The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want
eocca calls from 15 phone numbers:
this number called regarding an offer for a 'vacation' or a trip to somewhere that I don't remember. I told the person that I did not have time to talk to her so she hung up without saying a word.
Debt Collector working for The City of Rochester Parking Violations
Corey: Verbal demands don't work on a known lawbreaker like EOS. Get off the phone and get on a paper trail. USPS Certified is your friend.
Foul language violates the FDCPA, and that call came ten minutes too late if you're a US resident. Consider a lawsuit if you have solid violations and kept good records.
FTC and CFPB material on US federal collection law:
just a call 9:10 pm answered no one there called back said they where looking for some girl told them wrong number and hung up on them. they say they'll remove you off the list but never do so why bother they'll just call again and get cussed out ;)
We rec'd this call on 10/22/13 at 3:53pm. We did not pick up. Message on ans. machine was from "Barbara" requesting personal info
about "Joshua X" and some kind of debt concern. We do not know a
Joshua and no-one in our family has ever had a student loan. We
have no idea why they called us. We have no plans to pick up the
phone should they call us again.
This number left a voice mail claiming to be from a collection agency. I forwarded their number to the FCC in Washington, DC. Sure would like to see the look on their face. If they use another number and call me again, I will forward it to the FBI in Washington. I have plenty of numbers I can send them to and being retired I have plenty of spare time.
That guy doesn't work for them. The last thing, as fraudulent entity, that they want is anything or anyone that can lead back to them. They are hiding.
They did their best to get my birthday and social security number while refusing to tell me one single thing about who they were or why they wanted except they "were trying to help me".
Got called by this number last night while sleeping but didn't hear it ring. When I woke up it had eaten up several minutes on my phone, way more than just "one missed call" would cause. Something fishy going on here.
Must be some collection agency, A$$holes call every now and then and will try to keep me on the phone asking questions and looking for someone.
A woman named Amber called to speak to a "Donnie." When told it was a wrong number, she asked if I knew him and where to find him. I said no and she said that she was sorry to bother me.
Unknown. No message.
This number calls multiple times a day, every day, morning and night. I have told them I am on the Do Not Call Registry, but they keep calling any way. They are very abusive, threatening, and rude. I never had a student loan, and i do not know the person they are looking for. Just another debt collecting scam.
Yep, this is a call from UPS Marketing to do a followup survey after you recently signed up for a shipper account. It's not a DNC violation, so cut them some slack.
This is a legitimate business trying to reach out to its newly-signed-up customers. Don't lump them into the same boat with Rachel or that asshole calling about FBI statistics and wanting to sell you a security system. If you answer the phone and (politely!) tell them you'd rather not do the survey and don't want any more calls, they should comply.
I went ahead and answered their call today - I usually don't pick up on numbers I don't recognize - and talked to the woman at the other end.
I told her about the amount of frustration I've been reading on the various sites that come up when you google the number. She said they've been hearing about about the negative comments and have been passing that feedback upstream to... well, you know... wherever that goes.
The lady was very pleasant, and after taking my comments she proceeded to ask me a few questions about how much I planned to ship and whether I also used competitors. She finished by asking if a sales person could contact me, and I (politely) said no thanks, since I'm just using this for personal shipping. The survey took about two minutes.
If you're getting dead air and/or they're not leaving a message, that's likely a side-effect of the way the outbound systems work. It's not a person sitting there dialing your number, hearing you or your answering machine pick up and then just ignoring you or hanging up. My guess is that if it's an answering machine the system hangs up and tries again later so they can talk to a real person, and if you pick up and get dead air it's because the system doesn't have a call agent available to talk to you. Yeah, I know it's a pain, but that's the way phone centers work these days.
When you call UPS and ask them about the calls and they don't appear to know what's going on, it's because they're a big, BIG company and the people you're talking to don't know what another part of the business is doing. Happens all the time.
Hey these people are scums of the earth and this so called Mike must be one of the collectors who should be called asshole!! I have a friend who is being harassed by them daily who has a excellent credit rating and has no idea why they are calling him. Well I told him to hold out to Jan 1, 2013 and do not answer the phone when these jerks call. In January 2013 the government is going after these debt collectors and hopefully put them out of business for good. I told him if this does not stop by the end of January 2013 I will let my family lawyer sue the hell out of them!! Yes this is a warming!!
This number has called my land-line phone several times. When I answer they hang up. I let the answering machine get it they won't leave a message.
UPS New Account setup marketing, Asking questions about my new account and simple questions regarding how many packages i ship and who i use and why
This number called a family member asking for me. Acted like a long lost friend trying to get in touch with me. Yeah, right.
Like others, I suspect this is from UPS. I just created an account to ship something by UPS. This happened to me before. I landed up deleting my UPS account and the phone calls stopped. Going to delete my UPS online account again

This young smartellic guy called at 11am 8/21/2012 askingor either a Justin or Dustin Caldwell several times and didn't say why or anything else..I told him to not call again or would call my friends at the local sheriff's department. ( I only had this number about 6 monthes ).
Like many others, I just signed up for a UPS account - but i didn't answer phone, so I cannot say who actually claimed to be calling.
Nothing ''is wrong with this picture'', RB. Read the federal rules for yourself:
You can either continue to report nuisance calls here for an additional six months or take away this collector's permission to call, on paper and through USPS Certified as advised by the FTC and many debt problem experts.
This number showed up this morning, Sunday at 8:07 AM on the Caller ID. What is wrong with this picture?
This number showed up on Caller ID yesterday. I did not answer it.
This number showed up on my Caller ID yesterday. I did not answer it, it rang several times.
I have received two calls from this number this week. I am not sending or expecting any packages and have not received a "we missed you" notification either. The caller did not leave a message either time. I called UPS and they said if it was UPS, they would have left me a message, which they didn't.
