The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want
some jerk |
somejerk calls from 8 phone numbers:
Called 2/25/14 no message left
Called 2/28/14 hung up when I answered
YOU VIRGINIA RESIDENTS REALLY NEED TO GET A LIFE AND STOP MAKING OUTGOING CALLS TO US CONNECTICUT RESIDENTS AND LEAVE US ALONE! WHENEVER ANY OF YOU VIRGINIA RESIDENTS ARE USING YOUR AUTOMATIC RECORDING MACHINES WHICH MAKE OUTGOING CALLS IN SEQUENCE, YOU'RE SOLICITING AND WOULD LIKE YOU TO STOP CALLING US AND MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!
Hang up when you answer
They are constant callers offering to lower my rates, but I have told them many times that they have told me that I do not qualify, yet they do not remove me from the list.
Another card holder services call!@#$@#$%%$^!
I received another call just now. My plan was to give a false credit card number and mess with them, but the telemarketer was too interested in talking to the person next to them. She made the pitch, but had no interest in following-up even when I told her I had 8 grand in debt at 21% interest. At that point she just hung up on me. These callers are probably only interested in getting their minimum wage paycheck and could care less whether you respond or not.
Anyway here is the only solution I can offer. It will probably do no good, but at least it can make some of our voices heard. Also with the statement about the NSA below I am trying to send a message about how the priorities of our government are misguided.
I have created a petition on the White House website. If it gets 100,000 signatures the President will review it. If you agree with it please log-in to the White House website and sign the petition and let everyone you know about it. Thanks for your support.
We petition the Obama administration to:
Crackdown on fraudulent telemarketers and Do Not Call List violations
Request the Federal Government make a stronger effort to crack down on telemarketing operations who make fraudulent offers, attempt to steal credit card numbers and frequently violate the Do Not Call list. If the NSA is capable of tracking the phone calls and e-mails of individual American citizens, certainly the US Government has the resources to discover and prosecute call centers making millions of phone calls a month from a small number of locations. Please Mr. President put a stop to these criminal organizations and end the harassment of law-abiding American citizens!
620-504-7452 - Come on is to lower your credit card interest rates. They ask a series of questions about your debt total across how many cards. The which card do you think has the highest rate. Then they ask your Zip Code. They will say for security please only provide the last 4 of your SS number. Then they ask for the credit card number and exp date. They put you on hold and call the automated system for the card. I gave them a card for Capitol One that was no good. Been replaced. I wasted as much time as possible. Said I had to go out to car get card. When I finally gave them the number they put me on hold and came back saying that the card had been replaced with a new card. I said oh yea that's correct, I grabbed the wrong card. Hang on while I go out and get the new one. He held for a while and then I came back and started to give him 4 numbers, and then stopped. I ask him why he was calling from a disconnected phone number? He said not sure what is up with that. Said I'm just the call taker. Then I ask why his number has SCAM all over it when searched online? He finally hung up. I like screwing with these jerks. Wast their time and pisses them off. Tell next time. I get 1 to 2 of these call per week. Then publish their number on every site possible.
This time this number called I played along & pretended to be old. This jerk asked for my cc#. This is a GIANT SCAM!!!!!Please remind your elderly family mambers & young adults to NEVER give out their personal info to people who call.
call every other day no message
I think is a ripoff they want your social security number and your card number BE CAREFULL
Said they were from cardholder services about my accounts. I hung up. I've received previous calls from them (altho don't know if it was from same number), and asked to be removed. Yeah, right!
Another marketing call? Who is Rachel anyway? Why hasn't Gov done anything about these people by now? "Rachel" must be on the top 10 most wanted by now!
Another marketing call? Who is Rachel anyway? Why hasn't FCC done anything about these people by now? "Rachel" must be on the top 10 most wanted by now!
this time it was account from account ervices.. they just keep calling. what the heck can we do to stop them
A scam called Credit Card Services. Don't fall for it. They hung up on me when I told them to stop calling and take my number off their list. I've tried to press "3" for remove and it doesn't' work and telling them in person also does not work. Best thing to do is keep reporting the number to FTC They call from about 6 different numbers.
Got 2 missed calls from this number. No message. When I called it back i got a recording that said "The number you have dialed has not been allocated."
It's another scam from Credit Card Services. I tried to get a hold of the customer rep but I got transferred to a recorded message. The message said to call a 1-800 number, which I did but it was a wrong number. The people at the wrong number told me that they've been getting a lot of calls like mine. They also stated that they have contacted Credit Card Services, so they can fix the problem but it still persists.
Rachel from credit card services sure has a lot of phone numbers! Total spam. Why can't the justice Dept do their jobs and stop these scammers??
Called on my cell phone. When I answered they hang up. Scammers..
Credit card scam. Says they want to lower my interest rate, but I have NO credit cards.
some type of fraud
telemarketers won't leave me alone.
I use a portable air horn that you can hear two miles away. Auto parts store about $13, runs on a can of compressed air, included. When they start talking, I give them a blast that will destroy their hearing for a few hours. They usually wear a headset and cannot get it off fast enough. I enjoy their calls, but they never seem to call back. Wonder why???
this stupid pedophillic motherfucker actually took the time to hide himself and his number, but being the turd that he is, he is unaware that there are "vays of finding you". When I get all the info on these dumbass dune coons, there will be a Jihad like no other, and we use pictures of Mohammed to do our work.
Several calls over several days; no messages left
Oregon Education Survey - they gave a 1-877 number to call back and complete the survey. -
Dont call back
they called and I did not answer, no message left
They hang up when you answer but the caller ID displayed McPherson KS
Called while I was away from phone but left no message.
CALLER ID SAYS... FALVA AND INMAN AT THE CITY LISTED ABOVE. DIDN'T BOTHER TO PICK UP THE CALL. BLOCKED THEM USING MR NUMBER.
They hung up on me when I answered the phone too.
They did not leave message
The Canadian government trying to intimidate parents who report to the police about pedophiles working in the Ontario school boards.
Please block this call it is continuous and annoying
They called and left no message.
do not call list is a big frigging joke
offered 15 bucks to take poll no thanks I like my pole
Claims to be from CDC in Virginia
Some stupid pain in the ass.
They called, 7:30 pm. Lots of mumbling noise. Asked to not call again. They called 10 minutes later. Noise on background. I said nothing, they hung up after 10 seconds. They called again 2 minutes later.
I have no idea who this is. They called, got our answering machine and I heard the hang up as if it were a live person, not a machine.
Got a call about 5 minutes ago. Girl said she was from some political polling organization. I asked her who is paying for the poll, and she replied in all seriousness, "oh, the poll is free." I said, no, who is paying your firm to take this poll, to which she replied... wait for it... "I don't know." I told her that she should never call my number again and hung up.
I am on the no call list. Why do these folks think they can call me?????
The unwanted calls has become just numerous and out of control, I really think the phone companies have something to do with it so everyone sign up for unlimited call plans.
They started calling two weeks ago in the evening. Only dead air when I answered the first time. Now I decline the call. What a pain.
They are calling my cell phone even though I signed up for do not call...they called me today at 7:21 EST and 2 days ago...I called the number and it is Issues and answers...research center for opinions. Still I do not want them to call my cell and I do not know where they got the number. Seriously, I want to file a complaint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Called around 8:30 p.m. I don't know anyone in Virginia so I didn't pickup. Will file report with FTC (see below) and suggest others do the same, especially if they are on the DoNotCall Registry like myself. Form is very short and quick.
Left creepy voicemail with really heavy breathing for 13 seconds... DID I MENTION CREEPY!!! I called the number back after reading these comments and it said it was the Issues and Answers network and we did recently finish a claim with Allstate... I might call Allstate and tell them that these people are very unprofessional.
I am on the do not call registry and still keep getting
calls from this number!!!
This number has called incessantly for the last two weeks. All hours of the day, and late into the evening. Never leaves a message, but lets the phone ring 20+ times before giving up.
they called my cell but didnt leave a message???
4 calls to my cell phone in 2 days. Never leaves a message.
