The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want

emmauspa calls from 8 phone numbers:
Called yesterday and today. Number below for customer service does not work any more. New number is 800-848-4735. But of course no one is available at this time to speak to me. I bet there is another whole room of assholes on the other end of a auto dialer.
They're back! Feb 2013.
These people call every day and ignore requests to be put on a "do not call list".
rodale customer service says their telemarketer is making the calls. would not tell the name of telemarketer. to bad, i would really like to call the telemarketer. a little pay back, you know?
rodaleinc.com/customer-service lists phone numbers for them. maybe this will help.
Rodale, inc When I call back message says your call did not go through. This must be one of their solicitor numbers. You can't call back to request them to take you off their list. They never leave a message and we don't owe them anything.
Lonestar, Czarnecki, and Riddick: Please stop setting bad examples of how to use this site. These forums are strictly for call recipients to share their findings. They are NOT direct open channels to the phone bank boiler rooms we comment upon. The magic phrase you want for salesmen is ''Place my number *on* your Do Not Call list''. Unlike Mike, I would not rely on email or voice with a hostile caller but send my demands via USPS Certified with return card.
The problem I've seen with Rodale is more complex. In the past they've apparently been in trouble for dumping books and mags on people and then making payment demands and/or tossing the accounts to debt collectors. It may be a result of ''negative option marketing'', and your failure to stop the merchandise deliveries when you had the chance. You need to read those reply forms thoroughly before you sign on to anything.
Now, if you receive merchandise enirely on the sender's volition, a long established USPS regulation says it's yours as a gift. If you get hassled with collection calls, you may have state laws to help with Rodale and the FDCPA to help combat third party collectors. Related discussion is linked below, regarding the shifty Boardroom Inc. and its ''Bottom Line'' brand of publications.
Leave me the hell alone.
stop calling here o.k. my dad will know it i am his son all right let me know i am sorry about payment all right don' t call here again thank you.
This is a business line and I would appreciate you removing our number from your call list 2813346520
Apparently if you buy one of Rodale publications, you get on their phone call solicitation list. My solution is to stop all publications from Rodale. E-mail telling them to stop sending pubs, and put me on their DO NOT CALL LIST. Inform them that any future calls from any of their numbers will be reported to the National Do Not Call, and $500.00 for each violation, as allowed by law, will be requested. Also any publication received in the future will be considered a unconditional gift. Hit them where it hurts: in the pocket, so it cost them money when they trouble you. Just my thoughts. How do I get them to stop??? They have called numerous times. After 2 rings

Crystal is either another kneejerking "Pay Yuz Bills" troll or part of the debt industry herself.
610-967-7291, anonymous, from Enmaus, PA: these thoughtless, inconsiderate harassers call 4 - 6 times per day and they never leave a message. These people processed full payment on 12/15/10 and yet, 12/27/10 they are STILL placing continual, sensless, no-message-leaving phone calls to my HOME: I will NEVER order anything from Rodale Books again.
Crystal, how old are you? 12?
stop ordering their books or not paying for the books you did order and they won't bug you anymore idiot!
At least one phone call a day (as late as 8:30 pm) and never leaves a message
They call multiple times per week and when I answer there is no response. Calling that number gets a "not in service" type message. Also, they do not leave voice messages and call at all times of the day. I suspect it is because they sent me a Bottom Line book that I did not order. They do this every year and their mail requests for payment do not include a payment or SASE.
www.rodale.com this is their web site. try and call management and keep leaving messages. 1-800-848-4735 is their number. www.rodaleinc.com here is the link for their management team. try leaving a bunch of message with them. Their web site talks about privacy rights. I am still laughing. This is from their web site.
Mailing address: 33 East Minor Street, Emmaus, PA 18098, and we can be reached via e-mail at: www.rodale.com You can reach customer service by telephone at 866-387-0509.
Good luck to all.
calls constantly never leaves a message
I have rec'd 6 calls...who are they?
