Get about 7 or 8 calls from this number each week. Frequently just an auto-dialer with no one on the other end of the line, sometimes that a message is left identifying the caller as "Citicards". I called Citibank and they claim that this is not one of their numbers and on my own Citibank card I have been assured that they are not the ones calling me. I vote that this is really a scam.

Evon & Gloria Quinones have been receiving unwanted harrassing phone calls from Walter S. Lesley and Diane Marks for awhile not and we could not trace the telephone calls back to who they were. Evon and Gloria relizes that these two individuals are working with a net work of different people whom they used to contact us on our cells phone and also have been monitoring our computers system monitoring every search we are doing on our telephone and home computer system. They have been doing this for awhile, so
Evon & Gloria Quinones recently changed our telephone numbers and now we are receiving the same calls to our new cell phone numbers. Can you help us tract who these phone calls are coming from other than the two individuals we listed above?

Thank you for your assistance

December 21st, 2010 PM from N.H. VT

Called several times even on the cell phone and didnt leave a message...Maybe they are calling to say Merry Christmas! I'll give em a Merry Christmas..lol. Several have mentioned Zales credit card but I do not have one.I had a problem with this number calling me back in the Spring of 2010 and they eventually stopped calling. At one time I think they had something to do with extending a vehicle warrantee. So far they have not called at odd hours but they did call on a Sunday afternoon once.

December 1st, 2010 rosie CA

this is ZALES credit card but its turned over to citibank... they harrasses and harrasss nothing better to do then call 10xday....
i'm screwed because i was on one year hardship account with monthly payment agreements (all good) because i "forgot" after one year of automatic payments to call them back after one year to renew there program, now they wont let me back on but instead
call me even though i still make pmts...i have to call in, they will only 2 months at each time, plus charge me late fee, so it's like my pmt is thrown away...they will not work with you ... there f*ked.....
they even have there online payment set up where you cant make payment except always past due full amount.

Once a week they leave a message stating that they are calling from citibank and its not a collection call. I have nothing to say to them. And to Citicard. Calls from this number SAY Citicard. We called Citicard and they checked the number and said it wasn't one of theirs. The people at the number call DAILY. How dumb is that. How do you spell phishing. There is no human on their end, you are just fed a recording. It asks you to call a number and give your account number. Neither the number called from nor that you are asked to call is Citicard.

September 15th, 2010 Kitty TX

They've started calling again, presumably for this "Charlotte" person. I knew they lied about taking me off their list. It's a phone number, people, not an inheritance! I do not know this person and continuing to harass me will not make her appear!

They got the bailout money ( our tax money ) to help them avoid going bankrupt ok so now they are harassing me . I did'nt get bail out money, I didn't any of Citibanks tax money to help me with my bills. And citibanks stupid outrageous interest rate brought me over my limit NOT my spending their interest rate and now I have a $39 overlimit charge put on to my account... How fair is that !!!!!!!!!!!!! so you are adding charge after charge to my bill.. I am paying ALL my credit cards to citibank which btw seems to have multiplied since Citibank who needed the bailout money owns the charge accounts now for my mortgage from abmro, my sears acct is now citibank, my macys is now citibank ENOUGH ALREADY , and I have my checking and savings accounts there also...NOW I AM PAYING OFF THESE STUPID CARDS OR TRANSFERRING THEM AND WILL TAKE MY MONEY AND MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE...SCREW CITIBANK NOW. btw the reason they are calling is because I forgot my payment this month that was due 6 days ago that is why they are harassing me from morning till night ... its paid now but they will not do this to me again!!!!!!!!

January 26th, 2010 Joe Mama GA

We haven't got any CitiBank or Citi cards, so either this is a wrong number or a scam. My money's on a scam.

