The phone is ringing, and I don't recognize the number, All Caller ID says is, "NAME UNAVAILABLE".
Please help me figure out who is calling and what they want
ass | a.s.s |
ass calls from 14 phone numbers:
I didn't answer the call, and there was a brief message on my answereing machine. A woman first said that I should wait for an important message, and then a man kept saying, "Can you hear me?", before the call disconnected.
These people call daily, and they never leave a message. I have asked repeatedly to be removed from their call list, but they keep calling. American Senior Assistance
This is infuriating especially with a day sleeper in the house. I'm so sick of these people calling repeatedly, day in and day out. They are nothing but scammers. I can't even block their number with a number block system because it belongs to something that can't be blocked.
I missed but when I dialed it "you have reached a # no longer in service" called it right after I missed????
Reminder message from Kwik Kar Lube & Tune
some man, could not speak english very well said he was from tech support for my internet and needed my credit card number to work on the issues with windows 8. first of all I do not have windows 8, nor will I give my credit card to a camel fucker like they are
The non American man stated that he was calling from Microsoft and my computer was sending alerts to Microsoft. I told him I would have my computer tech check out my computer. He was more than insistent that no one would be able to take care of the problem. I thanked him for calling and hung up.
Caller ID reads: BSC. Call back the number. You will be prompted to add your number to their do not call list.
This guy is a fraud. It is a payday loan scam. Dangerous people. They are relentless and will never stop calling. This has been going on with my phone for almost 2 years!
Caller said he was from Microsoft and if I went to my computer he would lead me through some steps to fix it. Yeah Right. Sounded as if he was also faking an India accent.
they called me after I filled out cash advance papers online than I paid close to 1200 dollars to get my loan borrowing from other friends and now I'm screwed
Got a call from this number. Same thing. Man with heavy, incomprehensible Indian accent saying he was from Microsoft and calling about viruses being generated by my computer.
i did not answer. no message left name unaviable someone should get to these poeple shut them down
i will not answere any calls that do not leave names. caller ID great thing to have. let stop these people.
Recording start off with 'if you are suffering from diabetes'.... The number is now in my computer program PhoneTray Free which will answer this number the next time they call, give them a piece of my mind, and hang up. All that's needed is a Fax/Data/Voice/CallerID modem and the free program. Check it out at: www.phonetray.com
Recorded message about Medicare. Offer for diabetic supplies. Thought solicitations by phone were illegal. Guess the "Do Not Call" list is a waste of time. Perhaps we should all call forward all these calls to our congressmen. Maybe when their phones get all clogged up they'll do something.
A man (?) says he wants to send me pictures of his mother and sister fornicating with a boar hog.
The carrer ID says NAME NOT FOUND.
Suuuuuure I'm going to answer it.
i received a call from the above number. Glad I was not here to receive this call from the Dominican Republic.
Did not recognize name on Caller ID, so did not answer. Rang several times and hung up. No message left on my answering system.
blocking this number as soon as I send this report in
Recorded message about Medicare. Area code is Dominican Republic.
Flagged as telemarketer
It was a woman asking for an unrecognizable name and asking for the owner of the phone number then when I finally got thru to her she said I have this number for "unrecognizable" Said she was from a lending company and would like to know if I she could help me with 5-10000. loan. I told her I neither wanted or needed her money and not to call this # again. She hung up. Idiots. You know, why do we have a no call register? They are worthless.
A guy with a very heavy Indian accent said that my Microsoft computer was infected. I could hardly understand what he was saying. I told him that I did not have a Microsoft computer and he yammered on about something. I responded by asking him what language he was speaking. Then he yammered even more and faster in his heavy accent. I told him never to call this number and hung up. Did he seriously think that I was going to give him (a guy with so heavy an Indian accent that I could hardly understand what he was saying) access to my computer?
they call under many different numbers. I talked with them once and asked them to stop calling. That made them call even more. They also call using a different number than what shows on caller ID. They never leave a message on answering machine. I no longer answer the phone for numbers that say unknown caller or numbers that I dont't recognize. If I am at home when these people call sometimes I turn off the answering machine too. The person who called me had a middle eastern accent. They call day and night and on weekends. I file a complaint with Do not call list each time they call, even if it is 4 or 5 times a day, which has happened before.
