Credit Card Service call every day. I reported to FCC and they don't do anything. Credit Card Service uses different number and different area code. This fake business disregard any law and the people and laugh at government and everyone else

November 14th, 2012 luthervillemd MD

This business "Credit Card Service" calls us every day some time twice a day. I have documented all my reports to FCC but no one from government respond. This business use different phone numbers and area code. It is very obvious that this law and the money that government spend for this is a wast.

It's really hard to block these douch bags as every time they call it's from a different number. I always add the number to my Verizon blocked calls list but they only accept 5 blocks. I've put my number on the Do Not Call list but it does no good. I never answer my house phone so it's no problem there but my cell is a different matter. Because of them I've stopped answering long distance calls.

This is spam, sounds like criminals trying to get information from you under the guise of pretending to be a credit card company. When asked to be placed on their do not call list, the female said "No" in a hostile tone of voice and hung up on me.

November 12th, 2012 Kwitcher

The FTC just took down 5 of these scum suckers. Obviously they have more to go.

What To Do When You Get an Illegal Robocall; www.ftc.gov
1. Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list.
2. Consider blocking the number
3. Report it at www.fcc.gov
4. Report it at www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
5. People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office.
Register your phone numbers online at www.donotcall.gov or call (888) 382-1222 (must call from # you want removed).

I have greatly reduced the number of calls to my cell phones by going to my carriers website (Verizon) and they allow me to block up to 5 numbers for 90 days. Since these scum change numbers every 30 I have had a very peaceful time. Call me once shame on you, call me twice shame on me. I also put it in my contacts list under Scum Suckers and assign it NO ring tone so at least after the first call they won't bother me anymore (I have filled all of the numbers in each and am up to Scum Sucker 47 now). This is only a whack-a-mole solution however it is the only one I can offer.
If you want to stop these calls then you need to dry up their revenue source. Your phone company is charging you a fee for caller ID. Your phone company pays the scammer for sending their caller ID information. Your phone company pays only a fraction of a cent per call and you pay $5 to $15 to your phone company. The scammers send out millions of calls per day which amounts to a significant amount of money however your phone company is charging a large amount to millions of customers. This may have something to do with the phone companies inability to stop these calls. You can also see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet.
In order to stop this we need legislation making it illegal to charge for caller ID. If a phone service wishes to operate it would need to provide the caller ID at no charge to other phone providers and to it's customers as part of the service. Here is the $50,000 solution that the FCC is looking for and it doesn't cost anything.
Many of the disposable numbers come from Pacific Telecom Communications Group and they are currently under investigation and in the midst of various lawsuits. (The principles involved have been part of actions by the FCC under other business names). Here is an excellent blog site that I found that explains how this company is getting away with this activity.

November 11th, 2012 Mark CA

They have called me dozens of times, sometimes as many as 3 or 4 times a day. I have stayed on the line long enough to push 1 and talk to a live person. Every time I spoke to a live person I have been disconnected. I have report to the Do Not Call website over and over again. I wonder why Do Not Call apparently does nothing about these bothersome calls. They are calling on my cell phone, never on my land line. People at some level must be falling for this scam, whatever it is. Wish they would go away and stay there.

November 10th, 2012 Sumguy OR

November 10th, 2012 George M. NM

It's those credit card criminals, again. Every day they call me multiple times on both my landline and cell, using different spoofed phone numbers. When oh when is our Federal government going to do something about these horrible criminals and put them away in jail for a long, long time.

Perhaps the reason nothing is being done about this is because the companies that are perpetrating these credit card scams are owned by the big banks. And we know that the biggest criminals of all, the big banks, have special immunity and get a Get-Out-of-Jail card.

We have received several calls from this number and other numbers in the sequence 506-226-456x. When we tried to return the calls, we get a message that the number(s) aren't assigned (in English and French)... message ends with code 25, whatever that means.

Apparently, this area code is for New Brunswick, Canada (GMT -4 hours)... where we don't know anybody (including legit. businesses).

We have stored these numbers and plan to answer, if convenient, just to waste their time, shame the rep. (about his/her career choice), and cut down on their calling yield... if we have the free time, we're gonna waste theirs. If you're like-minded, don't forget to ask for a Supervisor/Manager of the rep... give a little extra adrenaline rush for the rep. (just before he/she hangs up) ;-)

Called today at noon. ID says NEW BRUNSWICK. Recorded message about last chance to lower my credit card rates. Scammers. They call you about your credit card but then want you to give them your credit card number...don't fall for it! They call every day. Pressing 2 to opt out does nothing but hang up the phone. This was a spoofed caller ID number, as usual. Wish someone could stop them. My phone company..verizon..says they can't do anything. The one person I spoke to seemed shocked that they could use a fake caller ID. I'm shocked that she didn't know scammers do that.

