The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want
just the phone number |
justthephonenumber calls from 9 phone numbers:
Did not answer.
found on caller ID 9:07 AM
Another call on my cell phone. Obviously, the DNC and the FCC are both totally useless.
tried calling back...auto answer - mailbox full unable to accept any messages. Wish gov would catch these jerks.
Got a phone call (3:03pm) from an out-of-state number that I didn't
no message but from Washington dc
another robo call claiming I won a free cruise..reported to DNC registry, as I usually do and added their # to my blocked callers list, I give them a week, they'll find another number to call from :(
No message left
Called after we had gone to bed. Unknown caller. ID DC, USA
got call at 202-465-5586
read Dist. of Columbia 7:15pm.
Robo-dialer calling numbers -- can detect voicemail and answering machines, and hangs up unless it detects a live answer, in which case you get switched to either an automated/recorded message, or sometimes a live scumbag - er - person.
Never follow their "opt out" instructions, either, as this only confirms your number is active, and will get you added to other call lists.
You have won a free cruise!
No message on machine?!?!
This is a good charity, but as I tell all of the ones that call, I don't donate over the phone EVER. It's too hard to tell the legit charities from the scammers, and it just encourages them to call back over and over. I'd recommend looking up your local chapter online and making a donation to them instead.
CHARITY DONATION CALL
Says "Toll Free". Called back and got a recording saying that they were charity, blah-blah, and to stay on the line to be added to their internal do not call list. Left my phone number and said to put me on their internal, company-wide do not call. We'll see. Felt good to yell at them a little.
Toll Free Call = we don't answer, so go away.
No one there.
The DNC registry is quite useful within its scope of sales callers. Charities are exempt as they are not included in the FTC definition of ''telemarketing''. This was not kept secret when you registered your numbers.
As a commercial fundraiser MDS does not share the same protection as its clients. The FTC rules say: ''... if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000.''
If the experience of GinaC is typical, you might have to turn up your volume on paper. Send a cease-comm notice to the fundraiser via USPS Certified with return card. It need not say more than to stop calling and writing whatever numbers and addresses you want protected. It couldn't hurt to also contact the charity group and tell 'em what you think of its hired gun, then file complaints with the FTC and attorneys general in all concerned states.
I am on the useless DO NOT CALL list, which is just a big joke. Don't call me and I won't call you.
this number has called me three times today alone, one at 11:50am again at 12:52pm and again at 7:35pm I am tired of these calls I am on the do not call list and want them to stop, please help!!!
If you call the number back you get what sounds like Citi Bank asking you for credit card info. DO NOT GIVE AWAY YOUR PERSONAL INFO. I called citi bank and they said they are not related to that number and it is a fraud.
I've heard MDS raises for some pretty questionable organisations. How are we to know whether this is for the real Habitat for Humanity? Also, it's been my experience that if you give money to one telemarketer then others will swarm you like seagulls after a scrap of bread. I'll go to the HfH web page on my own, thanks, and NEVER give to ANYONE who calls on the phone.
2 rings and I answered line was dead. Charity?? well hanging up won't get any donations.
I guess I just have a few more things to say before I move on about Leroy F's comments---when I did those projects for Habitat--I was doing it as part of a group of folks at a church I attended and along with our group--on the projects we worked on--there were groups from other churches of all denominations and faiths ranging from non-denominational independent churches, to Southern Baptist, Catholics, Unitarian Universalists, Jewish and even some Muslims with everyone working together to help those individuals or families to get a nice home--and the person who gets a home--does go through a long process of qualifying for the the home in a number of ways and then they have to help with the building as well. What those folks who come to build those homes are doing is very much in the spirit of what Christ and other religious figures were about---regular people helping out their fellow man simply because they want to help and expecting nothing in return but the thought that a good deed was done!! I would urge Leroy and those who feel as he does to get off their behinds, stop bitching about the things they don't like and get out there to help their fellow human beings who are not as fortunate, at least in terms of financial matters I assume Leroy might be. With Habitat for Humanity--this is not some "evil" government handout program---it is a "hand up" offered to folks who are less fortunate by those who have been blessed with more---and want to do what they can to help their fellows to improve their lot in life, I do feel that Leroy, in his ignorance not only slights the folks who receive HfH homes--he slights all those GREAT PEOPLE who do spend their free time in all kinds of weather to build those homes----people who were among the most incredible people I have ever met in my life and recalling back to those days--it makes me think I am going to go back and do some more work with HfH again this year---I guess I can thank Leroy for one thing----he got me motivated again!!
