March 20th, 2009 Jackl NV

OK here it is. Got a call from the spoofed number stating they would reduce credit card interest rates. Pressed 1 to speak with someone. Listened to their little spill and its basically the same stuff. Heather from account services crap. The place Personal Data Systems is supposedly run by lawyers under the name My Consumer Law Group.com (Law Group PA). They want a piece of your pocket book by supposedly making payments to your credit card company on your behalf, but of course they would be paid. The office seems to be small with lots of noise in the back gound. They use spoofed numbers and were going to actually send me some BS info packet after I sent them a payment. I gave them a bogus SSN, address, name and date of birth. After listening to the sales pitch, I told him I was in law enforcement and why were they violating the Do Not Call list. Of course he said they weren't and they would be happy to remove me. I've heard they have a high turn over rate and of course they are a scam. I think I scared the daylights out of this guy by telling him what I knew. The calls won't stop because they'll have some other idiots calling you because of their high turn over rate. The only folks who can stop them are the FBI because they are calling across state lines. The FBI can work with Attourney Generals of other states. I'm sure they will change the number that they gave me but call 1-866-659-9866 and ask to speak with Calvin. I told him the entire conversation was being recorded and that the number was being traced. He was paralyzed with fear. What you can do is to record that message they leave on your phone, call them at 866-659-9866 and play the message back to them. They don’t like it very much.

March 6th, 2009 CaptSquid

Didn't pick up. The 850 number is a spoof number, not in service.

I've started pressing 1 on these guys (to talk to a live operator) and then I proceed to talk about masturbation, fantasies, and they usually hang up quickly. If more of us gross them out, the employees will feel so filthy that they'll quit their jobs! Certain pressing 2 does nothing, it certainly doesn't stop their calls!

March 3rd, 2009 Bobby

Oh, and: may the person who recorded the voice find themselves speaking through a tube.

March 3rd, 2009 Bobby

May every employee of this company see their children and loved ones suffer EVERY inconvenience they cause 10 fold. This is the 3rd call today. Same company with different phone numbers. This is an absolute joke and since the gov can't seem to stop them, I am relying on old Sicillian curses. May the owners of these companies find themselves bankrupt, alone and staring at this page. SOON.

March 3rd, 2009 Rita TX

I have been on the DO NOT CALL REGISTERY for as long as it has been offered. However these stupid annoying calls keep coming and more often than before. 850 432 3928 called again 3/3/09 at 11:53 AM. I had one the other day, the same recording, but from a different #. I waited until I got a "real" person to talk to and told them all I wanted is for them to take my name off their list and stop calling. They slammed the phone down.... What can we do?

February 28th, 2009 Rich VA

This is the 4th call. Reduction of credit card percentage and also that our car was going out of warranty and we needed to extend it. No personal info provided by us. Called back and entered the "opt out" for them and the calls still keep coming. Next time if the call comes during "free" air time, I'll tell them to wait a few minutes until I can get my spouse on the line. Then set the phone down, eventually they'll hang up. They probably need to make so many calls and contacts per hour...this might slow them down from harassing others.

February 26th, 2009 Mike Larson

We are on the no call list and we continually get calls from 850-432-3928 stating they are a credit service and wanting to know if we want their services, when I told Jason that we were on the no call list he hung up.

February 24th, 2009 Vicki S CT

I have gotten calls repeatedly from the same bunch (Credit Services). Each time it's either about last chance to lower my credit card rate or an extended car warranty. We've been on the DNC list since 2004 and I've told these people, on the rare occasion I can get a human to answer, to never call us again and I was reporting them. They still call! Here's the info about the calls we've gotten in February alone (all are ET):

2/4 at 2pm 305-474-9429
2/4 at 226p 386-427-6893

called twice in 1 day. i have requested, by speaking to a real person, to be placed on their do not call list. this request is ignored. called the ftc and filed a complaint (ftc # 877.382.4357) also see sbynews.blogspot.com for additional information about this #.