They keep calling for a person I've never heard of, Carl Johnson. I've requested once already for them to remove my phone number from their calling list. Carl Johnson why are you giving out my phone number? 8882666471 stop calling me.
Like others I recently signed up for a UPS account.
CALLED ME TWICE IN ONE DAY
Closing my UPS account tomorrow and switching to FedEx. UPS is horrible and this is just one more reason to not do business with them! Thanks for the info.
Susan, you could have started with the advice I gave here, all of two comments behind yours, fifteen months ago. EOS is permitted by law (in essence) to assume you're a liar until you provide an answer it wants, such as a promise to pay unverified debt or a confession that you've been hiding the alleged debtor in your attic all this time. You will endure another three years of pestering unless you get off the phone and start on a paper trail.
To a ''not me'' case I always recommend putting the agency on notice, just as you would if you were the target and the debt claim was invalid. Send a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with return card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft one. This will set a legal landmine, as such a notice is ignored at their peril.
It may be the case that multiple collectors have been hitting you with skip trace calls. You'll of course have to repeat this process of a written demand with each new agency that appears.
Learn how to exercise your FDCPA rights as an alleged debtor at FTC-dot-gov.
I receive calls from this number (888)-266-6471 at least twice a week for the last 3 years asking for a name where I recognize the last name but not the first. "Tracy H______".
The name of the company is EOSCCA Collection Agency.I have called this company so many times to have my number removed for several years but to no avail. They keep telling me that they will remove it but still has not done so.
Can someone please offer any suggestions that may help?
I have received several calls from this number. What a pest. How can we put them out?
Just received a call from this number - 2 days in a row. I didn't answer because I was at work. But I did just open up a UPS account online. So it makes sense that it is UPS. Thanks again for giving me the scoop, now I'm sure I'll never answer it but I hope they'll stop calling me.
They have just called my house again twice and I did not answer. I do not answer the phone if I do not recognize the number.
Called the house several times back to back and the phone rung about 10 times. I did not pick up. I do not answer calls that are unknown.
Called the housse and I did not answer the phone as I did not recognize the number.
I am another recipient of these calls that recently opened a UPS account. Luckily I had the foresight when I opened the account to give them my Google Voice number, so that if I ended up on any sort of marketing/spam list I could easily block as many incoming numbers as I needed to. This number has been accordingly marked as spam and goes directly to voicemail now without me ever having to even hear my phone ring.
Here is what to do if they ask for say John Doe and that is not you... When they ask for John Doe tell them that's who you are. When they start telling you to pay your bill just say no. Tell them you have no intention to pay it now or ever. Then they start getting hot and threaten you. Tell them they don't have any balls and nothing will happen because they are gutless. Keep goading them, it's fun as heck after all you aren't the person they want anyway. I told one guy I had more money in my dresser drawer that he would make in a lifetime and could care less if he ruined my credit. It's a hoot to see how mad they get.
People in all countries take the home loans in various banks, because that is simple.
Its UPS. Got a call again, they never leave voice mail, After about 1 minute of holding someone started to ask about the UPS account I just opened. Waste of time. UPS please do not waste my time.
I just blacklisted the number, which blocks it and gives them a message that mu number is disconnected. The name on the number shows up as UPS Marketing. I too recently opened a UPS account online.
why the hell does he keep calling and not talk. If this us UPS, please do not waste my time.
called me 4 times this AM, before 8 AM! called yesterday after 9PM
This number calls my cell numerous times per day, but does not responed when I answer. Please tell me what it is and how do I stop it.
Telling me to call if I knew of someones location. My mother-in-law received the same phone call a couple of minutes after mine. It was a recorded message from"Kerri Smith". We did not call them back.
Same as the comments below. Guy was skilled like a telemarketer, kept talking to keep conversation going. Knew my address, but not my apartment number, and played real like a real representative, ie, asking if I want to be included in e-mail promotions... another big mistake he made, as I had already set up an account on UPS' website already having answered those questions with a click. I also told him that UPS has already sent me a bill and thus ALREADY HAS my apartment number and that I don't believe that he's from UPS, said thank you, and hung up on him... while he was still speed talking telemarketer style.
I called the number back and got the same as everyone below, can't dial in per pre-recorded message.
Surprised I've not seen any ACTION on this since 2006 of the first report, below.
This is credit bureau. They are trying to find the guy who had my tracphone number previously. Just a lame collection agency that calls repeatedly. How do these idiots ever collect anything by calling outdated phone numbers?
i tried to call back and the number is 'unavailable from my calling area'
This is a collection agency still looking for the person who had this number 5 years ago! Stop calling me already!
Why do i keep gettng calls from that #? 800-686-2700. I know I signed up for A UPS Account recently so maybe that is why.
hey, EOS CCA.. u r a a3##hole because they called a family member or mine in reference to someone else in the family that has been DEAD FOR TEN YEARS and never owed anyone a dime DICKWAD
Recorded message saying it was important that a person I never heard of contact them and to call back if I knew of his whereabouts. Obviously a collection call. But why are they calling me for this person? Some kind of scam...
I did not answer.
I work for UPS and got a call from this number. Answered it "UPS, this is ..." and they hung up.
As if I didn't dislike UPS enough before this... Luckily I won't be using my account number with them much as FedEx makes my life easier.
With all these people below reporting as UPS calling and having set up a new account....would suspect an insider at UPS with access to new account names and numbers is selling to scammers for them to try to pry more information which can be used to utilize credit card or other information to make money in some way???? I did not answer and checked online first as I trust no-one who does not allow caller ID the company name and does not leave a message with a contact name & number.