The number belongs to Rodale press. It is likely you have done business with them and provided your phone number. They are calling to sell additional publications. The easiest course of action is to answer the call, and wait for a person to respond. Ask them to remove your number from their calling list. They will do so without argument.
They have been reported to the DNC List more then once but they continue to call! Do not want to do business with them and their calls need to cease!
Second time they have called in the past week - they call on Saturday. I believe I've posted this number before to Who Called Me & to the Do Not Call List! I will report them again!
Unknown. As long as they don't leave a message, we will NEVER answer!
Received first call from 610-967-7990 today at 10:30 am (PDT). Caller ID identified caller as "Pennsylvania". I was not home to answer the call and the caller did not leave a message. Learned from other posts they are Rodale and that they are relentless. From personal experience I know this to be true (the relentless part). Years ago I subscribed to Prevention Magazine (also a Rodale publication) and got something in the mail from them almost daily for years afterwards. I vowed to never order anything from Rodale ever again. Recently I ordered Women's Health magazine from them and will certainly not renew the subscription. I had no idea when I ordered the magazine that it was connected with Rodale. While their publications are worthwhile, I find their ram-it-down-your-throat marketing tactics to be obnoxious! Some of their other publications are Men's Health, Runners World, Running Times, Bicycling, MountainBIKE, Organic Gardening.
I ordered a veterinary book from Prevention magazine a while ago and the invoice indicated that payment be sent to Rodale Inc.
They are probably selling books.
No message, just keeps calling...Stop calling
Here is a new link to ask them to quit calling. I used their sample email address instead of my own:
I have also had good luck in turning telemarketers into the BBB of their area, it works and FAST! I will use it on them if their customer service web site doesn't work. BBB likes to see that you have tried all of your options before you use them.
This is the publisher for magazines such as Prevention, Men's Health, Women's Health, Runner's World, Organic Gardening, etc. Their headquarter is in Emmaus, PA.
EMMAUS PA calls have been coming at least once a day (sometimes more) for at least three months now. Good to know the "Who called us" site is out there. Now I know who it is that I'm ignoring! Rodale, go bother someone else!
STOP calling us...have NEVER dealt with Rodale Press
There was a bit of silence after I said hello, so I decided to hang up, just as I hung up I heard someone say hello, so I'm gonna assume our number (on the do not call list) is on an endless loop of calling software somewhere....sigh....we get this caller often and at least once a day....
Leaves NO message, but keeps calling. Looked them up and I have never ordered any magazines from them, ie: Prevention, Mens Health, exercise...etc.
i got a call then i called them back and it said that this number is no longer in service this is a recording
Talked to them 5 times already in the last 10 business days. Keeps calling 2 - 3 times a day. TOLD them to take us off of their call list. Fed up with this crap.... going to report them.
Ordered once from them a long time ago. Not interested anymore! They need to stop calling!
Keeps calling but never leaves a message... No idea who it is.....
FYI I just renewed Readers Digest last week. I called them and they evidently share info with other Mags as well. They removed me from their list to share along with my phone number. DO YOU GET MAGS????
I called them back and talked with Christine who called them Rodale books. She said they were a telemarketer for books. I told her they were breaking the law by calling me because I was on the do not call list. She was nice and told me she would add my number to their list to not call. Call came @9:53 am on 4/21/2010. I guess we will see if it helps. With the amount of calls I receive, I think the National do not call list must be run by the U.S.Congress. It is surely not working.
I have recieved hundreds of calls from them during the past year. I called their 800 number (thanks Dee) and had them remove my number from all of their telemarketing branches. My wife had bought prevention mag.
I hope she will buy mags through another source.
My caller ID said Emmaus, PA. No message left. I called back number and was Rodale Books. Was told to hold and my call would be answered in the order that it came in. I get this about once a month and would really like for it to stop.
Leaves no message. I am on the DNC list which evidently does not WORK!
