I know this call is from Macy's because I made a mistake when giving the representative from macy's a phone number, i gave her mine. I thought she had asked for mine,when she really asked for my credit card company phone number.

Call that number back. Choose option 2. It is supposed to remove your number from its call list. This may take about 30 days. I just did it. Just have to wait and see.

You wonder why people get so angry with these calls. I checked my caller ID and the last 10 calls were from either someone selling me something, taking a survey, or a charity. I really wish that they would pass a law that surveys or charities cannot cold call you. Also, that businesses that you have used in the past cannot call you to offer products unless you put in in writing that you wish these calls. I know that people have to make a living, but really 10 calls in a row!

We have an Orchard Bank credit card, a branch of HSBC. At this time, we have nothing owing on the card but are continually harrassed by heavily accented men wanting us to take out expensive Unemployment, Death or Disability insurance on our zero balance. I began by telling them politely that we don't want any, but they are persistent! I get at least two phone calls a day. Never answer as I know their number by heart, so am hoping they get tired of calling an inactive number.

Suggest answering and setting the phone next to talk show radio. If everyone did this, I wonder if it would have an impact. Another option, report to the FTC and phone company. If they all get enough reports someone will try to get resolution assigned to the right hands.
THey keep calling, asking you to pay for a service you DON'T NEED. Their trick is to use someone who speaks such a bad English you can hardly understand what they say. Can't ignore them. They just continually harass with their calls. Not only do they call landlines, they now have begun calling cell phones. All my numbers are on the DNC list. But it makes no difference. if ever you have had dealings with them in any sort, that gives them the right to call thus making them exempt from the law. This should not be, but it is and we're stuck with either answering the call and taking their guff or continue to let the machine take the call.

I have a system that announces through out my house whose calling and calling number also associated with that is a caller ID that announces to the calling number that this phone number will not accept your call. They can keep pressing their buttons as long as they want, but will never get through!

If you call this number back it says it is HSBC and that they are calling you because you have a credit card or some other account with them. They do give you a method to take your number off their automated calling system, however they say it may take up to 60 days to remove. I plan to ensure that they donot call again after July 15th. If they don't I will file a complaint with the Attorney General. FYI - I do not have any credit cards with this company and have never even heard of them.
Need to get the NY Attorney General's Office on this company - they are not following the rules of the DNC List.

Missed call on my cell phone. Unknown caller. Interesting, on same day that Chase Credit Card Co. called my cell phone with ID code to access my account. What's more interesting, is that you can choose what # you want Chase to contact you (by last 4 digits of a phone #). I chose my home # and, strangley enough, my cell # rang and that was not a choice.

I receive about 6 - 8 calls a day from (800)446-1022. It is the telemarketing division of HSBC. Finally, after a couple of weeks of seeing the number on my caller ID, I called the number back. You get an automated recording that tells you that you are probably calling because you saw the number on your caller id. It also says that they are the telemarketing division. When they give you the list of options, press 2 to have your number removed from their telemarketing list. It says it can take up to 60 days to remove your number, but 60 days is better than the next 60 years. I just called the number at 8:00 CST tonight and put in my phone number to get it removed so we'll see.
I just wrote them an email and told them that I WILL NOT PAY MY BILL UNTIL THE CALLS STOP let's see what that does.

I finally looked the number up here and saw what it was. I recently opened and account with them but didn't sign up for the 'protection'. I'm assuming that's what they want to sell me. I called them back and pressed option 2 to remove my number. We'll see if they stop calling after a month.

I've been recieving the phone calls from this number for weeks. They started out of nowhere. I called my phone company and they told me how to block the number. I've blocked it but it still shows up on my call log when I check it online.
I finally called the number back with a huge "stop-calling-me" line going through my head but was surprised at the prompts.
Prompt #1- You're calling about your credit card account.
Prompt #2- You wanna get off the telemarketing list.
Pick #2 and input your phone number when the prompt says so. It says thank you and it might take up to 60 days to remove you from the system.

HSBC Credit selling insurance and upgrades to credit cards or auto loans
They have called incessantly for the past two days. I answsered yesterday and that's when I discovered they are calling on behalf of Direct Merchants Bank and trying to sell me products. I told her I'm not interested and this morning my phone started to ring at 8:30 and they've called back every half hour since.
I called the number back and it is HSBC there is a recording push option #2 to cancel phone calls...message said it could take up to 60 days though...ulg

