I hate this company. Its ATT calling to offer me more packages. I have told them time and time again that I am not interested and to remove me from the call list. no good. I am also on the Do Not Call list, but I think since I am a customer that doesn't matter. I hate ATT and I wish I could make them stop. I don't owe them any $ but they are as harrasing as a collection agency would be. I like the other users idea of an air horn... lol that is hilarious.

ATT monkeys called every day, but now call twice a day. The airhorn was an excellant investment. Great fun. Blows the headphones off their heads! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
However, when a monkey does not answer when I pick-up I file a complaint at: esupport.fcc.gov
because these "abandoned calls" are illegal. A live representative is required by law to answer withing 2 seconds of the victim answering the phone. ATT does not have enough monkeys to answer every call their computer dials so they drop the call (they hang-up) and call back later. Not legal. Check item 3 on the complaint form: "Telemarketing, Prerecorded Messages and Do-Not-Call". Then check item 4 on the next screen: "'Abandoned Calls' ('Silent Calls,' 'Dead Air Calls' from a telemarketer) and 'War Dialing' received on your residential or business telephone". The definition and 2 second requirements appear to the right.
Just noticed a change in the FCC complaint form that includes complaints about Telephone company telemarketing calls. Just finished another compaint about ATT.
Complain about EVERY ATT telemarketing call EVERY time you receive one at: esupport.fcc.gov The change to the form indicates that others are not pleased with the telemarketing calls. With enough compaints perhaps ATT will be forced to stop harassing their customers.
The AT&T idiots call everyday. My response is always the same. I say F**K YOU A**HOLE STOP CALLING ME then blast them with my airhorn. Then of course they call again the next day. Recently received a postcard from AT&T saying they will begin offering me NEW "products and services" after 33 days. More telemarketing garbage! They included a number to call to stop the new garbage calls (not the current ones), 800-377-9290. IDIOTS!

We called 305-347-5491 and filed a complaint. This is the person in charge of this off-site telemarketers for Bell South. She was shocked that someone had her number. I was extremely upset and told her that I expected these harassing calls to stop immediately. I then went to the AT&T website and filed a formal complaint, listing the time and date I talked to this woman. I filed the complaint through their website so there would be a paper trail. I told them it either stopped immediately or we would put ALL our service away from AT&T. Within one hour I received a call from an AT&T manager. I told her if they were going to hire people in a foreign country to do their marketing they need to pick a country where they at least speak English. I told her it was a joke--people trying to market great telephone service and they can't speak English NOR do they sound like they care. We NEVER got another call from these people. The trick is to leave a paper trail in all your complaints AND to call the number above.
A T & T call to update my bundle. Said my long distance plan was outdated and I could update and realize an overall savings of approx. $12/month. I agreed. Will see what happens.

Received calls from this number twice a day on 4/16, 4/17, 4/18 & 4/19. All were around lunch time (11:30-12 noon) and again in the evening between 6:30 and 7:45. They hang up when machine picks up the call.

First off: PEOPLE PLEASE STOP POSTING YOUR PERSONAL PHONE NUMBERS BELOW!!! Bellsouth does NOT read this board!!! You're putting yourself at serious risk. Post an email addy if you need a reply. I have gotten about 92 calls in 3 months, with NO sign of them stopping. I called again today to demand that they stop, and of course, they're closed. I then called all the other departments that were open, and they all told me the same thing. They don't have the ability to call me... only the main sales dept does. What lies!!! I will be filing a complaint with every authoritative figure I can that is able to deal with this: FCC, Donotcall.gov (while Bellsouth doesn't have to abide by their rules, they do have to stop calling if you request it. They will get fined heavily if you present evidence that they're still calling after they've been told to stop. Send a registered letter. That's proof enough!). I'll also be calling the attorney general

This is a SCAM artist or IDENTITY THEFT ring. They will not take you off their list if you push the corresponding number. You're simply disconnected. If you speak to someone, they will not identify themselves or the company but start demanding information about your vehicle. If you stop them and ask, they will say, "OK", and then hangup on you. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO!

Talked to them today and immediately told them to stop calling. she asked if I was happy with my service. I said I was, but I wanted her to stop calling. I am on the do not call list and they call me everyday more than once. It is very annoying and I wish they would stop calling me.
When I speak to them they are calling for AT&T (used to be Bellsouth in my area). They try selling me packages of stuff I do not need that they say is cheaper than what I have. WRONG! They tell me I'm paying $42/month now and this package only costs $30. So I ask them are they adding insurance and other stuff I have that is not included in the package and they are not. Once they do it costs $5 MORE. They still ask me do I want to do this and save money. When I ask them how is paying $5 MORE than what I pay now for services I do not use helping me save money they ask again do I want to do this and save money. I ask them not to call me anymore but they do every month. And if I do not answer or if I tell them right away I do not want to change and hangup before they can tell me about anything they WILL keep calling. I've complained to AT&T and they told me if I ever wanted to change anything to call them direct. That this is not really AT&T but a company that sells for them. Some help in stopping the calls!