Everyone needs to remember to get on the "Do Not Call" list by the government... registering lasts 5 years and you MUST do it again. ALSO, do the same for your cell phones or you'll be getting charged per minute by you cell company! Most of these recorded messages say, "This is your last chance to lower Your Credit Card" ... and when you punch the button and ask a question, they Hang Up immediately." SO WHAT is their real game? (even if you try to play along to get info about them, they hang up). That tells me there is something more sinister regarding these calls. I hope the FCC looks into it!

Same thing- get their calls on the time- told them to stop, they just hang up- so this time I gave them a few choice words and they claimed they had my credit card numbers and were going to use them and buy stuff on them- it's all b.s., but it would be great to find these a-holes and put them underground.

April 20th, 2009 cp

It wasn't till I moved to Montana that I started getting these calls. The entire time I lived on the west coast we never got anything but local solicitors calling (rude people wanting donations for supposedly "police" organizations and such). Every time I don't recognize a number, I plug it into google and find it on one of these sites. Yarrrrrrrrr!!!!

This one was more irritating and ridiculous than most. My answering machine picked up, and I could hear the pre-recorded message going at the same time as my own answering machine message. It was something about an autmobile warranty, and this is my last chance to do something (didn't catch that part) or my vehicle would be reposessed or something like that. It gave me two options - press one to speak to an agent (last time I did and just pressed a button and held it for a minute before hanging up) or press 2 (didn't catch what would happen then either). Then a long silence before my machine stopped recording. Just fyi, I own both of my vehicles outright and they are both more than 10 yrs old. No warranty whatsoever.

The phone company couldn't identify the location of the call I received this morning. When I dialed the number back I was told it would cost me seven cents a minute and then the message came on that the number was unavailable to outside callers. Can't these calls be stopped by someone or is it a ruse to dupe innocent people out of money. I would advise anyone who receives a call from this number to hang up immediatly. Also, no company name is mentioned in the "canned call".

Got three calls in the last two days from "New Brunswick" regarding: "Warranty is about to expire" then two with "This is an important call about your credit card-- we can lower your interest rate"!

I'm assuming they are calling from Canada where the "do not call" lists/laws do not apply and where they can call whenever they want.

I pressed 1 to speak to an operator, and as she came on and tried to figure out how to reply to me, I asked her to remove my name from their lists-- and she hung up on me before I could finish the sentence.

Best thing to do if they keep calling is to press "1" so that you engage an operator-- as this causes useless answering work for them-- just as they cause us useless answering of their unwanted calls. Payback's a B!

The call was about lowering credit card interest rates. Have also received calls about expired car warranties form this number. Seems to be an all-purpose Scam line. Don't bother to press "1" or try to tie up the line. It automatically hangs up after about 10 seconds of non-response.

They don't leave messages. And if it's the "last chance to lower your credit card rates" people. I already informed them I am on the Federal Do not call list. Ditto the "last chance to extend your automobile Warrenty" people. Therefore, they are in violation of the U.S. law stopping such calls. In Michigan, that's a $500 per call fine after I've warned them not to call. Guess I'm taking note of all calls from now on. I could use the $

Credit Card Consolidation, or so they claim.

She said she represented Account Services. When I asked her how I could contact her company she told me to go to hell.

I looked up the website for Account Services, and they have a link on their front page for telemarketing. They say that they do not use telemarketing and it is another company doing this.

I am guessing they are spoofing the Caller ID and using a made up name to prevent people from finding them. Since with a real dept consolidation company you would have to be able to call them back I am guessing they are just fishing for information for identity theft.

Are there many legit dept consolidation companies that regularly tell their potential customers to go to hell?

My girlfriend was under the impression that this call was coming from New Brunswick, New Jersey (not New Brunswick, Canada), and she thought it had something to do with one of my credit cards, so she would always hang up. When I got the call, I pressed 1 to talk to someone. The person answered, saying something like, "Have you chosen to receive a lower interest rate?". I replied, "I actually want to know who you are that you keep calling us when we're on the do-not-call list." That was it - the line went silent and the call was over. I called back the number and got a recording about it not going through (probably an outgoing voicemail from the caller and not a phone company error).

The automated message claimed it was about the warranty on the car going to expire, something like that. You touch-tone #1 it said to speak to them, or #2 to have your phone number removed. No company name was given. It's a scam, we own no cars under any sort of warranty.

It's a company routing their calls through a switchboard, so they can try and get you to consolidate your credit cards. They want you to get a "lower interest rate". By the time you switch over, you lose one to two months worth of interest anyways, which of course works well for them.

This is a company selling extended automobile warranties. When you answer, an automated voice says they have been trying to reach you several times. They then say it's your last chance to obtain an extended warranty. If you want one press 1 if not and they say they will take you off their list press 2. Even if you press 2 they will still call you. I just got a call and pressed 1 and when the guy came on and asked my make, model and year. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he hung up on me. It is not an auto manufacture it's an independent unnamed company. I am on the national do not call list and they are not paying any attention to it. File a complaint on these a** holes!