Oh, yes, and to LOL and the other lying collectors on here -- it's pretty cowardly to hide behind the telephone as opposed to sending registered mail so that your prey can have the opportunity to demand that you validate the alleged debt, as is their right. If you'd strap on a pair of nuts and send the mail, then at least you'd have an excuse for not validating the alleged debt once the alleged debtor didn't respond within 30 days. As it stands, you're just playing phone roulette in hopes that you'll get some ignorant person on the phone who doesn't know their rights and will send you money whether they actually owe you any or not.

my life was pretty good lately, telephonically that is, concerning harrassing scammers.........the worst yet was the breast cancer foundation or whatever and the next worse was the regular cancer foundation......the calls were so numerous i succumbed to cursing and threatening which fell on computer deaf ears anyhow . I told them that their constant calling was giving me cancer. Eventually i think there were enough complaints and they stopped. It was heaven .......now these creepy crawling pond scum from kentucky are badgering me and the whole process starts again i see. YOu all DO realize that we have terrorists right here in our country, who terrorize us mentally with these randome continuous phone calls for their OWN needs, certainly not ours. I dont have a citi bank account and never did. and my shell oil card is all paid up always......all we can do at this point is complain and eventually give up shell oil credit cards or citi bank accounts if we have them and reject this number on our caller ids (although the phone will still ring that annoying one time before it rejects ) UGH always happens this time of year..

Citicard for Goodyear. I know this is legit because I THOUGHT what i signed up for was no payment for 90 days in fact it was no interest for 90 days and I didn't pay for 2 months! OOPS!

So may not be a CITICARD, may be citifinancial.

Just an FYI.

November 18th, 2009 Debbie

This number is NOT a Citi number - it's a scam! They're taking a chance that you own a Citi card in order to get personal information from you. Then they sell that information to people who in turn will go on a shopping spree.

If you get a call from this number, HANG UP, then call the number on the back of your credit card to be sure you're really dealing with Citi.

November 17th, 2009 RL

One (of many problems) with what you say, LOL, is that CITICARD (which is essentially Citibank) either lies or is not able to accurately keep records. After some major medical bills in which I was unable to pay bills because of money and because I was in the hospital, I kept getting hounded by these people. They would not set up a payment plan and they would not reduce my interest rate. I basically told them that they are then at the back of the list; that they would get paid as quickly as I had money to do so, but that I was going to pay other bills before they were late and gathering interest and late charges. Of course, they threatened to sue, etc. I said, "Go for it; can't squeeze blood from a turnip; if you want to force me into bankruptcy so no one gets paid then so be it; out of my control. It turns out as I did a little bit of investigating once I was better and had time and energy to do so, I didn't owe them anything; they had mistakenly reported my payment to another account. People need to pay their bills, and I am. But the credit card companies are out of control. No matter how much they call and harass, I cannot make 2+2 = 5. What is really irritating is that basically you get penalized for trying to work with these companies. I stop talking to them anymore. Once I get one bill paid off, I take that amount and contact the next one on the list, find out how much it is and start paying it off. If they don't like that or the interest and penalties that they are making off of me then come after me. You can have my sub-compact car, my 800 square foot house and I will just go belly-up with the rest of them.

All of u know it's a debt collector. It's NOT Citibank collecting. It is a Collections agency that had purchased this debt and now are trying to collect from you. Debts are sold off and purchased by others as many times - pennies on the dollar.

So if the statue of limitations have run out in ur state, write back and dispute. No way to collect, they will sell to another agency. And so, this gets passed on from one to another.

November 5th, 2009 Lee

the whole debt collection is BS- they charge everyone the high interest due to the RISK that you may not be able to pay. That is the nature of their business and the inherent risk they accept when giving an unsecured loan- shame on them, I hope all the credit giants go belly up- they are a blight to our society- file ch7- and never look back- loose the credit- get our lives and money back!!!! Live debt free!!!!!

ROFL! I was just issued a brand new cell # for my business from Verizon Wireless and the first ever incoming call I receive within 1 1/2 hours is from these douche bags asking for someone named Scott... The 2nd ever incoming call I receive was from number 616.980.1254 asking for Scott, again! Gee, thanks Verizon Wireless for issuing me a supposedly brand new number which I specifically asked for to avoid this type of horse shit! The last number I had someone kept trying to fax me every few days! You know how irritating it is to receive a call through your earpiece and be suddenly assaulted by a violent & colorful blend of what I can only describe as a bunch of screaming electronic chimpanzees being thrown to a morbid & violent death via a wood chipper??!?! Lame... I called the number back and listened to a half-recorded message to remove my number etc, etc... They identified themselves as WCA, WAC, or ACW Clearinghouse or whatever, I think? Sorry Audio was really low and cut itself off... I thinking it's a collection call... PAY YOUR BILLS SCOTT!!!!! (A-hole!)

