The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want

davidhart calls from 2 phone numbers:
It was too much to ask that one WCU thread on a debt collector could pass without another kneejerker making the tiresome "Pay Youse Bills" remark. Oh no, RAB _never_ hounds the wrong person or chases illegitimate debt or tries to con peers and neighbors into skip tracing. A simple search on the name does not immediately dig up reams of complaints of misconduct in the first fifteen results, riiiight? Pull the other one.
Comments from "Jane" over two years ago were mistaken, unless she'd clumsily referred only to her own state. Under Federal regs collectors must call within the same window as under TCPA, 08:00 to 21:00 in your time zone, and no day of the week or year is off limits. Calls to employers, or anyone else thought to be of help, are not forbidden. Collectors must be first notified not to pester workplaces to render such calls illegal. In fact, the law grants you total control over direct contact.
If you are receiving repeated, misdirected, and/or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, the Federal law which regulates collector behavior and provides you simple tools for your own defense. Learn your rights and first response tactics at FTC-dot-gov. See also your state laws for additional support.
You're not paying your bills. This is a CREDIT COLLECTION agency. Don't act surprised when you don't pay your bills that someone calls you.
These faggots called my house to get me to rat out my brother! Can you believe these bastards? They weren't very nice to me either. I am gonna be ready next time they call!
numerous call all day long from this number then they will call back on unknown and unavailable. When you answer it is a computer telling you to hold. If you try to find out who they are they will not tell you anything! Very spooky, should be a law against these people especially since you don't really know what they are trying to collect for?
Obviously a creditor, calling to try to find a person I haven't spoken to in over 15 years. I told them I'm sorry I couldn't help them, but I haven't the foggiest idea where she is now. They apologized and removed my number as a possible contact for that person. I really hate that collection agencies can do that, try to track people by bothering neighbors and old associates.
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT PAY REGIONAL ADJUSTMENT BUREAU. PAY IT DIRECTLY WITH YOUR CREDITOR. DONT EVEN TALK TO THEM JUST CALL YOUR CREDITOR. TRUST ME !!!!!
Rings three times and ends call.
Calls 4 to 6 times per day.
This person called me once and I hung up on them so they called back asking for "Maria Doll" or that's what it sounded like. I told her she had the wrong number and she said, "But do you know her?" I said No, I don't know her. She just said thank you (instead of what she should have said which was "I'm terribly sorry to have disturbed you." What a rude person. Didn't identify herself, either.
They are rude and harass you if you are not the person with the debt but happen to share the same name. They have no respect and act like a bunch of thugs. I for one will be reporting them to the FTC
This call is from Regional Adjustment Bureau. They are a collections agency. One of the agencies they collect for is Americredit. They will harass you and will not cease calling. They use an automated calling service that redials numbers every 3 hours. If you managed to talk to a real person, they are rude, and have resorted to using foul language, verbal threats, and have even threatened to send a person to prison (which they do NOT have the ability to do!) This company has also resorted to calling neighbors, workplaces, and anyone living within a certain distance from the original debtor, regardless of whether the phone's owner knows that person or not.
A collection agency calling the wrong number - but they keep on calling despite that. I understand this is a collection agency by the name of Regional Adjustment Bureau. The internet address is: www.rabinc.com Please read "The Sociologist's" comment below = great information! :)
I get calls day and night from this number and it is getting to the point where I cut the ringer off. I baby sit and they are always waking up the kids when I get them to sleep.Once I returned the call and ask the woman at the other end who I was talking with. She replied, Did someone call you. Well, Hell, if I'm returning the call , does that meen she is a blonde. Wake up and lets try to find a way to stop these stupid callers.
These idiots called my elderly Parents today to get them to deliver a message across the street for the son of the people living there. The son lives in another city. I am pursuing an elder abuse complaint, among other things. For those of you looking for someone to call, use the following information from the Tennessee Secretary of State Corporation database:

REGIONAL ADJUSTMENT BUREAU, INCORPORATED (THE) REPORT HISTORY
These 'people' called me 5 or more times a day for 2 weeks. When I would answer the phone, they would hang up! Finally I called them and they said they were an 'agency' looking for a ron borraso. When I told them I did not know any ron borraso, they said that he was my neighbor. They wanted me to give him a message to call them. I told them that my name does not have 'messenger' in it and hung up. They continued to call until I told them to either stop or face charges. They finally stopped. It's amazing that these low lifes can stoop to this type of low!