Yes, that's HSBC. They're actually a British company, so they feel that they don't have to obey any U.S. laws. I had a car financed through them a few years ago and they were a pleasure to work with and were actually kind enough to lower my interest rate when I asked them, but my local credit union offered a much better deal, so I switched. That's when their endless phone calls began. If you think their telephone sales pitches are a pain, you should read all the garbage they send through the U.S. mail. Can you stop the calls? Probably not because they're above the law and don't care about whether you're disturbed or not.
This is one of several 1-800 numbers associated with HSBC as others have mentioned. The number is an auto-dialer that calls my # 2-3 a day for a week or two, then it will stop for a few weeks before restarting. They never leave a message, because the software waits for a live person before transfering you to the live tele-spammer. In my case, I know the company got my number after I signed up for a credit card with orchard bank. If you read the fine print in the contract, HSBC is affiliated with a number of the high interest or pre-paid cards. Yes, they do aggressively call and try to sell you crap you do not need, to charge you more monthly fees on your account. My suggestion is rather than going through the auto-menu, call and bother real people. Clearly the people working for these companies need more stress and abuse, if they are to be discouraged from continuing this annoying practice. Or have some fun when the live person finally comes on. Try mimicking their accent and/or asking a lot of inappropriate personal questions. After all, they called you; not the other way around. Alternatively, get the call blocker service or software that filters unknown calls or 800-numbers.
Get calls all the time...do not answer. I do not understand why our elected officials allow this type of harrassment to continue. Frankly, I was bothered LESS before I signed up for the DO NOT CALL registry. These leaches on society just found a way around the law...
I called 800-446-1022 and selected #2 to have my number removed from their calling list. The recording says it will take up to **60** Days for it to go into effect. Yipee! 60 more days of annoying phone calls! :P

I can set my clock with these a**holes! 8:01 am I get my first call, 9:01 am on Sundays; and they call up until 8:59pm. They like to call, wait 5 seconds, and call again. Never a message. I dispise them. They suck.
Almost every day for a week now, I've been getting a call with a regular number from HSBC Credit Card Services. I haven't been answering it. Today they switched to using a toll-free number. I still didn't answer. Googled the number to find this website and to find out it's STILL HSBC bothering me. I called back the number and chose option #2 to remove my number from their list. It now takes up to SIXTY (that's right... 60!) days to remove your number from their list. Annoying!

After the second call today I chose to answer. There was a person on the other end. I told them that this number is on the do not call list. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand everything that was replied because of the strong accent. I did get that they would tag our number, but it may take up to 30 days for the calls to stop.
I *strongly* dislike HSBC. I have an excellent credit history, however they made a huge error on one of my cards. The local retailer held my card and who uses their service called them directly and instructed them to make a correction to my account immediately. HSBC still didn't handle my account approprately.
I have learned that HSBC is used by Best Buy, The Bon-Ton, Boscov's, and Value City. I cancelled all my cards in stores that use HSBC and have avoided making purchases from these retailers. I wish I knew what other local stores or national chains are hooked up with this outfit!!!!!!! They would also lose my business. I know of no other way to fight these idiots.

Call alll the time and even if you opt out they will still call; I oppted out when HSBC was calling to sell stuff nearly a year ago and they keep calling. I have reported it but nothing happens. I took my name off there list, I am on the do not call list both cell and home and can't get HSBC to stop calling. I called customer service and yet they still call. Gave customer service a warning to have the telemarketers to stop calling me or I would cancel my accounts and if they continued after that I was calling my attorney. I have an appointment with my attorney today. Does that tell you the stage I am at. I do not know why they keep calling to sell me things. I don't want them and I did remove my name. If you'll call the same number back, you'll get a message from HSBC admitting they are the ones behind the calls. Continue to listen to the message and you will be given the opportunity to block further calls BUT it might take them 60 days before they can process your request -- that's a bunch of BS!!!

Received over 30 calls at this number for the month of May. A gentleman informed us online to call back the toll=free number as they had a punch-in to remove your number from their lists. It's HSBC Bank. It said it could take up to 6 weeks--it only took a week. However, today (6/7) I received another call from 800-975-4722. When I called back, it was HSBC Bank again but this time no section to remove your phone number! So I guess that means I will now be harassed to death with their hang-up calls from this new number! Thre oughta be a law against this.

if you are getting calls from them its becouse you have a credit card through them. these calls are NOT prohibited by trhe national do not call list becouse they have a business relationship with you. simply ask to be removed from thier solicitation list, and within 30 days the calls shouls cease. good luck unibonger
I'm infuriated to learn this is from my credit card company by their telemarketing division in India. Maybe they think US law does not apply to them in this case, then? Ten calls yesterday, and one this morning -- I had a field day with them this morning. I have also filed a complaint with the FCC. If anyone hasn't done that yet, I'd suggest you do -- the only way the FCC will do something is if they receive hundreds/thousands of complaints. LET THEM KNOW!

This can't be legal, it's just harassment. I get this every day with no one on the other end. I called it back today, message says "this is HSBC and you are probably calling us because you saw our number on your caller id" and then prompts you to ask to be removed from their list. I'm on do-not-call and I don't do business with them. And now, I never will.
I had to pay for caller id to find out that this was the caller harassing me. Now I have to pay the phone company to block these calls? Nuts, I think I'll just turn my phone off.

Calls everyday at least twice, sometimes more. I have started filing complaints through the Do Not Call site every time I receive a call from this number.
I returned their call via my caller ID and received a recording about a credit card that I don't even have. I was able to have my number deleted. We will see if that happens as they have been calling three to four times per day and NEVER leave a message. I "hope" my calls are over.

Constant calling, sometimes no one on other end of line, but talked to a person once and told them I wasn't interested, but the calls kept coming. calls are about once an hour fom 8 or 9-ish till late afternoon.
This is HSBC telmarketing. I have received calls from them, as many as 4 an hour, for the past month. They NEVER leave a message and when you answer there is n one there. Maybe they should take a few of their agents off the phones bothering people and have a few process the removal requests. This company is the definition of annoying!!!!!