Left no message and no ID. From Emmaus, PA
Calls everyday. Bought books thru Amazon.com and made it on their "list". Now I'm going to shop only at stores and only pay cash. Why do stores need your phone number and email? To harass you later by phone!!!! Just say "NO"!
They called, I let VM pick it up, they left no msg.
They asked for me, but I told them there is no one here by that name. They apologized and hung up. (I'm on the DNC list. Only mags I get are AARP & Men's Health.) Could be political caller, tho...?
JUST KEEPS CALLING, NEVER LEAVES A MESSAGE...
called left no message....Caller id said Rodale Inc.
who is this
Rings = I don't answer - no message.
My husband has a subscription to Men's Health.
There a book company and call if you've ordered books from them.To get you to buy more.
They call at least a couple times a week, but leave no message. Glad I found this site. I will continue to screen my calls & let this number go unanswered.
Rodale Inc calls two or three times per day.
Anyone know who they are?
I took Dee's advice (from September) and I called 800-914-9363 and asked that my number be removed. They were very polite and agreed to do so. They filled out a form while I was on the line. They did have my number because I had been a previous subscriber to prevention magazine and also ordered a book from them. But I explained that I am now "finished" wanting any of their services. Very nice young man helped, and I no longer receive daily calls.
I have received calls from this company the past 3 days in a row. When I answered it was an automated system. I was not given any options to speak with anyone live in order to request they quit calling.
My number is on the do not call list...
and I have ask them (MORE THAN ONCE) to remove me from their calling list.
I have now put At&t trace on these calls, they will stop!!!
One more notice to Rodel........ You can keep calling all you want, we do not answer our phone anymore if we do not know the number, so save your time and move on to the next one.
Company keeps calling
They call every day for the past two weeks - no message
If you are on the DNC list and receive calls like this, they can still call you if you just tell them not to call anymore. If you say "Take my number off your calling list" they can still call. You must say specifically "Place my number on your do not call list." Also, ask them to email you a copy of their "do not call" policy. The calls will stop.
"They call daily and never leave a message. I haven't answered one of their calls, but after reading this, I think it may have something to do with my recent subscription to Prevention magazine."
I somehow began getting this magazine. Never ordered it. Also am getting ESPN. Don't know how. Must be related.
Maybe I will answer next time. But I'm getting rid of my landline soon so it might not matter.
Received calls multiple times. They called Monday, Sept 15, 2008 at 11:53am.
I called 800-914-9363 and asked that my number be removed. They were very polite and agreed to do so.
Rodale doesn't have the sense to just quit, I never answer unknown or unsolicited calls. And what's the deal with hanging up on answering machines? I hate excessive laws; But there should be a law against companies not leaving a message. That would fix them, they'd need to hire twice the staff.
If you are on the do not call list, you should tell them. If they call back after that, get their info- name, address, etc and REPORT THEM to your state's attorney's office!
They have called several times, usually in the late evening. They do not leave any message.
Have called and hung up 4 times now. Twice yesterday. The one today was a recording stating they were telemarketers and would be calling me back. Have blown them in to Do Not Call all 4 times now.
How much do you want to bet it won't matter?
What a blessing that we have caller ID. Anytime I receive a unknown call I donot answer. I always check on here for the number and it is always telemarketers. Never fails. You would think they would stop calling when you never answer, but they still call. lol.
I do not subscribe to any of the magazines listed above. I just took out a subscription to Sunset Magazine and that is when my calls began. At least once a day.
I have Comcast Digital phone service and they have a neat feature called call rejection. Recently everytime I get a repeat call from one of these goones I add them to the list and zap... their calls no longer come through to my phone.
Says it's a book company I've bought a book from and trying to get you to buy more.