Tom, ''the whole idea'' of the federal DNC registry was to help us control sales callers. It's been a great success in this house and many others I know. If you'd like to go back to chasing down every compliant sales caller with your no-call demands, go ahead and drop your registration.
You were never promised relief from every single call which you personally don't want. ''The Feds'' are not about to waste their time on DNC complaints regarding calls *WHICH ARE EXEMPT* from the Telemarketing Sales Rule. As to what you ''understand'' of the rules, surveyors are not held by federal law to the thirteen hour daily calling window imposed on sales and debt collection calls. The more polite firms observe similar hours, and only your state law might say any different.
Q&A: The National Do Not Call Registry
you have to fill out the form in the National registry DNC list.they need a time and date this all happened. You,need to do your part ,to get these dirt bags off the streets.
After a couple hours of trying I finally got through to 1-800-234-7783 to tell Issues and Answers Network Inc. to take me off of their calling list. A live human came on and switched me to a person that could remove me. Of course that person wasn't available so I left my name and number and told them to remove me from their list. I'll probably be making another post when they call again.
The call came at 9:39 p.m. local time. As I understand it, it has been illegal to call after 9:00p.m. local time before no call lists started. What good are NO CALL lists when there are so many exemptions from them? The whole idea is that we don't want to be bothered by people we don't know regardless of why they are calling. The Feds never even acknowledge that they have looked into our complaints let alone taken any action. At least the state of Missouri usually sends you a letter in a few months tellin you the action or lack of ability to take action that they have pursued.
They don't leave messages
For any # I don't recognize, or that comes up "private caller" or "unknown", I answer by saying; "_____ (my town) Police Department". BOY! does THAT get rid of calls like this in a hurry!!
(We're a small Township with no local P.D., so I can get away with it.)
Called 3 times in 52 minutes; 4 times total in 2 hrs. Callback yielded message that they are Issues & Answers, a survey firm, and telling me I could call their PR liaison at 1-800-234-7783. I was put onto someone's voice mail to leave my name & number to be taken off their call list. We'll see! This is only going to get worse between now and November. Politicians wrote the do not call laws to exempt themselves. My only hope is that these people are smart enough to know it's a waste of time asking opinions of someone who is already enraged against you, and will actually delete my numbers.
Called my cell. I called back on LAN line and it said it was a political survey. From Greeshan, OR. Do Not Call lists seem to be a joke.
Hey everyone, with the help of my local police department in Tuscon, AZ, I've proceeded to trace the harassing phone calls down to a business in Belmont, Massachusetts. I've discovered information about the owner of the establishment via google and I'm in the process in filing a law suit against this guy. From my research I've discovered, his name is Chris Perron and it appears he's pissed off a lot of other people and business owners (according to negative feedback on his Merchant Circle account as well as other places). You guys can even see it for yourself, just type the guy's name (Chris Perron) and the business (Datboys Data Recovery) into a google search engine, you can see that guy has got some serious problems and definitely needs psychiatric help. So long story shot, if you have also been receiving death threats and harassment from this guy like I have then please contact me via email so I can link you with some references to put this creep to a stop and end the harassment. By the way everyone, Satan destroys his own!
Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions/concerns.on this, I have a lot more information regarding this.
I have been getting numerous calls from all sorts of unknown to me numbers on my cell phone in the last few months which is listed at Do Not Call. No VM, but some are txts.
Sneak advertisements: Do keep an eye open for advertisements disguised as postings about nuisance phone calls. As of this morning, I have counted at least three or four promoting home upgrade services. This is tacky.
Call on cell not answered
Message below this one is from Pac Tel whom I sent a note to. Their response is coded below
We apologize for the issues you have been experiencing with 9712201118. However this number is Not owned by PacWest Telecom. Please contact the carrier of this number Pacific Telecom Communications Group for more assistance:

Called at 1:35 pm on 3-23-12 and came up as Pacifictel ???
This call showed up on my caller ID as calling on 3/23/2012 at 6:23 PM. Other web sites like this one have specified it's a scam political "survey" where they ask you three "political" questions then promise you a "free" cruise, but you must give your credit card number. YEAH RIGHT!
I'm on the DO NOT CALL list, but "surveys" are exempt. That's how these jerks get around the law, they claim to be a "survey."
This call showed up on my caller ID as calling me on 3/23/2012 at 6:23 PM. Other web sites like this one have indicated it's a "scam" political survey where they ask you three "political" questions then promise you a "free" cruise, but they try to get your credit card number.
called on my cell phone. off limits. How do they get my number. I don't give it to anyone other than friends and family.
I have relatives who live in Oregon, but I don't recognize this number at all.
The call was a recorded survey message. The message was a list of questions for political (republican) purposes IE. Do you approve of President Barack Obama. Chicken Sh..s, gave misleading info IE, by completing the survey you will receive a free cruise to Bahamas.
Cruise scam. They want your credit card number.
Please stop calling?
political survey with 2 days cruise. It is a scammer since they want the credit card.
They called, no message. I didn't pick up. Said it was from Oregon. STOP BOTHERING ME!!!
This number reportedly belongs to a Gresham, OR, customer of Pac-West Telecomm, Inc. of San Francisco. Their email address for notfications of abuse is:
Send your complaints to this email address. perhaps if they get enough of them, they will take appropriate action.
Calling on my cell, which is on Do Not Call List.
An automated phony survey from
Another variation on the number 503-457-1194 that called last week with the SAME SCAM: "Free cruise" for answering some 'political' questions, but then THEY ASK FOR YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER. THIS IS A PHISHING SCAM people!
No message left on voice mail. I did not answer the call. Do not know this number or who this is???
Must be on a telemarketing company's "predictive" dialer. If you answer softly the computer will not relay back to the outbound call center rep that there's a live answer. Told them never to call ever again
No message left. Did not answer
I declined call on my cell, they immediately called back. I answered and as usual no one on the other end.
These people have been calling me several times a day for two months now, even calling in the middle of the night. On the rare occassion that I answer it there's nobody there and it hands up after a few seconds.
Called my cell, nobody was on the other end of the line, the call hung-up about 5 seconds after I answered.
This is an information harvesting scam. I got a text to my cell phone from 571-228-1056 claiming that I have won a $1000 Walmart Gift Card and a web site with a code. Went to the site (hxxp://prize-patrol.net/walmart) to see what the scam was, and when you enter the code GIFT it just starts asking for more information.
If you have AT&T and are getting spam texts, check out this article:
One thing it says is, When you receive text spam, forward it to short code SPAM (7726) from your wireless device. There is no charge to report mobile spam. Messages forwarded to 7726 do not count toward your data usage or voice package.
Got a TEXT message from this number - saying "You've been chosen to win a $1,000 WalMart gift card!!!" etc. JERKS. Sent it at 3 AM!!! HATE!!!!!
I called the number back, and I got a recording thanking me for calling Issues and Answers. The recording said that if they had called me, they were interested in my opinions on some marketing something or other. I hung up before the recording finished. I just read the comment from Nathan, and if he is correct, it would have been a legitimate call. We have recently filed a claim with Allstate, and they did say they might follow up with a customer service survey.
sent them to voice mail and they just hung up
Just sent them straight to voice mail. I am also on the do not call list but, political calls are not included on the numbers effected by the do not call list so...as long as it is a political call, we're going to be stuck with it. :(
As others have stated, this is an offer of a two-day cruise to Bermuda offered by a generous benefactor IF I would answer a 30 second political survey. Wow! How can anyone hold back on a generous offer, which as reported below, requires a deposit using a credit card. So, please give a robocaller your credit card because you have a trip. The only trip for this caller entity is to be escorted directly to jail, and do not pass go.
Unknown, no message left
I usually don't answer calls when I don't know the number. Getting tired of these idiots calling, even though I am REGISTERED on the DO NOT CALL list. I got a call from the EFA survey group offering free 2 day/2 night cruise for doing the short survey. As I heard this information, I immediately thought SCAM. Who gives away 2 day/2 night cruise for answering 30 second survey? At the end of the survey, they needed me to pay for the "port fees" to secure my free cruise, $118 per person. I have since blocked their number from calling. Glad to see the DO NOT CALL list is enforced to keep these idiots from wasting our cell phone minutes and time.