September 2nd, 2009 Kitty TX

I do pay my bills on time and in full every month. However, the people who had my phone number previously obviously did not. Citibank keeps calling, asking for someone named Charlotte. I tell them they have the wrong number, explain that I just moved here six months ago. They apologize and say they will take me off the list. A few days later, they call again. This has been going on for over a month now and they WILL NOT STOP!!!! Do they think that if they harass me enough I will pay this other women's bill?!?

July 20th, 2009 lol OH

Citibank is the original creditor and therefore can legally ignore cease and desist letters. Only third party debt collectors are found by the FDCPA.

July 19th, 2009 Sherri FL

I have sent a "cease and desist letter" via certified mail, which was signed for by Citibank, but this collector keeps calling me despite the fact that I have written and called them to advise of my bankruptcy filing.

July 10th, 2009 LOL OH

Oh and if the account isn't in your name & isn't a joint account, then you're not liable for the debt.

July 10th, 2009 LOL OH

Just answer the phone, let them know what's going on and set up a payment arrangement to lower your interest rate and stop the late fees. Also features a reduced monthly payment. I know there are circumstances beyond your control, that's why they have plans that go up to 60 months. It's better than ignoring them, because citibank is aggressive as hell and is known to file lawsuits at the drop of a hat.

July 7th, 2009 Better off safe

Not quite that simple, CITICARD, when he walks out after 20 years of marriage and leaves me holding the proverbial bag of debt. And what are you doing on here?? They must be calling you, too. So bite me.

July 1st, 2009 ITS CITICARD OH

It's citicards you dumb bitches. Pay your fucking bills.

June 30th, 2009 Better off safe

Yes, I am going through a divorce, and yes, money is an issue. And I didn't cause the mess, but he sure left me one to clean up. But if all that shows up in the caller ID is Florence, KY, I have no idea who it is and I am NOT going to pick up the phone. And if they don't leave a message I can't very well call them back, now can I? Too many crazies out there these days. And for a woman living alone with a child, I'm not stupid enough to put myself in harm's way for a couple of dollars. Yes, my credit is important, but my life is more so.

June 18th, 2009 Sue Me FL

Go ahead, push my buttons. Citi, if I had the money to pay you I would. I don't have any. Now that Obama told GM to file bankruptcy, I'm out of work and you schmucks are getting dick!

You want to threaten me? Bring it on! Sue me Bitch! As soon as you threaten with your attorney's letter to pay or he'll file, I'll file bankruptcy and you'll get less than squat!

Are you sure you want to keep charging me a late fee and over limit fees, especially, when your fees took my account over the limit?

Sue me! Eat it asshole! I'll call my bankruptcy a bailout too! Oh, it'll screw up my credit? Bullshit! You already took care of that.

Fuck you very much!

This is interesting, Right after I got a call from the 859-283-8074 number, I got a call from the 513-754-9822 stating they were from Macy's this time, Asking for the same person, Cheryl. (Out of Cleveland OH), This was the same voice that called just a couple of hours ago stating she was from Citi and would not finish the sentence.

=== Associated number 859-283-8074:===

Got this call too and asked for someone the did not live here. She said that she was calling from City and I asked what city ? She then said that it was personal and they would take the name off the list.

The number is out of BOONE County, Florence KY
The number is also redirected through Cincinnati, OH so you know that these guys have an alert system in place.

I would also notify the KY State Police and the BOONE county PD to see if they already have that number on file. If this scam has been going on for a while it is probably already known depending on the number of complaints.

If you think that you are being scammed than regardless of whether you are or not, you are advised to call your local police and report it. This way if your ID is ever stolen you have record of this on file. Without it you will have great difficulty trying to answer why you did not notify the authorities.

Be advised that charge cards only call you when you are 7 days late with a payment and if they do you do not have to give them any personal information . They already have it on record. If your charge card company does call you randomly like that then get a new one and transfer your account to one that does not.

Be advised that the authorities just broke up a PBX scam ring that hacked into companies PBX (company phone) system to get personal ID information and sell it to the higest bidder. I would not be surprised if thay also use the companies phone system to call these people to conduct their scam.