February 20th, 2009 Rochelle MT

Again with the "This is your final courtesy call" and abrupt hang up on my machine. This happens with another number from FL. I called back and I reached a number that was no longer in service! Funny that disconnected number had worked 30 seconds earlier to call me! A-hole. DNC registry is a joke. Sign up for it, yet YOU still have to sign up for blocking services and and check every out of area call that comes through.

February 19th, 2009 j NY

phone is from credit services

February 19th, 2009 J

Message was same message i received from another number from Ft Meyers Florida, 239-482-3803

February 18th, 2009 Lisa

This # was on my caller ID as unavailable. I called it back and got a disconnected recording. They didn't leave a message.

February 18th, 2009 Andy TX

Thanks for your comments.I'm going to get a phone that can block calls from these type of calls.

February 17th, 2009 Mustang Sally

These guys call all the time. Fortunately, we are not home when they call, so when I see the caller ID, I do the quick delete option. Filing with the FTC does NO GOOD. Next time they call, I'm considering giving them my Senator's phone number as an alternate. We might get some attention to this flagrant violation of the DNC.

February 17th, 2009 deb

What happened to the Federal No-Call list? Why aren't these people prosecuted when they are obviously disregarding the no-call order from the government? They get your number and hang on like a rabid dog to a bone even if calling for a different number every time, and I don't understand how this is allowed to continue???

February 13th, 2009 Jerry W.

Caller promised to reduce my credit card debt. ( I have none. ) When I confronted the caller with the fact that I am registered on the Do Not Call registry she abruptly hung up. I tried calling the number on the caller id, but received a recorded message that the phone number is not in service.

February 11th, 2009 grace

this lady called and said would lower rate to all visas and mastercards, when I questions her , all I heard were beeps and then she hung up before I had a chance to make addtional questions

February 6th, 2009 Jezebel

I receive calls from this number all the time -- I never pick up, but that hasn't caused them to cease trying. And I file a complaint every time with the DNC registry -- clearly, a spectacularly responsive and effective service.

Please keep in mind Pensacola is a breeding ground for debt collectors, i.e. alot of them are HQ'd there. It is quite possible that we all may share something elese in common than this number on our caller I.D., but we all may be indebted to this company, or they are a debt clearing house that purchased our negative/deliquent accounts from another finacial institution, and are trying to collect by any means needed.

1-30-09 First it does no good to blow whistles on modern phones. When decibels reach certain levels sound is reduced or cut. I guess it just makes you feel good. Second, it does little to notify FTC. The thief's phone changes numbers like dirty diapers.
We must mount an attack somehow on the thieves. I guess we are giving the low life's a job which a lot of people don't have today. It might be better than robbing a bank with a gun. They cannot go to jail or get shot at. I don't buy anything on a phone call anyway. Nothing....

January 30th, 2009 some guy MA

I started keeping a sports whistle by the phone. I like to blow it REAL hard into the phone when solicitors call. No joke. You should try it some time. It's make you feel good. At least you can cause that one person a bit of pain - maybe even damage their hearing.

That's something!

January 28th, 2009 EBS MD

I've received calls with this same spiel from an "unknown name, unknown number" before; I tried my best to sound like a clueless old bag, but they hung up on me when I pressed them about which card and which bank of the few I deal with they were calling me (I don't have any credit cards!!) I didn't pick up this latest "Florida" call but it sounds like a total phishing scam... very obvious.

January 27th, 2009 Justin ME

I have received calls from these people nearly everyday for the past week. Today it was twice, so I pressed "1" to ask to be off the list. Once I received a woman who asked if I was ready to lower my rates. I said, no and that I wanted to not be called by them anymore. She promptly hung up. I called the number that showed up when I did *69, but that was some poor woman in FL who is constantly getting calls. She said that if anyone can get any information out of these frauds, they should contact their state attorney general.