Received on cell phone. Did not answer. Will do the most effective thing to make it stop: REPORT THIS NUMBER
TO FTC. Instead of griping, report scam calls with an FTC complaint. (See the bottom of this page for directions.
If enough complaints are reported directly to FTC, then an investation can be speeded up.
It may be great to "vent" here, but you must do more: complaint to FTC.
So, based on the below, it looks like this is a "spoofed" number that the companies use to get to you, even if you're on the Do Not Call list? I got a call from this number on my cell, but I did not pick up. It's amazing how ineffective the "Do Not Call" list has been when I still get junk calls like this. Well, now you know this number is garbage!
I'm so over all of this.....why can't something be done about all the bogus calls and hangups from these companies?
Got a phone call from a number that I don't
480-535-5714 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain
Don't know if this is true of not, I copied this from CallerComplaints.com:
Spoofed Numbers: Caution, 480-535-5714 is a
I did not answer since caller ID told me that this was another spammer.
1-16-2012, received a call at 9pm. Called this number back and got a recording, Company is Issues and Answers, trying to conduct a survey. Said if you have issues or if they have bothered you to call their corporate office at 1-800-234-7783 and ask for their public relations liaison. Presumably you can have your number removed from their list. I will try it tomorrow and see.
Tired of them calling after I ask to be removed. So... took the bogus survey, listened to the spiel, gave a fake name and CC#. The guy told me not to give them phony CC numbers and waste their time. Imagine that!
Called this morning...registered on the Do Not Call Registry...worthless!
Like Stephen, my wife's cell phone (Verizon) got a call from this number. She did not recognize number so she didn't answer. No message was left.
Got this on my wife's cell phone. All our phones are registered on the national do-not-call list (worthless). Calls are automated (illegal). The FCC needs something to do, why don't they stop this?
just hangs up
Called at 8:04 pm and hung up when the voice mail picked up. Caller ID said Norfolk, VA. We don't know anyone from there.
Sounds like something the f'___ing DNC would do.
They're wasting my time.
Issues and Answers was hired by Allstate Insurance to do Quality Control surveys for their adjusters. They called to ask how the service was following a recent claim that I filed. It was a legit call that I was expecting, although I didn't expect the outfit to be called Issues and Answers, so at first I thought it was bogus. After listening to them, they clearly had info from Allstate about me and my claim, and they only asked legit questions about how the adjuster performed his job. So, in some cases, at least, they are legit. There was a long pause at the beginning of the call, though, and I almost hung up.
this number called 7-25-2011
Called on Sunday afternoon. Just jumbled noise in the background on the answering machine. I live in virginia.
Called my KY cell phone while traveling in AZ. Doesn't match the Oregon Health Dept. pattern.
I do not answer calls that I do not know who the number is. Hence it is a lost cause for them because I laugh evertime they call. I've been tempted to return their call late at night (between 2am and 3am) to ask them what they wanted. The temptation is getting harder to resist.
Received call from this number, heard background noise, I said hello and the party hung up.
Then I sugggest that anybody that has access to this number. Share her number with us and we can bombard her with phone calls. Say are from the department of
Please do not call unless I ask you to delete me from your list
Called at 10 am but did not leave message.
Left no Message
Reported as a DNC list violation.
Hangs up as soon as answering maching comes on.
don`t want this # calling
I have a "Do Not Call" number. Why are you calling a blocked number?
Rec'd call 3/7/11 asked Q/I questions about allstate. I answered NO to about 5 questions caller hung up. Caller was a female who sounded like she had a cold, alot of background noise.
to conduct a survey
its a survey
Rang my cell phone. Call went to voice mail. They must have put the call on hold because there were three minutes of a hold beep. No message. My cell phone is not "published." Quite an annoyance.
Called 3 times last night-after 9 PM-two "messages" were just beeps the third had a mans voice who started speaking before the recorder started but he said he will be calling me back. Not if I can help it....
Called numerous times. Stated calling for oregon health dept. I called the Oregon health dept. They are doing a survey. Silly to have it from an out of state survey group. I told them so.
Recevied a call from this Norfolk, VA Number. By process of deduciton, we believe the call to be associated with Identity theft from a Chinese women who resides in the Norfolk area and along with her associates conducts identity thieft. Earlier she and her Chinese associates hacked into our email account, when we recovered the email, then she tried to elicit our password from the account using a recognizable email address that we could trace, also she created a false myspace page in China with our name. We have documentation on this. We were hoping the Norfolk police would do something about this harassing and nusiance calls. We tried to talk with Nationline who distributes the number, but they were unwilling to help.
I keep getting calls from this number and they won't stop.
I have gotten 10 calls from them in just a few days.
They call me several times a day too.
No message, sometimes it's a real person, but sometimes it's an automated call.
I get calls from this number several times a day. They never leave a message when I don't pick up. I'm really getting tired of them.
Got this call on a weekend to my cell phone, and like many others, am on the Do Not Call list. No message left. This is getting really annoying, I've got several calls like this, not necessarily from the same people, but when I look up the number, I'm always directed to these sites. I wonder who's been selling my cell number.
I receive a call from this phone number that just does beeps over and over for about 5 minutes on the message machine. This is about the 20 + time they have called. Nobody responds if you try to talk to them for me.
Received two calls from this number but did not answer. How do you get the number blocked??
I am getting sick and tired of getting many phone calls on my cell phone from 757-769-7127. My phone is registered with the do not call registry but somehow they are getting through anyhow. They never leave a message but call in the late evening. Annoying!!!
called everyday for the past 5 days, last wednesday they called four times. I screen all my calls, they never left a message which I think is very rude. I was beginning to think I had a stalker, and was getting a little spooked with the last couple of calls. I was concerned enough to start searching the internet for a reverse directory then just entered the phone # and searched and found this site. Next time they call I am going to pick it up and give them 'some answers" they may not want to hear lol!
I live in OR and am tempted to call and complain to this person mentioned by OREGON Resident:
Any questions or information call Renee Boyd (971)673-1145 Public Health Division Portland,OR.
Got 2 calls around 7 pm on my cell. No message left. Don't know anybody in VA. I blocked number thru Verizon spam filter.
caller identified himself as a health care survey for our state. after way too many questions, much of them ones no one should answer, the topic turned to tobacco. I think this so-called survey is a ruse for the tobacco industry to direct their marketing
about a dozen calls in the last 3 weeks. i'm ignoring, but am getting pretty tired of this..............
Answered the phone. No one on line, a couple of clicks and then hung up.
I'm annoyed becauseI keep getting calls from this number and I'm on the Do Not Call list like others have posted here. If what people say is true that it's a survey then that's the issue because they may be exempt from the do not call list. I this listed on www.donotcall.gov
"Exempt Organizations include charities or certain non-profit organizations, organizations engaged in political solicitations or surveys, or Sellers or Telemarketers that call ONLY consumers with whom they have an established business relationship or from whom they have obtained the express written agreement to call."
So apparently do not call list is only for telemarketers that want to sell you something and if you do not already have a relationship with them (e.g. you bought something from them before or you agreed to let them contact you ... watch what you sign online or on paper).
Probably some political BS
Called and was extremely rude when I told them I don't want to participate in anything they had to offer. They kept me on the phone for quite some time.
Answered the phone. No one on line, a couple of clicks and then hung up.
This # called our home 2X within a 10-15 minute timeframe. Left no message. I did not pick up. We are on the do not call list and do not have any friends or relatives in VA.
Issues & Answers Marketing Survey. Got answering maching
I received 2 calls from this number (757-769-7127) One at 6:52 PM and one at 7:19 PM. First one was unanswered so answering machine would pick up, but unknown caller left no message. On 2nd call, wife answered after 2 rings, but after saying hello, no one answered or said anything. I am on every no call/no mail known but still continue receiving these calls from various people/organizations. Believe this one to be a telemarketer or someone conducting a survey, which I don't do. If I receive one more from this number, it will be reported to the state attorney general's office for appropriate action.