Why don't they identify themselves ... The caller id says: Unknown 800-686-2700. I don't pick up "unknown" calls
The robot voice left a message on my answering machine asking for information about someone I went to college with. I have no idea how they associated her with me--maybe through the college website? Anyway, I'm certainly not going to call them back.
It was UPS calling to ask follow up questions after opening an account. The number is probably tied to a call center, supplying "agents" for multiple companies, where the 800 number on the caller ID is a trunk number and not specifically tied to a business name.
This means, that this number may show up for any number of businesses served by this particular call center.
this is NOT UPS. I alerted UPS to this and their response follows:
"Thank you for forwarding this information to us. The phone call you received is not a legitimate UPS communication. We are aware that individuals may inappropriately use the UPS name or its services to perpetuate fraudulent activities. Please be aware the actual phone number can be masked or spoofed on caller ID and appear to be a legitimate UPS phone number when it is not.
We appreciate you alerting us to this latest incident. "
Hmm, reported here I also see the names of different debt collectors and political callers, quite a variety of opinions on caller identity. It may be a legit UPS number being spoofed in parallel by less honest types. The Truth In Caller ID Act was finally signed by the Prez six weeks ago, one can hope that will lift some fog.
call claimed to be from UPS, calling regarding new accounts, and how the service was going. they knew the address, didn't give them a chance to go any further. if it is UPS its a lousy way of doing business. i think i'll cancel the damn account.
Its a scam people!! They call me left a mesg to call them, when i call back it was after hours they was close the mesg said EOCCA collecting for verizon. I call verizon because i never had them, the rep told me it was a scam because she didn't see that every had an account with them, and it not on my credit report either. Please do not give any info to these bums they call from a 1877-208-4176 toll free #
NW, I'd say that rep could use some FDCPA skills. You don't "HAVE to call them" at all. The absurd canned demand for you to self-authenticate is the industry's response to privacy regs. That's about the clumsiest example I've heard of yet.
You will never get a rogue debt collector to honor a verbal cease-comm, and it's becoming clear the supposed keypress report isn't much good either. Send your demand via USPS Certified with card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft such a letter. Learn how to exercise your rights as an alleged debtor at FTC-dot gov.
Some more criticism of EOS-CCA may be found under this number: 8002689806
Has been harassing us for over 4 weeks. Calls all times of day looking for "Carmen Wiggins." We have had this phone number for over 30yrs and lived in the same house for as long. Don't know a Carmen Wiggins, no clue. Have tried to tell them and I give up.
When I asked the person who she was and why she was calling, she told me I need some "Phone skills." Wow.. Unreal. After that call, I started to receive calls from "Unknown" with no call back number. They would not answer, but hangup, then call back again. Went on for over an hour. These people are scumbags.
I have been recording them and will turn it over to the State. One of their recordings say that if I'm NOT this person, and I listen to the call, I HAVE to call them and tell them! I've answered and done as they say hitting 3 to tell them they have the wrong number, and they still call. I give up.

To counter a common myth repeated by Michelle in 2007 ... You don't need a valid debt or a derogatory trade line on your credit reports to be hassled by collectors. You may get the mystery calls if you are a peer or neighbor or relative of the intended target, OR if your data is goofed up with someone else's account, OR you share a similar name or data point with the alleged debtor, OR your name is on an account you've paid or is too aged to reasonably pursue. The bad collectors don't need much for an excuse, and they don't much care whose name is on the settlement checks they want.
If you are receiving repeated, misdirected, and/or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, the Federal law which regulates collector behavior. Learn your rights at FTC-dot-gov. See also your state laws for additional support.
Collection agency EOCCA looking for my friend. Claimed my # was given by my friend. Called them on the BS
Got call first time today. I registered account at UPS.com last week. I kept on hold and line disconnected after 1 minute as i was on other call.
MIKE IS A CHAMP
My compliments to the good sleuthing found in this thread.
If you are receiving misdirected or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, which regulates collector behavior and provides a private right of action. It grants you control of how you are contacted, and collectors can be sued for their crimes. You may however soon find that your verbal demands to limit or cease communication, as allowed by the FDCPA, are often ignored. You will have to place the discussion on a paper trail to enforce regulatory compliance. Learn your rights and first response tactics at FTC-dot-gov.
Oh, and "Mike" the angry pot, please meet the black kettle. If anyone is an economic and emotional parasite, it's the typical rogue debt collector, who doesn't much mind if the amounts or names are incorrect, doesn't care who suffers so they can hit those quotas. Like all of you trolls, you have conveniently missed the parade of entries made by people who owe nothing and are falsely accused.
EOS-CCA .. JUST LEAVE THIS LADY MESSAGES ... I BET YOU YOUR CALLS STOP
Director of Operations
Mike, you are an idiot.
Not sure why my post was deleted... in any case, they called the office looking for somone who never worked here, the girl (who identified her company as EOCCA) said "pfft, whatever" and hung up on me when I told her so. Rude.
Ah, the charmer who is claiming to work for them must be the same snotty b*tch who said "pfft, whatever" and hung up on me when I informed her that she was looking for someone who never worked at the number she called. If so, call this workplace again and you WILL be looking for a new job yourself, sweetie.
I haven't had calls from this number at my home, but as to the comments from the person who allegedly worked for this company, I'm guessing that grammar & spelling skills aren't required?
FIRST OF ALL TO ALL YOU IDIOTS I WORK HERE AND THE REASON WHY YOU GUYS GET CALLED IS THAT YOU DONT PAY UR BILLS THAT WOULD BE WHY..SO BEFORE YOU PUT THE BLAME ON SOMONE ELSE YOU SHUD PAY YOUR BILLS ON TIME SO WE DONT CALL YOU..HAHA
They keep calling for a guy named Mr. E Franklin. Although I have explained over & over that this is a business emergency phone and no one that works for this company has that name (either first or last) they continue to call. It is a collection agency and once I find out what the E.O.C.C.A means I am faxing a cease and desist order to them to finally stop these nusiance calls once and for all.
left a message for unknown person; i called them back and told them that they had the wrong number and had no idea who the person was tha they are asking for. they said that they would remove my number and thanked me and hung up. will see if that worked?