After receiving numerous calls from these ass holes I sent an email to Bellsouth/AT&T and told them in no uncertain terms that I wanted this stopped , and if they did not I would switch to Charter Communication for my phone service. I told them I had enough sense to be able to change my plan...on my own ..if I chose to do so and didnt need their outscourced telemarketeers calling my home 24-7. I've had countless problems with Bellsouth. They sent my bill to a wrong address and didn't cancel my long distance. I thought i was paying my regular bill when i was really paying my long distance bill. The other bill was sent to some post office box.

Someone has been calling me threatening me, hanging up, transferring the call to a rated 'X' number and annoying me throughout the day for sometime. The caller called 1/20/08 between 5:25 and 5:30 p.m. and on the same day at 5:43 p.m. They called 1/21/08 between 8:25 and 8:30 p.m. central standard times. This number continues calling 5 to 10 times daily, at all hours! I never answer when "Tollfree Number" or "Unknown Name" displays on the Answering Machine. Perhaps their machine has developed a Love Affair with my Machine during the past 6 months! ;-)

Called our business, not realizing they were still on the phone, a 3 -4 min voice message was recorded while they talked. Whomever it was, spoke very unprofessionally - very American and with many Americans around - What's funny is, it was hard to believe they were in a call center, seemed as though they were getting lunch. Weird.
These people call me every single day, at a bare minimum of twice per day. This has been going on for longer than I can remember. You know it's bad when you've memorized the phone number of someone you've never actually talked to!
Very funny conversation with an obvious east-Indian person. He said my bill was around $92 a month and that he could save me $15 a month. Sounded good, but I remembered that my bills were more like $86. I was cooking dinner at the time, but was able to find a bill. I told him that his information was wrong. He returned with another package. Unlimited Long Distance (includes Canada), 6.0 Mbps DSL etc for the savings of $87. I asked him how that was a savings since it didn't include taxes and all the 911 and supplemental fees. I basically wasted about 15 minutes of his time and then finally told him that his information about what I pay was incorrect. I'm now going to lodge a direct complaint with Bellsouth.

Leave telephone line open as caller hangs up on unanswered 4th ring. For apps. 45 seconds an unpleasant sound "screams" into my room from the telephone line. Called with sound effects 4 times on Dec. 17th and 4 times on 15th. Isn't this harassment ?
This number calls at least 5 to 6 times a day looking for a person who has been dead for 7 years. The last time I answered the phone the person didn't believe me the person was dead so now when they call my answering machine gets it with a message if you are looking for such and such look in the cemetary. It seems to of done the trick because now they dont call.
I answered the call. A lady asked for me by name, and then asked if my telephone was working properly. I told her that since she called me and I answered, she should be able to tell me if it was working. She hung up. Call came in at 6:17 pm CST. I promptly called the number back and got a recording that AT&T was closed and that I should call back during business hours, which ended at 6:00 pm CST. Really an absurd call. Have gotten as many as 8 calls a day from this number. Only solution I can think of is to call AT&T customer service each and every time I get one of these calls, and see what happens. Probably nothing, but it will make me feel better

Be careful if you answer any of these calls from this telemarketing firm calling on behalf of AT&T. A couple of months ago I answered one of these calls and couldn't understand the girl very well. She did not speak English well at all. I said I was happy with the service I already had and she said okay but something about verifying something. I didn't say anything because I didn't have a clue what she was talking about. I never gave her permission to add a service or anything but the next bill I got had a higher charge and a new type of DSL service listed on it. AT&T Customer Service promptly reversed the charge and removed the service when I called and complained and even they told me to be careful with these people that call on their behalf. Why a reputable company would use these telemarketers is just beyond me!!!!

Got two calls from this number. Called it back & it's AT&T. So the next time they called I answered. Wanted to know if we are getting the best service from them. I told them No service for internet is S.... When we call for help on service we get some guy in India that can't speak ENGLISH.