The last few comments describe the fake PC tech scam. See this thread:
Called me stating that their records show that my car has not been serviced for a while...I hung up
they called me twice a man first time i answered he said he was with microsoft and I needed to turn on my computer and he will tell me what buttons to push ..I asked him to verify who he was..he stammered and I hung up then he called the next day it came up voxbone sa I never answered and today same thing i didnt answer it is 08/24/2012 he calls again im reporting him
International criminals conducting credit card scams, identity theft & computer intrusion through deception. Multiple active Interpol cases.
Surprised by late night call last evening--did not pick up.
man with Indian accent said my computer was sending messages/errors to them and it was infected. Wanted me to log onto some website. I repeatedly asked him to tell me what operating system my computer was running and he kept saving "vindows". I finally told him I was going to report him to the Justice Dept and he hung up. This is the 2nd call like this I've gotten. I can't stress enough that no one ever, ever, ever do what they ask and log on to some website which would give them access to your personal files.
The caller's name is indeed DICKHEAD
Called recently but left no msg.
Call during work hours? Telemarketers
Called at 1:58pm, PST, 5/13/2012. Name of caller is Dickhead.
Recd call to my cell phone left no msg
Political survey and win a cruise....
Called at 12:16pm on Mother's Day. Dead line when I picked up.
Why post here unless you have useful information and I believe I do. I researched this company and they are not actually based in Washington but are located in Florida (hence the cruise component). The robo-demons do the calling from WA. If you want to irritate them, bombard their lawyer. He will have to bill the company when everyone asks him to be on the INTERNAL do not call list. I did and here is the info I received. I HIGHLY recommend that EVERYONE contact this guy. He actually responded to my e-mail. See below:
I received your email. My firm is the registered agent for the cruise line. I will relay your request to our client. The company maintains an internal DNC list and I will be happy to have you added to it, for any calls our client places. Please send me your phone numbers by email to add.

robocall (female voice) that started out saying it was a survey then said something about how I was "frustrated with the current election cycle" and that's when I hung up.
Called my cell phone, which is on the no-call list. I didn't answer as I didn't recognize the number and "Tacoma, WA" showed up on my caller ID. Left no message, showed up as a missed call. I have had my cell for probably 6 years now, have always had my cell registered to the no-call list and only started receiving telemarketing calls this year, about March. I report the number to donotcall.gov everyl time I get one of these calls and will do so right after I finish this message.
Obviously caller was from an overseas call center. Stated he was with the Computer maintenance company and that he detected malicious files on my PC. I'm a professional systems administrator for an international company so I think I know when my PCs have some malware on them (that and I don't fear a reformat.)
Needless to say I was in a bit of a time crunch so when he persisted my PC was infected I just hung up on him. If they call again I'll have something for them just to see how far the rabbit hole goes.
This call came into my cell phone. I wasn't in hearing distance so I didn't pick up the call. If this was an automated computer survey it might be interesting to note that the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) bans any sort of unsolicited call to a cell phone using "automated dialing devices. Of course the politicians in Washington may have changed this since the TCPA was first implemented.
Called me, left no msg on my sprint phone. Ignore, don't worry about it.
this number called and i didn't recognize it so didn't answer. called on my cell phone!
This number called me, then hung up when I answered.
I was offered a free trip to Bahamas for answering an automated election survey. I answered the survey - the questions were OK. The voice then said "you will now be connected to a travel agent". Then the call dropped.
( I should have figured that out from the start!)
When the bill that included the do not call registry was passed, it allowed for political calls.
Called cell, didn't leave a message. Called back on land line and got "this number is unavailable."
If you have Verizon, you can log on to your account over the internet, click on SPAM controls & block up to 5 numbers for 90 days. You can re enter a number after 90 days if needed. I also add the number to my contacts as SPAM9958 & set the ringtones to NONE or SILENT. That way if that number ever calls again, your phone will not ring & they missed call ID will be SPAM9958 so you will know to just delete it. These are ROBOcalls. A computer that just calls numbers in a mathmatical order. They are not in the USA so the 'Do Not Call' list is of no help in this instance. They fake the number that Caller ID says they are calling from, so no help there either.
I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number. Isn't this illegal? I'm on the no-call registry.
It was an automated voice and said something about a survey about the presisential elections and that I'd get a complimentary crisis for two to the Bahamas.