They call looking for our Hadicapped, learning disabled, out of WORK,son. When you question them they turn, rude, crude, and socially undesireable. They are going down!!
Calls repeatedly. No message. I recently registered for a UPS account.
Bill Collector asked for someone that does not live here.
Looking for some person we don't know.Recorded message from collection agency.
Jill Lawrence has helped me the last two days with being reported by XM Radio for not paying my bill. The reason I cancelled with them is because they are always billing me for items I did not purchase. Jill was on the phone with me about an hour and a half to help me get this straightened out to no avail. I give her a lot of credit for trying to help. I did, however, get stuck with having to pay a $200 bill that I did not purchase.
Buyer beware with XM Radio!!
Guy claiming to be Jason trying to phish info from me concerning my mother-in-law. When questioned, kinda seemed he was having to "squirm" when answering. Gave me an extension of 3029 and a case number I wont list here for obvious reasons. Claimed it would be in her best buisiness interest to get in touch with him. I seriously doubt, as both my in-laws are "seriously" in tune with anything to do with their biz finances. They are well to do and would not need to be looked for in this manner. Consumer BEWARE!!!
ROBO CALLER - Message from Kerry Smith for my wife's dead uncle. number was 866-661-1815 very important message for "Name" from Kerry Smith. How do they get these phone numbers?
They called and since it's not a number I recognized I let VM get it. Once they left a msg, I checked it and it was a recording from a "Kerry Smith" with an important message for my uncle. My uncle has never lived with us and has been dead over a year. This is most likely a scam. I also left a comment on the phone number this "Kerry" left. That number was 877-327-9341. So heads up if you get a call from either of these 2 numbers.
eocca collections co
Its UPS. they will only call you if you actually request a UPS account number (6 digit), NOT a userid.
They will call you 3-4 times a day, usually 10:30,12:30,1:30,2:30 and 3:30. I had the misfortune of signing up 2 times with 2 numbers (google voice number).. annoying.
Calling the number back, says the number is disconnected. This I think should be a violation of FCC rules, seriously. Calling people from a number, that they cannot call back. Ignorant.
Though they have called a gazillion times, i have actually yet to hear a voice :(

Please be sure to file complaints against them with the BBB, Attorney General, FTC, and FCC. All can be done for free online. Also feel free to repeatedly call them and tell them EXACTLY what you think of them
this is a fraud to get you personal info. Verizon does not know who they are.
RECEIVE THIS CALL AROUND 8:30 Sunday morning. Caller asked for someone unfamiliar to me. I suggested they had misdialed. His response was that he had reached the person at my number before. Again, I suggested he try his call again. Since then I have received calls from this place daily around 7:30. When I answer, the phone disconnects.
A man called my parents and would not tell them why, just left a number for me to call. When I called the number I was hung up on twice without even speaking to a real person. When I actually got a real person, ROY, he was extremely rude, wanted my SS number and pretty much told me if I did not settle a 5 yr old debt with Verizon that he would ruin my credit. I do not have a debt with Verizon. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE AND PLEASE DO NOT EVER GIVE OUT YOUR SS#.
Used my 2 yo through her mother contacked her father to get to me about my brother and a phone bill and thier last names dont match who thier looking for lol p.s. and they dont pay for information
Recorded message was something about paying off debts (not a collection agency, though).
Maybe these folks:
Have received repeated calls from, at all hours of the day. Just an automated voice saying to call. I am on do not call list and don't know how they got my number.
Caller asked for "Joewilly" Williams. The recorded message said if I was not that person (I am NOT)call them back and advise them. I called back several times and was put on hold everytime. They harass me with these calls and will not talk about it. I have had my phone since 1997, and they have been calling me for about a year.
credit collector eocca
They did the same thing to me. I just spoke with these people again. I asked them to prove to me as I never had ATT. I had Verizon and Charter. She said the bill was from 8 years ago for 41$. I said I was going to sue if they couldn't prove it. She said there was nothing in the file and she would remove it and take it off my credit as there was no documentation. I asked for a letter verifying that by Monday, or I would sue. (I have all my phone bills for years and can prove ATT doesn't serve my area).
I got a call from this number and was asked to called them back with an account number they gave me. If it wasn't me to call back and have my number removed from their database. I called the number back and some old lady answered the phone and said that she keeps getting these calls and someone is using her number to have all kinds of people call their number. Please stop calling. How do I actually get in touch with these scum bags who called me to tell them to stop?
They said "it is an attempted to collect a debt"... I wished them "Goodluck!!!!"
I was told to call this number because it was an attempt to collect on a debt. I was to also give them a referece number I reference to this call. Needless to say I did not call back. All my bills are upto date. I've gotten calls from this number before asking for a different person and if you are not the person being asked for, call back and have your number removed from their list.
Would not state the reason for the call, but wanted me to give them the last 4 digits of my social.
2 calls from 800-686-2700. When I tried to call the number I received a recording saying the number has been disconnected.
Also 877 489 1148 Bunch of fucktards from eocca, at&t's collection agency. Paid my bill off months ago, still calling. Scam for sure, just deal with at&t directly and avoid them.
Remember, debtors are scum! They are thieves! They are no better than someone that walks into a bank and robs it! These debtors were given thousands of dollars under the agreement that they would pay it back, but they are not paying it back, they are running and hiding in holes like the rats they are! Bill collectors are like police officers, they are tracking down these criminals and getting them to payback what they stole. Debtors are leeches on society, sucking the life blood out of the economy, Banks were kind enough to help these people out and give them money that they needed, and how do these losers repay them? by stealing the banks money! Money that belongs to the patrons of that bank.