Okay so scroll down there is a listing for an opt out form they will stop calling you if you fill this out. SOmeone else listed an email address send an e-mail. They are health magazine company. Here is the opt out from dopey link www.rodale.com
did not leave message
Insist on calling me even though I have never bought anything from them or any of their magazines or books. Asked them politley to stop calling, they don't even have my name right. They still call at least once a day for the past two weeks. 13 calls recorded on caller id. Is there ANY WAY to get them to stop??!!
PLEASE SUBMIT A COMPLAINT ABOUT 610-967-7991 FOR EACH AND EVERY CALL TO THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL WEBSITE AT
IT IS TIME FOR US ALL TO BAND TOGETHER TO SHUT THESE IDIOTS DOWN!
Rodale's brands are Best Life, Bicycling, Men's Health, Mountain Bike, Organic Gardening, Women's Health, Prevention, Runner's World, Running Times, and Rodale Books. If you subscribe to any of those, you may be called. You can opt-out of phone calls on their website: www.rodale.com/cs/privacy.html
They were some sort of Book Company by the name of Rodale, Inc. and it is a book company but they never did say anything. I don't even have an account number with this perticular Book Company Rodale, Inc. and how they got my unlisted phone number in order to call me I don't know, but I don't want them to call me on my unlisted telephone number ever again. Please not that in your records.
This company name appears on my caller ID frequently (I never answer unwanted callers). I read from the comment list that this is a publisher and I recall that I have ordered a number of health type publications from them. I wish they would stop calling. If I/we want something from you, we will generate the call or whatever it takes to do so. NO ONE wants 'unsolicited calls' PERIOD! It only serves to tick us off and I will hesitiate to continue to do business with any company/organization who finds it necessary to contact me by phone to solicit something more from me. CEASE AND DESIST this practice!
I think I answered once, because I was fed up with their calling, whoever they are. Now, when I see the number and Emmaus, PA, I simply do not answer. This has been going on for over a month.
Between 5/14 and 5/27 I have received 5 (or more)calls from this number. I could have erased some from my caller ID. I am very annoyed with them. They never leave a message and I don't want to buy whatever they are selling.
They call a couple times a day and never leave a message. Annoying! Does anybody know how to make it stop?
They called awith number only in Called ID - NO name. The man asked for me by name and said he was with Prevention magazine which I subscribe to. I told the man to remove me from their calling list, that I was on the National DNC list and that I did not want to renew my subscription. He was nice enough and said OK and goodbye.
You can add your number to Rodale's do not call list here: www.rodale.com
this is rodale publishing and I too subscribe to Runner's world, so it is probably them trying to set up a subscription order
Rodale Press, pretty sure it's because of my subsc. to Prevention mag. Too bad they don't tell you how to prevent unwanted callers!
they never leave a message but keep calling..
Well I submitted a request to be removed from their list back in June of last year and it worked for awhile. Now they're back to calling us again. Not sure what other recourse we have. This is really annoying.
Rodale makes sense. Just cancelled a subscription.
I know it's Rodale - I did a lookup. No message.
They've called me several times too over the past couple of weeks. Turns out they're selling some kind of health book. (Not interested...) I'm on the Do Not Call list, but because I have a subscription with Prevention magazine (owned by Rodale), they're allowed to call me.
got a call from this today , seems now everyday different calls come in from all over and were on the do not call list..........
I've been keeping a log for these guys. I got a call Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and today. Actually, NO telemarketers called Sunday. It's pretty much harassment; what can I do to get them to stop calling?
They call day after day, never leave a message. Have no idea why, I have NOT subscribed to anything nor want to. Pain in the butt! I filed a complaint today for this and another at the Do Not Call List website.
In doing a google search on Rodale, it appears to be a magazine company.
Rodale is a publisher. The web site is www.rodale.com. If you have ever had a subsription to Prevention, Men's Health, Women's Health or other magazines they publish you are a customer and they can call you. Likewise, as the largest independent book publisher in the nation, they will call you if you have purchased one of their books (such as: A Inconvenient Truth by VP Al Gore) apparently even if you bought it through Amazon.com.
