The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want

skiptel calls from 11 phone numbers:
This was a TimeWarner promotional call. These idiots blew up my phone on my off day ... called about 10 times and never left message on voicemail since I didn't answer the first 9 times they called. When I finally answered, took the marketer a couple seconds to speak as I was just about to hang up. He didn't speak very good English and instead of asking if I had a few minutes, he goes right into his sales pitch. I interrupted him after about 2 mins and let him know I was not interested in any upgrade packages with TimeWarner and that as a matter of fact, I was about to switch over to Verizon FIOS since TimeWarner cable is the worst cable company I've ever had (box constantly reboots itself and they push updates at the most inconvenient times like mid-day and when an update is pushed it reboots the cable box and that takes another 10-15 mins for cable to come back on). Never had that issue with Comcast in Michigan prior to moving to Texas.
Time Warner Cable promotional call.
First time said " private caller " second time said " skiptel " what kind of crap are these people trying to pull ?? Called again on 1/12/2013 @ 11:08 am.
Do not know anyone in San Antonio......called 1/8/2013 @ 2:55 pm.
Autodialer Call. Message about "Clearing up back taxes"
cruise scam disguised as a political survey
These people will NEVER stop, they simply change phone numbers every 2 weeks. Here's what several Attorney Generals told me:
1) The scam starts in Hong Kong. Some one buys 250,000 phone numbers from various phone companies.
2) They start re-selling the numbers in blocks of 100, or 300, or 500 to Credit Scammers in the U.S.
3) The scammers call you and 2 weeks later they drop that number and go to the next one.
4) If the AG tries to find out the number, Verizon WILL NOT tell them who owns it. Period. Verizon DOES NOT CARE if they constantly call you, they made a ton of money selling the 250,000 numbers.
5) If you want the number to stop, you have to pay Verizon MORE money by buying Number Blocking Packages. THese only work until the scammers move to the next number that they bought.
6) The Do Not Call Registry is a joke. It DOES NOT work, It's simply a way for people to vent.
7) If you want to stop the scammers, you have to CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN EVERY TIME YOU GET A CALL. Call them twice a day. Congresman always having someone answering the phone. Tell them you are fed up and you have become a ONE ISSUE VOTER. And tell them Timbo sent you :) THey know me, I call them constantly. Is it working? Not yet. :)
Update your free Google 411 listing scam
First call from this number and first time CNAM appeared on Caller ID. Did not answer it. Must have been CC scammers calling.
Called my cell phone, did not recognize the number, did not answer the call. Called on 4/24/12 at 4:43 pm.
Nothing has happened to the federal DNC registry. Something did happen to the reading comprehension skill you were supposed to acquire in school. Linked below are the rules which the DNC site *twice* coaxed you to read and which *you agreed to* when you registered.
See items 28 and 38 in particular.
Criminals calling through spoofed numbers and giving false identities do not care about your registration, and you cannot expect regulators to swoop down on zip lines to help you every time your phone rings. You must do your part and report violative calls to the FTC and attorneys general.
What happened to "NO CALL LIST"?
This company calls using an automated dialer and a recorded message with no operator on the line, which is in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. The recording claims to be either removing your business from Google's listings, or adding your site to Google's listings. Pressing "1" for an operator got the call disconnected.
The recording stated that they were the US Government DO NOT CALL LIST. Told me to input my my info to block future calls!!!!! BAD GUYS
Robo Caller using Google's name.
It was a hangup call.
Answered this recorded call. It was about IRS past tax due and Obama!
Must be a robo caller... name showed up as Skip Tel.
5034571062 on caller ID, some google list spammer
Cruise scam disguised as a poll. They want your credit card number. State Attorney Generals can't find their address and stop them.

Answered & no response. Automated call violating Do Not Call List.
Wasn't home. They left no messege.
Just sent an SMS saying "Stop calling this number (my cell phone #). This is a formal request to put this number on your "Do Not Call" list." Got an Error Invalid Number error message returned from a number that begins 1121611611. The error message also said "Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code." So it looks like they're using the 206 496 0492 number as a shield or something.