I might have answered this call if I knew it was Habitat---they are a great organization and do good work-I have helped build a few of those houses myself for some great people who just either happened to never have had much money or worked hard but in --fell back a bit in life---to Leroy--how lucky that you never experienced such dire straits in your life but believe me--it really is a matter of "there but for the Grace of God, go I!!" You need to have bit of humanity pumped back into your brain, your heart and your soul----you have clearly been drinking that "nasty attitude Kool Aid" that many folks seem to drinking today that holds that anyone who is less fortunate than you is somehow an inferior being. I bet that you never have had any sort of contact with those who have received Habitat homes. They do a very good job of screening those who might receive a Habitat home and with follow up work done by volunteers and such---the success rate of those who do get such a home is very good and HfH homes placed in "disadvantaged neighborhoods" have been shown via numerous studies to not only help those who have received the homes--but also helps to both stabilize and even to revitalize failing neighborhoods---the man knows not of what he speaks!!!! Sorry for the rant on this site--but when I see Bullshit such as this and nasty bullshit such as what Leroy said--I just have to respond and hopefully counter such crap by interjecting a few facts instead of allowing such nasty rhetoric to stand unchallenged. One last thing---does Habitat have a perfect record when it comes to their track record?? No they don't--but at least they do try to help improve things and they do it with to my knowledge---100% PRIVATE MONEY they do get via funding campaigns--so in this case---I would urge folks to consider opening their checkbooks and writing even a small check if it is at all possible---I can assure you---I have no relationship at all with HfH--I just happened to have helped on a few projects some years back and do think this organization does good work. It was well over a decade ago since I last did anything at all for and with them.
They have called us every day for weeks but when we answer the phone, the line is dead. There is never anyone there. We're on the "do not call" list but I guess this organization just "does not care". I would never give a dime to any organization they are trying to raise funds for. This is definitely not the way to get on my good side; all it does is make me angry.
it's ok, Leroy F - with an attitude like that you don't count as humanity....
Didn't answer because it was not a familiar number. Did not leave messages. It called my CELL phone number, though.
Caller just hung up. I called number back and got recording stating that I reached MDS Communications who call to raise funds for charity. I have received calls from this organization under several different phone numbers. I've requested to be put on their do not call list but this has not happened,
This number is from a third party Solicitor raising funds for charitable organizations...or so sayeth the automated message I got when I called the number back. I was given the opportunity to leave a message to ask to be put on their do not call list.
Caller ID showed 1-877-674-4282; I.E., NOT a real phone number. Hang-up call. MDS Communications???
they left no messg.
MDS Communications- call back to get taken off the list.
Called, left empty message.
Answered call on second ring...no reply and caller hung up.
How can I get them to stop?
Going insane with the constant telephone calls - when I answer I don't get anyone to answer back. I don't have a CitiCard - I don't have any deliquent accounts anywhere. How do we stop this nonsense?
They call several times a day, never leave a message or answer when I say hello!!
How do I get them to stop?!? I am going insane from these phone calls! How do I tell them to stop calling if nobody is there? And why do they keep calling if they are not going to say anything?
HELP ME! Ring, hello?, no answer, hello?, no answer, hang up. Repeat several times a day! I am thinking of disconnecting my phone.
AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I DON'T EVEN HAVE A CITIBANK CARD!!!!!!
This is Citi Bank they are not calling to give you your privleges back, they are calling to harass you. They have a "zero day late" policy, so if you are even a day late they will call back repeatedly even after you have spoken to them. Better to ignore them and send a letter to them asking that you are only contacted in writing.
Here is the website of MDS Communications: www.mdscom.com There is a link at the bottom of their homepage to have your name added to their DO NOT CALL list. It hasn't worked for me yet, but each time I receive a call I call them toll free leave a message with my phone # and ask to be included in their company-wide DO NOT CALL list. I also go to their website and do it all over again. May if I do it enough times they will get the message.
