The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want
Shit licker | shitlicker |
shitlicker calls from 2 phone numbers:
I have asked these people NUMEROUS times to quit calling us, to take us off their list. Sometimes they say okay; sometimes they hang up when the get the answering machine. I don't know if they are legitimate with lazy telemarketers, or a scam looking for empty houses to rob.
Sorry, Crissy, there are too many thug-like fake ''hero charities'' for me to trust that ''all you have to do'' is ask nicely for calls to end. This is likely to be a commercial fundraiser, thus subject to the Telemarketing Sales Rule. Such a call center must keep and add to an internal no-call list or else risk a consumer lawsuit.

Don’t Be Taken In by Bogus Charities
This is a legit cause and charity that they are calling for. All you have to do is answer the phone and say please take me off the call list, they will do it. I spoke with them and complained about all the calls. I am set up to only be contacted every 3 months now. I do like to donate, and they do leave a tax deductible receipt. I just didn't have items to give every time they called. So I am only contacted every 3 months. Its been over 2 months and I have not received any calls just as I requested.
My caller ID made it look like "CAP SUCS" which raised a red flag. I did not get to the phone in time to answer it, and am glad I didn't after reading previous comments about the number. My home number is on every DNC list in the world but I wasn't sure until looking here if it could have been someone legitimately visiting my website then calling my business line looking for a freelance writer. Certainly is tough to tell who is who any more.
Called at the same time as the Pacifictel spammer. No msg.
A few months ago a law was passed that makes using a fake phone number and/or identity that would appear on caller ID illegal. Then until now is the longest period in probably the past 5 years I haven't a call from Robo-Rachel of card holder services. I haven't gotten any of their faked phone number (altered actual company names, 'cellular call', 'wireless caller') or fake caller ID (various cartoon characters, Red Cress, etc.). These continued to come in spite of blocking several dozen of their numbers, being on the receiving end of an obscenity laden tirade from a thickly accented Indian or Pakistani man that included various F-bombs, C-bombs, MFs, etc. While it was an awful thing to think that such language would be used against anybody was indeed offensive, but hearing his accent and him stuttering and stammering trying to spit those words out was not without a humorous aspect. I'm a biker so the language didn't bother me, again the thought of some nice person getting the brunt of it did stink. I filed dozens of complains at the Do Not Call site and directly with the FTC and my state AG consumer affairs department and prayed for a plague of locusts to descend upon them and their employees. (I learned complaints to the DNC registry are NOT reviewed or looked at at all unless something else triggers an investigation against an offending company at which time the DNC registry MIGHT be reviewed to check for complaints. It's all explained in the fine print which few read.)
Of course, I doubted that Card Holder Services (I think they occasionally call themselves Card Member Services) would just close shop and go away. I believe this is them with a different name, a replaced Robo-Rachel with another Robo-Woman-Voice. The line of BS is identical to what they always said, the spiel that other who actually talk to someone there is the same. Since they can't fake the number anymore legally, this may mean the foul language tirades may be done. I haven't read where they hang up when people mention the DNC registry yet but that will be a sure give away if it happens. If you don't complete the statement where you tell them you are on DNC or anything to that effect because they hang up, you haven't TECHNICALLY told them to not call you. A lawyer explained that to me.
Anyway, apologies for the long rant, but that's who I think it is and why these calls all seemed to begin around the same time.
206-445-6131 called at 9:40 AM CST on my cell. I have answered this area code before so I didn't bother this time. I have the number saved as scam in my caller information list. I am on every do not call list that I know of.
There's a $10 electronis gimmick you can by from SPENCERS gift shops that has a bunch of goofy recordings on it that you can play by pushing a button. Play these into the phone when these sphincters call, it drives them nuts. NO, Idon't work for SPENCERS.
A computer generated call, telling me I need to call "this number" in order to lower my credit card interest rate. I know it's a scam, because I don't have any credit card balance to pay off, so I have no interest in lowering my interest rate. SCAM!!!!
Credit card scam
no message left on machine, just another scam i bet!
It's Heather with the credit card scam! But you can call them back and press 1 to get removed from their call list, lol, because they will never stop calling you.
These are hateful thugs who harass people for years and refuse to end their calls no matter what. They should be fined millions and inprisoned!
Indeed... all need donations. However, most of the monies goes toward the directors and some employees salaries instead of assisting the needed.
When I answer the phone, they hang up. Its never a human on the other line.
These are the people who pick up your good items. I often give to Goodwill but you have to deliver your items to their store. This group of Texas Veterans, have a thrift store, and they will come to your house and pick up your charity items. They are the best!!!
These people are ruthless, calling at all hours, sometimes several times a day, refusing to remove our number, and ensuring that we will never donate to them. This all started when we gave a donation to Texas Paralyzed Veterans, which we will NEVER do again.
3 times in 6 minutes although we blocked them
This number called my home 7 times in one night (3-NOV-10) between the hours of 5:30 PM and 8:45 PM. On the 4th call I told them we had nothing for them and to stop calling. On the 5th call I just hung up. On the 6th Call I very explicitly told them to stop calling and on the 7th call I asked to speak to a supervisor, was put on hold and then hung up on.
No body there when answered
This is from A.T. out of Austin. They are looking for clothing donations.
this number calls every other day or so. when i pick up the phone, it already hung up... very odd
(512) 443-3336 is a company that calls on behalf of many small charities. I used *67 to block my caller id and called the next day.
Addendum - This PDF file from this year - www.tvc.state.tx.us
Shows that number to be tied to the Austin chapter of the Texas Paralyzed Veterans Association; however the organization's website does not show that number as a contact number.

Two months ago, I blocked a 512 area code (Austin) number from "Clothing Donate" (as it appears on the caller ID), then within a week, an area code 214 (Dallas area) Clothing Donate number started calling me and I blocked that. Now I get calls from 512-443-3336 listed as "out of area" on the ID - looks like it's these same jokers. We live 100 miles from both cities - what's their deal with used clothes from other cities?!! I never answer and they never leave a message.
these people are relentless, they've called despite repeated attempts to remove my name over the last 8 years. I thik that they think they are exempt from telemarketing law because they are a charity. In the past 6 months they've even started calling from an additional 210 area code number that says "clothing donate" on the caller ID
Rings once often.
This company calls at least three to four times per day at various time; early morning, mid morning, afternoons as well as evenings. I've answer before and told them to remove our name and number from their calling list. The people state I have to call a different number. When I call all I can do is leave a msg. They stop calling for about one or two months then it starts up again.