Called my cellular, I didn't answer, and s/he didn't leave a message.
some sort of market research firm. They called after 9pm. I told them as much, and that I didn't appreciate it. She apologized, and I hung up.
Issues and Answers, consumer survey's.
Called my home phone, was doing a survey on # of visits to downtown Norfolk VA. it was not apparent that it was a telemarketer, so i answered the phone. The person doing the survey was incredibly polite.
Called my cell phone every within every 48 hours, never leave the message. I called back the number and machine answering saying that they are with Global Market Research Network doing survey and to call 800-234-7783. I think everyone should be avoid with this numbers and contact FCC for more information.
Called my cell 3 times within 10 min. No msg left
Issues & Answers Network, a Global company attempting to contact "you", is the outgoing announcement.
I answered but didn't say anything. After about 5 seconds they hung up.
Called twice but never left a message
I've received multiple calls on my cell from this number. Never leaves a message! I won't answer because I don't know who it is!
This number called our house and said she worked the Oregon Department of Health and...I don't remember the rest. She asked how many adults lived in the house. She wanted to interview my husband who said he was not interested. She wished me a good evening and hung up. I wondered what a person in the 757 area code was doing representing themselves as working for the State of Oregon.
Has called repeatedly and has not left a message
Have called my work cell phone 4 times in 48 hours. No voicemail. Really annoying!
Called my cell around 6pm. Did not leave a voice mail. Called back and the message said it was an Issues & Answers survey, they left a # to call back if you have questions 1-800-234-7783.
called my CELL and left no message
He said he was calling to do a traffic survey, asked my age, where I lived and my cell phone number. he wanted to continue the call on my cell phone. i said no-if its a traffic survey why does he need my cell phone number?
Issues and answers called me at 8 pm on 7/14/10. Whats more amazing is that they were calling from Virginia a 3 hr time difference. Who carries out marketing research at 8 pm or 11 pm?
Have received calls from this caller for three years. Have blocked 8 of the numbers they use but they keep changing numbers. They always call saying they are looking for an Earl *****. Originally they were looking to collect on a lawsuit against this person, and proving to them that I am not this person seems to make no difference to them. Had my phone company contact them but they will not stop calling. Now they are calling themselves Issue and Answers doing a CDC survey. How many times to you have to say "no" before they get the message. They should have their phone service removed.
Just called me at 11:30 pm. Said it was something with Issues and Answers with Allstate. I said, it is awfully late to be calling, but if this number calls me again, I'm not going to be as nice next time!!!
Verizon Wireless has settled a lawsuit filed last month against Feature Films for Families, for illegally calling Verizon Wireless customers and employees to advertise the movie, 'The Velveteen Rabbit.' In addition to a permanent injunction preventing any future calls, the Utah-based telemarketer has agreed to a $25,000 cash settlement, which Verizon Wireless is donating to the National Domestic Violence Hotline (NDVH). The lawsuit alleged Feature Films for Families illegally used an autodialer to call Verizon Wireless customers about the movie. The lawsuit stated that over 10 days in early February, nearly 500,000 calls were made to Verizon Wireless customers and employees from the telephone number 917-210-4609.
No message left on my cell phone. Globel Research Networking, canned message, when I curiously answered.
I am on the No call List.
This number shows up on my phone between 9pm and 11pm and there is never a voice mail.
I received a missed call on my cell from this number. I don't answer phone calls from blocked or phone numbers I don't recognize but I am glad I decided to search above number on internet
I have been receiving calls from this number for a couple of weeks every other day. I never answer as a message is never left on my voicemail. I don't answer calls if I don't recognize the number. Finally, I decided to look at the area code (757) it was unfamiliar to me, and I have been receiving these calls on a steady basis.
called at 6:30 pm. i'm from new york i do not know. did not answer.
Called at 7:17 pm to my cell and left no message. I did not return the call.
they called me 2 time in 2 hours at 7 and 9pm. If they want to know about the health of people from Oregon, why the hell don't they call people from Oregon.
I had a 4 minute message on my voicemail of beep beep beep- just prior I had a block call hang up-not sure if related.

called 4-5 times in the past 2 days. Left no message
Have called and left no message 6 times in 10 minutes on both cell and home phone leaves no message and we have a Do Not Call Block on all our phones!!
I don't take calls from numbers I don't recognize. No i.d. cones up other than the number, and they never leave a message.
Called the number back (757-769-7127) and it said "Hello, you've reached Issues and Answers, a global marketing research firm". Recording goes on to say "if you received a call from us please be assured this is not a tele-marketing firm, nor an attempt to sell you anything. We are conducting a survey and want your opinion."
It's still unwelcome, in my book.
Issues and Answers Marketing firm: www.issans.com
Called the number back (757-769-7127) and it said "Hello, you've reached Issues and Answers, a global marketing research firm", I hung up after that.
Ditto to MsMary comments. Do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize. Caller did not leave a message. Thanks to commentors for taking time to leave information at this site
Asked them how they got my unlisted number and they hung up the phone.
Said they were conducting a survey on behalf of Oregon health. I went along with the survey but did not answer tho-thirds of the questions -- too invasive and identity-theft like. Next time I will not answer/block them.
Do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize. Caller did not leave a message. Thanks to commentors for taking time to leave information at this site.
didn't recognize number so let machine take it and they hung up no msg
Called 2 times this week, one hang up on answering machine and another when I answered the phone. I called Issues and Answers company and she said they were only calling farmers in Georgia and could not explain who would be calling me now.
They said they were the Center for Disease Control and was doing surveys for Health Practices in Oregon, asked if I lived here with someone, then said they could only speak to Him and if they could call back...I hung up.
Well...well...well...here we are six days after I reported this number to the complaint dept of the "do not call.gov" list, and lo and behold, here they are again calling me! I finally told her I had reported them to the complaint dept of the "do not call.gov" and to STOP calling me! They used the same line (i.e., calling about "health"). I will complain again to the "do not call.gov" place. Little good it does.
Called supposedly conducting a survey on "health." I said no thanks and hung up.
Did I plan to vote in the primary for the tenth congressional district in February 2010. I replied, yes. They would then like to survey me. I inquired how long this would take. I was advised ten minutes. I advised if it went over ten minutes I would hang up. She accomplished her questions in ten minutes. I live in the tenth congressional district in Illinois and she asked all questions that made sense for our area.
Yes, I received a call at 7:13pm and it was from Virginia as well. I called back it just kept beeping in pairs. beep beep........beep beep........... Similar to what you usually hear when your put on hold.
got 4 calls from this number within 3 hours today! WTF is with these jerks? I don't answer calls from Virginia. Hell, I don't even know anybody named Virginia.
I'm a privacy attorney researching all privacy issues related to the internet and telephone. I am interested in obtaining any information about the velveteen rabbit matter, as it relates to those that received a call ,but were on the no-call list.
feel free to contact me at ...email@example.com ...to discuss in confidence any issues.
If anyone wishes to discuss any unsolicited text message calls, please contact me on those matters too.

Viral marketing gone wrong? Verizon Wireless sued a Utah-based telemarketing company Wednesday after it allegedly used an auto-dialer to call Verizon customers and encourage them to see the upcoming movie The Velveteen Rabbit.
Verizon filed suit against Feature Films for Families in U.S. District Court in New Jersey for making calls on behalf of Los Angeles-based Family 1 Films.
According to the suit, Feature Films made about 500,000 calls in a 10-day period earlier this month to Verizon Wireless customers and employees from the phone number 917-210-4609. People who answered either heard an automated message or an individual encouraging them to see the movie.
Verizon claims the use of an auto-dialer violates the state fraud and privacy laws, as well as the Federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act, which bans the use of an auto-dialer to call wireless phones.
"Telemarketers continue to harass our customers and impinge on their privacy, often using illegal methods including auto-dialers," Steven E. Zipperstein, vice president and general counsel of Verizon Wireless, said in a statement. "Whatever their methods and whatever their product, these unlawful telemarketing calls are an annoyance to our customers and invade their privacy."