Stop calling me, I do not donate to Habitat for Humanity their purpose is to give revamped homes to welfare trash. Within a few years after the home is restored it returns to being a nest for human trash to reside and the house looks like shit again!
I have received calls from MDS Communications involving several different numbers. MDS Communications provides a complete array of telephone fundraising services for non-profit organizations. They are headquartered in Mesa, AZ.
THIS IS NOT CITIBANK!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT OR SSN INFORMATION!!
I don't know what to say about the reports above but I've received 3 calls from this number this weekend. When I called the number on my CITI card to ask what this was about, they transfered me to their fraud unit immediately and had to freeze both my accounts. All they would tell me is 1) this is not an authorized CITI caller 2) there is an ongoing fraud investigation.
I know that when you call this number back, it sounds just like the CITI prompts. Crazy. But trust me, if you've given these folks any of your personal information, please call the number on the back of your CITI card immediately and let them know.
Caller ID: KENTUCKY CALL
Caller: FRAUD: this is not CITI Bank!
Answered. They hung up.
Calls on a constant basis, leaves no message. I have no idea who this caller is and I don't answer numbers I don't know, my 'tude, if this call is impt. leave me a msg. and I'll return the call.
Your perfect data relating with this topic could make myself purchase dissertation idea at the thesis writing service or from the professional dissertation writing services. Thank you very much about this!
Phone was 1800 525-9241
Just called me. I picked up and someone told me he is calling in behalf calgary police. Told me there is hockey game in March if i want to buy ticket or help with donation. I said neither and hung up.
They just called my cell phone too & didnt leave a message! Im on the Do Not Call List...they got my # how?
They called my cell number...no idea how they got it. When I pushed 1 to speak to a representative I said "I don't know how you got this number but you'd better put it on your do not call list" then the guy responded "Excuse me? I don't have to DO anything, you can ask me" which completely ticked me off so I just said "Never mind then, I have your number on my caller ID I'll just report you" I was completely shocked at his response!!
I've received a call from this company about 12 times. I called them back and asked what company they were with, and they hung up on me. I've called back several times and they hang up on me when I ask to be removed from their calling list. Very rude, obviously a scam. I am on the do not call list, so how are they able to call me like this?
called my cell three times in fours with NO message
This number has called my cell phone three times today. It is starting to get very annoying. I amswer and they say something about reducing my interest rate. HUH?? Doesnt make any sense to me....no one ever comes on the phone.
Person whom answered was very rude. DID NOT appreciate the phone call on an unlisted cell phone!!!!!
scammers call informing you you've been selected to receive a better credit card rate but today is the last day.....press 1 for more information, 2 to opt out. This is a scam and they are phishing for credit card numbers. I actually refreshed my Do Not Call information and am still getting phone calls.....is this legal?
I just had the same experience as that described by Erika below: after pressing #2 to be taken off the list on previous calls, this obviously does not work. THis time I pressed #1 and talked to someone... He was rude in the same manner as Erika described, said that my request made no sense and replied with words that made no sense to me before haning--up. I was not able to get any information either.
Never leave a message call atleast once a week...Caller ID says Cellular Call.
My fiance got a call from this number for a whole week before he finally answered. It was an automated system asking if he wanted a lower interest rate to press 1. He did and then got an operator. He asked what company this was and all the guy told him was "they represent Visa". He asked again stating that didn't answer his question and wanted to know what company they are. The operator then hung up on him.
Obviously this is a scam. I never answer my phone if I don't know the number. If it's actually important they'll leave a message. I've noticed these scam companies rarely leave a voicemail.
I recieved a call from this number today. I was curious who this call was from so I used reverse look-up and Cythia Fenwick came up. I googled her and this site caught my attention. I did rent from Enterprise yesterday. I am glad that this forum is here to answer questions about strange calls.
Didn't leave a message, but I did rent from Enterprise Car Rental. Called Sunday July 5 2009 at 4:58 PM.