From 1983 to 2009 there were 507 million security breaches, 402 million were in the USA alone. This should tell you something. Data referenced at www.4thDTSecurity.com see for yourself.

What on earth is your objective in badgering people who post on this board? Do you work for Citi? Are you some moralistic Holy Roller
Preacher trying to correct the evils of credit card users? Are you some sort of stalker who gets his/her jollies reading other peoples' posting?

Would you mind sharing with the rest of us what your goals are?

You seem quite weird.

April 21st, 2009 LOL OH

Of course, trying to play it off. You have no solution. Citicard does. And yes, this is their number, it's not some telemarketer so don't reference the "do not call" list.

April 21st, 2009 Wary TX

This is not a chat/opinion/collection nor pimping. This is a board were people can find out who is calling their
private telephone numbers.

April 20th, 2009 LOL OH

So wary, what's your solution to dealing with clients who fall past due? Forgive the debt and take a loss, LOL?

April 20th, 2009 Wary TX

LOL, you seem to belong to the Senator Bill Frist medical school of remote, sight-unseen diagnosis of medical and other conditions.

With all your moralizing about people you don't know, I bet you are a 4 hour-a-day listener to Boss Limbaugh. You sound like a true Right Wing Nut. Why don't you get on about lobbying for banks and deal in facts you know and stay away from judging people you know nothing about.

April 18th, 2009 LOL TX

Well Wary, Citi collectors aren't paid on commission, so they have nothing to gain by lying to or misleading a consumer. They wish to retain the business of clients they are calling and wish to fully understand the reason cardholders fell behind so the best solution to resolve the delinquency can be worked out. You seem to be confusing them with third party collection agencies who have no interest in fostering beneficial relationships with the clients. Collectors would not have to call you people if you managed to live within your means anyhow. You knew the consequences of failure to repay yet you still signed the contract for the zales card or the radioshack card, and probably for products that truly weren't needed by yourself.

April 16th, 2009 PISSY MISSY

These people keep calling me while I'm working and I have no card with them! What the HELL! That's not right! If I had a card then I would have no room to bitch! I don't so here you go! :)

April 14th, 2009 Wary TX

Most attorneys I know seem to disagree with LOL below. The feeling is that collectors on the phone are intentionally misleading and the only reliable way to deal with collection companies is in writing. Not much good for the consumer seems to come from telephone conversations.

April 8th, 2009 LOL

Well, Ron, people hanging up on someone calling about a past due payment that is contractually and legally owed isn't going to help anybody, least of all the debtor. I know that the employees at citi collections make a flat rate, whether a cardmember makes a payment or not. If you're financially unable to pay the debt in full, It's still in your best interests to pick up the phone and talk for ten minutes, because payment programs are available and they do wish to see your situation resolved in the long run. Hanging up on a debt collector doesn't make the debt go away, it's the cowardly way out. Be an adult, take responsibility for the situation and the collector will help you out to the best of their ability. Hang up, and there's nothing we can do, except charge off the account and ruin your credit. You signed the contract for the card, you are legally liable.

April 8th, 2009 Ron

To be a debt collector means that your full of greed. Nothing more, and nothing less. A person without compassion, does it for the money.
Funny how they try to dictate ethics, ha-ha. The only way to explain this amount of greed is inbreeding, and there mother didn't love them enough.

In a way a feel sorry for them as a person, all-be-it an empty person who has no education or intelligence. So the next time you get a call from one of these special ed folk, just hang up on them.

April 7th, 2009 Debt Collector

Pay Your Bills on time and they won't call you. I don't know when you all began to think that a credit card gave you a sense of entitlement, but don't get mad because your actions do have consequences. Citigroup is not a 3rd party collection agency, therefore the FDCPA doesn't cover them. It's probably in your best interests to answer the calls, or you can see your account fall even more past due and into charge-off, which will ruin your credit. They will be willing to work out a solution as long as you take ten minutes to speak to them and work something out.

December 29th, 2007 Sharon TX

Have had two calls from this number. Didn't reconize the Caller ID name of "Dorothy Jones A", so I didn't answer. No message was left. Good to know that it is Goodyear follow-up call, but I still think that "Dorothy Jones A" is an odd name for Goodyear.

