and tried some reverse psychology to "put me in a better frame of mind and mood"(didn't work, I've studied psychology for YEARS) and pushed a relentless hard sell about how the sweepstakes was free but I had to pay for magazines I ordered (what magazines?)
Their only goal was to get my Visa #.
I pretty much told them what they could do with themselves before I'd ever give ANY stranger that info and hung up.

I just got a call from these people that woke me out of a deep sleep. I spoke with Anthony in Virginia Beach, and honestly he was very nice. since he kept saying 'absolutely free' I kept listening to what he had to say. Then all of a sudden 'absolutely free' became 5$ a week. And I guess it's my fault for not hanging up then, but I guessed I could cancel it. I then talked to Melissa who was also very nice, but maybe that's just because I'm an idiot and gave her my debit card number, my social security number and my DOB. I wonder if she was giving everyone thumbs up as if to say "hey! we got another moron!" Come onn, I have the flu! Cold medicine and being woken up from a dead sleep will make you a bit loopy. So when I checked the caller ID to call them back and cancel, it said private number. And searching for a website brought this up. So I'm guessing I need to cancel my debit card now, but what should I do about my SSN? Am I screwed? were any of you able to call back and cancel?

I was called twice today by an unknown number. The first time, no one answered. The second time, an older-sounding woman tells me I've been entered in this NRS sweepstakes. She asks me if I still have a Visa/Master/whatever card, I foolishly say yes. She proceeds to start asking me survey questions. At this point I am politely informing her of my disinterest and asking her to put me on a do-not-call list, while she continues to talk through me. She repeats several times that there is no purchase necessary. When she finally stops, I calmly repeat my request. She says, verbatim, "Oh fuck you," and hangs up. I'm glad I didn't answer any of her questions, except that first one. But all she knows is that I have a credit card (actually a debit). Needless to say I'll be watching my account. I only wish I knew which number was the one that called me, among the ones reported here, so that I could call her back and show her what a REAL verbal lashing is like. Let's see how she handles a pissed-off, clinically depressed college student!

I work FOR answer solutions... for the record we have absolutely no control over who gets called. On our end the phone actually rings and we answer the line... we are technically considered an 'inbound' call center. Anyways, hearing on the daily to "go die" to "F*** off" etc. is very rude and inappropriate, especially from those of you that are supposed to be considered and treated as grown men and women. The economy is going down the toilet and the people that work here are just trying to get by like everyone else. We are by no means a SCAM. I have actually been on the cruise myself to check it out and its very nice... Next time you get a call and don't want to receive the free passes and never want to be called again, instead of cursing raising your voice or making up a false name like "Ben Dover" "Mike Hunt" or "Barack Obama" maybe you should be an adult and let us know you would like to be removed from the list. We then can transfer you to be removed, it's a quick, painless process... I promise you that just cursing and then hanging up on us will only cause more phone calls your way because you wont be taken off any lists until you have been transfered. You act like were the heartless because we wake you up at one in the afternoon or god forbid interrupt your meal, etc... were doing OUR JOB... by you acting the way you do, I have no hope left for America. United we stand divided we fall I suppose... Have a good night everyone.

Yesterday I received three calls on my mobile phone from the number 8667642798. The first time I answered but heard nothing, the second time I missed the call, Then the 3rd time, I answered and a woman said I was entered in a sweepstakes from NRS (I thought she said NRF though)
I joined several dozen paying survey sites, so I assumed she was from them, but I couldn't recall any of them called NRS/F. Then, she said I needed a credit card or debit card, none of which I had. And I became suspicious because I wouldn't have lied and told the survey site that I had one.
I told I didn't have any of those and she said "Well, that's a problem because you need one." Kind of confused, I said "Oh...ok." Then after a moment of silence, she hung up.
I'm going to block those calls now and see if I can report that number.

I just got off the phone with them no longer than ten minutes ago. I thought it was a scam. A lady first called (they called btw 4 times my cell phone)claiming to be from Florida somewhere and saying that I was entered in a million dollar sweepstakes (after asking me what if I carried a visa or mastercard credit card) and that as a gift they were sending me a free watch as well as subscriptions to magazines for about 4 dollars a month all together. I asked about the subscriptions and if I'd have to continue paying for them, and she said that she'll have the manager/supervisor call back. He did within minutes and gave the same run down, and offered the magazines in which I said I was not interested. He continued to ask what I was interested in, I told him and he tried to offer me a bunch of magazines that had to do with what I was interested in for only the 4 dollars a month and all this other stuff to go with it. In the end I said, I appreciated it but I'm not interested. He said thank you and then hung up. I'm canceling my credit card. BEWARE!!!!