I got the call today but didnt answer it. its the first time they are calling me everytime they call i am use not going to answer
Your service, pricing and convenience is excellent I dealt with your location in Liverpool NY
Ditto. Enterprise rental on 6/11 (thurs). First call evening of 6/14 (sun). Second call late evening of 6/16 (tues). Here's a tip: If the call is coming to your cell phone, save the number as a new contact. On most cell phones you can personalize a ring for any contact. I had this girl who would call my cell at all hours of the night looking for some guy whose number must have been one digit away from mine. I saved her number as a contact and personalized her ringtone to "silent". Most phones have this feature. Check it out. Hope it helps.
Look. The folks defending the service call are jackasses. It is a waste of my time. If you want to use my time, pay me for it. The end. If Enterprise offers a $10 off for the call in the first ten seconds, perhaps you have a point. Otherwise, your customers are PAYING (in their time) for improving YOUR marketing. If every vendor adopts your technique, our evenings turn into nothing but checking phone calls from vendors trying to collect free marketing information and claiming it's just a little bit of our time. The price difference between Enterprise and other companies is not enough for this irritation.
enterprise survey call. left no message. called at around 5pm. called back and got a recorded explanation as to who they were and how they do not fall under the national do not call list because they're not a telemarketing firm. weaksauce indeed.
Yeah, I also rented from Enterprise and gave the number of the phone it called. And I also received the call late in the evening and no message was left. WEAK!
I also rented from Enterprise last week. I don't mind a customer survey call afterwards... but I DO mind getting it at 10:21pm!
A man has called several times to our number and asked for me by my full name. He has very rudely not acknowledged who he was or what company he was representing, but rather abruptly hung up each time once he understood that I was unavailable.
Calling our cell phones...won't waste our money picking up. Everyone should start calling SMT Direct with annoying questions like "Why can't you get a real job...McDonalds is hiring" or "Can I have your home phone number so I can call you at all times of the day and night with more annoying questions?". Better yet, call all the companies that outsource with them like Fido, Rogers, Primus etc...ask them for their home numbers too.
A lot of companies these days do follow up surveys to rate customer service and get customer feedback. My Enterprise person told me specifically that I'd probably get a call and they'd appreciate if I was honest. It's not a big scam or a breach of privacy, just business carrying out business.
you are so right average joe!!!!!
I get woken up every fucking day by these assholes 9:30Am. I grab the cell thinking its employers calling (looking for a job right now) then I see the 800 number again, same time everyday, 2-3 times daily, non stop, wasting my god damn time
Anonymous - If it was that important to your company, you'd leave a message. Otherwise, your call is nothing more than phone spam.
average Joe - Name-calling is NOT representative of a truly American "Average Joe".
...why are so many people afraid to just pick up the phone anymore? These guys are just asking how your service was. They aren't trying to sell you ANYTHING. This is how businesses get customer feedback in order to make ASSHOLES like you all happier. It's a 3 minute conversation, at the most, where they can address all of the problems you had or didn't have during your rental period. QUIT BEING SO GODDAM ANTI-SOCIAL AND HIDING BEHIND YOUR HANDSET! It's NOT a telemarketer!
I didn't get to the phone in time, so looked number up. Ironic if it was Enterprise, I just looked up some prices an hour ago (didn't book anything) for a possible trip next week. Didn't leave a message.
Caller ID showed number. No message. I rented from Enterprise last week. They have terrific customer service and I rec'd a good deal and a good car. I'll use them again but will ignore this number.
I too just recently rented a car from Enterprise and gave them my cell as a contact number...not sure I like the fact they are using a service I pay for to further their cause...
also rented a car from enterprise. Cant wait to hear what this customer service is going to be like with folks like Anonymous working there.
Merits research is calling me for a survey. If you don't want them to call to get off the list call 1 800 864 8601 do not call list. I am not sure if it will work.
All you people are the customers I hate!!!! IT'S A CUSTOMER SERVICE CALL YOU IDIOTS!!! It's so, as a company we can know if you were happy with the service and what we can do better. Servicing people like you suck!!! All you guys do is complain.....you should quit walking into a branch being pissed off all the time and trying to make everyone elses life miserable. WE ARE THE MIDDLE MAN!!! We are just trying to help you get transportation. We do not give phone #'s out.....ONCE AGAIN, IT'S A CUSTOMER SERVICE CALL. GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!