Did not leave message and did not answer phone. 11/20 at 2:58 p.m.
THese people SUCK! I hate them they call all the time I also get runners world. It was free from entering a road race. Free my ass!!!!!!!!!!!!
So frustrating. I'm on the do not call list!
They have been calling me and hanging up without leaving a message for the passed 3 days. I don't care if they're associated with the magazines I subscribe to, they have no right to harrass me.
Come up as Rodale, Inc. Didn't leave message on the machine. Noticed my husband just got a new subscription...don't remember what magazine it was for though.
They have called several times. If my wife answers they try to sell her more Prevention stuff. If I answer they hang up.
So, it's Rodale, eh? They've been calling me daily, never leave a message on my machine. I've bought health books from them before, so maybe they got my number from my personal check? Anyway, i'm getting sick and tired of it!
I subscribe to Runner's World and they call me too.
I've recieved calls from this UNKNOWN number for months. They never leave a message. I'm on the "DO NOT CALL" list but it doesn't stop them.
RODALE, INC. out of Emmaus, PA is a magazine/book publisher
They called twice in one day. Once at 10:30am and then again at 7:10 pm. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message on my machine.
UNKNOWN rodale inc????3x per mo
these idiots prank me constantly i hate them
I've ordered magazines from them, but they keep calling. Stop calling me.
They call me every day. Making me crazy.
This message is definately for Donna who is disabled. I had the same thing happen to me only a different magazine company harassing me all the time. I wrote to my state attorney and filed a complaint. Phone calls stopped. So that is what you all need to do. Good luck to you all & God Bless.
Called them back. Did not send any caller ID info, *67. Got live person. Asked them: "Why do you ignorant c***suckers keep bothering me?" They hung up.
Got another call from them. It's Saturday. I'm going to mark the calendar and see if they are setting any kind of pattern.
These folks call 2-3 times per day never lleave a message.
Number is register but that doesn't stop them.
Calls come in from this 'UNKNOWN' number about once a month. I have my home phone forwarded to my cell phone and then set the cell phone to recognize the number and give it a "silent" ring. I have done this and have named the calls "UNKNOWN A" and then "UNKNOWN B" and so forth and so on. It seems to work like a charm since the "DO NOT CALL" list isn't working like it should.
They are persistent.
I suspect they want us to renew our Subscription to "Prevent"
I found an opt-out on the Rodale website at www.rodale.com ... I have filled it out and hope that it will eliminate these annoying calls.
I ordered Prevention magazine also, so must be how they got my number. I am on the do not call list also. I will not answer when they call.
Got this call today at 11:15. We are on the National Do Not Call List. Have never done business with these people.
Keep calling and do not leave a message. Answered once. Asked for a person that was not here and they hung up.
I subscribe to Prevention magazine; recognized Emmaus as the location of their magazine and checked the phone number. It begins 510-967. They called on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
Called on 4/18 4/19 4/23 4/26 again on 5/2. Didn't answer remembered # from last year. I subscribe to Bicycling and Mens Health.
Thanks for letting me know who these pests are! The wife ordered magazines that we don't even read. With this info, at least I know not to ever order another magazine!!!
They've called multiple times and not left a message. I subscribe to Bicycling, so they must be calling to sell a renewal. Not a good method!
File a complaint with:
I let the answering machine pick up this unidentified call - no message.
put me on the no call list
This number calls everyday. Do not answer because the first time answered it they wouldn't say anything.so now we just don't answer and they never leave message on machine. It says Rodale Inc. We are on DNR list but that obviously doesn't apply to these people. They are persistant.I'll say that for them. But I am sick of them calling and have no idea how to get them to stop. This is ridiculous that companies call people repeatedly throughout the day. It interupts my rest. I am disabled and spend about 95% of day in bed under DR's order due to health. DO NOT NEED THIS! Can anyone make them stop?
