The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want
my cell |
mycell calls from 7 phone numbers:
This number calls several times a day, and never leaves a message.
this no. is harassing my phone....i want it stopped or i will prosecute....i am to receive no telemarketer calls!
This says news keeps calling. I pick up, and they hang up.
There is no ''DNC organization''. It is a registry, no more able to actively stop junk calls than your grocery list can walk around the market and buy your groceries. It's kind of hard for the FTC to sue a telemarketer which has done nothing wrong. Periodical sales callers are likely to operate from an Established Business Relationship, which grants leave to call current and former subscribers. EBR does not apply as of Februrary this year if the call is prerecorded. Canned calls need express consent. You can bet that newer agreements with publishers will provide that consent.

Telemarketing Sales Rule
So the complaints about this number go back to 2007. People have been complaining to the DNC since 2007 and
yet this outfit still completely disregards the Do Not Call list. Doesn't the DNC organization ever fine
any companies like this? What a joke.
Annoyed, the spelling is ''Palisades'' as cited here before. You'll need to get those details right when you send your ''cease-communication'' notice via USPS Certified with return card. This is the method promoted by the FTC and many consumer watchdogs, and the only way to set a legal landmine, as such a notice is ignored at their risk of a lawsuit from you. You may already be due some payback if you can prove you've endured abusive or misleading treatment in an effort to collect debt.

its coming frpm 201-308-9271 and displaying ASTA FUNDING, saying they are palasades collections, telling a person that doesn't live here to call 1-800-414-9319
The person they are leaving this msg for is not us and I would like them to quit clg here.
I think this is a company hired by local newspapers who are attempting to get subscribers who have cancelled to start taking the paper again. My caller ID shows "News" and the calling started with I allowed my subscription to lapse in favor of the internet news.
Keep call me everyday for 3 months so make them to stop call me....
People deserve very good life time and business loans or just term loan will make it much better. Because people's freedom bases on money state.
STOP CALLING MY HOME.
Phone Carrier: Southwestern Bell - Mo
Line Type: Landline
City: Saint Charles
County: Saint Charles
I wish these assholes would stop calling and hanging up. Can someone stop these fools at phone number 1-636-925-1746 please?!?
These morons at Palisades Collection sent me a collection notice to an address I have not been at for 2 years, and somehow it still got forwarded to me.
If they actually had the file on the debt, they would know my SS# and would have pulled credit to get my proper address.
I just have to laugh as they don't even know who the original creditor was or what the actual default date was. They list Great Seneca as the "original creditor". This debt is over 5 years old and past SOL for legal collections, but they are too ignorant to see that.
Great Seneca is nothing more than a JUNK DEBT BUYER. Parasites!
I printed out all of the Rip Off Reports and saturated their fax machine with them, along with the info Bud Hibbs has on them and my f*c* off and die letter.
You have to be brutal with these lowlife as that is all they understand. Being nice is a sign of weakness they will exploit. Always hammer a bottomfeeder upon first contact.
Suggest trying 800-873-5648 or 866-230-8075. Leave a message on #3. Maybe they will stop bugging you and everytime someone calls them they pay! If you call their 800-414-8319 there is absolutely no way to leave a message if you call back. I am sure there are laws they are breaking in our country doing business this way.
I don't answer if I don't recognize the name.
I live in MA and started getting these calls yesterday; interestingly before this I was getting spam robocalls from a number only identified as "Oklahoma City". This number is on the DNC but is otherwise unlisted; very few people have it and I am extremely careful who I give it to.
mailbox is full. I called corporate and had my number removed.
Got a call from this #. Was on the other line. Called it back and the # is out of service.
Which suggests its some kind of scam.
I live in the deep south so not near Oklahoma or Missouri.
The number calls all the time at leased twice aday but when i answer no one is ever there, not even a machine.
I cancelled my Daily Oklahoman newspaper subscription last summer. About 30 days after cancelling the subscription, I started receiving calls from this number (it is a call center) trying to sell me the stupid paper. I told them no. It is obvious that the Daily Oklahoman is giving them phone numbers from their old customers. Last week the daily calls started again and they do not leave a message.
My number is listed on the Do not call list.
I don't know where these crooks got it from. They call me about 4 times a day then hang up.
STUPID. Can't these people get better jobs than ringing my cell 6 times a day?
Twice a day, no message
please remove me from the list....I know it's because I subscribe to the Daily OK paper and I also bought through a kid's fundraiser...this is the thanks we get for doing that? really?
any one knowe this number or what it is news 636-925-1746 thanks
These people call me everyday--several times a day even though I tell them they seem to deliver the paper to me for free despite me asking them to stop delivery. If their delivery people are too dumb to not give out free daily papers then you probably should not call me to try to sell me the dang thing.