January 24th, 2009 nancy VA

when i answered it if was a recording that said i needed to press one to lower my creditcard rates. I pressed one and they hung up on me

January 23rd, 2009 Shari VA

They just called again. I swear I have been receiving a phone call from this number every day or every other day for almost a month, despite me pressing "1" a couple times to speak with a representative to ask to be removed from their list, which is always responded with them promptly hanging up on me. I called the FTC and reported them (FTC at 877-382-4357) and the lady I spoke with was polite but said that it would probably take several complaints to launch an investigation. So, if you are repeatedly getting harassed by this number PLEASE PLEASE report it to the FTC!!!!

January 19th, 2009 Jenny MD

I have gotten the same pitch, same rudeness, and same constant call-back no matter what I request.

SOLUTION: The only thing you can do is report this to the FTC at www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov

Enough reports may spur an investigation. Also check with your phone company to see if they can block the number for everyone, or at least just for yourself.

See article about these guys at sbynews.blogspot.com

these scumbags call me twice a week, told them to take me of their list about six months ago said they will, never did!
tonight they called i just happened to be cleaning out my desk when they called and i happened to find a whistle, i blew the whistle in the representive ear as loud as i could, hope he cant hear for year!

January 13th, 2009 L CA

Did not leave message.

January 12th, 2009 Nick

The Congress & the FTC should make a reporting channel available to all of America who continues to be plagued by unwanted anonymous solicitations for devious scams. There should be an expedient way to shut these folks down. It is obvious that this is just another one of those scammers. Don't ever answer your phone unless it is someone you know... just let your message machine take care of the answering job... they'll never leave a message because it is automated.

January 12th, 2009 Bonnie VA

I pushed 1 to speak to a person and asked that they not call me again and the woman said "NO". I also have Do Not Call and what good is it?

January 10th, 2009 Karl NY

Veiled threatening message about my credit. Spoke to someone and asked questions he didnt like and got hung up on.

January 9th, 2009 Kat

Same as everyone, robocall, push 1 to lower my credit card rates. I pushed one, got a woman who reads from the same script they all do. She: You pressed 1 to lower your credit card rates, correct? Me: No, I pressed 1 to inform you that this number is on the DNC list and you are violating the law. She (flustered): No, you called us to lower your credit card rates. Me: No, sweetie, the phone records will verify that you called me illegally. Does your family know you are criminal? Were you proud to tell them that when you got this job? She hung up at that point. I love playing head games with these morons.

January 9th, 2009 dennis MA

Will not stop calling-- I keep telling them to take me off their calling list and tell them I'm on the national Do-Not-Call-List but still they keep calling. I told one of the reps to f-off and hunk up, and he called me back and said the same thing to me so you can't even get the last word with them. How the hell does one stop these guys from calling??????

January 8th, 2009 Bonnie Butler

This is about the fourth or fifth call from this number. The caller (on tape) says that they've been trying to reach us with no luck and that this is our last chance to lower our credit card interest. At this point we've always hung up. Whoever heard of a credit card company calling you to lower your interest.

January 7th, 2009 Misanthrope TN

Ed, you are AWESOME! I loled so hard after reading your comments. :D

January 6th, 2009 Pam CA

Same as everyone else. They call me every couple of weeks. Press 1 to talk to them or 2 to be dropped from the list. Last chance blah blah blah. I've pressed 2 several times, pressed 1 and told them specifically to stop calling me several times... Nothing helps. Just now they called again and when I asked for a mailing address and a supervisor, they hung up on me! This is pollution and it needs to stop!

December 31st, 2008 T CA

This is a fraudulent call from a company that is trying to get your information. They also hung up on me when I asked them to identify the credit card for which they were calling, as I only have two and they are paid up. Thank you to the person who provided the FTC number. I am also submitting a complaint and suggest everyone who read this do the same. And hey, while you're at it, keep a whistle handy for these types of criminals. I am also on the Do Not Call registry. These are definitely cold calls. The FTC person with whom I spoke indicated they can display any number they want to and to not try to call them back.