Keep receiving calls from 877-294-5776, caller ID says name unavailable. VM message left to call about an important business matter. I am a Do Not Call list. I believe that the Attorney General of each state should be contacted. There is an international law dept. that handles these types of complaints.
Lady who had my phone number before me was apparently a deadbeat. I called direct to 781-753-4002 from another number not traced to me and asked to be removed. Operator said he removed it with no questions and no harassment. We'll see if it sticks.
Left a message asking for my help reconnecting with my exhusband's current wife using her maiden name. Said she listed me on an educational document as a someone to call if they ever got out of touch. That is funny. Didn't even know her when she had that name. They should at least get close to the tell the truth. I do know she has a lot of credit issues. Wonder how they connected me to her.
calls and lets phone ring 40-50 times. hangs up calls right back lets the phone ring 40 times again. grandson answered phone told them he was the only one home. They talked to
him told him that i just had one day to call them back that if was very important they talk to me, that after that 1 day it would be out of their hands and they couldn't tell me what would happen to me.
1st call was in July 2009 right after I received my new phone service. Caller was rude, evasive, claimed I owed Hospital bills and refused to comply with my request for itemized billing and information. Reported the incident and company to AG .... no action they could not find the company???? (Beauracrates.... Grrrrrr!)
Finally today Jim Johnson of EOCCA calles and leaves TX # 800-896-4539 ext 14716. I did some reverse research and then recalled the number. It was answered by a female calling herself Heather and she said this was "Department of Education"..... Hmmmm short conversation and she tells me this is a collection agency office in Norwal Mass. I gave her the ref# left by jim and she found out that I was not the right person and had no correct info. So it was put me on the NO CALL LIST and GOOD BYE!
COLLECTION CALL FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T LIVE HERE. THEY LOVE TO SAY "IF YOU CONTINUE TO LISTEN TO THIS MESSAGE, THEN... ". THESE SOUND LIKE REAL LOW BOTTOM-FEEDERS.
You had better stop calling the cell!! I have already called my lawyer!!
Do NOT call them from any telephone# you do NOT want them to ever have. The company is:
700 Longwater Drive
Norwell, Ma 02061
Whatever their reason is for calling you, and if they are calling you at the homes of relatives, they are doing so after a basic background investigation. Rookie investigators, given the right resources, can obtain many of your family's contact ph#s. When they don't know where you are, contacting all your immediate family is what they do first. This is Investigation 101. It is also the reason they give you the 800# PLUS.....a "REFERENCE NUMBER".....to use when calling. This Ref# IDENTIFIES YOU!!. Now they have you from a particular Ph# at a certain time of day. They are hoping to obtain a POE for you from this, then their attorneys can go after your paycheck to attach.
DO NOT CALL THESE NUMBERS from any and all companies doing the same thing, not from any phone# you don't want them to know of and remember that your assigned reference# IDs you.
WANT SOME REVENGE??.....call from payphones or any phone not traceable to you and alter the reference #s a bit when doing so. Don't change them too much, such as adding more numbers, for then they will just ignore the call, knowing it to be in error. Keep the same amount of numbers in your ref#, but change a few of those numbers. Then, their investigators waste a helluva lot of time chasing down those false leads to your whereabouts, but in those cases, to someone else's whereabouts, for your changed ref# may ID another skip they seek. THAT will cost them much time and money. ;)
REMEMBER THIS: even if the 800# is not a trapline (for I have one myself), any company's 800# works the same way!! WHY? Because they are paying for all calls coming into it and they get the data on the phone#s calling them, for they have that right to know where the calls come from since they are paying for it. It's not as simplified a process as a trapline, but ANY & ALL company 800s will get the same data. So, if you want to speak to someone there, use their regular ph#.
They are whores. Keep calling my number asking for another party. Attempts to get them to stop calling the wrong number failed. Call CEO Paul Leary Jr or their corporate atty named Richard Manning and rake them over the coals like I did (800-866-9177). Paul comes to the phone, Richard returns calls. Then call your state Atty General's Office, ask for Consumer Protection/Fraud Dept and file a formal complaint!!!
I kept getting a message on our answering machine from this number looking for someone. I knew the person they mentioned but they did not live here. Finally I called the number back and someone answered eocca? I said I was not the person they were looking for and they did not live here. They asked if I knew that person and I said yes. They asked for the number. I said I did not know it. I asked if this was an unpaid bill matter and they said, "not necessarily." I said they could send me something in writing stating their purpose in looking for this person and I might be able to locate the person but they just said it was not necessary and they would delete my phone number from their system. I guess they are bill collectors but I don't know for sure as they were pretty vague.
They called my mother and me. Our phone numbers are sequential. They told her she owed from a Sears CC she used to have. She said that's been 30 years ago. They didn't know anything about her CC. They are scam artists trying to get bank account nbrs, SSN's, phone numbers, anything they can. I'd recommend not calling them back. All you will acomplish is letting them know they dialed a working number, then it will get worse.
Don't ever give any information, Tell them to mail whatever it is to you and don't give your address. If you really owe them money, they will already have it.
I don't know how you got this number and what kind of business that I've got with you and if you have business with someone then you let them know something through the mail that is more professional. So, I don't know who you are so, don't call this number again and if so, I'll get my lawyer involved in this case also. I like like it when all of these nonsense phone calls are made to my house wasting my time because I've got other things to do more important and there are so many scammer's in this world trying to get their foot in the door and into your pocketbook.