They left a recording on my phone saying this is Palisades calling and needed me to call back. They said this is a passed due account and left the phone number with a reference number to called them back.
Call back number is 800-414-8319. My called ID shows the company as Asta Funding. I am not passed due on any of my bills and I have not been sent to collections.
Please make these callers go away.
It is so unfair that everyone is getting these calls and all the interuptions through out the day.
Lord Help and AMEN!!!!!!!!!!
Makes sense...this and another number have been calling incessantly since we canceled our local newspaper service. I flatly refuse to believe it is a coincidence.
Make them knock it off.....
This is the first time I've seen them call. I don't have voicemail and don't even answer that phone anymore, but I have caller id and I just laugh and laugh when they call. The phone doesn't even ring, it just flashes a little light.
The name was blocked on the Caller ID and the robo-caller never identified himself or the company. I suspect it was a wrong number, but I'm not calling back to find out. Not my debt. We don't use any credit.
Now it all makes sense - I signed up for a special with the Oklahoman newspaper (at Buy For Less) just a few days ago and now I get these calls - sometimes in the morning, at noon and late afternoon. No one leaves a message and hangs up when I answer. The people at the newspaper are morons and can't get their billing straight so it doesn't surprise me that they are associated with these halfwits!
I called the Daily Oklahoman and spoke to them about getting calls from the Pisa Group and they assured me I would not be contacted by the Pisa Group again. We'll see. I also told her if I was called again I would cancel my subscription to their paper.....
This number is the daily breeze calling to have me subscribe to the newspaper. I told them several times (more than 5) that I no longer live in the area and to stop calling. This has been going on for the past 8 months. Below is a list of email addresses for people at the daily breeze, oh ya and there are duplicates because I want them to see the emails. Please send you commnets to this list of people.

Calls with this number have been coming in every 5 minutes for the last 1/2 hour. Getting to be REAL annoying!!
Calls from "NEWS" for two weeks; called them back: "This is a call from your local newspaper...leave a message." "Mailbox full, try back later." I'm catching the call next time, and demanding they remove my phone number from their nasty list.
They keep calling but every time I pick up they never answer. Tried calling back and it went to AT&T voicemail.
Also you are automatically entered into the sweepstakes when you receive your credit card. Telesolutions tricks people into thinking they've been selected for the draw and uses that as a lead-in for their magazine offer (a 60 month subscription that can't be cancelled).
My friend was a closer at Telesolutions while I was a TSR. Basically the closers have to get the customer to pay ~$65/month for bullshit services like identity protection on top of their magazine subscription.
simple solution... we bought a temp newspaper subscription from a young man who was selling the paper to raise $$ for college. It was legit -- I gave him $10, and the Daily Oklahoman started coming. We don't read the paper, so, only a temp thing, to help him out. The 636-925-1746 is from a subscription service. I called the Daily Oklahoman back, and asked them to take me off the list, and they kindly agreed... they said it takes a phone call to get off the list. They told me I owed $9 more because papers were still coming, but, after letting them know that I had no idea that papers would keep coming, AND that I would be charged for them, the attendant agreed to talk to her supervisor about removing the charges. So, just call the original paper, and ask to be put on the Do Not Call list! :) Yes, the 636 # goes to a "full" mailbox....
Just got a call. Said st. Louis post dispatch but then i hung up
Thanks, Chad, for the explanation. I got a call on my cell phone today from 231-564-9876 ("not a valid phone number" when I tried to call back; Anywho.com says the number is from Kalkaska MI). The script was the same as Chad described. When the woman told me I would get a diamond watch and three magazines (which were not very well matched with the interests and hobbies I gave her), I said I didn't want any of these and asked what was the purpose of this survey. She apparently hung up at that point.
It is the PISA group based in MO. They are a telemarketing company that sells, renews and tries to upgrade newspaper accounts. They are relentless in their calls! I have reported/complaint them as I am on the DO NOT CALL registry and they harass me daily on the hour. BEWARE!
Getting calls to my cell phone everyday. I returned their call which they claim is to collect a debt. I live quite comfortably and owe no one. The first thing they ask for is your SSN in order to process the call. They all speak in broken English. I am on the DNC list and have reported them to the FTC. Let's band together and hope we eradicate them from the airways. What happened to the phone zapper they used to advertise on TV? Do we blast them with a whistle?
DEBT COLLECTOR recording, "...Thank you and we EXPECT to hear from you soon."
I get calls from these all the time, usually 3 to 6 times a day. I do not owe any money anywhere. Sometimes they call after 9 pm at night. This is a scam, do not ever give them any personal information. A persons best form of action is to never answer a call that shows 800 or 866 on your Caller ID.
Caller ID said "NEWS" and they hung up as soon as I answered.