Yeah. Regional Adjustment Bureau. Blind call, asked up front for my social security number after butchering my name. They were looking for my father, who had spotless credit his entire life. Oh yeah, and it's October, and he passed away in April. They've also called asking for Sophie (my last name.) I had fun with that. Sophie is an English Bulldog.
This woman called and told me they were the Litigating team, they said my account (Capitol One) has passed through the collections department and has reached them. She was SO nasty to me! Then she wanted my bank account info so that my balance could be taken right out of my account! I told her no and she said if I didnt give her my bank info I will be taken to court and could face jail time! I told her to mail me the info. She was SO mean and wouldnt give mer HER name.
They called me 31 times without leaving a message. Nuts.
that number called my phone and i called it back it was a lady named michelle king and i dont know why she called my cell im not even 16 yet
This number belongs to a collection agency called Regional Adjustment Bureau in Memphis TN. (Google it) If they are calling you at work or even home and you tell them to stop and they don
I dealt with one of these fools tonite...called her every name in the book....they don't understand that dead people can't pay bills.
they just started calling yesterday. have called twice during the last hour today. calls from numbers i don't know go unanswered so i don't know who they are and i don't care. after finding out who they are from the other comments on this site, it's just another telephone number for me to add to the endless scumbag list. is the phone company or the government EVER going to shut these assholes down or is this the punishment that law abiding citizens in a free country gets for having a phone in their home?
they call several times a day. NEVER leave a msg only an "800" number, The message always says, "IT'S VERY IMPORTANT" to return this call TODAY. When I called and asked who keeps calling I was asked who I was and put on hold for 15 minutes and the I hung up. They need to identify themselves when calling other peoples homes.
Called for "Bradley" (not anyone known to me). Speaker mumbled but it sounded like he identified himself as Jay Norris or Jake Norris. Did not explain his purpose for calling. Only said it was important that I call him back at 800.752.3916, extension 5128.
Got me as to why they're calling. I don't have any outstanding debt. At all. Must be trying to find someone I know. Didn't leave a voicemail. Called my damn *CELL* number.
This is a collection agency for Capitol One Finance. I answered these calls, provided information to verify my identity and then was told that the Regional Adjustment Bureau was authorized to collect on a debt I owed to Capitol One Credit Card Services.
They are possibly under contract to others companies, but seemed to want me to believe that Capitol One was their only customer.
Called asking if I knew a neighbor who had "fallen out of touch". Reportedly very concerned for failure to respond to phone calls or letters, could I get a message to them about a "very important business transaction" they had been interested in.
Then let them know you'll be contacting a consumer lawyer, or pretend your related to one.
See more of your rights...........www.naca.net
Almost forgot, when creditors call your place of employment they are also breaking the law. Don't be shy, let them know this when they call you. Ask them for their name and number, time and date of call, then tell them you'll be keeping a log of everytime they brake the law.
by law collection agencies can only call monday -friday 8 am - 8pm. When they call you on weekends they are breaking the law!
they left a voice mail with a "3 second pause" to stop listening if you're not the person they're looking for. can they really tell if you listen and you're NOT the person? i deleted it immediately.
A woman called me today from 800-752-3916. She asked if this was the _____ residence and I said yes. She then asked if I knew my neighbor at the house across the street. I do, but I told her that I didn't. Why would an agency call MY home for my neighbor?? Must be a collection service of some kind.
Phone already rang twice then no message.
Left a voicemail on my cell with no Company name, just said "Call me back IMMEDIATELY". I am not a child and expect a certain amount of respect when asked to call someone. I don't even know what this is about.