These idiots have been calling me, on average, about 10 or 12 times a week for years and always hang up when the answering machine catches the call. I didn't know until I looked at this site that it is probably BellSouth/AT&T.
But they apparently have a "plan B" if they can't track people down on the phone.
Last summer I was in my driveway taking some things out of my car when a guy wearing a shirt with a BellSouth logo on it and a BellSouth ID clipped to it walked up.
His pretext was that he was doing a "customer satisfaction survey." But before long he started trying to sell me additional services. I told him I wasn't interested but he wouldn't accept that and said I could save two dollars or so a month by combining my current services into a package. I finalyy did it just to get rid of him.
After doing the parerwork, he told me he didn't really work for BellSouth but for a marketing firm in Florida. Then he said he had to pee and wondered if my neighbors would mind if he went behind a bush in their yard.
These must be really classy people!
When I received my next bill, not only was it NOT two dollars or so less...but about ten dollars MORE.
I reported this to state and federal regulators and to BellSouth and told them I wanted everything back the way it was before this idiot popped up on my driveway. And that eventually happened.

Has been calling all Sept and Oct and calling 3 or 4 times a day. Everytime I answer, they hang up. Have called back and spoken w/ supervisors but nothing done. Am canceling my phone and going for another service.

Really annoying since it's probably a call back system that pulls up your number and will wait for a real person to answer before passing it on to a live telemarketer, similar to the call center setup which we use for consumer affairs. I had previously registered for "Do Not Call." Calls from this "TOLL FREE NUMBER" began 08/07/07 and have continued nearly daily. To date, I've received 9 calls. My telephone automatically records calls, but I have been documenting them on paper to compare calling times. My calls start after 3:00 p.m. and go as late as after 8:00 p.m. I screen all calls and do not answer any I do not recognize. I allow my answering service to pick up, but "whomever" does not leave voice mail. It has been harrassing to say the least! I am phoning AT & T who bought out Bell South and reporting it and requesting it be blocked if there isn't a charge involved. With any problem we face, it's always about paying out more money anymore! Lots of "rackets" going on out there in the steel jungle and we've become innocent victims! Perhaps if AT & T and Bell South support these calls, then we all need to phone our Attorney Generals and report this.

This number belongs to AT@T. They hang up on humans and when they hang up on the answering machine, it can leave a horrible disconnected audible sound that can last forever if I am not at home. I have told these people not to call me. I have written them and I have reported them to the do not call list. Nothing stops them. I will no longer answer calls from "unknowns", but I will find out who they are and report them.
How funny! Bell South called as I was reading these posts! They are trying to sell bundled products, the operator wasn't rude, but I told them no, and I wonder if they will still call.

The number is a toll free number - turn around and call it 1-866-819-5368. It is Bell South - now AT&T tell them you have had it and to quit calling or you will file a complaint. Worked for me.
If enough Bellsouth customers let them know they won't do business with them anymore if they continue these calls (and aren't obligated to follow Do Not Call rules because they're your phone company) then maybe they'll cut it out.

I have told them several times that I already pay too much for their phone services $50 for reg phone service & caller ID nothing else, I had no intentions in adding or changing anything else to stop calling me. They called the next day & asked for my husband who told her the same thing, & yet they still call.
Calls and hangs up before I can get to the phone. I keep small kids and it often iterrupts their nap. This si so irritating.
I called them back and told them to put me on the DO NOT CALL list. They called me 2 days later to let me know that the work order was processed and they would stop calling. Now, a few weeks later, they are calling again. I report each phone call to www.donotcall.gov and they should be getting fined $11,000/incident.

OMG this number calls my home maybe up to 10 times a day! Without any consideration they start calling around 7am and dont stop until 9pm at night. It is so aggrevating. I have picked up many times and all they do is hangup on me. Ive onyl had bellsouth for a coupl eof weeks now and I am fedup with the service. If this doesnt stop i will be switching to comcast!!!!!

Cingular & BellSouth are merging with AT&T, and this number is from their marketing dept. However, if you call it back, you will get the BellSouth call center dept (after a welcome message from AT&T). Since I do not have BellSouth phone service, the sweet lady in the call center could not put me on their internal do not call list (that's only for customers). She recommended that I answer the next time they call and request that my number be removed from their list. We shall see. I have already attempted to remove my number by using the privacy features on the BellSouth website. I'm not holding my breath!
I have been receiving 2 to 3 calls a day from this number for the last 2 weeks but have not answered. I finally answered and got someone with a heavy accent trying to get me to go back to DSL. I told them no, I was happy with comcast and told them not to call again and hung up. Let's see if they call again.
I got the hangup as well, but I called the number back and told them to put me on the Do Not Call List for AT&T/BellSouth. They agreed to do so.
This is BellSouth trying to sell more services. Now that I know who it is I just won't answer the phone. The lady I talked to was very nice but she sounded Indian. I told her to put me in as a refusal so no one else would call.