I got a call from them too. They left a message on my answering machine. The message said that if I'm not the person they're calling, then dial [some number, it didn't sound coherent] to have my name removed from their call list. Then it said that if I continue to listen, then I acknowledge that I AM the person in question and that they are attempting to collect a debt. I didn't fall for it, so I deleted the message.
About a year ago, another collection agency tried to collect a debt from me that was owed by a former roommate. I don't know why they're bugging me about it, but they persist. My name is on the Wisconsin no-call list, but I'm not sure if it includes calls from collection agencies. Otherwise, I'll wait 'til they call again and try to get that no-call number from them and see if that works. If it doesn't, then I'll do the militant black lesbian routine. That usually works
Toll-free number for EOS CCA, a collection company.
In last few weeks I have received atleast 5 calls from this MORON named Michael Barrett from a company called EOCCA Collection Agency and every time he calls he leaves a message saying this is a call for Michael ####### if your not him then hang up now but if you continue to listen then your telling me your Michael ###### .....What planet does MORON live on doesnt realize when he leaves msg in someones voicemail they have no way of listening to msg as its being recorded ?? He thinks Im the guy he is looking for cause I didnt hang up phone while he was leaving his msg ? Never mind fact he is calling my cell phone and Harrassing me IM NOT the person he insists I am ...I didnt bother listening to rest of msg maybe next time I will and call him back and let him know what ASSHOLE he is
This company is doing some very shady stuff. My brother in law who lived with us briefly 10 years ago owes everyone money. Unfortunately my son has the same name as my brother-in-law. So what happens is we get calls from this company for my BIL. Now MY family gets calls for him. Since my son has the same name they do some sort of search for "mike's" closest relatives. they get my son mike's closet relatives. Today my brother and his wife received a collection notice at their address from CCA!
My son is deployed and they keep calling saying I need to get a hold of him for a personal reason. Of course I was very concerned. They said he was in debt. I know for a fact that he has not outstanding debt. When I asked who was calling they replied, "EOSCCA" was calling....I asked what does that stand for, and she replied, "It is none of your business." Obviously, I hung up the phone. So, I googled the number and found numerous sites with similar stories. These people are beyond rude. How stupid do they think I am...when my son calls, I am going to tell him to call this bogus agency. No way! I am sure we would have gotten a billing from any business if money was actually owed.
does not leave message
This company called my home looking for a girl that I never heard of. They left a message to return the call and have my number removed from there call list if I did NOT know the person. I returned the call and requested that my number be removed. When I asked the lady who was calling she got ignorant with me and insinuated that I must know the person or I would not care who called. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she got snotty. After a few choice words she hung up on me. Very upset, I returned the call and they hung up on me again. It took me five trys until I FINALLY got to speak to a supervisor. They were VERY ignorant and RUDE!!!!
THIS IS WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO DO TO GET THESE SCAMMERS CAUGHT & PICKED UP WITH THE KEY THROWN AWAY:
I HAVE POSTED A LEGAL MESSAGE FROM THE ATTORNEY GENERAL ON WHAT YOU CAN DO IN YOUR STATE WITHOUT GOING THROUGH ALL THE RED TAPE > > TYPE IN THE PHONE # 571-283-6404 > > THERE YOU WILL SEE MY RECENT POSTING & HOW TO DO IT ONLINE WITHOUT THEM HAVING TO WAIT > > THERE SHOULD ALSO BE A 1800 FOR YOUR STATE YOU COULD CALL TO SPEAK TO A HUMAN BEING IN THIS DEPT. EVEN IF THE PHONE CALL COMES UP UNKNOWN CALLER OR PRIVATE CALLER (ETC.), YOU CAN STILL ENTER THESE WORDS IN THE PHONE # AREA OFF THE CALLER & YOUR MESSAGE WILL STILL GO TO THE AG > > > HOPE IT WORKS FOR EVERYONE > > WE NEED TO CATCH THESE IDIOTS!
Got called today. Picked up but no answer then call disconnected.
Perhaps it's UPS as many of you already mentioned since I just open UPS account and had some problem with my last week shipping.
CCA is a shell company for another company based out of Germany. They specialize in harrassing phone calls and must have success in doing business this way. I am currently being harrassed by them, but can live with not answering their "UNKNOWN" caller ID. Tried to explain that I'm not who they are looking for, but they seem to be suffering from terminal anal-cranial inversion.
I would recommendd you DO NOT return their phone calls.

I've had two calls from this number within an hour (on a Saturday afternoon). I have no account with UPS and have no idea
why they'd keep calling. Whatever happened to the DO NOT CALL LIST? Doesn't seem to work too well.
Told them not to call back. Now they leave recorded messages! Reporting them to attorney general
A quick search of this phone number on the internet brings up a large number of posts with the same statement. Messages are left referencing someone who supposedly used your phone number as a source of contact. An account number is provided with the message. Upon calling back, a person states something along the line of 'Thank you for calling CCA, please hold.' The call is then dropped.
THIS IS A SCAM THAT NEEDS TO BE REPORTED TO THE LOCAL POLICE (HOUSTON, TX) -713-884-3131. Got a phone call from these people saying that I had written a NSF check back over a year ago to a store that I don't even shop at! They said I needed to take care of it today or further legal action would be taken. They wanted me to take care of it over the phone by giving them my credit card or debit card number, or said I could mail them a cashier's check or money order. I called my bank and reported them. For one thing, no such check was written and I also have overdraft protection, so no store would have received it back NSF.
I don't know who they are, but they are some kind of bill collector. I received a call today looking for my ex-wife, who I divorced almost 15 years ago. This was on a telephone number I hooked up about 3 months ago. Pretty good skip tracing on their part, I would say.
