The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want
Guthrie, | guthrie |
guthrie calls from 3 phone numbers:
Annoyed 1, these calls are targeted to website owners and businesses which probably doesn't apply to you. As for ignoring out of state phone numbers,,,that is very bad advise as websites are designed to reach buyers etc. world wide.. So if you don't want people to buy from you then YES ignore the out of state money calls, In fact ignore all calls, then you'll be sitting pretty and left alone to twiddle your thumbs. Just set up a call block for incoming call you don't wish to receive anymore,,, that simple.
they said press 1 to update your google 411 listing
Did not answer because I didn't know who it was. Tried to call it back and it said it was out of service.
who cares if they call. Why do people think the government is the solution. You know if people would stop answering out of state numbers these screwballs would quit calling and the problem would be solved. But nonetheless I appreiciate this site and all the input fromyou fine folks. cheers.
"Search Engine Optimization" spammers. A total scam.
If you want your webpage to be listed at the top of google, yahoo... blah blah. Press 9 to be removed from list (or at least that's what the automated voice said).
Thank you folks for all this input. Saves me time .
Solicitation call. Definitely was not the YMCA.
I wonder if the YMCA OK city, OK realizes their name shows up before this #?
They keep calling wanted to know if I want to keep my ad on Google. I don't have an ad on Google. I have pressed #9 several times to take my number off the list. That apparently does not work.
they call once a week & never leave a message
SPAM from Google. Second one in a month.
Report this number to the DoNotCall.gov web site. Shut 'em down!
29prime used to be Your Local Merchant www.29prime.com lists contact info, but your best bet is to FAX (your complaint in writing) to (949) 777-6616 or (949) 480-0727 The www.29prime.com does not seem to work at all, and neither does the Press 2 to be added to our Do Not Call list. on the pre-recorded message.
The business itself is crud. They find you on Google in the first place!

I hope all telemarketers die a slow death of cancer.
An autodialed call received on my cell phone. Some recorded message about increasing my visibility on search engines.
this seems like a scam to me - claimed to be google 411 used an auto dialer - gave fake names and fake address- seems clear - parent company may be digital marketing inc physically located in Irvine CA - 949-777-6622
29prime.com / Newport Beach Calif. / 949-777-6616 -- uses 405 area code (Oklahoma City) autodialer to dial based on Google local listings. The autodialer offers a choice to opt out, but it apparently does not work. It dialed me twicw today after several optouts in previous weeks. Laura at 29prime said that they can remove the number and took my request to do so 12/1/2010.
These guys call daily and don't leave a message on the answering machine. You'd think they would give up when no live person answered our phone for a couple months.
calls me every month, and in violation of federal law, they will give ANY info.... they just hang up if you dont want the google service...WHATS UP?
These ass holes called me on my cell phone twice this week. The last time was 15 minutes ago, there was no answer when I said "this better be good". Dick wads!
29 prime === internet marketing promising to put me on the first page on google.
Sleazy telemarketers YOUR LOCAL MERCHANT who will waste your time and steal your money if you let them. Complaints have been filed with the good guys - DoNotCall.gov, GoDaddy.com (the ISP they use) and Google (their claim of affiliation, a complete lie.) Hopefully we can get them stopped, unfortunately we will then have to fight whatever new scam these slimeballs run.
They called and asked if I was in charge of my company's Google Account, I said yes and asked them to hold- while I ran the number quickly. I came back on and asked for the name of their company and they told me they were with Google. I said that I worked for Google (I don't) but we don't have an office in Oklahoma City and that I needed to know what company they really worked for. The rep stumbled over her words a bit, the I heard her supervisor in the background say "just hang up". The line went dead. I doubt I will hear from them again.
These guys r idiots, a monkey could do a better sales call
SICK AND TIRED OF CALL HANG UPS. iT IS A WASTE OF TIME AND COULD KNOCK A REAL CUSTOMER OFF OF THE LINE. THAT COST US MONEY. ESPECIALLY IF THEY GET OUR NUMBER FROM AN ADVERTISING SOURCE THAT WE HAVE TO PAY FOR. SO, TECHNICALLY-STEALLING-2 COUNTS PER CALL-TAKE US OFF OF YOUR LIST OR GIVE ME YOUR BILLING INFO SO I CAN BILL YOU. YOU LAZY SLIMEBAL!!
Scam, says they are Google. Bad message quality, not able to return call.
Called me too. I didn't pick up the phone. Screw them.
I am simply adding to the list of the reports to say that these bastards called me, too.
called me a few min ago to get me on some google/youtube thing. ID said OKLAHOMA. Called back; number not in service.
missed call 5-25-10, no message, probably scammers.
no msg, phones at same time daily, if not from this number then DNC or California, or some other unknown.
I got a direct phone call from a person from this number asking how was in charge of our "google account". I knew that at the very least it was a bad sales call so I hung up on him.
Then ~20 minutes later the same phone number called but it was the automated recording with the "press 1" option.
They called me at 11:15pm cali time it was 2:15 ok time!!!
Be careful of this # they will try to scam you out of money, they sit silently to see whom may be vulnerable to pay them for WEB renewals.
got this too 2-18-10. one ring and gone.
Call ID show Okiahoma Cit OK, But you listing: GOOGLE UPDATE..push 1...BECAUSE don't in TRAP...
Ahhhh I see... someone got a message about not getting any PAY PER CLICK FEES. I thought I just got solicited by some Office Supply store who said I'd never have to deal with any PAPER CLIP FEES. The message was garbled but I'm like, why the hell am I going to pay for PAPER CLIPS??? Anyways... yeah, they just called me and I hope they don't continue to.
It seems like someone is always griping because someone doing something that violates someone else's rights these days. Well, it's my turn to gripe! These BUTT WIPES are violating my right to do business without having to deal with scumbag telemarketers calling. AND they do NOT remove my phone numbers from their auto call list when I ask them to do so! They say, "oh, we would be happy to remove your number" but they LIE!
I really wish the FCC would figure out some way to shut these jack rabbits down....unless, of course, there is a boiler room in the basement of the FCC main office building and that is where all of these calls originate from! If I ever find where these people operate from, I'm going to pay someone who has a St Barnard with a VERY large bladder go pee in their Wheaties and see how they like it!
OH!! I feel soooo much better now! Thank you for letting me gripe!
I just called it back and it said # not in service
They left a tinny, poor quality message -- something about an endless stream of clients.
Scam. Say they work for Google and they DO NOT. AVOID
This is a nuisance - I am on the do not call list and asked to be removed. They keep calling for solicitations.
Called my cell phone with a poor-quality recorded message to Press one to get lots and lots of website referrals with no pay-per-click fees. I didn't press one but stayed on the line. It switched to a recording saying something routine like when on hold at any number of companies, but then hung up on itself mid-sentence.
I called the number back, got put on a 3-minute hold during which I was updated regularly on what caller number I was, and how long a hold I had left (ranging from "one minute, seventy seconds" (yes, you read that right) to "15 seconds" (I got this one twice), then it hung up on me. Three times, I heard a "Thank you for calling, we will be with you in a moment"-type message. But the recorded voice sounded like a male voice but played too fast, so it sounded almost like a chipmunk.
Everything about these calls sounded low-budget. It was laughable.
Whoever they are, I should sue them for calling my cellphone just to put them out of business, and thus their own misery.
These people are flat out LIARS! They have NOTHING to do do with Google and are simply SCAMMERS!
In answer to the last post, they just want to STEAL YOUR MONEY!
Who are these people and what the hell do they want with me.
