They called and did not leave a message. Showed up as "Apex, NC" on caller ID. Since I have some friends in Apex, I called back. Thought maybe someone had a new number or something. When I called back, a recording said, "You have reached the corporate office of Payment Systems" and went on about helping merchants who want to use electronic billing, credit cards, or debit cards. Since I used to have my own business a few years back, I think this was probably a telemarketer. I don't owe anyone any money.

Abrupt female caller dialed our main line. Asked to speak to the owner or controller about credit payments. When asked if this was a sales call, she replied that no, it was about payments. When asked if they were trying to sell a service to us, she advised she just wanted to know if we used credit payment services. Her manner was aggressive, rude and abrupt. I lied and told her no as regardless of why she was calling, I had no interest in the company she had been chosen to represent if she was an example of who they chose to interact with the outside world. She immediately hung up on me once she collected the information she wanted for whatever reason she needed it.

This company is a RIP OFF, they had me as a customer years ago for credit card processing, they lied to me up front and had hidden charges for everything you do. I am still paying for a credit card machine I do not use, that has a iron clad contract. They have started calling again NOT IDENTIFYING themselves and just saying they are my credit card processing company and the federal laws have changed and we are due a 35% discount in our rates and they must send someone by to tell me about saving this money. LIE LIE LIE!!! If it is a federal law they would just have to do it. I called my ACTUAL credit card processor and they assured me that this telephone number is NOT associated with them. I have warned them three times today to stop calling, I have called my current processor, my lawyer, and my state's Attorney General about their business practices. THis is nothing but a harrassing company.

I had a problem with Payment Systems calling me in the past and I complained through Facebook and got someone to take me off the call list. I also filed complaints on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. The calls started again yesterday and again today. They either get rude or hang up. Horrible company! Here is their Facebook Link... I was told they don't have a listing, to which I told her that they are required by law to put me on the list for five years upon my request. She kept arguing with me so I hung up. This company is truely fraudulent! A sales rep entered my office and sold me a machine and processing with the condition that I could cancel within 2 months with no penalty. When I called to cancel, I learned that I could cancel the processing, but NOT the machine lease. LOCKED IN! When I called back to tell them the machine and processing were sold to me on a conditional basis, the lady at Encore Payment Systems told me that I should have read my lease and that they are not responsible for what the independent contractor verbally told me. Well, I did read my lease and questioned the sales rep. and he clearly told me that I could cancel.
Then when I made a claim with the BBB about this company, I was told that the lease would be reversed. About 2-3 weeks later, I get a collection letter AFTER I have been sent to collections without the ability to rectify the problem outside of collections.
So, a lease was sold to me fraudently, then when they are unhappy about your measures to clear this faulty lease, they will reverse the lease and send you to collections at the same time. Once you get to collections, your ONLY resolution is to be forced into a settlement, where justice is not a concern. This company needs to be exposed for who and what they do to small business owners who are the backbone to the US workforce.

From now on, my employee will be converted to an independent contractor so that I cannot be held liable for what they tell. Thanks Encore for showing me the real way to do business. Please walk into my office so that I may scam you!

So I finally picked up today and pressed one. Was on hold for about a minute... till a women answered with a 'hello'.... I said yah.. can you remove my number from this call service? She said sure, repeated my number to me and I said yup.. thats it. She then said 'we are looking for a douglas mccoy (we get asked this all the time with callers). I said he doesn't live here.... and that was it. So hopefully they will stop calling once and for all.

READ: Companies are using dialer-systems which can log (1) million calls per hour. Random dialing to find a 'live-person' on the other end.
In India, there are (3) companies one can hire for calls worldwide. They guarantee a live operator will 'pick-up' the call in (2) seconds, if (and this is important), if a 'live voice' answers the number when dialed.
Using the Internet with 'VOIP', the calls cost the companies NOTHING. You on the receiving end will see various 'phone-numbers' or false 'Caller-Id' info. All they need you to do is... ANSWER THE PHONE. Your number is then 'logged' as viable & you're on their lists: FOREVER.
Located outside the USA, Federal Laws do not apply.
Their systems leave no trace of ever having called you, even if you answer.
But once you answer, your number will be dialed over & over again. And sold to other lists.
1) Don't block the number. This tells them 'human-intervention' occured. They dial with another 'number'.
2) Load the number to your 'contact-list'. Use a name of 'Junk', or 'Sales'.
3) Never answer a phone number, you do not know. If it's important, they'll leave you a voicemail. Whoever it is.

Quit fuming & arguing about these parasites. Load the number in your contact-list, so you know its 'Junk'.
And... NEVER ANSWER if you don't know who is calling you. Period. Even if it's a business phone.

Once they find out, there's a 'Live-Person' on the other end ? Your number will be circulated for years...

Under federal law, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) states that an account may ONLY stay on a credit report for seven years. Asset Acceptance Corporation has allegedly been known to report to the credit bureaus that you made a payment on this old account which would than give them the right to "turn the clock back" so they can start collecting on this debt again. This is a violation of your rights.

If this has happened to you, there's plenty of lawyers out there who would love to take on your case.