I got a call from Eric saying he was with UPS. It's simply a follow up call to verify info and checking to see how the service is working. The gentleman I spoke to was very helpful, polite and didn't waste my time at all he made the call fast and painless! Why some of you that did answer and got a dead signal IDK why. But I was happy to get a follow up call.
this is the second go around with this stupid outfit. They leave automated messages for the wrong person on my voicmail which states my name. Obviously these are crooked people running another scam.
When answering the phone a fax sound went off and then a man said urgent to call back
They left a message for someone I never heard of. Took down the number and called back. When I told them someone was calling for a person that doesn't work here, they put me on hold and then hung up.
This seems to be valid, for me anyway. It turned out to be a collection service for XM Sat Radio. I canceled my subscription a year ago, now they are trying to say I owe them $25.00, this number is attempting to collect it.
Got this call today. Said they had been trying to call - not true. Called it back and got a recording saying that my call was important and that the call might be monitored for quality insurance. I was then put on hold for the next available operator. I waited for 30 seconds and hung up. I then googled it and found all of these similar posts.
Also getting calls... signed up for new UPS account 7 days ago.
CCA Collecto 4099 Mcewen Rd, Dallas, TX 75244 (972) 367-6800 = collection agency & refuse to stop calling - so I sent letter of intent to litigate [the only thing they truely understand]
I get calls from "unknown caller" for my morning alarm and my goodnite kiss - every day. The Operations Division number will call later in the day and hang up after one ring. Today is Saturday and they don't change their routine.
I called them back after they left a message. It was about an XM Radio acct which I had closed. They're trying to tell me I owe an early termination fee. But the guy wasn't rude at all. He acted like he thought I was going to get ugly, but when I didn't, he was ok.
I receive calls from this number about 3xs per day..
When I call back there is no answer.
What can I do to stop them from calling?
They said that my 14 year old has an unpaid AT&T bill that they are trying to collect on!! They couldn't tell me my child's last name but they wanted me to tell them his last 4 of his SSN. They didn't even know what city he lived in.
Its National Grid Calling you
Time sensetive matter, not a solition call not a marketing call however pre-recorded message wanted a call back within 24hrs. Not - I don't owe anyone at least outstanding and I do have my phone blocked from solication and marketing calls. I want to call to get them to stop bothering me however I realize that this will only add fuel to the fire. Good luck to thoses of you who do call back
BEING ABUSIVE TO INNOCENT PEOPLE WILL BE GETTING THEM SUED!
On Tuesday the jerk called Kurt Miller at CCA calls at 7:40am & wakes me up.
I've been patiently telling them for almost 2 years that the person they're calling doesn't even live in the country anymore (much less at this private cell # they're calling!) Last week the guy said "he wasn't inclined to believe me".
I told him it's the (verifiable!) truth and being an A-hole doesn't change the FACTS!
So now it's on!
I've filed DONOTCALL & Eastern Mass BBB complaints. Looked into FTC & FCC complaint (don't think FCC applies). Going to look into filing complaint with MA Attorney General as well.
Wrote the company a CEASE & DESIST letter. (Some of the laws require that communication be done in writing). I explained to them again that the person they are calling moved out of the country in Aug. '07 & this is now a personal cell phone for a different person. Just because they don't like that fact doesn't mean it's not the truth! I also said that just because the guy claims that listening to the messages he keeps leaving on my private cell phone makes me responsible for the debt- again does not mean that is true.
"it is my belief that your conduct of personal attacks against an innocent party clearly constitutes violations of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act 15 U.S.C 1692, et seq. & State laws."
I'm actually almost looking forward to the next call so I can sue them for more violations!
Kurt Miller has brought this on himself by being such a dick, so early in the morning.
Keep calling for an EX_Roomate who doesn't even live in the country anymore.
I have told them this # is no longer a valid contact # for her and yet they wont' stop calling ME. It's no longer her phone #, I made it my personal cell after she moved out.
Starting with DONOTCALL & BBB, but if they keep calling will have to resort to cease-desist letter from Todd Friedman's law firm.
They left a message for me with my first name leaving a threatening phone call that they would hate to tell my neighbors and place of employment. I while ago, I had a debt company saying that I owed the U.S. student loan 15 thousand. It didn't matter that the person they were trying to get money from had a different middle name, 20 years older, in a state that I never lived nor have I been to more than a community College. I thought I took care of this. I think that collection agency sold it to this one. Aren’t threatening and blackmail calls against the law?
This can't be a scam, because I just recently signed up for a UPS account too. As others have said, this is obviously related to UPS.
They keep calling my house and when I pick up they don't say anything. So I called them back. Turns out they weren't looking for me they are looking for someone else. If they are not looking for me quit calling.
Nonstop calls from these people at least 3x's daily!
Please tell me why you are calling here and for what reason ?
they say they are from ups but this is a scam do not give info to them. I called ups and they said they do not call to confirm address after signing up for a ups account.....
4/04/09 Call rec'd on Sat. Returned call - recording -
"CCA on behalf of AT & T, call back during regular business hours".
I have AT & T home service but am current. Will deal only directly
with AT & T.
I have my fax machine on and ready to answer any calls from toll free numbers -- that usually stops them after the first or second call. Same for this number...
The machine picks up all of my calls, if I don't know the number, I refuse to talk to them. They wanted someone who doesn't even live with me. If I call back, I assume I would be raked over the coals and I am not even going to go there. I can easily block them too for that matter.
This number has called me at least twice a day, on my home phone and cell phone. No choice to talk to someone only to call them back. I have called them back at least 5 times... the phone rings and rings.. no one picks up and no machine. How can i make them stop calling????