I pressed 1 and when a female picked up I told them my number was on the "Do not call list" and that I didn't appreciate the call. They just hung up straight away.

December 19th, 2007 B in San Diego CA

Join me in complaining to the FCC and demanding action for the high taxes we pay. They are not only violating the Do Not Call law but are also calling cell phones.

December 18th, 2007 Russell

Didn't recognize it, so didn't answer it - but a Google search strongly suggests this is a carpet cleaning scam. Odd that the number seems to be based in southern California - but I'm in the San Francisco area.

December 17th, 2007 Maria SF

Called on my cell phone. No message left.

Make sure and report them every time they call! Let's get these jerks to leave us alone!

December 14th, 2007 San Diego CA

Called the real Dave's Carpet Cleaning in Orange County. They reported that this is a marketing research firm and that they have investigators looking into the situation. The Dave's Carpet Cleaning representative also said that if you try to disconnect or be removed from the phone call list (by pressing '0' - though I did not get this prompt), the person will hang up on you before you can do anything. My number is on DoNotCall.gov... what happened!?

December 14th, 2007 Elena CA

These bastards call me every single week on all three of my unlisted, do not call phone numbers. If you speak to an operator they HANG UP. This is completely illegal.

December 13th, 2007 Juliette

What up with that - they keep calling my cellphone! How did they get my mobile number. Plus, I was in the Denver airport running for a plane. I stopped to answer my phone from a carpet cleaning service!

Is it only the west coast? or is it national?

December 12th, 2007 Rob is SF CA

Received the same as everyone elsw. What they are doing is "masking" their phone number to make it look like it is coming from that number. IT IS NOT THEIR REAL NUMBER. If it was, they would have been caught a long time ago. They are trying to get information from you to identity theft, steal credit card numbers, your address. Don't give them any info!

December 12th, 2007 Allison CA

I get the same so-called carpet cleaning company calling me as well and when I press 1 to "make an appointment" as soon as I ask the girl how the hell they got my cell phone number, she hangs up.

December 12th, 2007 LT in SD CA

Got a call for carpet cleaning and hung up right away.

I had just stupidly signed up for (and have since tried to cancel) over-priced magazines, and I'd given the company my phone number (don't know if it's related).

December 11th, 2007 Marisa CA

How did they find my cell phone number?? I also don't get how these scammers work? How do they use a non existant phone number?

December 11th, 2007 Greg

Got a call from the Carpet Cleaning service, could have been Dave's carpet cleaning.

December 11th, 2007 marco CA

don't trust them.

December 11th, 2007 SJofSJ CA

They called both my husband's and my cell phone today. It is illegal to do call marketing (if that is even what it is) to cell phones because of the costs involved to the mobile owner. Please go to www.fcc.gov and file a complaint. Also file a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry if your mobile phone is listed with them www.donotcall.gov

December 10th, 2007 Lila CA

Don't know who this is but I hate unknown numbers. It creeps me out!

December 10th, 2007 mikey mike CA

When I called the number back it came as a disconnected Verizon number. I am a Verizon customer so I called them directly. They don't know who the nmber belongs to, but an investigation has been started.
To the douche who called me, grow some balls and find a real job.

December 8th, 2007 John CA

Received a recorded message for "Dave's Carpet Cleaning". I am on the Do Not Call list.

December 7th, 2007 SD Cell CA

Got a call on my San Diego cell phone. Foolishly answered thinking that it may be someone I knew in Orange county. There was no response to my "hello"; Why would they call then hang up w/o scamming me?? Just to annoy me? I thought about calling back, but checked the phone number here first. Will try to register a complaint.

December 7th, 2007 Gozde CA

I received several phone calls from 949-614-0045 and no voicemails

December 6th, 2007 John CA

We seem to be getting more and more of these calls. We are on the "do not call" list, but that doesn't seem to mean anything any more. How can folks like us stop this nonsense?

December 6th, 2007 NS CA

December 5th, 2007 Reg CA

November 30th, 2007 Noway CA

I received a call from 949-614-0045 "Jim's Carpet Cleaning". When I pressed 1 to speak with an agent, a girl answered. I told her it was a business line, and I had no carpets, she said "I don't speak Spanish" laughed and hung up on me. I tried to call back, and it said "The number you have dialed is a not a working number. Please check the number and dial again. message 3CA21GN".