Tacoma Washington area
Might be Wells Fargo
No message left
Scam call. They called from Tacoma, WA. No message. Called back and "number unavail". SCAMMERS
Called cell, didn't leave a message. Called back and got a "this number is unavailable." Smells fishy to me.
I did not pick up - no message left.
I have my # on the 'No Call List'>>but yet keep getting these calls!
just called my number id not say anything
Scammer call to my cell phone. Free cruise for a survey? Yeah, right. Dipwads!
recorded message to my cell phone political survey..... scam call
recorded message on my voicemail was for someone named carlos vandana(not me)and instructed him to call yet another number which was some medical business(an 866 area code).deleted the message but retained the number of origin in order to ID for future calls.
Put me on your "DO NOT CALL LIST"
Fifth Ave Theater advertising a new show in Seattle WA
person with heavy accent tells me that "we've been receiving messages from your computer"
hung up when I said I didn't have a computer.
they are calling saying owe a patday loan and they were gong to arrest me ths is not true i do not have kind of loan
It was I-Hop reminding me about the free Halloween pancakes for kids under 12 today - they left a message.
This call actually came up as a ten digit 15109433040 which may indicate international origin. They called and didn't leave a voicemail but stayed on the line waiting for someone to pick up. I could hear callcentre noise in the background and the muted beep as they hit the hang-up button.
Greaaat, we have a boiler room rotating its scam crops. The acronym ACS is most likely for Affidavit Consolidation Services, a well known name in a well known illegal operation running the past few years.
This is yet another of the fake payday loan collectors calling from overseas. Their threats are empty and their rude tactics are illegal under federal law, the FDCPA. Do not argue with them, do not comply with their extortionist demands. Show them you know you have rights they are trampling.
Try demanding a mailing address and a full business name. If the caller fudges his answer and you cannot verify it, it's likely a PDL sham. Challenge their horse puckey threats; they often make rude remarks and hang up. As the bullies like to hassle people at workplaces, advise your employers and coworkers these calls are garbage.
The usual response to such a runaway debt collector stateside is to send a cease-comm letter and file suit. If you find a valid US address, please do so. Fierce consumer lawyers will leap at the chance to run such a case on contingency. However, being mostly outside U.S. borders and having no discernable addresses, these particular criminals rarely make it possible for individuals to punish them.

Said his name was officer Andy Jones with ACS saying I had a payday loan would not tell me the company name nor the when I received the payday loan saying I was being sued cause I never paid the loan back. He is Foreign. They have several numbers to call you from 408-256-7159 and 213-533-0302.
Steve, your CRTC manages its own version of DNC, if not very well according to critics. If I as a New Englander knew this, there was little stopping you from learning the same. That said, you can't expect outright scammers like these phony "Microsoft" techs to honor any law.
Too bad the registry mentioned here is for the U.S. I'm in Canada and would like to stop these long distance junk calls.
I have been getting calls from VOXBONE SA. Phone # 510-943-3040. Normally I do not answer calls from telemarketers, but I finally answered and asked them to stop calling me and since then I have been getting calls 3 or 4 times a day and they leave weird noises on my voicemail. I consider this harrassment and want to know how to report them. I am on the Do Not Call list so don't know why I am getting these calls from telemarketers.
Called himself Max, had an Indian accent. Said he was with the "Computer Department", then got really abusive when I told them not to call again.
Asked for me by name. Identified himself as Brad Johnson. Wanted me to go to my computer so he could remotely remove some kind of virus. Said he worked for microsoft. Had a heavy Indian accent. Asked where he was calling from. Told me they have offices all over the world. I asked him again is he was Brad Johnson. He then told me he was and that he was calling from India. That is why he had the accent. (I don't think the # showing on my phone was an Indian area code but he definitely did not sound like a Brad Johnson unless he had been adopted by an Indian family.lol He asked me to go to my computer and I said no he had woken me up and I was annoyed. Asked if he could call back in the afternoon. I said no and to take me off his list. His reply was why mam. Then we bantered back and forth with him asking why and me saying just do it several times until I got tired and hung up. I would like to have engaged him longer but was afraid that the charges for the phone call might somehow be reversed to me.