These people called me once every week or two this time last year, sometimes as a real person and other times as a recorded message. Every time, though, they asked for somebody named Dana Cox (who I am not). When it was a real person, I told them several times I have no idea who Dana Cox is, but they wouldn't take "no" for an answer. After a while, they gave up and stopped calling, but I just got another call from them today (as a recorded message), asking for the same Dana Cox. Idiots.........
did not leave a message. I also have recently opened a UPS account
This is a scam collection agency that DOES NOT follow the law when trying to collect a debt. Make sure they have the proper SS# DO NOT give ANY information. I'm telling you DO NOT give them any information. Here is their info: CCA (does not stand for anything) 700 Longwater Dr. Norwell, MA 02061 They state they are a "Accounts receivable management company" or in other words a Collections Agency. They must give you their collection agency license number and must prove to YOU that you are who they are looking for. If it is the wrong person tell them to stop calling you and they must.
Received two different calls with two different "call back" numbers. The 800-880-3395 identified the caller as "CCA" and said it was about my checking account. But, they called my husband's cell phone! The other number 800-455-8026said to call "Michael" concerning an important business matter. Both calls came to my husband's cell phone. I tried calling "Michael" back and the recording answered with "CCA" as being the company name. Not quite sure why they are calling concerning a "checking account" as mine is not even with a bank but a credit union.
Definitely a collection agency calling for someone (not known), they talk VERY LOUD!
Recording kept playing and being interrupted. Asked for someone but not my name. Said to return a call the "Zack" but didn't give a number.
800-896-4539 - is the number to CCA. they are a collection agency based out of norwell ma. they collect for several companies. (dept of education loans, private loans, cell phones, medical, etc.)
Thank you for your comments as this number called my unlisted number and has been leaving harassing automated messages at all hours of day and night. I have never heard of this company before and believe that the comment about important business being conducted by a person to be totally true. Thank you again and I will be avoiding this number's calls in future.
Called and said they were looking for one of my neighbors gave me her name and address, the address is on my street but I dont know her.
I have fun with these people....I try to pick them up for a date...or...whatever is needed to piss them off
Belongs to co. called CCA. Automated message does not identify. Person they were looking for is not connected to my phone number in any way. Did not identify how they got my phone number.
They want the last four digits of my husband's social or date of birth. They were practically yelling at me because I did not tell them my husband's personal information.
These people called my place of employment numerous times but since I'm only actually in the office once every week or two they were basically harassing my coworkers. When I finally called them I immediately got a bad vibe. The woman said it was regarding an AT&T balance (which I, like the other person above have a current account with AT&T). I told her I had already disputed the charge a couple of times via mail (which I have, and had no response validating the debt) and that it was ridiculous that they are calling my work and she said "No, what's ridiculous is your $55 debt you refuse to pay." I got PISSED and told her I was on my employer's time and if they call me at work again I will file harassment charges. At this point there is no evidence that this debt is legit, and there's no way I'm giving anyone a dime until I see proof. I may just file a complaint with the FTC (www.ftc.gov) and I think everyone else should do the same.
did not leave a message... I also have recently opened a UPS account
YOU ARE RECIEVING CALLS FROM A COMPANY BY THE NAME OF CCA - THEY COLLECT ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT THINGS FROM MEDICAL TO STUDENT LOANS - THEY ARE LOCATED IN MA,GA,TN,CA - BEST THING TO DO IS TO CALL THEM AND FIND OUT WHY THEY ARE CONTACTING YOU - IF IT'S THE WRONG # - LET THEM KNOW AND THEY WILL REMOVE IT - IF IT'S THE RIGHT # PAY BACK YOUR BILL!!!
I did sign up for a UPS account for my biz last week so it looks like this must be them calling. No message left.
This is a collection agency used by Verizon Wireless
I got a call from these morons. I spent the whole lunch hour calling and harassing them right back. The idiot Mark rimbrower was getting pissed off, but I just kept calling them from another number asking for Bill. I told him that if Bill does not quit screwing around and get back to work, he's going to be FIRED.
DO CALL THEM BACK! HARASS THEM. I AM GOING TO DO THIS EVERYDAY!!! Then lets all fill up the voice mail box with music, profanity and other obnoxious stuff. Come on, they can garass us, we can give it right back. I AM!!
Left a pre recorded message saying that the want a call back and they assume since my answering machine picked up the call that I was "guilty" and was assumed that I was the "culprit"
Do not answer the phone with these creeps. Their legal knowledge is less than honest.
I do not like these calls, so I call them back each time and tell them to "buy my new anti-itch powder, 3 containers for $10. Can I have your credit card number and home address please." Some time this works, at least I feel better.
Caller ID said "Tennessee". Asked if I knew someone named Ed Walsh, and I said no. No response from caller, so I hung up. One day I'm going to say "Yes, I know him!" just to see what happens, lol.
Grainger is your source for pressure gauge, pressure gauges are devices,生产不锈钢压力表、电接点压力表、隔膜压力表.
I recently opened UPS Acct. When you get a call that is dead air it is an auto dialer doing the work. The auto dialer dials a bunch of numbers and then when you answer it gives the call to the first available telemarketer. If non are available then you get dead air or if you wait - it may get picked up. I never wait but it helps to know that it is an auto dialer - ie. sales call and I just hang up.
picked up by voice mail. Failed to leave a message.

Call is a Collections Agency for Verizon Wireless Customers
Recorded announcement saying that call is a message for ******** (not me). This is a collection agency. Have previously received numerous similar calls from 708-342-2370 and 877-384-0290 claiming to have "an important business message" for the same person. Don't know if this is a different agency or the same one using a different number.
Report them to the FTC. (www.ftc.gov). I did. I don't know if it will do any good, but if they are legit you would expect them to give out more information about themselves. If they are not legit maybe this will help
Called my home at 7 p.m. claiming to be trying to get in touch with "a relative of mine" in Roundrock, Texas. I said I had no relatives there and they hung up.
Called to confirm a reference, did not know the company or the person of referenc