December 31st, 2008 Anonymous NM

Beware: they are a phishing company committing identity theft and fraud.
Please report whatever you can to your local police.

December 30th, 2008 Ed the bad azz

Got a call last week saying they could lower my credit card rate. I said sure and when he got to asking my credit card number I told him I don't give that info out and to take my name off the list or he'd bee SEEING me because I knew where his company was. He hung up.
Just a few minutes ago, a woman identifying herself as Evelyn from the same company with the same story called. I said, Evelyn? Isn't your husband's name Harold? She stammered and said, "No, it's Carl" (STUPID, STUPID, STUPID...I had her). "Oh, you're THAT Evelyn. Well, then you should know that Carl is out at a titty bar with his girlfriend, Nancy." She gasped, then stammered, "No he's not!" I asked, "Are you SURE?" She hung up on me. I LOVE messing with those losers!

December 30th, 2008 Ed the Old Salt

These scum bags called the other day and I played along until the guy asked for my credit card number. I told him he needed to get a real job, one that included asking "Y'all wawnt frais wid dat?" He asked what I meant. I told him I don't give my credit card out to some inbred who I don't know and whose company I've never heard of. I told him I can track him down and he and his company won't be happy when I walk in the door.
I told him if he EVER called back, or anyone from his company, he'd get a visit and it wouldn't be social. He said he'd take my number off their list. Well, just a couple of minutes ago, guess who called again. Same company. I told the woman that I know who she is (she said her name was Evelyn) and that her husband was at a titty bar with his girlfriend. She said, "No he isn't" and I asked, "Are you sure?" and hung up. ahahahahahahahah
I LOVE messing with those losers!

December 25th, 2008 Private Caller NV

Here's something you could try when they call. When you answer, or get to talk to a real person, say "This is XXXXXX Police Dept., Fraud Division, Sgt XXXXXXX, can I help you. For those of you that can't figure it out, you replace the XXXXXXX's with your local police dept., and your name.

December 24th, 2008 Jim AL

Has been calling everyday for 2 or 3 weeks. I had the option to press 1 and speak with a representative who answered with a title of Credit Services Dept. When she answered I told her to take me off their calling list. She hung up on me. I have reported their number to the FTC Do Not Call Registry complaint site 5 times now, but apparently FTC's Do Not Call Registry is like the rest of the government, it no longer functions at all. I sent both my Senators letters about all these telemarketer calls and told both of them that the FTC was asleep and to poke them with a stick and wake them up. I'll have to wait and see what they say when they respond back. If the FTC is no longer putting a stop to this madness, then we need to have our Senators fire most all of them out of that department and let them get a real job and quit riding off our taxes.

Like everyone else this was a Robo Call regarding lowering my interest rate on my credit card. Funny thing - I don't have any credit cards. LOL

December 23rd, 2008 Edward Kenney VA

Message left on answering service from 850-432-3928, no name available. Received on 12/23/08 at 10:27 a.m.. All I heard were the words "good bye".

December 23rd, 2008 FranK D. ME

Another one of these pre-recorded scam calls interrupting my work with their "Final offer to reduce my credit card rates". I wish they'd stick to their word and quit bugging me. Previous attempts with press #2 didn't work. Speaking with an operator teaches you it is a total scam as they don't reveal any corporate info, don't know my name, don't know which credit card I have and refuse to opt me out.

We have been on DNC for years, with nary a telemarketer call for the longest time (1 a month?), but now we're back to one or two a day and that's just insane.

December 23rd, 2008 jeff NY

just another scam from fla cant wait till they get theirs shutting off phone feds and phone company wont do any thing its the same one thats been caling us for the past 3 months same time finger hut started bugging us ?????