If you take a few minutes to search on the Net about this topic, you can quickly realize that the Credit Card scam related to gifts and/or low interest rate offers has been going on since at least, 2003. I've read enough on this subject to come to the conclusion that these call centers (wherever they are located in the world) operate without any fear of being caught. They cause hundred of thousand dollars losses daily to the credit card companies and guess what? The credit card companies pass their losses to the users who are…you and me. As of today, these pirate call centers are still operating in full force across North America. They have found the loophole for escaping from FBI and RCMP. The typical “model citizen” usually reports the fraud to the attorney or local police. I have news for you. You can file as many complains as you want to the authorities, they just can’t catch them! You can threaten of reporting their annoying calls to the phone companies, you can swear, being rude, vulgar with them – They are the ones controlling the game. They just hang up (laughing) until they receive a call from the next gullible person (and the wheel keeps turning). Whatever you do or say, you won’t be taken off their automated calling list. The heads of these scam acts like a computer virus. They are very much up to date with the changing law enforcement techniques and like a moving target, they disappear in the field. You can find numerous blogs and discussion forums related to this scam (this one is one of them). For every thread on the Net that exposes their illegal activities, they have members posting a message denying complains of people who got ripped off. They introduce contradicting information in blogs in order to confuse people who are unsure about the legitimacy of their offers. They have fake web sites, fake names, fake addresses, etc. Based on these facts, I think the only thing that can be done is to interfere with their practices. How can this be done? By “putting a stick in their wheel", hitting the weakest spot – their need to grab personal information from you. I’ve been practicing for quite a few times now and you’d be impressed by how patient they become when they feel that they have you as a fish on their hook. Again, the only power you have over them is to spend as much time as you can to waste THEIR time. This time you spend with them is time that they can’t use for screwing other people. I've learned a lot from reading in threads on the Net. Here is what I started doing: the principle is to play the game of being interested by their offer, providing fake information, pretending, acting, and creating delays. I hear you say that you don’t know how to reach them because whenever they call you because your call I.D. shows: 123-456-7890 (or any other spoofed phone i.d.). Didn’t I tell you they were smart? Here are a few numbers that still work as of today: 1 800-501-0100 (to reach the vacation trip scam) | 1 888-786-6201 or 1 800 943-3250 or 1 800-961-9830 (to reach the MCS credit card interest rate scam). If you need more numbers you can with a little effort “google” the name of the organization along with in the search field and it should pull more numbers to call to. Finally, here is my recipe for a great "obstruction" session upon these scammers: 1) take a hands free phone (portable is even better as you can still conduct you home activities) 2) get them to go through their entire sales pitch by encouraging and acknowledging every once in a while 3) make it last as long as your time permits (they are the one assuming the charges of the “1-800” communication). 4) When you feel that they suspect your “game” (or when you’re bored whichever comes first), find a nice and polite way to tell them that they've just wasted 15-20 minutes (sometimes more) of their precious time stealing other gullible people. I guarantee you that you will get some reaction at the other end of the line. Give them a ride and flood their phone lines! Make their life as miserable as they do to us. HEARING THEIR FRUSTRATION IS A GREAT REWARD AND PURE PLEASURE. Don’t be intimidated if they threaten you of anything, they are totally harmless.

I got a call from NRS a couple months ago and told them to not call me again, and that I wasn't interested, supposedly my credit card company gave them my name and number, so then i get called twice today by some lady at NRS, and they tell me im in some sweepstakes and they don't have any personal information. so i tell them im not interested and to get my number and shove it. she laughs and tells me to have a good night, and i tell her to go die. i hope i dont get called from them again...bastards, wasting my time

January 14th, 2009 TRUTH MI

This company called NRS sweepstakes called me and woke me from deep sleep. I was half awake agreeing with what this guy was offering me, next thing i knew i was on the phone with some supervisor talking my ear not even giving me a chance to speak. They proceeded to charge my account in which i found out the number to call this place back which is 1888-854-4706, i called back them to set up my threat to them, and asked them to refund my account, and to never call me again. They told me they could not do anything of that sort for the next 48 hours. They scammed me, but i will get them back one way or another.

January 6th, 2009 annoyed ON Canada

I have received about 10 calls from this "company" on our home phone, plus on my husband's and my cell phones (I never give my cell # out so I don't know how they got the number). I'm on the Canada do not call list and have filed a complaint thru them, but just got another call. I have never answered the questions and know it's a scam, but how do I get them to stop calling????? - it's driving me crazy!, You can never get through to s live operator unless you answer the Q's.

How's it going fellaz?
I have a question thats been bugging me for a long time.. What is acai berry?
I keep seeing commercials on tv and ads on the internet so im finally beginnging to get interested.
I guess its some fruit that is very healthy for you and your skin?
I wouldnt mind losing a couple pounds so i kinda want to buy acai berry .. so if any
of you know any good online stores that would be cool!
I also saw it was featured on OPRAH so maybe there is some truth to this lol.