Interesting web site. Recently rented an Enterprise car due to auto repair. Woman asked for Mitchell so knew it wasn't a legitimate call. Told them they had the wrong number. Looked the number up on google and got this web site. Cell phone was already registered on Do Not Call list.
At least I used a Grand Central number (now Google Voice) so I can block this number from future calls. I was NOT informed that it would be for marketing or anything other than legitimate business use.
Received call on cell. Did not answer. Showed up as missed call but no message left. Rented from Enterprise earlier this week.
Had a service loaner from Enterprise 3+ weeks ago and just got a call from this number on my cell...
I answered and they hung up...
We just rented a car from Enterprise and I first off was upset because my insurance company is paying for the car, well they ask for your ID and proof of a Credit card. Well my joint credit card was lost somewhere during the rollover accident I had so I canceled my card right away and the only other card I had was my personal ATM with only $1.20 on it. The lady asked to see a Credit card so I gave her the one I had thinking she was only going to use it as proof, well the stupid lady swiped my card, causing me to have a $54.00 overdraft. I called Enterprise when I saw that on my statement and they reversed the charges and then my bank waived the overdraft. And if that wasnt bad enough, when I wanted to return the car I had to drive 2 hours away when there was an Enterprise right in my own town. They told me that the one where I live in Calif. is based out of Tucson AZ. and I would have to pay a $700.00 drop off fee. What the....so we had to fill up two cars to drop it off out of town, then I had to top off the rental again when I got there.
Then tonight I am sitting here and get a 204 are code number show up on my cell and I didnt answer and then went on the net to look it up and found this site. I will never rent from Enterprise again.
I recently rented from Enterprise. now I need to read the small print, see if i stupidly authorized these people to call me? ...this sucks.
When you call this number back you get a recording indicating they are Mara Research (or Merritt?). They offer an 800 number to call if you wish to have your number removed from their call lists.
Rented from Enterprise in Raleigh last weekend. Last time I will.
I rented a car from Enterprise in Calgary, Alberta, Canada last week... got this number on my cell's ID... googled it and this forum came up. What losers selling out their customers. Boo!
Also received call from this number. Didn't answer and decided to google it. From what I'm reading, it's a marketing company doing surveys for people who rented from Enterprise? If so, we did not authorize Enterprise to give them my cell. They ask you for a contact number when you rent and since most are renting away from home, you give them your cell. I just put my cell on the do not call list. The number is 888-382-1222. Apparently, telemarketers are getting cell phone numbers to add to their lists to call. Not acceptable as it uses peoples minutes. :(
No company name showed up, but I recently rented a car.
Rented a car from Enterprise. Got a call from this number and it said "Maryland" on the call display. Did I mention I am from Canada? What the heck?
didn't answer the call...i did reverse look up on 411.com and came up with a lady named cynthia fenwick at 3008 gallery pl., waldorf, md. there was also a google search that shows an obituary for the same lady from the same address last august. i just rented from enterprise last weekend and these idiots are calling me on a business cell phone. never renting from enterprise again!
Didn't answer the call and they didn't leave a msg but I also rented a car from Enterprise last week.
they called my husbands cell phone..he has never rented a car at all...I have, but I certainly didn't give them his cell #.
Rented from Alamo last week. Enterprise owns Alamo and National also.
Rented from Enterprise this week.
Funny, but I rented a car through Alamo yet Enterprise called me too? Of course I didn't answer, figured it was just another ridiculous telemarketer even though I'm on the Do Not Call list. Funny, but you have to update your number to remain on that list every few years. Shouldn't it be that you remain on the list until you decide that you'd like to receive calls from morons during dinner?
Mine too was from Enterprise. Not only were they late in picking me up, the car smelled of smoke and now they've sold my number. Since renting from them I've received calls from 2 other numbers selling junk or "lowering my interest", my number has obviously been sold.
Rented a car through Enterprise, then got a marketing call regarding the service
Rented a car recently. Missed the call. Enterprise Rentals makes sense.