December 22nd, 2008 nightship538 CA

Autobot, credit card services dept who said they would lower my rates. It was probably for my deadbeat exhusband

December 22nd, 2008 Brooklynite NY

I pressed "1" to speak to a representative. We had a nice talk, and I tried to keep them on the line as long as possible. They offered to lower my credit card payments, as long as I had more than $3,000 in debt. Eventually the first representative transferred me to a floor supervisor. I asked where they were based, and they said Atlanta, Georgia. I asked if they could give me the name of their company, and they asked why. I said because you are asking me to give you my credit card number, so I'd like to find out how you are. Then they hung up.

December 17th, 2008 sherri1 AL

I don't even live in Florida anymore. I live in Alabama and I have received this call twice from two different numbers and when I call them back, it's saying this number is no longer in service. I wish I knew where they were calling from.

December 13th, 2008 steve

We have gotten several calls from this number and ID reads "unknown name". I tried calling back several times and received a message stating that it was no longer a working number. If it isn't "working" how do they call us?

December 13th, 2008 Jeff

Same complaint as everyone else. Tried to optout by pushing 2 on the robocall. Still receive calls every other day. Tried talking to representative of company could not get any answer just dail tone. Called numder back and its a non working number. Wish somebody would do something about this. People being harrassed by this company need a "BAIL OUT' by athorities in this situation.

December 10th, 2008 Tron VA

Got the same as every one else. Answered to see if they had opt-out in effect. Nope.
Love the new FTC rules that went into effect Dec 1st. www.ftc.gov

Filed an immediate complaint.
All Robo call with no opt-out are going to get a complaint, every time they call. Haha.

This should also make it easier to sue if they keep don't comply.

December 9th, 2008 estelle31778 TX

Rude - telling me it was a final attempt to reach me - at which point I hung up

December 8th, 2008 Tex TX

I've gotten calls from this number probably 3-4 times in the last two weeks. Like everybody else, it's a recorded robo-call calling about "your credit card" but it never mentions what card, who they're calling, etc. I'm not about to "push 1" for any "name unavailble" call on my caller ID.
Sometimes I've gotten the exact same call, but no number even comes up on caller ID-- just "Anonymous".
What's the purpose of signing up on the Do Not Call Registry is you still get these idiots calling you?

December 6th, 2008 Ellen NY

Robocall said push 1, I did and the lady said she wanted to lower my interest rate on a credit card. I asked her what was the card number she was talking about and she hung up on me.

December 6th, 2008 Paul

Robocall said push 1 if I wanted my credit card rates lowered - I pushed 1 and the lady didn't know what my account was - it was a cold call - when I asked for her supervisor she hung up on me.

December 5th, 2008 Dushan29 CA

Robo Call..mentioned the word, "credit"...I hung up. I telephoned the FTC at 877-382-4357. All robo calls are suppose to identify who is calling, purpose of the call, and opting out. Spoke with Chris (female) at FTC on Dec. 5, 2008 who took down the complaint.

March 26th, 2008 I HATE SCAMMERS FL

Came up on my caller ID as Center Stage At. I thought it might be the Improv Club. Glad I looked it up here though. I called it back, blocking my number with *67 first, and it just rang and rang. Finally an answering machine picked up, and a computerized voice stated, "No messages will be recorded", and then it beeped twice. I am SO SICK AND TIRED of scams. We as a state just lost yet another firefighter to a sick and twisted man who shot up Wendy's restaurant. I live 5 minutes away from that firehouse, and it breaks my heart each time I drive by it. There are fundraising events for the family affected by this tragedy... Therefore, there are BOUND to be freaks out there cashing in on what we as a state feel is a very sad event. It amazes me how these numbers pop up right after an officer has been killed, or a firefighter, paramedic, etc. Usually, they're legit and trying to help the affected families. However, there are awful sick bastards out there who see it as a great time to launch a scam. Look at 9/11 and remember how many people tried to cash in on what was a horrible tragedy for our nation as a whole. There of course were good charities, and worthwhile fundraisers that arose from the ashes of that god awful day. I donated a whole lot myself and still do for different groups. If this is a scam, they should be SHUT DOWN. I think I'll email the FCC and see if they can do something.