I was cruising CareerBuilder for a job and happened across a listing for employment in my area that sounded great. I was intentionally avoiding job listings that said their location was "Nationwide" because I knew these were job listings that were either a pyramid or a scam in one way or another, like stuffing envelopes for $147 a day, and others... But anyway, I found this listing that caught my eye because it was located within 3 miles of my home in a plaza with other reputable businesses. Upon answering the listing and applying for the position, I was called by a man named Joshua that claimed to be from Prodigy Payment Solutions. I thought that he called me rather quickly after I applied. It seemed as though he wanted to conduct the interview right then and there... I was at home, it was almost dinner time.. anywho, I rescheduled the call for the next morning.. and then after dinner did some research. Ofcourse the first thing that Google came up with was an article posted on a website called ripoff.com.. it seems as though there are at least three ex-employees that had negative things to say about how this company operates.. I will research more... and let you know.

A sales person called to verify my address. I asked for what it was. The answer was about "Visa and Master cards changing their rates" and they wanted to send me the information. I recently activated my (very) small business credit card processing through PayPal's Virtual Terminal. This must have triggered some cascade of asshats and telemarketers who think that they can change my mind and have me switch to their second tier service. I answer the phone and say nothing, and listen as the caller clears his throat, snorts, "hello, hello's", and tries to engage a conversation with my coffee mug. It makes me smile inside. :-)

The rep was apparently eating her lunch chewing and smacking her lips as she tried to give me a sales pitch about credit card services. Then she says that a rep will be in my local area and will meet me at 12:30pm tomorrow. She makes this appointment WITHOUT asking me nor does she ask if that time is convenient with my schedule. I had received a new phone# once I moved into my new home. Shortly after, I started receiving calls from this number. I told them several times that they had the wrong number and requested that they remove my number. They obviously did not and the calls continued. Finally, I started looking into who they were, what type of company it was and/or whom they represent. I talked to manager after manager and the calls continued. Instead of the regular once a day, they called 3-4 times a day. One day they called, I requested their info and fax them in writing requesting that they stop calling the number and listed every person I spoke with. I went under Better Business Bureau's website, Fair Debt Collections Practices Act's website, and Federal Trade Comission's website and filed an on-line complaint form and provided them with the copy of the fax. I even got to the point where I was so fed up that I started calling them about 10 times a day stating they had the wrong number and to remove my phone# from their system. One day, I got to the CEO of the company and made a formal complaint with him. Since then, I never received a call from this company. Sure, I could've changed the phone number easily but why should I have to do that because of some debtor??

Eventually stupid people like these dummies will get the idea.

Caller was slow in responding when I answered; asked for me by name - I asked who she was - then she asked to speak to owner - I said no owner and hung up - seemed like she had potentail to be rude. I looked up this number in Dallas & it is shown as a number in west Dallas - somewhere in zips 75247; 75235; & 75212 - not Addison which appears to be their corporate office. Actually this office appears to be located across from my AAMCO service store - maybe I'll go knocking on their door when I bring my car in the first part of July. Well I asked my trainer and was told that "the few bad apples" get fired if it is found that they are mis-representing the company. All calls are recorded and randomly listened too.
Any apointments that are set have to be confirmed by a superviser, so if you would like to talk to a superviser go ahead, and pretend to be intrested and make your complaint at that point.

Another option to stop them: Call 214-451-6687. The phone system will tell you the mailbox is full, but if you listen long enough, you will be prompted for other options, including searching the company's phone directory. Enter this, then enter "A" for the "name of the person you're trying to dial." You'll then be in the co's voicemail system and can scroll through the employees by touching 1. Find a voice you like and leave a message with your name and number and ask to be removed. I left a message with a guy named Roger - he called back in an hour or so, apologized profusely, and told me he'd seen to it himself that they'd never call again....

"Payment Systems" calls everyday at least once. A real pain. To get back at them, call their toll free at: 866-909-8910 and ask to speak to Mark Harrelson - presidnet of the company. You might mention that you've got some questions about your "credit card processing" and that he suggested you contact him directly (which he did in an article he authored on the subject). That should at least get you through to his voicemail, wherein you can do your own variation of "telemarketing" or rather, "tell-a-marketer where to go!"

We get the same thing, they call every week sometimes twice a week. we tell them the we do not want to use their product or service and they keep on calling.

The companies name is Encore Payment systems and their web address is www.encoreps.com we filed a complaint with the BBB at www.bbb.org and the National Do Not Call Registry at www.donotcall.gov I might suggest everyone else do the same, maybe companies like this can be stopped.

I filed a complaint online with BBB after repeatedly telling Encore to stop calling and they continued to call. Here's the response I got this morning via email (enjoy the contact information enclosed):

I own an internet business and we accept credit cards thru a merchant account with my bank. This company called today and said they do the credit card processing for my bank. (I know that Nova process cards for my bank, so I knew something was strange about this call.) They wanted to "inform me of new rate changes and wanted to know if I would be in my office tomorrow at 1:45. I said why do you want my schedule? They said they wanted to deliver the rate change in person. I said you are NOT coming to my office. They said "you don't want this information floating out there." and I repeated that they were not welcome to show up at my office. I finally hung up on them. (Of course, we are also on the do not call list, but that obviously does not stop these people.)

This scumbags call with regularity once a week. Each call ends with them saying that THIS time they will definitely take me off the list. I called their 800 number(888 247 6504), and spoke to a woman named Cat in sales, who connected me with the operator, who said she would take my number off the list.