I rented a car from Enterprise too. After this phone call, never again...
This is Captain James T. Kirk, commander of the USS Enterprise. I apologize for the irritating survey we are executing, however, the results of the surveys better enhance the Starship's ability to elude Klingon Space Invaders. Please comply. Kirk...out.
i rented a car from enterprise this week too. thanks for helping to solve the mystery!
I save the number in my contact list and assign it a silent ring tone, so now I don't even notice when they call. They can call all they want.
from the looks of this, i was lucky i missed the call
I rented from Enterprise. Irritates the crap out of me that they call on my cell phone. They had my home number but wanted a second number, now I know why. What punks!
rented rom Enterprise. It appears from this site that is most likely the culprit - I don't answer numbers only people!
I too rented a car last week from enterprise. This is unethical. I have a private number.
Returned a rental car from Enterprise yesterday.
Pissed because I had to use Enterprise for an accident that was not my fault. And now I get phone calls taking minutes on my cell phone for
bull **** survey calls that they don't haver the b**** to talk to you directly.
i see people saying rental car. just used one last week from national booked through hotwire--
It is a research company wanting to do a customer survey for Enterprise Rental Car. I rented from them last week.
stupid research questionaire people
I rented from Enterprise, turned it in last Tuesday
I got a call from this number. I am giving their number as mine to a Nigerian con artist who is trying to rent me a house he doesn’t own. I am telling him this is where I work and to call me there to get the cashiers check for renting the place. I suggest similar revenge.
Caller ID said Enterprise. Rented from them last week.
Got the call tonight, no message left. Rented from Alamo/National last week.
Just got a call from this number and did a reverse look up and got yes....same thing. Then I googled her name and found this. This is wierd but I too am going to let Enterprise know ( whom I recently rented a vehicle ) not to sell my information.
Caller wanted to know if I had rented a vehicle from Alamo on a specific date. (I had). However when I asked as to why he was calling me on a telephone that was supposed to be used only for emergencies, he could not answer. When I pressed the issue of why he was calling, there was silence. When I asked him why he was using my air minutes, there was no answer. I hung up!
Rented from Enterprise in Amarillo last week. Just got this call tonight. Won't rent from them again!
I rented from Enterprise last week and got this frighin call too. Really dissappointing they would do this. It was probably in the rental contract that no one can possibly read.
not for nothing, had I known Enterprise (which I rented from last week) was going to share my UNLISTED number with another company, I would have either rented from another company or not provided it.
Anyone have the CEO of enterprises home number so we can give it out?
Me too, rented from Enterprise
Just rented a car from Enterprise too; rec'd same call from this number. They didn't leave a message, but when I called it back it was the same research company. SPAM! If they are doing a customer satisfaction survey, they need to say so at the beginning of the call instead of Spamming-it-all-up and wasting everyone's time.
I just received a call from them as well. No message was left. I hate these surveys.
I rented a car from Enterprise too...TC's post about punching your number into the automated system does not work and is not even an option... A Scam!
we also got a call from this number today. rented a car from Enterprise last week. Will tell them next time not to put us in their survey-if that what it is. Call came in at 7:20 PM Sunday night. reverse look up still Cynthia Fenwick. Maryland. Will also let them know our levelof satisfaction at the time of rental and return.
Number is 800-864-8601 . . .We also rented from Enterprise
To remove your phone number from their system call 800-846-8601 and put your phone number into their automated system.
I also rented from Enterprise last week in MN - didn't answer call, no msg. left. Late call, about 7:00 in the evening!
wow i am in alberta Canada and they called me too,
Recently rented car from Enterprise
Just received a call on my cell from this number. Did not answer. Thanks to this site for providing explanation. Just returned an Enterprise rental earlier this week....
I just returned a rental car through Alamo two days ago...guessing from the other posts it must be related. Maritz/Merritts Research. They did not leave a message.
Recently rented a car from Enterprise
thanks for this site. good to know who called. i just rented from alamo and guessing it was them asking for input. thanks everyone for catching this before they caught my response :)
I just for a call from them also... must enterprise rent a car. they warned me about a follow up survey. ridiculous!