Yeah they've been calling me for over a year now at least 3 times a month. I followed the prompt which was suppose to remove my number from their list but they still call. I also get 2 other scammers calling me every month too. Very annoying! I'm wondering if it's from using 1-800-free-411 or ticketmasters text update. Did anybody else use these services?
If you are registered with donotcall.gov, please file complaints with this company - their calls are nothing short of harrassment! I have been on the Federal do not call list for about 4 years and never had a problem until now. All of a sudden this company started calling me weeks ago and I have been getting daily calls from them, sometimes 3-4 calls a day, even though I told them to stop calling me. Since I need my phone for business, and it's clear these people feel they are above the law and are not going to obey it, about 2 weeks ago I started filing daily complaints with donotcall.gov each time they call. I don't know if it will make any difference but other than file a lawsuit against these MF'ers I don't know what else to do!
I don't pick up on this number, but they started calling me about a week ago at all times of the day and night. I have been awakened at 7:00 a.m. and I have received calls as late as nearly 11:00 p.m. Who in their right mind would do business with these idiots. I have an unlisted number and few people have it. I would like to know how they got my number.
I've been trying to find out how they got my number in the first place. I first got a call from them NINE days after I got my phone. Some of my family members didn't have my number at the time. I told them thanks but no thanks. 6 weeks later, they call again, but I ignore the call. Like someone who posted before, I can set my clock by them because they call at the same time everyday. FYI, being put on the do not call list only helps if their business is doing good. When times get tough, they will dip into that list. And I think that's technically legal for them to do so.
If you have a dark sense of humor, do what a friend of mine did: let them go into their entire sales pitch, and when they ask if you want to subscribe, say that you would love to, but unfortunately, you're blind. Their reaction is genuinely priceless!
Marvin Thanks for the information, Actually, just called and spoke to Liz Gaier herself and told her the problem. Since I find repeated phone calls and hangups without leaving a message a nusiance like most folks, however the buck stops here as I won't do any business with third party vendors or any company who is afraid to leave a message for whatever reason, It's just not very appropriate. Her staff is supposed to call me back, and apologised. PISA Group your rude change your practices.
Here is the link to get your number of the calling list. www.thepisagroup.com
They keep calling at all hours of the day and night, I have a small child at home and it wakes him when he is taking a knap. I called them to be put on the do not call list a the young lady on the other line was a bit rude, for lack of a better word...
said they were just informing those on my area of free coupons starting to be mailed or delivered each sunday - didn't try to sell and hopefully doesn't just start delivering newspaper unwanted and start billing me. probably probing for future calls to sell and start telemarketing me. don't want the newspaper. don't want the calls.
It is a company representing your local paper trying to sell you stuff.
They are calling for my stupid sister! I let her stay here for a while and told her to find her own place. She wouldn't FOR 3 1/2 YEARS! So I finally had to just toss her out. She used MY ADDRESS on her bills though and now I'm getting calls from tons of collection agencies and I'm going insane. It doesn't pay to help people who won't help themselves. She was told to never use my address bc I saw this coming. uggggggggggggggggghhhhh!
These people are pestering...i can set my alarm by them cause they call at 8:00 AM, in my opinion WAY to early...I will try calling the number posted by several others and get off their list...what was the point of the Don't Call Me List, if its not being shared.
no message left
I received a call from (636) 925-1746 this morning trying to sell me the Daily News in Los Angeles. I have written the president and publisher twice and hand delivered the letters, I do not want their papers yet they continue to call. Feel free to write her yourself and explain in very basic English that you don't want their papers or calls. I say basic English because apparently that are fairly stupid there.
Liz Gaier, Publisher and President

Please someone let me understand what is purpose of this calls???????????????????????????Folks, if you have idle time, you can seat in your back yard and count the pigeons....
very suspicious call.They call evryday.
They have called twice for a "June something", it sounds like.... which is not our name. We do not owe any money to anyone. This recorded message tells us to call this 800 # with a reference 155something (the message doesn't repeat the so-called case number). When I called the toll free number to tell them to take our phone number off their recording, there is only a recorded message that asks for my social security number to "expediate the help process." Why would they ask for a SS# if they give a case reference number? Sounds fishy to me. There is no option to speak to a real person. It deadlocks on the SS#.
After recieving many phon calls from said number and being hung up on, I also called them to tell them to stop calling my home. Messasge mailbox was always full. So I called the number given on their web site, 636-940-2200, and threatened them with legal action if the calls persisted. I spoke to a real person. So far so good.
These people are calling me too... but they are asking for my daughter's name and she is 7!!!!!! So they have the wrong information but will not stop calling. They are looking for some other person w/ my daughters name but will not believe it is us. I've now threatened w/ harrassment suit and filed complaint w/ state... that should fix it.