I have received close to ten calls from this number recently. When I pick up the phone, there doesn't seem to be anyone at the other end. Very annoying. There was one time recently when I answered a call and talked to Bellsouth about DSL service (not interested) but I'm not sure it was from that same number. The girl at the other end was VERY pushy and did not seem to understand these simple words : "I'm not interested." If this keeps up, I'm knocking my phone service back down to "basic" land line with no frills.

In case you didn't know, Bellsouth won't allow you to block this number via the call block *60 feature. How's that for customer service!
All of our phone numbers are listed on the National "DO NOT CALL" Registry however, this number continues to call multiple times everyday, does not leave a message and does not say anything when someone answers. I have just filed a complait with the National "DO NOT CALL" Registry and hope this provides some relief. I am darn tired of this type of privacy invasion!!!

I find this interesting that this is Bellsouth telemarketing. I was getting calls from Nach.TX from a Bellsouth telemarketer. I told them not to call again, but of course they did. I entered a complaint on the do not call list site. Now I am getting calls from 866-819-5368, Toll Free Number.
This is the same thing that happened to me. Natchitoches, TX, right? It had been for Cingular the first time that they contacted me under a number from TX. Now it's BellSouth?
(I'll be glad to move out of Florida. LOL)

They call every day, and will not speak. Whether I pick up or leave the message center on. I called them back and received the AT & T Service. I spoke to a male who was very polite. He stated he will forward my request to a manager, and have them stop calling. The location I reached was in Kentucky. I told them about this website for information. I also stated that I will start tape recording them, and then follow up with making it public. Overall the way I see it they are looking for some free publicity / advertising, and their getting it. Hell, this may even be their web page. If it is, I would like to first say hello, and then stop calling my dam office. And if you don't I'll fart in a bag and mail it to you. Scratch that, I'll just keep playng the game. What the hell, at this rate I think someone owes me some money for my time. Anybody out there want to sue? Any lawyers? This is a sales call. They say this is an automated call back number. I have called them and have asked that they not call my number again with any sales calls. If you call them, they will look up your account. If you want off their solicitation list, tell them and they will take you off.

Has anyone tried to contact a local or national news source about this? Might not hurt, as bad publicity is the last thing a company wants, especially when going through a merger. I've had the same problem since signing up with Bell South several months ago. I get calls 2-3 times per day from this same number.

This number has called me 15 times in two weeks, never leaving a message.
Last year I got at least 60 hang-up calls from the same number, eventually setting my Asterisk box to filter it out (instead of ringing the phones, it picks up immediately and plays loud monkey noises into the line. Even this failed to stop them, but at least it doesn't wake me up any more).

I've had this problem since November and finally paid $9 a month to get caller ID. Both Bell South and Bank of America are calling me. Armed with thi information, in my next call I said I'm on the National Do Not Call Registry, but as a customer I know you do not have to abide by the rules. However, as a customer, I have the right to be put on YOUR do not call list. Got good cooperation. The have a do not call list for all affiliates of these companies. Get your name added. Do not be afraid to answer your phone!
The e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org worked. Have had no calls in over a week. Threatening to cancel all service and use a cell phone and different internet service, it works.
I called back this morning. They are taking me off the call list. I am an existing customer. No problems with them except calling at weird times and no message. We will see if it stops. If not. I will drop there service.

I've been getting calls from these folks FOREVER, many times in a day. After being home sick from work for two days and being constantly woken by these annoying calls, I finally requested to be taken off their list, only to be told it would take 30-60 days (I e-mailed BellSouth customer service...the address that Dave provided back on 10/11/06). I'm optimistic that Dave's lack of comments since that time indicates that he was successfully removed from the list. I agree with Fishman...they seem to put annoying people above anything else. Even if it cost ten times as much, I'd still get cable service over BellSouth DSL because I'm so ticked off over this incredible behavior on their part.
It is obvious to me that this company's #1 purpose is really to annoy people, and whatever they are trying to sell/push on you is secondary. The question is why would a company waste money with business practices like this, as no one in their right mind would buy their product after having been pestered to death like this. I am looking into one of the programs that, while routing your phone calls through your pc, it will allow you to block these offenders numbers - a program that should become standard fair, such as spyware programs have become.

Just sent an e-mail to that annoyance address, we'll see what happens. I work midnight shift and it's insane that I have to shut my phones off to get any sleep. Wish I had Hachmed's or Ishtar's or what ever the hell his or her name is home phone number so I could call him from nine at night until seven in the morning, and when he/she answers not say anything and hang up and then call back again, again, and again.
I just emailed these harassers at email@example.com and demanded they stop no later than 19FEB07. Told them I would report them to the Attorney General of Florida.