Asked me if this was the Timothy C... mangled my last name... residence? I said yes, then she asked some guy was my neighbor? I said no. Then she asked if I knew him? I said no. Then she asked if he was a relative? At this point I asked who was calling and she hung up.
Although looking for my ex the message was to call... Shannon Hall at 1-800-752-3916. It's very important.
I get 15 calls a day from this number. I answered it a couple weeks ago and the guy, who didn't identify himself said that someone would be at my house to collect monies. What monies? Then he said that he knew that I had the money cause my bank account had $3000. I wish. Who's bank account is he looking at. I hung up..... A*&holes
Brian called for a former co-worker. When I told them she no longer worked here they asked if someone could relay a message. Brian was polite as I told him I could make him no promises as I did not have any personal information on the person and could check with someone else who still worked here.
Have received two messages today. Very important you call by the end of the day......Have no intentions of calling back after reading the other comments!
My neighbor knocked at my door and said a Vallery Tatum wanted to reach me. She said to them you are a neighbor and I need you to take this number 800-752-3916 and have them call me. Well never saying who they where , I wont call them after reading other complaints.
My mother-in-laws neighbor is being harrassed about a man on their street. She's elderly & they keep calling asking why she (at age 88) can't walk down the street & get a hold of this guy. The caller was very mean to this poor lady.
They left a message with my neighbors who are not family and have only lived there a short time. This seems to be a major invasion of privacy.
Alison keeps calling me at work after I've asked three times for them to stop. And the cc isn't even in my name-it's in my exhusband's name
might i add i have over 100 missed calls from them in the past month.
Cant you do anything for harrasment, like sue them, then ill pay off what i get to them? ha.
They called and left a voicemail saying theres a package at my door...................... it was an unmarked envolope with no return to address and all it said was in handwriting my name. I threw it away, was kind of creepy!!
Receievd a call at work insisting that I call by 9 PM Central time to a Dana Miller to settle debt or further collections will pursue.
Bad Bad colectors..They have somehow contacted family in 2 different states (Non matching last names) and bug them to give up information on the person they are looking for
The voicemails the lady who called me left made it seem like it was a life or death situation. I called back, but I hung up when she wouldn't say what company she was working for.
Caller would not identify what company they were representing and asked for my social security number which i refused to give out. threatened me with me 'these calls will continue'. tried to sound intimidating, but i didn't fall for it.
oh.. and I got this off their website...
Persistence is an essential trait of successful collections. Guaranteed Contacts, a "predictive dialer", provides persistence that collectors cannot manually duplicate. Using Guaranteed Contacts enables our collectors to efficiently and quickly contact account holders.
Guaranteed Contacts dials thousands of numbers each day. Through dialer strategies selected by the computer, telephone numbers to be called are placed in a dialing pool. No-answers are called every 3 hours. Busy signals and redials are called every 10 minutes.
They also collect for Capitol One credit cards. The guy Rick got my son on the phone and asked for my fiancee and when my son told him he was at work he told my son that he used to work with my fiancee in TN. My fiancee has never lived in TN. They try being very sneaky...
Standard message...it is very important that you return my call. Blah, blah, yeah, yeah.
This number actually was trying to get a hold of me but called one of my buddies that live 300 miles away. He just called me and said that Terry Rice from Regional Claim Adjustment, or Adjuster, was trying to reach me and to call her back on this number. How come they can't find the phone number of the person they are trying to find bu they can reach their neighbors or friends 300 miles away. Fishy.
Collection Agency, assholes, don't deal with them.
It is VERY important that you return my call TODAY. the number is bla bla bla
They left a message on my machine saying that they needed to talk to me by the end of the day "very important!" So I *67 to block my number and I called back. They dont even have the nuts to have a business answering machine.
The number belongs to RAB in Memphis, TN. I called the number back and talked to Rick I asked what they collect for, he states that for several companies but not sure specifically. According to their website they collect for student loans. I don't have one nor have I had anything in the mail from this company.
Someone called me and asked me to leave a note on the door of a guy down the street from me asking them to "Call Michelle King at 1-800-752-3916." Highly sketchy.