Thanks John! I called the number 636-940-2200 and asked them if they have been calling from 636-925-1746 and she said yes. I gave her my number and she said that I would be removed from their calling list. She wasn't able to tell me how they got my number though. I hope it works because they are calling me about 5 times a day and no one is answering when I pick up, and when you call back their voicemail is full.
big scam stay away,very rude
Number just called my phone I did not pick up, reverse lookup states: Landline in Tuscon AZ, Qwest Communications phone service provider, probably scammers.
I have had several calls by this number to my brand new cellphone. I tried to lookup the company that owns the number, but the only sites I can find are 'paid' sites, and I don't want to pay to find this company. I did however find out that the number is listed as being from Pima County AZ. I went to the Pima County Sheriff's website and filed a complaint against them. I suggest you do the same.
Really, are you kidding me? WTF!!! Who in their right mind would want a free trip to Mexico right now?
520-838-9995 called me at work on my work number, as soon as i hung up called my co-worker, called another co-worker 4 times eariler in the week. Message was in Spanish. I called back the number, recording was in English. Stated that it was a travel related call & that they would call me back shortly, unless I press 1 to be removed from their data base. UGH!! I wish these people would stop calling & trying up precious buisness phone lines.
This number has recently started calling me several times a day. I never answer and they never leave a message. When I Googled it, they seem to be a problem for everyone! What can I do? I already am on the Do Not Call Registry...
Daily Oklahoma SAID that they would take care of it earlier today. We received our SECOND call of the day from these "fine" folks at 6:04 PM. I'm sure it is computer error. You know, computers control people -- people don't control computers (or do I have that backwards??)
Interestingly, as I was looking at this site, a very terse man named Alan Crump called from the Daily Oklahoman! He acknowledged that the calls to my number were originating from their offices (or as result of our contact with their office). I mentioned that we were on a "Do Not Call" list &, lo & behold, he immediately said that we would be taken off the call list -- & quickly said "Have a good day, sir." & hung up. Interesting coincidence! Doubt that we will intentionally have any contact with their firm any more. Same ownership as local CBS channel 9. Might consider boycotting them as well !
I kept receiving calls from this number. I even answered and told the person on the phone that I wasn't interested in whatever he was selling. The calls didn't stop. I called the corporate number listed below in another posting and requested that my number be removed from their call list. We'll see if it works.
is there a way to report these scammers to the fbi?
I do not know why I bothered to register my numbers with the "Do Not Call Registry" This number and several other dont seem one bit interested in the laws.
Car warranty scam. I called Obama and reported it. He says that we all have to share in the annoyance. Then I called Bush and he said if the bastards were in Texas, he'd take care of it.
Received a call from this number on my cell phone. Unfamiliar number = I won't pick up, I'm too busy. If it's a real call, you will leave a legitimate message.
In my humble opinion, I DON'T recommend that people call these sketchy numbers back. I especially don't recommend that you push any buttons (ie. "1") if prompted. I suspect it keeps you in their system, because they know they've gotten a bite from you. These scammer companies have to know that we're smarter than them and are not falling for it.
Real companies do not (or should not) business this way. If you're concerned about one of your accounts or supposed "warranties", call the actual company that you do business with - not some unfamiliar scammer number.
I received a missed phone call... no voice message. Typed in there number @ 411.com Phone call comes from San Bernardino, CA. I don't answer #'s I don't recognize.
Called my cell but I didn't pick up. Dialed number and got recording asking if I wanted to be removed from their "preferred marketing list" to press 1. Didn't press anything. Shitheads!
This number calls my home 400 times a day. It is insane.
I also got a missed call from this number
I love you!
called my cell, and I didn't pick up. Voice message not left.
called my cell phone, but I didn't pick up figuring it was spam
This number called my cell phone , no voice mail left. When I called the number back the recording picks up and promts you to push one if you want your number to be removed from their calling list. I haven't pushed anything for now
it never stops. its a lie
This is the same company that has been calling me for the past several years. I've filed a number of complaints against them with the donotcall.gov website. I pay no attention to them. They are a nuisance.
this number called my son's cell phone for several weeks. when you call the number back its a recording which prompts you to push one if you want your number to be removed from their calling list. We did that and hopefully the calls will stop
Car warranty scam
I get this call at least 5 times a day. I did some digging & came up with PISA Group Inc.
Here's their contact page: www.thepisagroup.com
I called their corporate office & had my number removed--maybe.
Cold calling cell phones claiming you won a trip to Cancun. Same scam as Florida vacation scams. Don't normally answer unknown long distance numbers but this came in on the company cell phone.
Just some computer generated voice telling me I won a trip to Cancun - I hung up.
Some computer voice told me I won a trip to Cancun - yippee!! I hung up before he could get the next sentence out.
Unsolicited call to my business cell phone. Called back & a recording said it was a travel related call.
I received the same message, a strange voice (vaguely British accent, or perhaps computer generated?) that said:
"Hello. You just won a free stay in Cancun, Mexico. To claim your prize press 1 now."