Called the number back. The company is Maris Research. They do follow-up calls with customers that use their clients services. I recently used Enterprise Rent a Car.
same, enterprise rent a car rental, who called me afterward pretenting to want to thank me. they suck.
Returned a rental car from National / Alamo last night (2/17/09) in Mobile, AL. They didn't leave a message.
Just returned a rental car to Enterprise yesterday (2-17-09)after a car accident. Now is this number going to start bugging me every day? Just started getting the calls this evening (2-18.)
Mystery solved by you guys. Thanks. Must be National Car Rental. Returned it in Raleigh yesterday. Is spam not good enough? They now have to spam-call me?
Ahhh..from reading the messages it must be regarding my rental return from Enterprise yesterday.
Missed a call from this number and no message. I also rented from Enterprise yesterday.
Same here. Returned my National rental last night and got a call tonight. I don't answer unidentified numbers and they didn't leave a message. Don't care for this kind of business.
Missed a call from this number - also recently rented a car from Enterprise.
Missed a call at 6:41 PM from this number. No message. I also rented a car from Enterprise last week.
me too.. got this call on 2/11 from this number.. cynthia fenwick was the reverse look up . i too rented from enterprise about two weeks ago.. must be related
called, i didn't answer, did not leave messages
Missed a call from this number Sun. at 8:48 pm. Had a rental through a dealership while having repairs done last week. The rental company they used? Enterprise.
Missed a call from this number - just rented from Enterprise yesterday in Chicago, IL.
I have been receiving the calls from 800-336-1352 twice a day, it is Fido calling to ask if you are satisfied with your service, answer the call, tell him you are happy and they will leave you alone once and for all. I just reamed the guy a new hole and he assured me that the call will stop.
Otherwise if the calls do not stop, answer the phone and ensure they answer, place the phone mic up against your fire alarm in your home and press the button... and presto!
Me too, Rented from enterprise this past week in Rochester, MN.
Same thing here, rented from Enterprise this weekend in Las Vegas. Thank God for this website!
Got a call from this number. Maritz Research was the name for market research, likely from Enterprise rentals.
I rented from Enterprise this past weekend in CA, and got a call Sunday eve from this number, when I was back in the Eastern time zone. I looked it up on line because I am a parish minister and need to follow up on calls. I don't mind emailed customer surveys because they can be ignored, & the source is clear. Thanks for answering my question about who it was from!
I had a rental from Enterprise as well ! That must be it ... It's Sunday eve though, they should be less bothersome.
Walter below in a comment explains what is happening. I wrote him an email as follows to let him know how I felt about it. See if you agree, then respond either by writing to him yourself or post your view here. We need to get this stopped before it makes our phones essentially useless.
Do you know if this practice is being used by other car rentals?
If it is, then this is a dangerous path to take, because they will have renters upset beyond belief. I rent nearly every week. If I have a problem with a rental, I tell them during the rental, whether it is a bouncing tire, no windshield wiper fluid, or whatever it is. I sure don't apprecitate getting calls after-the-fact. That rental is done!
If this keeps up, my phone will essentially become useless because of all the calls coming in that I either have to "check and ignore" or "answer and get no response or no message left."
Your clue as to whether I am happy or not is whether I keep coming back or not. You should pass this along to your supervisors and let them know that this amounts to harrassment and all they are going to do is make enemies, not friends.
from Merrits Research - consumer survey. I called back and the recorded message said that the call is allowed by the "national do not call registry" but if you want to be removed from the calling list, then call 1-800- (missing number from recording!!) _64-8601. How convenient they don't leave the full number to call back.
Since it is only one number, it has to be one of 10 digits, try all of them until you find the right one. It's a toll free number, won't cost anything to try it.
Started getting this call today, twice in 5 minutes. No message left. I have not rented from Enterprise for a year or more, but I rent from National all the time, even as late as last week. Also getting calls from 800-673-7963 several times a day, almost every day. If you Google that number, there are a lot of complaints about it too. Same situtation, nobody says anything if I answer, no message left if I don't. I am going to contact the Attorney General's Office and file a complaint if these don't stop. I am on the Do Not Call list.