Verizon Wireless suspects the use of an auto-dialer since many of these calls came in rapid succession. Between 4 PM and 5 PM on Feb. 13, for example, the same number placed 11,000 calls, Verizon said.
Verizon is seeking a preliminary injunction to stop the defendants from making similar calls.
This call came in for me at around 8:50 pm. From a different number 231 732 2067. I didn't answer and then called it back, a guy name John picked up and said he needed 40 seconds of my time to ask me a few questions about a movie being produced. Then I didn't hear him anymore so I hung up!
I received at least three calls from this number. I listen to the first person for a few minutes then said I was not interested. They called back at least two more time & I did not answer the calls.
Contacted me on my emergency cell phone at 7:12 AM.
Since this phone only rings for emergencies, and it was relatively early in the AM, I was *very* angry to find out it was a telemarketing call.

Got a call from this number on 02/18/2009 9:27 a.m. Did not answer as I do not answer unknown callers on my cell.
have recieved 2 calls . one from this # and also from 2027477355....left no messages but looked up both # and found kidsfirst.org
decide to go to kidsfirst.org and found big company sponsers for this org. and emailed the companies to complain that kidsfirst were violating no call registers. wonder now if they'll care.
A pain in the butt!! Call my cell incessantly, but never say anything!
Called our daughter's cell phone - made her very nervous - we found this website and decided to call "John" ad nauseum - we called back repeatedly and left very specific verbage and instructions on how to "follow the white rabbit" - DO NOT say anything affirmative like "YES or OK".
Called my cell phone at 8:23 am est. Did not answer. Glad I did not after reading some of the messages. I'm on the do not call list too. Maybe they are selling our numbers.
Did not answer. They called my celphone. Now that I know it's a marketing firm, what are they doing calling my celphone? There's laws preventing the calling companies from calling celphones or the faxing stuff unsolicited.
stop calling me
i have had 2 missed calls from this number is is pissing me off i finally called back. what is this?
Called me at 5:30 am EST this morning. No message, but I used to live in New York City and used some job search engines. Probably got mine that way
Called today for the first time on my cell, no message - I'm sure there will be more calls - I'm chaning my number soon anyway. Thank Goodness.
Simple this guy is trying to record you saying YES to something, he will take your yes and transfer it to another issue and scam you. Please someone arrest him!
That last link should say: esupport.fcc.gov
Took me just a few minutes to file an FCC complaint against this number using an online form:
REGARDLESS of whether you're on the DNC or not, companies are not supposed to use autodialers that result in you being charged for the call (I got the call on my cellphone).
Turns out there are LOTS of reasons you can file a complaint against a telemarketer, even if you're not on the DNC registry... more info here: www.fcc.gov
Company selling films will pay $70,000 over No Call complaints in agreement obtained by Nixon
St. Louis, Mo. — Two companies that market and sell films will pay $70,000 to the state of Missouri and develop a detailed plan to ensure future compliance with the state's No Call law according to a settlement secured today by Attorney General Jay Nixon.
The assurance of voluntary compliance, filed today in St.Louis City Circuit Court, was the result of a lawsuit Nixon filed in March against Feature Films For Families Inc. of Murray, Utah, and the Dove Foundation of Grand Rapids, Mich., alleging the companies conspired in a scheme to evade state No Call laws. Telemarketers from the Dove Foundation claimed its status as a charitable organization provided them with an exemption to the Missouri No Call law. In reality, the Dove Foundation was using that status to solicit sales for Feature Films For Families, a for-profit organization that sells DVDs and videos. The Attorney General's No Call unit recovered almost 300 complaints about the calls.
“Companies such as these that look for new ways to circumvent our No Call law are another illustration of how effective our Missouri law is,” Nixon said. “We always have been, and will continue to be, vigilant in protecting Missouri's consumers from unwanted telemarketers and will swiftly take action when there is a violation of the law.”
According to the agreement, the Dove Foundation and Feature Films For Families must pay $70,000 to the state Merchandising Practices Revolving Fund and obey all merchandising practices and No Call laws in the future. The respondents must also provide the Attorney General's Office with a detailed plan of practices and procedures they will implement in their businesses to ensure compliance with the state No Call law. They have also agreed to subscribe to, and remain current with, the Missouri No Call database.
Any future violation of the agreement by the respondents could result in contempt of court proceedings and civil penalties of up to $2,000 per violation.
I got the call on my cell, I said I was spreading my anus on camera and was sort of busy.. they hung up
The guy ask for my wife and was a rude a$$hole when i said she wasnt home and hung up on me. I cant wait until he calls while im home. he has called everyday.
Recording outright lying and saying "this is not a solicitation call." Said it was a call about a movie being made by some New York company. Asked if I was interested. Understood "Nope!"
Called while I was IN SCHOOL.
Did not leave voicemail.
I got this call from John about this crap a few weeks ago but came from a totally different number. They called me again on this number but I didn't answer. Last time, it wouldn't stop calling until I answered it and listened to the recording. If you don't speak along when it asks you questions it hangs up and calls you back another time until you finish the call with it. Very annoying. My b/f also got the same call the same week when it was bugging me a few weeks ago.
got a call from john, stating this was not a sales call, I told him I was not interested and he said thank you and hung up.
They keep calling back, this is the 4th time I've heard this friggin message from John... I've got nothing. How can I get them to stop? I have filed a complaint with the fcc and the do not call registry. This is total crap.
They called again. I hate these people. And their stupid rabbit.
Called my cell phone. Told them I was driving. All he got out was "great new movie"
Called my cell and left no message.
Just got the same call today on my cell while I was at work. My mother got a call on her cell minutes before they called me? How can this be a coincidence? My number is so totally different from my mother's number. I would understand if they are randomly dialing numbers and the numbers are similar, but my number and my mother's number are very different. Makes me believe that this person is somehow hacking into telephone records and finding numbers that way. How else could whole families be getting called. I will check with my husband when he gets home from work and my daughter after school. I sent in a complaint to the do not call registry. I didn't give the dude much of a chance to talk. I first asked if this John was a person and he laughed saying did he sound that bad. Once I knew it was a person I screamed at him asking him how the hell he got my number. Oh we're just randomly dialing numbers he says. I tell him to lose mine and hang up on him. I absolutely HATE telemarketers!
I just got a call from this number and I never get these type of calls. The only thing I did different is I tried out cha cha last night and they now have my phone number. Do you think they sold my number?
No one there when I answered.
This from a computer with voice recognition.
The computer understands words like "a$$h@le" - if you keep saying that word over and over 'it' will apologize and hangup.
I just called 530-6601 and tried to report this. I was told that I had to simply tell them "take me off of your calling list". How many times must we do that? My husband was treated very badly last time they called. He hung up and they called right back asking for me and was very rude. They call and bug us nearly every day. I was once a fan of Family Feature Films. I am now getting a bad taste in my mouth for this company. That's so unfortunate.
Who do we complain to now?

Have told then several times my kids are teenagers now and not interested.
Didn't answer. No message was left.
This is from Feature Films for Families. They are a pest!

OK I got this call today. Didn't answer it. Read the comments on this page did a google check. It is a new movie coming out Feb 20, 2009 and it is put out by Feature Films for Family. They are the fanatical family movies movement people that can hound people mercilessly with phone calls attempting to sell their G movies. Their cause is good, but they tactics are horrible. I own several of their movies. But I hate being solicited on the phone. Luckily I am blessed with caller id and do not answer calls that I don't want to, or do not know who they are.But my curiosity gets the better of me, and I google the number to see who the heck is calling. I am also on the do not call list, which I personally think is a joke. It seems like I get more solicitations now being on the registry than before.
got the call too, i was nice and listened, and said ok to leaving a voicemail... i kinda wished i would have hunged up ( i was barely awake ) ... can this be any harm to me ??
They called me this morning at 8:15..why are they calling
Called my cell number that is listed on the government do not call list. When asked how they got the number, the response was something about calling all number combinations. Some BS advertising gimmick for a movie - go see the movie and get $$ off their DVD's. Wanted to leave me a "voice mail" with a "link". Whatever. Had to swear at the "voice" to get him/it to stop talking and demand never to be called again.