"Cancun" was pronounced oddly.
I hung up. I wonder if they're compiling a database of "gullible" respondents who can be targeted by human callers later on.
Just recieved a phone call from same number, I didn't answer it. Can't believe that I was able to find a thread. Cool!!
This guy told me I had won a trip from Cancun. When I used to work in a small office, we would get these all the time, but it never came through the caller ID. Weird. If they call again, I won't be pleased.
The message told me that I had won a trip to Cancun Mexico. Press 1 to collect your prize. I Hung up.
This number is something in spanish and they called my cell number too. What happened to the do-not-call list anyway. This is crap and makes me mad.
This is the second time in three day's this party has Called my cell. Spanish noise in the background, some lady spoke in Spanish, I explained that she had the wrong number. The lady said I'm sorry. However someone called from the same number today. I didn't answer the phone.
Got a call it was all spanish.
It was my cell phone to
found out that its in tucson, arizona. they have the cell phone numbers of two peoplke and my family and its always the same prerecorded message in spanish, there has to be a way to stop these things!!!!!! AAAHGGGG!!!!
I did not answer the incoming call but did call back. The IVR system claimed it was "a travel related call" and "press one to be removed from our database." I did not do anything and stayed on the line. The IVR then requested my phone number and said if nothing was entered the call would be disconnected. I entered my number and it said my number would be removed sometime in the next 48 hours. Oh well, better luck next time!
I have been receiving the same call from this number a few times a week. Its always the same. Noise in the background and then a recording in spanish.
Its really starting to get annoying. Call is coming from Arizona area code.
This was the second time they called my cell. First time, I got (and hung up on) the Spanish message. This time, I didn't answer, and there was no message.
this number called. i missed the call but i didn't call back because i didn't recognize the #.
i got a call 2 months ago, a different #. It must have been an international call. someone answered the phone on the other line in their own language. they the 2 parties began talking. why did my phone ring? are their phone calls going through my private line? are they using my private line?
called my cell..........was half of a recordin in spanish that i could not understand due to quality.
PHONE CALL CAME IN ON MY CELL. WHEN I ANSWERED IT THERE WAS SOME NOISE IN THE BACKGROUND, NOT SURE WHAT IT WAS, THEN THERE WAS A MESSAGE IN SPANISH. I DID NOT CALL THE NUMBER BACK. I JUST WANTED TO FIND OUT WHERE IT CAME FROM WITHOUT PAYING FOR THE ANSWER. IT CALLED MY CELL PHONE AFTER ALL!!
Called at 1:02 AM !
I received a call from this #. Rang a couple times then hung up. I tried to call it back and there was a recorded message saying for me to enter my I.D. #. The name on the caller I.D. was Nobel Names.
They called my American Legion Post telephone which is a MagicJack operation. I Googled the number (there was no ID) and found www.all-encompassingly.com . One of the people there mentioned THIS website so I posted here. There is a LOT of good information on that URL if you feel like going after the idiots - Pisa Group.
warned them to stop. now it happens 3 times per/day and noone is there when answered
I recognize the name, Palisades. They are some sort of collection outfit. I won't be calling them...I filed a complaint with the DoNotCall.gov
Last 2 weeks i am getting calls atleast 3-4 times in a Day. when i lift the call there is no response. Is there anyway to stop these calls. Thanks.
Called claiming to be with my local newspaper. Tried to sell me a subscription
Well i am unfortunatly a victim to this fng scam... I had a small bill that my medical office forgot to bill me and it went to collections after i pad the bill i get a call from this palisades collection agency.... Stupid me thinking it was about my medical bill i had to pay ( which was paid), ended up putting my social during the automated prompt not thinking this might be a scam. A representative picked up the phone and i asked them why they where calling me, he asked me if i was calling from the number they where calling and when i said yes, they asked me if i was a person named dennis which clearly isnt my name lol. rep said ill take you off the list and hung up. After the call i was like wtf i cant believe i just put my social in the auto mated system looked on line about this number in google i cant believe the amount of people that are being called by these guys... Any suggestions as to what i should do if i put in my social ?
Just started receiving several calls a day from this number but never any message left (just opened line on answering machine) and noone there if I answer. After googling number and finding this forum, I decided to call my two local newspapers in Tampa (St. Pete Times and Tampa Tribune). I discovered that the St. Pete Times does not use outside telemarketers but the Trib does and a rep at their circulation department confirmed that they used the PISA Group to telemarket. He took my number and said he would have it removed today and calls should stop within 2 business days. He also gave me his full name, phone, and email address to contact him Monday if I still get calls this weekend. So my advice is call your local papers directly and just ask if they use the PISA Group. If the person doesn't know, then ask for a supervisor to find out. I'm hopeful given the response from someone local. Good luck!