Went to voicemail, no message. Called number back, message said "you have reached a number no longer in service".

November 20th, 2007 Karen

The mechanical man calls here EVERY DAY. I screen my calls but it's still very annoying to have to listen to it. Today I picked up the phone and pressed 1. I asked the woman who answered why they were calling when I was on the Do Not Call list, and instead of putting me on the company's do not call list, she hung up on me so hard my ear hurts.

November 20th, 2007 Randy CA

unknown carpet cleaning business. Keeps calling even after telling them we are on the do not call list. I have filed a complaint for a Do Not Call violation.

November 16th, 2007 Will Sterr CA

Upon calling back this number (using Skype to foil Caller ID) "This number doesn't exist".

(859) 283-8074

November 14th, 2007 Fred Broder TX

They call just about every day, morning and evening, from two different numbers: 859-283-8074 and 859-283-3677. Never a name on the caller I.D., just comes up as unknown name and the phone number. Knowing who they are, I never answer, or I repeatedly press the pound key until a steady beeping is all they get.

November 1st, 2007 Vince

Carpet Cleaning call came in on my cell phone. I hit #1 to talk to someone and got a complete and utter rude female voice. As soon as I mentioned I'm on the do-not-call list AND they were calling me ona cell phone. she hung up in mid sentence. I will pursue legal action asap.

October 30th, 2007 SM

When I pressed 1 to make an appointment to "get my carpets cleaned" I was transferred to a female. I asked her to take my number off their automated calling list and she just hung up in my ear. SCAM - BIG TIME.

I get this call from Dave wanting to clean my carpets and ask me to press 1 for an appointment.

I am o nhe do not call list. Why are they calling?

October 30th, 2007 L. CA

We are also on the Do Not Call List. It doesn't help and they will probably never be able to find the source of these calls. We get similar-sounding calls from a supposed carpet cleaning company about once a week. This company's recorded message does not actually identify the business name. It just says it is a "local carpet cleaning company."

October 29th, 2007 Kitty CA

I am on the Do Not Call list and I don't appreciate solicitors that ignore the rules. I've noticed that the majority that still continue to call me are from carpet cleaning companies.

October 27th, 2007 RW

This person left a recorded message on my voicemail selling me his carpet-cleaning service, despite the fact that I'm on the Do Not Call Registry.

October 24th, 2007 Jessica

I've gotten about 4 calls from this biz, asking to prss one to make an appt to have carpet cleaned

October 21st, 2007 spud CA

don't give them any info, they will use it for identity theft. First they call you with the carpet cleaning company, ask for your name, phonenumber, address. You can setup an appointment for carpet cleaning and say ok come over on Tuesday, what time do you have free on Tuesday? They immediately say what time do you want, ok 9:00 fine. They don't check any schedule it obvious scam.

The other part is, they will call you with credit card debt service. They ask you to tell them do you have more than $5000 in debt? If you say yes then they ask for what kind of card is it? What is the expiration date, what is the card number? If you ask anything besides just answering their questions they will get suspicious and hang up.

So, putting it together, they got your name + address from the carpet scam, and get your credit card # + expiration date from the credit card scam.

What you can do to fight it is file a police report with your local police for either harassing phone calls or identity theft. Someday these guys are going to mess up and get busted.

If you are brave, you can feed them fake information to waste their time but it just wastes your time.

I keep getting the same robo-dialed phone call from a perky female voice called "Allison" for a carpert cleaning company. A couple of times, I go through the prompts and receive a live person to book the carpet cleaning. It always ends up being a man on a cellphone with a very heavy Latino accent.

Saw number on my caller id. I had my car serviced at a goodyear shop on Saturday, so a follow up service call is a likely candidate.

July 24th, 2007 Lisa OH

I did just go to the Goodyear in my town for a repair a week ago. Didn't think about a follow-up survey. Should have.

June 6th, 2007 Aerial

This number is a Goodyear service follow up. It is an automated survey to see how your recent service went at your local goodyear. They will not leave voicemail. and will continue to try getting your feedback for 30 days after your service.