Rang my cell phone at 7:05 pm PDT. I didn't pick up. No message left. I will SMS and tell them to put me on "Do Not Call."
Called while I was in a meeting and my phone was on mute. Called at 8:16 p.m. and then again at 8:39. No message left either time.
Called my cell. I didn't answer. No voicemail left.
These jackals called my pre-paid cellular that includes NO free minutes.
In Kansas you can file an OFFICIAL complaint against violators of the DO NOT CALL registry at
These scamming jerks are supposedly offering a cruise for answering their survey.
These jerks have an actual web site - their opening blurb reads:
did not answer, left no vm.
Politial Survey Crap - Not interested!!!!
Got a call from this number on my work cell phone, a private number. I didn't recognize the number (showed up as "Seattle, WA") so didn't answer. They didn't leave a message.
Called from this number, did not answer, left no message.
called from this number, no VM.
I got a call from 206-496-0492, I did not recognize the # so I did not pick up and they left no msg.
actual caller is caribbean cruise lines 800-221-8200 using a scam "survey" to try to bypass do not call laws
I've received several robocalls from this #. What is sinister: the # shows on my phone; but when I look at my cell carrier's online record of call activity, the call shows as if I phoned myself. How do they manage to manipulate their call as if I called myself?!
I was called by this number also. No VM left for me. I do have family in Seattle but knew it was not their #. How can they get cell numbers?
called left no message
rec'd call at 9:27am, unknown caller from Seattle, WA. I let go to VM. Did not leave VM. (must not have been that important)
Take a political survey, win a cruise. Yep, politics, surveying and contest scamming in one call! From a Seattle Washington number. On many sites, people are reporting that they have gotten (in one day) calls on their home and business and cell numbers and numbers on business cards, making them wonder how the caller got them all and hit them all in one day.
Got a call from this number about an hour ago. Didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. Someone should shut these bums down.
I do not answer calls from unknown numbers in states where I know of no one; in particular, the states of Oregon and Washington where most political and telemarketing spam calls have been coming from for the last year or so. This one is in Washington. I am registered with www.donotcall.gov, yet the spammers are getting through anyway. I do not intend to waste my cell phone minutes with this nonsense.
I didn't answer this call, because I didn't know who it was. They didn't leave a voicemail, but I called this number back to see if I can find out who it is and all I got was a busy signal...
Left no message
Called at 9:45AM Pacific Time. No VM left.
Political Survey & Bahama's trip (you pay only the tax and port fees!!)
Most important: Shrink size of Government.
Rate Obama: Rank Amatuer.
(206) 496-0492 - a political survey call.
Call on cell phone. Cell number is "new" for my computer consulting business, not given out by me, only used for making service phone calls while at client sites. Did not recognize the number so did not answer. Must be a call from an old dial list, or a "war dialer" for some sort of junk call.
Cellar ph rang-did not recognize number to let go a VM,but VM didn't left.
Cell phone. Some political survey
Cell phone rang - didn't recognize number to let go to VM. No VM left.
Called Cell, no message. Similar at home phone have been political surveys
Called my cell phone, left no message.
some survey stuff, i hope its not any marketing or spam.
called at 6:30AM!
This seems to be some kind of survey company
Reported as a DNCL violation
Spam call from "John" of Political Opinions of America professing chance to win a two-day cruise for a 30-second survey. These creeps keep changing area codes and/or phone numbers.
NANPA: Assigned 2009-06-03 Woodburn, Oregon (Astound Broadband, LLC - OR)
Also, I got a hangup from 503-902-8103 when I answered my cell phone. Grrrr.
Called on 4/9/12 7:48pm called as " Skip Tel " ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
A robocall from "John" to answer a survey, after which you'd win a 2-day trip to the Bahamas. Sounds like a scam.
Called my cell. Didn't leave voicemail.
Called my Cell Phone as well.
Called my cell! Ugh
206-496-0460 Recorded call. Under the guise of a fake political opinion survey, offered a free cruise prize if I paid processing fees by credit card. Obvious scam to me, but I know others are falling for it. Have asked them to stop calling before, but the calls have continued.