The recorded message was something to effect of your cable bill is about to rise again to hear our new satellite promotion press the 1 key. The a guy with satellite promo deals picks up. He said his name was Barthume Smith ID#69420 his bosses name was Kenny Smith ID#42960 he gave me a call back number which is 1-800-356-9377 which turns out to be a flower shop
This number called me with an automated message wanting me to setup some satellite service. I wasnt able to get a live operator
They refuse to take me off the caller list and continue to call me back to back
We have rreceived several calls from this number and even when we answer, no one says anything on the other end.
Can't understand the automated message because it's in Spanish.
Palisades has been calling us for years. We do not have outstanding credit. Our credit is good. They want someone else and they are following us around, continuing to call at all hours several times each day with a recording. How do I stop them. My number is now unlisted, they still got the new number.
This was a solicitation from The Oakland Press, a local paper. We have asked them repeatedly to stop calling us since canceling our subscription over 6 months ago.
I canceled my Daily Oklahoman subscription a month ago and started getting calls from this number. They never said anything when I picked up the phone. Its annoying and rude. This number keeps calling 2-3 times a day.
I think it is with the Minnesota Star Tribune also. My subscription expires next week and I have been getting constant calls from them... never leaving a message...
Same type calls as previous comments, they are unanswerable as the caller hangs up immediately upon answering. Based on info from previous comments, I sent a stiff email directly to the Publisher of my local newspaper (St. Louis Post-Dispatch) inquiring if the newspaper was responsible. I promptly received a response from the "President of St. Louis distribution services", who confirmed that they employ The Pisa Group to contact customers about "special opportunities" and offering to place me on a No-Call list. I of course replied with my desire for that to happen, and also passed on my opinion of how productive such annoying marketing efforts are likely to be. Hopefully that ends the matter.
Pisa group has called before for the Oakland Press and I have told them before I don't want it. Any newspaper that hires out of state telemarketers when we have over 8 percent unemployment in Michigan will never get my business
These people just called me. It's Sunday morning, it was barely 8:20, and I went to bed late last night. They call at least twice a day, and it's always at the wrong moments. I finally just had to add them to my screened caller list so that the call won't even come in any more.
Plus, I tried to call them back just now, and the pre-recorded message says that their office isn't open and to call back between normal business hours Monday through Friday. How is it fair they can call me on the weekends, but I can't call them back then?????
If you go to clarkhoward.com, there is info on what you can do to stop them and what your rights are if they don't. He is also on some talk radio stations.
Selling subscriptions to the Oakland Press (MI)
yeah this number calls me several times a day. noone ever responds when i answer, they just instantly hang up. ERRR!!! how do you stop the madness?
These morons call both of our landlines simultaneously, as I usually have a remote phone for my wife's line, and it'll be the day after doomsday before I give them any information at all.
The law is that collection agencies can't call before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m., not 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., as some people believe. See what the laws are regarding debt collection on the Federal Trade Commission's website, www.ftc.gov. Another good website for info on this is www.creditinfocenter.com. If you can find out which collection agency is calling you, you can write to them insisting that they stop calling you and they must stop or you can sue them in small claims court. You should also file complaints with the BBB, the FTC and your state's attorney general's office.
Two calls today, and just about everyday for weeks now. They NEVER leave a message, and NEVER respond if I answer. I subscribe to 2 Florida papers, and have complained to them, but they say they have no idea who is calling. The website for this outfit's staff is: www.thepisagroup.com .
I keep getting calls from this tribe, looking for the folks that had my # 9 years ago. They moved & left bad debts from coast to coast.....I have returned calls per their message instructions & tried to explain that I was not the person they are looking for, but apparently they don't believe me.....& keep harrassing me......idiots!!!
I sent an email to the PISA group and asked to be taken off the call list. Other companies have lost multi million dollar law suits for automated dailing systems. ADT just recently lost a big one. If after my email I still get calls I'm going to file. Why not???????
"NEWS"....called 4-6 times daily in Minneapolis. No message. Annoying.
If you are being harassed by the 636-925-1746- number as I was, do what I did: contact their Call Center Representatives directly and ask to be removed from their call lists! Each representative is pictured with their phone numbers and email addresses listed at www.thepisagroup.com FIGHT BACK!!!! This company is The PISA Group.
This number calls me at least twice a day EVERY DAY. I called and after tons of menu options, got a live person. When I told him that I was absolutely, positively debt free, he asked my phone number and then said something like "Christina Benson", I said no that is not my name and he informed he would take my number off their list. Two hours later, at 7:30PM, the number calls AGAIN. I have reported them to the do not call registry twice. We'll see what happens
called a government cellphone, answered, explained, they still wanted to sell the subscription....
here is a web site www.thepisagroup.com
I used to work for this company. It is a newspaper solicitation company. Telemarketing.
call, I answer, they hang up....my caller i.d. says "NEWS"
This service that is calling us after cancelling our local newspaper The Lexington Herald Leader in Lexington Kentucky, We have told the company several times to take us off the call list and they continue to call and become rude about it. This has been going on for several months.