Yep, Rented from enterprise on 2/2/09 to go to steelers celebration in Pittsburgh. Must be connected to them? Got a good deal from them on a 15 passenger van.
I rented from Enterprise last week, I rec'd two separate calls from this number. The first time I answered immediately and no one responded. The second time, a few days later, the call ended before I could answer. Weird way to do business if indeed it is Enterprise.
Call ended as I picked up. Enterprise sounds logical as I recently rented a car from them.
I just turned in a rental from national yesterday and got the call this evening.
I rented from National last week and received a call from this number.
I would agree this is Enterprise rent a car. I had a car from them last week while mine was in body shop. Never had call from this number before then. Probably a satisfaction survey or something as they do not leave a message.
Went to voicemail-didn't leave message. Rented car at Enterprise the previous week. Glad I saw this board!
Yes I just rented from Enterprise... I suppose it's them but it's 9PM why'd they call now?
Me too - rented from Enterprise earlier this week - fine service - then tonight my son handed me my cell and said I think you missed an important call possibly for a job. Again, another bummer!
Also rented a car from Enterprise and received a call from this#
Unknown phone number but I also rented from Enterprise last week. Thanks for all that posted. This helped me
figure out who it was and NOT TO ANSWER! Friggin rude mate. This happens again, I will complain.
I never gave the ok for anyone to call. Make sure you complain if you read this. Only way these
scoundrels learn is if people threaten to not use them because of these practises.
While my car was being serviced, they provided a car from Enterprise. Took 3 days after vehicle returned for them to call. The caller ID showed Enterprise. I wasn't home when they called.
Called and hung up when they reached voice mail. I returned a car to Enterprise on Friday 1.23.09, call came in 2 days later.
They did say they're from Enterprise, calling to check on my experience with the last rental.
I rented a car from Enterprise earlier this week. I concur it was probably them then.
I just got this same exact call and I didn't get to my phone in time to answer it but they didn't leave a message. I just rented from Enterprise this week and returned the car Friday.
national car rental to follow-up on rental experience
Alamo for me.
Had a call from this number today that I wasn't around to receive; Enterprise makes sense as I rented recently from Alamo, who I believe is a partner of theirs locally. I don't care one way or another if they call me but would rather they left a message so I could choose whether or not to return call (sometimes I don't mind surveys.)
Rented from enterprise 4 days ago. Follow up call.
I did not rent from Enterprise. But I did rent from Budget and Naional car last week. I used the 800 number 1-800-864-8601 to remove my name. They are skirting the law somehow through these rental agreements or something else they are using.
Called on my cell phone but didn't leave a message. Recently had Enterprise car rental.
whoever calls 800-336-1352 number is BULL SHIT!!!!I dont have more words.
Rented a car from Enterprise last week, got the call today from 240-210-7049... Maryland. How secure is my details???
Yep, must be Enterprise, I also rented a car from them last week. Same thing, called and hung up when it went to VM, no message.
Hi, I work for Enterprise. Recently I rented a car and got this phone call also. I wanted to let you all know that we do not call for any marketing reasons to sell any products. But rather to do a 2 minute survey to ensure that our customers were completely satisfied. This is done through an independent agency who gives us all the feedbacks from our customers. Believe it or not if the customer is not "completely satisfied" with an average 82% "completely satisfied" response from all customers in that month then all promotions from that branch is frozen. No one can get promoted no matter how much revenues that branch brings in. The only main and sole indicator for us to get promoted is ESQi (enterprise satisfactory quality index). We strongly believe that a "completely satisfied" customer will come back to us and not any where else. Our company ideology is "Take care of your employees and customers, revenues will follow". So when you get that phone call take a few minutes and give an honest response. That will ensure us the highest quality of service to you..... our customers. If you have any question you may contact me at email@example.com
The number provided 240 210 7049 is a company call Mara Research that want feed back how they got my number I do not know but I do not want to provide feed back
I also rented a car from Enterprise last week. They called, left no message. Called the number, supposedly, they conduct surverys.
It was Enterprise
I rented last week and the Enterprise Worker told me that they would probably be calling, so at least they told me that it was going to happen.
always call my cell days and nights! What the hell is that person?!