Called cell number. No message left.
No message left.
I missed this call and no message was left. I'm glad I didn't answer. I hate getting charges on my cell phone when telemarketers call.
Got 2 calls from this number. No message was left either time.
I got a call from this number at 8:45 AM today. I did not answer it because I was in class. I thought it might have been one of my friends from California, until I found this website.
Waking up at 6:21 am to a canned prerecording didn't make me a happy person. So, I immediately googled the number, found this site and filed a complaint with the fcc: esupport.fcc.gov This is total crap. You should file a complaint, too.
Unsolicited call to my cell phone. They need to stop, as I am on the "do not call list."
Ditto on all of the below. No message, didnt answer, and I am on the do not call list as well.
this is like the 4th time this number has called my cell phone, I googled it & got this site, why are they calling me? I don't even know what velveteen rabbit is, and don't care. I'm also on the do not call list. I don't answer if I don't know the number.
They called my boyfriend Sunday and Myself this morning...this is so weird
Got one, too. Ignored the call--no message left. I remember the ancient book but this is lame. Maybe if we threaten their mothers...
Apparently this came out in 2007. they are a bit slow.
called at 7;30 at night and i did not answer
THANK YOU FOR HAVING THIS WEB PAGE.
Having read previous posts, it's looks like this is a scam to get e-mail info while talking about some unknown movie.
Do not call me again!!!!
They called my mom's cell and asked for a few minutes of her time. She said "no" and hung up. Why are they calling her cell number???
2/17/2009, 6:39 CST, did not answer, no message was left. I am on the do not call registry as well.
unknown call did not answer, i am also on the do not call registry
917-210-4609 called my cell phone at 4:28pm central time. I did not recognize the number so I did not answer it. I looked the number up and I came up with this website. I thought I would document my call as well.
I received a call from John on 02/17/2009 at 1528. Something about the Velveteen Rabbit. I basically told him to f-off. My cell phone is on the Do Not Call registry. I filed a complaint with them and will file one with the FCC and whoever else I can complain to. How did they get my cell number? I don't give it out. Sounds like some kinda scam. However they got my number sounds like they or somebody else is doing something illegal.
My number is also on the national do not call registry. The caller was persistent. Boy, the economy is really going to hell when a dude is trying to get other dudes to see a movie about a stuffed animal.
Call from John at Velveteen Rabbit 917-210-4609.... My cell is on the do not call register...
I reveived the call 2/17/09 - 1:10pm and all the person said was - "this is John!" and I said "ok John, what can I do for you?" and that was the end of the call.
I also got a call from them on my personal cell phone. I am also registered on the government's do not call registry.
1-917-210-4609 called my Personal Cellular Number at 10.57 AM (Central Time Zone) on February/17/2009 I did not recognize the number and did not answer. Number said to be fron New York City, NY.
My number is listed with the U.S.Government's "Do Not Call Registry". I have no idea how they received my number and they left No Message
Thank you for this service. My phone is a business Cell.
Call their customer service at 800-326-4598 and let them know what you think of their b.s. I just called and got a rep who seemed clueless about why I was calling; enough of us light up their phone boards, they will get the msg quickly enough.
My call was basically the same as "Jeff Doc"...When I answered a gentleman informed me that it was NOT a sales call and it was to talk about a new movie coming out called "The Velveteen Rabbit". He asked for 40 seconds of my time. I told him he already used 10. He told me of the new movie coming out that is for family and adults alike and that, instead of spending tons of money advertising, they are making calls asking people to go on opening weekend to keep the movie in theaters longer. They said that if I go and don't like it, I'll get a $20 credit from the movie producers towards a DVD purchase of any of their other movies. Then he went on about calling back, the phone won't ring, but he'll leave a message. I tried to be ncie (in case it was a realy person) and said I didn't want any calls and he kept talking over me. Then I just hung up on him.
1-917-210-4609 called my Personal Cellular Number at 8:57PM (Central Time Zone) on February/16/2009 I did not recognize the number and did not answer.
My numbers are listed with the U.S.Governments "Do Not Call Registry". I have no idea how they received my number and they left No Message
The caller - John - said he was calling for the new release of the velveteen Rabbit.
He wanted my e-mail address to send me a movie trailer.
I am not sure if this is a scam or not.
some random guy called both our cell phone lines on Feb. 11 at pacific time of 8:13 pm and 13 2:10 pm 2009 saying "this is not a sales call" so we both hung up on him. How do these people get our cell numbers. We are on the no call list. I also got a text saying something about a "John" too. How do these people get our cell phone numbers? It is so annoying. The Government should do something about this, it's wasting our minutes.
You can file a complaint with FTC, the only way to stop this calling of Cell phones is for everyone to complain. This site is being watched by those calling. Check time of eric's reply to levy.
call this number to get removed - 1.800.familytv
A lot of these posts are by Kids First and Family TV who are behind the calls. Check out. www.kidsfirstcares.org and www.kidsfirst.org.
They must be ashamed because one doesn't link to the other. There are hunderds of complaints on the internet against these people.
If you know for certain this is from Kids First, If you go to their web site you can find a list of their sponsors, they are mostly national companies. Take down the list search the web for contact information and write these organizations asking that they stop sponsoring Kids First. You can also get copies of their board of directors , most can easily be found with email address on the web. Write the directors, most don't know this is happening. Also direct questions to news media in the city in New Mexico that Kids First is located. If they get a lot of emails, they may investigate also. Don't count on FTC.You need to be proactive and protect your cell numbers.
I was called 2-13-2009 at 8:07pm PST
It was a real person, not a recording. He was fairly polite, but when I was trying to explain that I do not want to receive any more calls or voicemails he hung up on me.
I am now making it my mission in life to utterly destroy this movie!!!
Well, maybe not but I am going to tell people not to see it.
I wonder if this is just a test to see how people will react to this kind of marketing.
This number called my cell at 12:03 pm on Feb. 14. I was unable to answer when it rang. No message was left, but I tried to call back. I keep gettting a busy signal when I call back.
I just got a call from this number. It came up on my caller ID as "Velveteen". When I answered a gentleman informed me that it was NOT a sales call and it was to talk about a new movie coming out called "The Velveteen Rabbit". He asked for 40 seconds of my time so I agreed. He told me of the new movie coming out that is for family and adults alike and that, instead of spending tons of money advertising, they are making calls asking people to go on opening weekend to keep the movie in theaters longer. They said that if I go, I'll get a $20 credit from the movie producers towards a DVD purchase of any of their other movies. I did not have to give my name or any info. They also said that they would leave a non-ringing message on my phone the day before the movie premiers (Feb 20th) to remind me to attend if possible. He was very nice and was not pushy at all...just simply gave me the info. He was very polite and never asked me for any personal info or to actually buy anything...only to attend the movie if I am able to.
It was an annoyance to get a marketing type call like this...especially when my number is registered on the National Do-Not-Call list...but I don't mind if it's VERY infrequent and non-sales related and short like this one was.
Received this call about two hours ago on my personal cell. I told "John" no thanks when asked to do the survey, then proceded to ask to take my number off the list, but phone call had already ended. My husband just received the same call and same response. I called the number back, immediately asked to speak to a real person, talked to a girl, I couldn't understand her name. Asked her to remove my number & my husbands number. I told her I was going to report her to the FCC & my state, she said they were non-profit, so they couldn't get in trouble. I asked how they got our numbers, she said they randomly call phone numbers.
Caller introduced himself as "John" and asked for 40 seconds of my time to ask three questions about an upcoming movie, I replied by saying "I'm at work" - he was quiet for a few seconds then asked if he could call back, I said "No thanks." I think he rambled on but I hung up anyway.
Immediately ask to speak to a "real person"! You'll get someone. Remove yourself. Horrible. I was rude to the "actual girl" I got through to. But any marketing call done after 8 is absurd.
Computer calling every cell number. Advertising a childrens' movie. If you ask the recording questions you get transferred to a real person to complain. File complaints with the FCC and your state. These people have made themselves famous for their illegal marketing activity. Not a good example for your children.