Lexington Herald Leader newspaper wanting to sell the paper
they have begun to call every day.
Called this number back and female voice says "We represent your local newspaper." The voicemail box is full.
JUST LETTING EVERYONE KNOW THAT THIS NUMBER CAN'T BE LEGIT
I have received several calls from these people within the past month. if I pick up the phone, I just get a dial tone. If I let the answer machine pick up, I get a recorded message, telling me to call an 800 number. I haven't taken the time to do that, yet, but will have to, in order to get them to stop calling...I have no bad debts; They are trying to reach the folks that had my phone # 8+ yrs. ago & have a string of bad debts following them, here in Washington IA. (see my earlier post)
This is a collection company. I had no outstanding debts or bad credit so I called the toll-free number. When it got to the place where it asks for your 9 digit social security number I dialed "0". It gives you somemore options which I chose "5" to talk to a real person. They asked the telephone # that was being called. I told them and they gave a name I had never heard of. I told them no such person lived at the number and they apologized and told me that my number would no longer be called. Let's just hope that that is true!
I got a call on a Sunday morning. The message left on my recorder said; "this is not a sales call, please call Palisades immediately. They open M-F from 8 to 8 EST" I did not call or will call because I don't debt on collection with any company.
I can ditto what the last person wrote. It is pretty annoying to continually get these calls...we have a dedicated ring for my fax machine (which I need for work). These calls as well as those from "800 Service" seem to be coming in on my fax number. I have listed it with the Do Not Call list but that doesn't seem to be working. I have also reported them to the Do Not Call registry. I hope they get booted out of business soon.
They call at least once a day. Today I called them to tell them to stop calling as we have no debts. The automated answering asks you to put in your social security number. Right. How stupid do they think I am? But how can one get them to stop calling?
I get calls from this number; I realize now that they are looking for the folks that had my number over 8 yrs. ago. I have received many calls from other collection agencies looking for Bill & Chris Henry in Washington IA. They left huge amts. of unpaid debts 10 yrs. ago in this area. I was the lucky one that got their old phone # !!..& yes, I asked the phone company if I could get a different # & they said it would cost me $110 (7 yrs ago) to change my number.....&&&& they could not guarantee that the new number would not have a bad history also........
They keep calling & never leave a message! I have been on the National Do Not Call List since it started. Very annoying.
Caller id says "NEWS". Never leaves message. Started receiving calls February 2008.
The newspaper thing is true- to get off the list go to there website www.thepisagroup.com and pick one of the people to call. I just picked the first lady- should be off the list, plus I really wanted the personal satisfaction of calling THEM without permission. I am also filing a complaint with the DO NOT CALL registry, since I am on it.
Another in the series of unknown callers I'm receiving. Am getting a LOT of these 866 or 877 prefix phone calls. There is never anyone on the line when I answer, so am not sure where the scam enters the scene. Does anyone know of a real, reverse caller ID online? I always get Intellius which wants to sell me a bunch of crap services I don't want. I just want to know who is calling me!
Palisades. Call 2-3 times a day with recorded message that it's not a sales call.
These people call after 8:30 pm, we don't have any outstanding debts or credit cards.
nice comments. what is everyone going to do now. u wish those calls were made that often. you guys smell lawsuit!! cracky with cash. i'm in!
what u want
This caller called me and when the answer machine picked did not leave message
They called three times so far today. I only p/u caller I know or will return call to messages left. With all the scams going these days that even get you if you just p/u the call, nope, no way.
You people need to pay a little more attention when you're on the phone. You don't win the s/s you are only entered. You have a choice whether you want the magazines or not. Some people out there still read magazines you know. You do pay by credit card but these days what services really give you options when you're paying for something from another country. As well if the person who worked at telesolutions would have stuck around a little longer as any job requires you to to be promoted. You would have found all this out. If you want some information. Call a magazine company and ask them who they get to sell their mags, when their sales drop. A company couldn't stay working if they were fraudulent (as you and many others have on the news). Customers complain when they don't pay attention to the rules of subscribing. Everything is explained in full description. From a person who has worked at the company for many years!
They call me generally every four days but for the past three days it has been everyday between 9:19 and 10:19,Im am in school during this time and its really annoying im not old enough to buy anything they are selling, or to have cancelled any newspapers or magazines! If i try to call them back the phone just rings and rings
They call several times a day. They never leave a message. I have a feeling it's for the Daily Oklahoman.