Phone only rang 4 times, didn't get there in time to answer it.
THey call to lower my credit card intereswt rate. We do not have credit cards. They have no need to call. Harrassment!
These scumbags replicate numbers faster than anyone I know - same ol', same 'ol. Offer to "lower my credit card interest". Pressed "1", when got live person, told them I owned no credit cards and to take my name off their list. Don't know if that will happen, she hung up rather quickly.
"This is your last chance to lower your credit card rate..."
I wish they meant that. I've been getting calls like this for 2+ years. If it weren't for this scam, the "free home security system" scam and the "take a short survey/get a free cruise" scam, my land line would never ring.
This was the same old credit card company, but I wasn't home so they filled up my answering machine with the same old message. When they were finished with the message they repeated it until my ans.mach would hold no more info. Three and a half messages and my machine was full.
....and they called again. Unlike the previous post the recording identified the caller as Rachel from Cardholder Services. As usual she stated there was nothing wrong with my credit cards but she was offering to lower my interest rate. Since is the second call in 3 days from the same number maybe they have actually set down roots and can be captured by the FTC. Off to report them AGAIN.
More of the same people - all liars - and rude to boot
Same experience as Craig: They left a message on my cell phone. Same "last chance" pitch.
They left a message on my answering machine telling me it was my last chance to reduce the interest on my credit card. Little different then the normal Card Holder Services calls but the same idea. I just keep giving the info to the FTC. Hopefully at some point they will have enough to track these guys down again and put them out of business.
"This is your last chance to lower your Credit Card..."
Same old Credit Card SCAM
Got the call today on my cell at 3 p.m. I did not pick up, and no message was left.
A guy called offering buttplugs for sale and free mounting. Sounded like a Portland flamer.
I have no idea........I see the calls on the caller ID every day. No message ever left.
This number showed up on my called id the other day. The phone number just looked fishy to me.
I report this to both the do not call registry and the FCC.gov who has more clout regarding these type of calls. I am on the do not call list etc. I also am completely out of debt thanks to my husband's life insurance. He died. Why I am getting these calls I do not know. But I do know that once I started reporting them to the FCC.gov, and asked that they be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, most of them have stopped. Give it a try, perhaps our government will actually do something about this. Maybe even give Americans jobs to deal with this.
same call different number as always they say they can lower your interest rate on credit cards
Robo lower credit cards rates
repeated phishing call
today i have time and try to bullshitted them at least for 15 min ( at least 10 times i asked them to repeat CC number, and give each time other one) At the end I explain them everything.
At least this time I had fun.
card services recording
Yet another "Rachel, lower credit card rates, blah blah blah" call.
This same phishing outfit calls from multiple numbers. I block each one, and they pop up with a new number. I'll keep blocking 'til these people get a clue! Or until they run out of numbers, whichever comes first.
Credit reprice scammers will be ''taken out'' when enough of you make noise about them. Complaints to the DNC site, FTC, and attorneys general all helped the FTC choke off several ''Heathers'' and ''Rachels'' in 2010. Individual action through a TCPA lawsuit would be a strong suggestion, if anyone manages to corner one of these scammers long enough.
I just answered them and pressed 1 and said State Police they Hung up ...but you know these scumbags will continue to call...next time I'm going to Use A Super Sound Air Horn that should make them stop.....lmao
Scam from Rachel, of Card Holder Services. When will these people FINALLY be taken out?
First off they called at 6am. They were calling to lower CC rate. When a live person came on line they hung up on me.
Make this another report on call recieved from them in which they tried to get CC# from me in order to lower interest rates on card.. Indicated that window to do this will close soon need to do it now.
No one was on the phone when I answered. I'm glad! I have to remember to put my glasses on when I check my caller ID. :-)
Same as always...scammers.
Debt relief scam. repeated calls despite my being on "Do Not Call" registry, and having informed them of same.
"Final Notice, lower credit card debt, take advantage of stimulus, press 1 NOW"
The answering machine picked up the call. Their recording said take advantage of the stimulas and that this was our last chance. We live in an apartment, they might want to contact people who have some debt to relieve, besides we are on both state and federal no call lists.