Everyone in my office got this call on our personal alltel cells. This was a live person. No recording. Alltel advised they do not give out cell numbers to anyone...
this was a recording. guy named john. asked if he coul ask me 3 quick questions.. i said no and he to me of the lt supposedly... i missed the call the first time around 6pm est. then called them back. good luck everyone....
There is no 'upcoming movie'. The last remake and release for the title they are telling you is 2007 and it was 2 different versions. IMDB is your friend.
I got this call a few minutes after I had called Radio Shack.. I have never been called by spammers, or whatever they are untill I called Radio Shack.. anyone else have this situation... I called Radio Shack and asked if they had sold my number, and they laughed and said no.. but it wasn't but 1 minute after I hung up with them that I started getting this number and some text messages from people I didn't know...
No name; they hung up when I answered.
This should be illegal...and the number should be reported I just got called at 3:30p no message was left.
Got the call on my cell at around 1:40 pm on 2/12/09. JERK!! How did he get my number?
Called the number back on 2/13/09 and he went through the same junk about an upcoming movie. Said he was with a group called Kids First, I think it's B.S#I7.
So they just called my phone, I'm at school so I didnt pick up but they didnt leave me a messege.
This number called me on 2-11-09 at 4:26pm.
what we need to do is call back, then call back again, then call back again & again & again. if a viral call back campaign takes off, this guys phone will be tied up, not to mention u cant' make outgoing calls when your incoming lines are bogged down. with call block and free LD, make as many as you can, give these people a TASTE OF THEIR OWN MEDICINE!!! get calling...it makes you feel good as well, put it on mute and have some fun!!!
This makes no sense at all, the mofo calls me at 9:43am and I'm like 'huh...Ok.' and he repeats what he says and I say 'Ok.' once more and stay silent. I hung up afterwards. If I get any telemarketing calls on my cellphone I'm going to be pissed, I have no idea how they got the number. It's a prepaid cell phone for crying out loud! I've only given the number to like six fucking people. The last thing I need is for telemarketing calls to come in on my cell phone.
This tool called my cell 9:44 am. ignored the call. glad I did. Who the Hell is selling my phone number?
Called my personal cell at 8:11 am. I did not answer. This is the second solicitation call I have gotten on my personal cell in two days! What the hell?
Got a call at 9:30pm.
I just got a call from this number. The guy on the other end said it wasn't a sales call, and he wanted to tell me some crap about the Velveteen Rabbit coming out. Wanted to send me free movies; I declined. Pushy in that he was talking extremely rapidly (sounded like a recording, though I'm not convinced it was). I don't know how this dude got my cell number, but it annoyed the hell out of me. He said he wanted to text me info about the movie and offered to email it, as well. I told him no to both. When I told him I didn't want the free movies, he hung up, which pissed me off even more.
Come my children. Do not be afraid.
called me: didnt answer. called him back and got a automated voice talking back to me. freaks me out.
Automated call that said they wanted to get my opinion of a new movie. Asked if that was "OK" with me then dead air. IF YOU SAY "OK" you have consented to a telemarketing list and it will spread. Never mind that they call your cell phone OR that you have blocked such calls from it ... you open the door just by saying, "OK".
It was probably a scam, and you're all going to die.
Received calls on both my personal cell phone and on my Onstar provided phone number for my new car. Screamed DO NOT CALL when I received the second call. The voice broke up and then said something along the lines of "okay, I have registered your response."
Call came in at 7:49 pacific time. No message left.
Call came in at 7:45PM PST and hung up when I answered. Not sure how they got my cell number and I'm not calling them back.
This caller was a peddler for Barabas Hussein Osama aka the burr head baramus.
The caller was obviously a homosexual who wanted to solicit.
Seemed like a recorded call about the Velveteen Rabbit
Said he was calling all combinations of numbers in the area where the movie was being released when I asked how he got my number. I don't need solisitation on my cell phone. Or any other time for that matter.
Didn't bother answering. Any clues as to how he gets our numbers?
Called and hung up, not sure who this person is.
Got call on my cell phone @ 3:44pm. I just got my cell line a week ago. Really frustrating to get advertizements on my cell phone.
Call came in a 5pm. Hung up on me when I started asking him how he got my number. Called him back, and he picks up. Told him he had been reported. EVERYONE, get on www.donotcall.gov (National Do Not Call Registry) and report this S.O.B. If that cute little movie actually comes out, I'll advocate to everyone I know not to see it.
call came in at 1:50pm
This call came in at 8:30 am on my cell phone. I work early morning hours and my phone needs to be turned on for work purposes at all times .. this was in the middle of my "sleep-time". GRR!
Same here. I have a question do any of you enter contests such as ExtraTV? I have to wonder if they got my number from that. The man asked if he could text me or email me.
This is an automated voice system with a voice recognition to "answer" you. Totally canned, but a way to get info from you or you interested in the Velveteen Rabbit movie.... The "John" is a john doe computer program... Sneaky huh?
I also got a call on my personal cell phone. I wasn't too happy about this but I listen to what was said. I am always interested in free stuff and even more when it is for my kids.
Called my personal cell phone number. Rapid speaking from a script - John wanted to tell me about a "free offer" from the producers of an upcoming new movie. I declined and asked to be removed from their list. I don't think my teenagers would be interested in the Velveteen Rabbit.
Was contacted by "John" in regards to new Velveteen Rabbit film being released in theaters next month. Wanted to email or text me message to remind me when film was released. Also mentioned "producer's offer" where if I didn't enjoy the film, I would be given any DVD from their library. I checked IMDB on the film and saw a 2007 film being released in the US next month; Also contacted one of the 'production companies' listed on IMDB who acknowledged calls were being made.
Opt out on website actually signs you up for movies. I contacted them to request not to get anything and remove my number- we'll see how/if it works. I also called back to remove my number- all I got was another pre-recorded rude dude John on the end.
This call was apparently not "for sales purposes," but to ask me questions for 30 seconds of my time about an "important upcoming movie!" Needless to say, I was not interested, and the man on the other line said he would write that down for his records. I have received a call from this number twice, the first time I did not answer.
Another call from the "Velveteen Rabbit" producers. Kids First.
I called the number back. Recorded message for survey on Issues & Answers. They did give a corporate number to call their Public Relations Dept 800-234-7783.
I didn't recognize this number, so I didn't pick it up but there is no way it should say Out of Area with a 757 area code since I live in Virginia Beach.
I called the number- a message said it was "Issue and Answers Network" a "global research firm". They gave their corporate number as 1-800-234-7783 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. EST.
She called at 9:16PM and asked if I had time to answer a few questions. I asked if she was aware that it is after 9pm here (she was not) so I informed her that she's not allowed to call this late. I asked her to place me on their do-not-call list (she seemed surprised) and she agreed.
This person calls all the time 323-404-8579, right after the number above does.
Per instructions by our state department of consumer affairs (TX) and Office of Atty general, a letter is to be sent to this 'fine' organization, faxed as well (thanks for the fax #), that will require that this company by law, discontinue an further efforts to collect a debt from this phone number . You have to request it specifically in writing. Your state has similar legislation, and the capital of your state has an office of consumer affairs that can direct you specifically regarding the company's responsibility after receiving the letter
JUST so u all know, I use to work for NAFS of CANADA... and all your comments on the bottom are very funny.. ITS not a scam, You probably owe the money, so get over and pay your bill.... LMFAO@YOU... AND the DO not Call List, doesnt apply when you owe a debt my friends from the USA.. You should all learn your FDCPA laws, before you come on a site and bash a comp. you know nuthing about.. THANKS AGAIN
Pay your bills. or dont, cause it gives us Canadians JOBS... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
THEY ARE LOCATED AT 335 ONTARIO ST IN ST CATHERINES
THE SITE DIRECTOR IS SIF ALI
THE OPERATION MANAGER IS IAN MAXWELL
THE TEAM MANAGERS ARE TREVOR LEGAULT, KYLE PELLEGRINI AND ELIZABETH RUTHERFORD
SO WHEN YOU CALL ASK TO SPEAK WITH THEM IF IT IS A WRONG NUMBER AND THREATEN LEGAL ACTION, ALSO BEFORE ANYONE MAKES ANY PAYMENTS MAKE THEM PRODUCE PROOF OF DEBT (FDCPA) ALSO TRY TO TRICK THE REPS INTO DISCLOSING INFORMATION AND THE SUE THEM
HERE ARE SOME PHONE NUMBERS TO HARRASS THEM AT
I have been receiving calls from this number for several weeks now. Don't know why, but I believe it's a debt collector.