Class action suit would control these jerks. This is the best site for that very thing! No Guts no Glory. www.lawyersandsettlements.com
i've been getting calls for the past two days from this number. if i call back it's busy or they don't answer. the one time i was present when the call came in it stopped after about two rings.
with comments stating it is the pisa group, newspaper subscription telemarketers, i did a search and came up with this website of theirs with their staff phone numbers. maybe repeated phone calls to them would help. www.thepisagroup.com
Looked it up online, said it was the pisa group inc. I called them and asked to be placed on the do not call list, But i've still gotten calls for the past three days!!!
This number is always calling my home from early mornings to late nights I have picked up and nothing and then a click then when I call back I get nothing it comes up on my caller ID as NWSPR that I have no idea what it is and its in MO and I reside in CA! It freaks me out!!! like one of them crazy movies!!! it's like a never ending thing with this! How can we stop it and how did they get my number when Im not listed & Im on the dont call list.
I keep getting this call on my office number. Once the message was left in spanish. From then on the message has been "This is not a sales call please call pallisades at 800-414-8319". I haven't called so far.
Just got a call from this number tonight...caller id showed it as NWSPR. Hung up when I answered. I know it's a MO number and I'm seeing a lot on this board about the Oklahoman newspaper. I'm in Ventura, CA...but I signed up for our paper yesterday. Weird.
Called but hung up when answering machine went on. I called it back, but no answer even after ~20 rings. The next time I'll answer and push the pound sign a billion times - I heard it screws up their system... I hate telemarketers!!
Call was from the Daily Oklahoman - told me they wanted to give me 4 months worth of the weekly paper for free since I was a Sunday subscriber - when I said no thank you they were VERY pushy --
Don't know the number disconnect it.
It appears that your local newspapers use this company for newspaper subscriptions. Call the Customer Relations department for your local newspaper and let them know and hopefully they will stop them from calling.
They call several times a day and never leave a message. If we answer, they hang up. They are driving me crazy!
you would think after months of 'them' not reaching anyone (i never answer this call) that they would remove us from their list. oh well. annoying, yes.
First of all, make sure you are registered, then report. Repeat every single time. Soon, it'll hit them in the budget, and they will stop or go bankrupt. www.donotcall.gov
We constantly get calls for the person who had this cell number. He must've been from MO, because a telemarketer from MO wanted to know how his newspaper subscription was working out.
When the situation was explained, the person calling wanted to send us a "free trial". I suspect this is to get personal infomation for a mailing list. No thanks.
Called my local newspaper after months of harassment from the company. They seemed to know what I was talking about and said they would remove me. This is not enough! Something has to be done about this company and the way they conduct business. I can't count how many times my phone rang late night and early morning only to wake my newborn with no one on the line, or worse, someone hanging up after I answer! I could hear them on the line!! You can't set a call block with a cell phone and it only comes through as the number. Companies like this make me sick. I hope the owners go bankrupt and all the employees making these harassing calls lose their jobs. Scum like this ruins company's reps. I will NEVER subscribe to the Herald Leader again if only for their cohorts.
For a while I received calls from this number and caller ID showed it to be Pisa Group Inc. So I reported it! They are still calling but now the caller ID says NWSPR. Is there any way to get them to quit calling????? When I see it on caller ID I just let the answering machine get it and they never say anything they just hang up. They call mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Don't they get the hint since I NEVER pick up the phone.
Rang 3 times, I answered but no response to my "hello"-
I am getting sick of these calls. I report it to the donotcall.gov . I never have subscribed to the Daily Disappointment.
Just joined today...although I expect to have quite a few comments with my "new" phone number...10 days old...and approx. 40+ unrecognized 800s and "UNKNOWN NAME", and "UNK NO", hangups, and more bogus calls for which I'm certain I will learn the slang for the description. This was just the 1st one!
keep getting calls from the pisa group - which i have asked to be on their do not call list in the past. they are pushy/rude and trying to solicit for the daily oklahoman. when i call them back it is always busy. i called the oklahoman today and told them - they weren't much friendlier and "supposedly" put our number in the do not call list. The experience has definitely contributed to a negative view of both companies.
This is a telemarketer (Pisa Group) that was calling me to resubscribe to the The Oklahoman Newspaper. Not sure if they are legit or not? I was nervous about giving them any credit card information, since they were based out of Missouri.
they called me on my cell phone I tried to call back and no one answers.
call all the time after subscribing to newspaper
I work for oneof these companies. When you don't hear anyone on the other end it is because the dialer has hung up before a tsr was connected to you. An easy way to make sure you are not contacted again is to find out what company is calling and email them to remove your number. If you have done business with the newspaper in the last 18 mos the newspaper gives the company your number to call.
Calls all day and night, caller ID says it belong to SHOA.
Calls all the time, ID says it belongs to SHOA
Call's all day,more than once a day.
I answered once and they ask if I was cutting coupon from the newspaper, trying to see the paper.