Almost exactly the same as David. A machine operator called and said "This is the Warranty Company" or "Warranty Service" and they had made several efforts to contact me, and that my warranty would be reclassified. So I pressed 1 to talk to a live operator. He asked me the make and model of my car.
I said, "OK, first, I need the name, address and phone number of your company."
He said: "I don't have that information m'am," (we argue a little) "the owners don't ... we are in Marietta, Georgia, it's The Warranty Company (or Service)."
I said: "What car are you talking about?"
He said: "The car you drive."
I said: "Can you look at your screen, and tell me the make and model of the car you're talking about?"
He said: "I just told you. The car you drive."
I said: "How, exactly, does it feel to be a criminal?"
He said: "I don't know, how does it feel to ..."
I hang up. Idiot.

Machine answered the call and recorded "press 9." This number is in Canada. If the call actually originated in Canada (or anywhere outside USA) the Federal Do Not Call Registry has no jurisdiction. Very clever daemon dialer! These things are getting smarter! Called twice in a row (as someone might do for an "Urgent" cell phone call). callerID claims to be from "Cell Phone NB". Let both calls roll to vmail. Message captured 3 seconds of silence both times (again, unusual for daemon dialers, which usually hang up before vmail picks up).

Second call came in approx. 20 seconds after first call!!! Almost had me fooled, but my computer was faster than the caller! It did auto-locate via google and found several entries for this phantom phone number. ;-)

Grrrr. of course I'm on DNC list. Seems we are entering into a "new phase" of telemarketing ?

They say press "1" to lower your rates...time is running out to do so..."blah , blah blah

Computer calling to offer to reduce credit card rates. If you press one you will be transferred to a sales person identifying themselves only as "Consumer Services" who will falsely claim they are working with your bank to reduce your interest rate. If you play along, you will eventually be asked your SSN and credit card number. If you say anything negative, such as mentioning the national do-not-call registry, they will wordlessly disconnect. On one occasion, they gave me the toll free number of HSBC 800-477-6000. When I called HSBC they did not deny or confirm that the call came from them. They claim banks are exempt from the national do-not-call registry.

Robo-call for the automated car insurance scammers

February 14th, 2009 Glenn

Automated Call from New Brunswick supposedly offering a reduced rate on my credit card (does not name credit card). The call states that the company has been trying to get in touch several times, and if I would like to get a lower rate, stay on the line. I called the number back but it is not registered. This, I think, is another scam.

A woman's voice saying: This is an important call. We have tried to contact you before. This is your last chance to lower your credit card interest rate.
She is a big fat liar. SHE (whoever the stupid pig is) has never talked to me. Yes, I get loads of this calls, but nobody comes on the phone. Just the idiot repeating the same message she has repeated for years and years. I'm on a 'do not call list' - and I don't carry any credit card debt. Why do they waste their time?

I am sick of these people calling my house, leaving voicemails about how this is the last time they will try to contact me about my credit card debt, as if an official call for a card company, not so. SCAM. My wife answered the call last night to ask them to stop calling. THey got very rude with her and asked why would you not want to reduce your credit card debt, she replied, maybe because we don't have any... she told them DO NOT CALL HERE AGAIN. Now, still calling, but when you press 1 to speak to someone, LOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG silence, then goes dead. Don't bother pressing 2, it says it will stop alling you if you do so,,,, not a chance, it starts calling you more often. How do you get these people to STOP callling????????? It is from the north, New Brunswick. SCAM, do not speak to these people with any seriousness other than for them to stop calling.

They have called us 10 times in 8 days. They are immoral at best. In an apparent effort to wake us from sleep, they call way outside business hours (before 07:30 and after 09:00), and apparently think such harassment is ethical.

They ignore the do-not-call list, probably because they think that taking a survey for commercial purposes (Arbitron ratings are used to sell commercial time) doesn't obligate them to follow the requirements.

Got a letter from Arbitron just a few days ago with a short letter and a $1 bill, plus the promise to call. And apparently they did last night according to the Caller ID. I didn't pick up but I guess they will probably be calling back if I go by what everyone else has written. I am also on the Do Not Call list.

Arbitron does radio listening surveys. They send you some packets, you write down when you listened to the radio for a week, they give you a couple dollars. Doesn't cost you a thing and they don't ask for personal information. I did a survey for them. Made a couple bucks. No harm done.

October 7th, 2007 Jason MI

I got a letter from Arbitron asking if I would participate in the radio listening survey, and the letter promised they would call soon... Boy do they ever call! Seems at least once a day.

September 18th, 2007 melody

called 6 times since the 9-14-07!

June 4th, 2007 abc MI

After a zillion ignores I finally picked-up this call - they said they were "Arbitron" and doing a radio-listening-survey and would I like to participate - I said I was on the "Do-Not-Call" list and for them to not call again, and they said they would remove me from their call list. Time will tell. LOL. Being from Canada, "New Brunswick call" on caller-ID, maybe they think they are immune from USA's Do-not-Call.