No one responds when I call back.
Yes they called me and wanted someone whom i didn't knwo and if you just verify your name and your phone # they will search it and remove it,but they can'y do that if you don't speak to them or pick up the phone, the girl on the phone was very nice about it and it is there job as a collector so you can't blame them as most #'s are recycled and collection agengies ussually get act's that are over two yrs old. so coopperate and they will!
Recorded message says "This call will not go away" and has harassed for over a year now.
Received a call from NAFS of Canada. Could not give me any information as to why they were calling my husband who has dementia and has not contracted with anyone for any services in 20 years. They would not release info to me (spouse) about why they were calling. I faxed them at 905-346-4216 to never contact us by phone again...and may contact us in writing. "Sharon" said they have done that, yet I have never received anything from NAFS of Canada by mail.
This number calls 4 or 5 times a day.DNC list doesn't help. You call back to explain to them DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN and it gives you some bogus not in service recording.
Many calls from this number. I called back. talked to a live person. Very rude. they want to find someone named "rose". Asked them to take my number of their list. Hope it will work.
Almost every day at 8:40am I get the voice mail about this company about trying to collect a debt.
I've received a call from a so called collection agency treating to keep calling me everyday until I pay an outstanding 3 year old Sprint Telephone bill. I called Sprint and they had not outstanding bills with them. The so called collection agency said they would clear the matter if a signed up for a program with them that's when all the scam red flags poped up. Do not give them any information!
These people call me regularly leaving messages for a Robert Lyons. One time a reached a live person and told them they had wrong number, but they still call. Very annoying, I just don't return their calls.
While investigating a complaint our agency contacted NAFS in an attempted to contact a supervisor. After refusing to allow the investigating officer to talk with a supervisor he told them he would see if he could get locale law enforcement to come talk to him about our complaint. The man on the phone immediately became VERY defensive asking, “Is that a threat”. Good luck to those who have to deal with these people.
They say they are a debt collector and that I have not returned their previous calls. They say call 866.840.1377 to settle the debt. I don't owe anybody anything and I will not call them back.
caller very rude, would not give out any info - not even who they are or what NAFS stands for. Ends up they're a collection agency harrassing my husband. I'm also reporting this to the BBB in my area. Caller continued to ask my husband for his info, indicated he owes someone $19,000 for delinquent auto loan
They were calling me at work and i noticed a posting from a guy kevin on this website from another debt collector redline recovery and the guy said to go to www.adviceontime.com to get info. I was shocked because that website does have a lot of good info and its free, they dont even require you to register or anything. i tried one of the letters and they havent called me! I hopes it works for you guys too. They also had awesome advice on buying a car!
I am on the DNC and have had this message on my answering machine more than a few times, decided to call the # and they wanted to know if another persons name had this telephone# and that was it , they had said that this was a message about a debt that had not been paid. What a scam!!
Called once or twice a week for the last month, please call important message... said they were a Debt Collection Company...
This is the first call from this nimber to collect from a 'Lori'. They told me they would call until a cease and desist letter was sent. These calls started from others two years ago, due i believe, to a skip trace done for a repurchased debt (debt that is not enforceable due to a bankruptcy or other protective proceedings).
said were debt collectors
they are Nafs of Canada...they are debt collection...look up your own phone number on 411.com, if it comes up as listed to you...then tell them to look it up...I cooperated with them and they said that my number was given to them by the person they were looking for..but i used to be in debt collection and know that they have "implicit authority" to call if they have reason to believe that the number is a good contact #... if you want the calls to stop, take a minute, cooperate with them let see that you are telling the truth by searching 411.com/ they will most likely remove the number....they did for me...
Got a second call from them. Called back, they asked for my name, which I didn't give... they rude me told me.. Look I am trying to help you!.. I refused and then they said, well, in that case you will have to wait until someone calls you back... and Hung up.. Is there any way to stop such calls?
I called this company after recieving multiple calls from them a day, which is illegal. I asked to be taken of their list and the lady said she would try. They called again and i asked to speak to a supervisor. The man said no and that their supervisor would not care if I was upset and hung up on me
My 71 yo mother has been receiving calls from this number for months. I did some research and actually called the number and its for a company called NAFS Canada. Some financial organization. They had her name wrong and it was a male name who never, ever lived in that house. Hopefully the did remove her name from their call list. Since it is a Canadian 800# it does not go under the American Do Not Call list.
We have been getting these calls for about three months, one every couple of weeks. We would never return such a call, and are grateful to this site for now knowing more.
I got one of these tonight on my cell phone also. The person gave a number and I heard something about NSF something and Canada. I don't know how they could expect someone to call them back with that message.
many calls from them - called back, said they are a debt collector, said my number was listed as a reference for "sheila". Told them to quit calling.
They are called Nas(something) Canada, they are a debt collection agency.
They have called me from two different numbers.
1-866-840-1377 and also
I keep telling them they have the wrong number, but they still call. I have the same last name of the person they are looking for, but its not me. Its getting really annoying, how did they get my Cell phone #???
Many calls but just a recording and stating they are calling about a debt.I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST but it makes no difference.
These people are so rude. They asked for someone I didn't know and I told them wrong number then he started questioning me wether I was lying and it was at 8 in the morning. I asked to speak with a supervisor and the rep asked why then hung up. I calledback to speak with sup and the sup hung up on me because I was yelling at him. This company needs to go!
They are NAFS of Canada.
I called them once and asked who they were but after I hung up I realized that I did not know how to spell it.
So I called back, no answer.
I called back again and asked for the spelling.
A Google search reveals that they are a debt collection agency.
Likely if you don't owe money, the person that does owe money listed your number or you got a new number that had been used by the person that owes the money.
I keep getting these calls but they gave their number first thing and never identified who they were beyond saying they were a Debt Collection Company from Canada. I don't carry any debts that I know of and they are never there to answer any questions.
It just seems a bit fishy to me. Is there anything one can do to get them to stop calling, I am on the national do not call list, but since they identify themselves as coming from Canada I wonder if it applies.
They called me at work, with an automated message saying something like this is not a sales solicitation and to please hold on to speak to someone but it just hung up, weird. I don't have any debts i hope they aren't thinking of getting any money from me.
They Keep calling :( filing a complaint with the Feds.
Have received at least 8 of these calls in the past few weeks. Just a recording, never a live person, saying we must call 866-840-1377 and that they are a debt collector from Canada. I've called them twice and spoken with a person - both times they said they were trying to reach "Mauritius" or something like that. I was insistent that they stop calling or I would report them to the appropriate State Agency, but the calls have continued. We don't have caller ID.
They called my cell at least 3 times now. Something needs to be done.
Caller ID says toll free call Message says debt collector. Don't believe I owe anyone. I am on do not call list
How can this be stopped? Incessant calling, although I am on DNC list and have a private unlisted number. Is there a law enforcement agency who can help? I am so sick of this, I cannot think of anyway to stop it except get rid of my phone.
Think it might be worth it.
As "the Jester" says, call comes in also from 770-248-3088, and a St. Catharin, Ont number - all connected to same harrassers. AtlantaNOR call
also connected to this bunch.
call comes in from 770-248-3088 in Atlanta GA, and the message says blah blah from Canada and is an attempt to collect a debt,,, call 866-840-1377... I cant imagine who this ...I think it;s a scam and I am not callin these fucks
wack this jerk, if not give me an address and i will have someone take care of IT.
Many calls from this outfit. I have tried returning the call several times, but I have never reached a live person. Voice mail says something like, "You have reached Nastus Canada".
Recorded message about a business opportunity. Blather began while outgoing message was playing; so the first part of the recording wasn't captured by my machine.