They called and I answered and they asked for me and I said I wasn't here! I didn't know who they were, but from what others said I guess I should have said they had the wrong number, cause they will probably call ALL the time now.
These people call all the time and never leave a msg. This morning I answered and there was no one there. My number is posted on the Do Not Call Registry so why can't these people be stopped from calling. Seems like desperate measures trying to solicit business.
They call at least 5 times a day and its all times even after 8 pm seriously!! people have children. We are on the do not call list
Since I subscribed to a magazine, they wanted me to take a survey about the service
I called them back. They answered and I immediately spoke with a living person, which is rare for these types of numbers. I asked her to remove me from their list and she asked for my info to do so. She said that I've been removed. It was a better experience than 99% of these things. However, we'll see if they actually really remove it.
unsolicited phone calls from a Verizon land line in Emmaus, PA.
K was right. They are a magazine publisher and send out some pretty big named mags of which I get (Prevention and Men's Health). That's why they're calling, so DNC list doesn't apply.
My son ordered books from them but cancelled. Today, they called MY CELLPHONE! WTF! I have nothing to do with these idiots!
who are they?
Call their asses back and have them remove you from their list. They use the BS excuse that you've ordered a magazine or something from them in the past. Only question is "when have you ever put your phone number on a magazine subscription...never?"
This is a magazine publisher. They called me and didn't leave a message, but I know that I subscribe to a magazine they publish. They were probably just calling with a survey or something. If you're in there customer files, then the Do Not Call List probably doesn't apply.
I don't know the number offhand, but have been seeing Rodale Inc. on my caller ID for MONTHS. They call probably about 4-5 times a week, including saturdays, and sometimes twice a day. They NEVER EVER leave messages. I used to order Runner's World, but then cancelled it. Even though I have returned many of those annoying "renew now" cards with the word "CANCEL" written on it, they never seem to get it (even though i've sent at least one using certified mail), and still send me bills, saying i'm overdue.
I did not answer
they hang up and ignore the do not call list
I subscribe to prevention magazine and have purchased a Rodale book in the past

these assholes do NOT stop calling even after I tell them verbally. DIE!
Telephone spammers that hang up everytime. They never stop calling.
yep--must be Runners World--i subscribe to it also.
I have ordered 1 book from them but it was through the mail and I did not give my phone number out on the order. I am on the "Do Not Call" list so I will be reporting them. I didn't answer the phone, but since I have no business with them at present I consider this a solicitation for business.
Have not ordered from this company and I am on Do Not Call list.
They call daily and never leave a message. I haven't answered one of their calls, but after reading this, I think it may have something to do with my recent subscription to Prevention magazine.
We are on the do not call list, and they do not leave a message, but have called several times, this time, after 7PM, on a Sunday eve, November 5, 2006. It did say Rodaleand was to zip code 19958.
Tired of getting all the calls - some are numerous in one day. No messages left just keeps calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling, and calling....
Never leaves a message
They started calling everyday this week and never leave a message.
Call at least once every day. Never answered; no message.
They called and when I answered it was a recording saying the phone number and that they called to tell me about a new product and sorry they missed me. I answered the phone-not my answering machine. This is ridiculous!
Call all the time... never leave a message. Pain in the ....
These criminal parasites have been calling for MONTHS, and never leave a message. I'm about to call the number with my cell phone and see what happens.
I did a web search and this came up:
Rodale Press (incorporated as Rodale Inc.) is one of the world's largest publishers of health and fitness related books and magazines.
I subscribe to "Runners World" which is published by Rodale Inc...am guessing they called to try to get me to re-up my subscription
Calls received 2-3 times per week & leave no message!
2nd call today mostly @ 8:43pm Im on the do not call list. will now file complant!
Called at 10:14 A.M. Left no message
They also called once before. Thank you.
I've not ordered from you and I'm on the 'Do Not Call' list!
Correction, it was on Monday!
2nd time they called - this time Sunday at 10:47 am. No message, wasn't home when they called.