Said they were calling on behalf of Microsoft Windows Operating System concerning errors in my computer that were detected over the internet. Immediately sounded like the AMMYY Scam, where they try to get you to instal some software on your home windows PC, that allows them to remotely connect to your computer and download any personal files. I had only just started to lead them on, when they hung up.
Very strange scam. Asked for owner of phone. When I asked why they said it was because "she" won a prize. When I said that we weren't interested and to take us off of their list I was told to tell the owner of the phone that she was a loser and then I was hung up on.
Called twice last night saying that our area was under a Tornado Warning to take cover
big bad scam. Don't give them any real information.
I have received about 2 dozen calls with no response this morning alone. It's only 10 am here. I am furious. I called them back. it was an automated do not call list. I placed my number on the list and i have received another dozen calls in the last 15 mins.
Said they were calling re a medical referal and I should call back with my "6 digit referal number". The irony is that I DO have a medical referal coming up this week, but have NO referal number, etc.
balfour beatty automated emergency information system
Ok So I apparently did a poll or a survey with them on the air quality in my home and they called me and said that i had one a prize, ya right I scoffed I eventually hung up on them... Verdict SCAM!!!!! Ignore them.
They lied about everything. Never said they were selling anything, only that I had won a prize and they wanted to bring it right over but both husband and wife had to be home for security reasons. The prize was either a vacation trip or a car cleaning kit. I asked if they were selling anything, she said no. I asked did I have to pay anything, she said no. I did not let them come to my house and I fully expect that they will call back. I can hardly wait. Maybe all of us should repeatedly dial their number. Or maybe we should start complaining to the telephone companies, landlords, etc. It might not stop them but it might make it uncomfortable.
I just got called too, whenever I get a call that I don't recognize I know its a fraud, or bullshit call, unless its a bill collector lol... because I have a wonderful anonymous phone :-D good old boost mobile not caring if you use your real name ahhhhhh I love america
It was a spanish recording message stating that I won and to press #1 to continue....but I just hung up the phone and when I tried calling back and it sounds like a young kids voicemail...I believe with the name July...WEIRD !!!

Don't do mexican. Most likely a scam
Got the call today, number came up only on ID. I tired to call it back using another phone and got a rapidly sounding busy signal. They did not leave VM.
Some Spanish-speaking lady, probably a recording.
got a call from them but I didnt answer and they didnt leave a message
Spanish voice recording. By the dialect it is probably Mexican drug lords doing some telephone recruiting of drug mules.
I got this number, but I didn't know who was calling.
Called my cell @ 9:21 a.m. but I was busy working and unable to answer, used the 'reverse # lookup' and seen it was K.C., K.S., tried to call it back and just received a rapid busy signal. Judging by the other messages on here that I've read I'm guessing that it's probably a solicitor. BTW, thanks to everyone else for leaving their input which helped me to realize this. :-)
Who the heck is this Do I sound mexican
I didn't answer and they left no message
This caller was unknown. A scam at best.
received today 9/24/10. I did not answer but caller id said it was KS. No message left.

Received a phone call from this number at 7:03 pm September 23, 2010. I do not speak spanish and there was alot of static. it sounded like a recording and they hung up. I tried to call back and it was busy.
They've been calling me about once a month for a few months now. My Spanish is horrible, but I'm nearly certain that is what it is. I've only responded once, "(weeping), Lo siento! Mi gato es muerto! (click)". Not even sure if that said what I wanted since I've been in German lately, but after that occasion it took them slightly longer to call back.
I got a call today from this number to, i am in VA, and had no idea so i answered it just in case it was someone important i just moved here so i wasn't sure..but was just something in Spanish so i hung up
Did answer either, but interesting all the comments on this website are all from the last few days, not ranging months or years. Looks like a brand new scam.
This number just called me too.
This number just called me. It was 5:30 pm, I left it go to voicemail, but no one left a message. I did a reverse look-up on whitepages.com and it said it was Kansas City, Missouri.
recieved around 5.38 eastern standard. they said somthing about money?
Called my cell. Spanish (no habla).
they called winnning something
Got this number. I do speak Spanish, but I need a few seconds once I realize I'm hearing Spanish to actually understand it. The first part sounded garbled, The tail was "...to receive your money". They used the familiar you (tu) to address me, instead of the more formal Usted. Most places, that would be considered somewhat rude, but it depends, and that is changing.
It wasn't a recording, but sounded like a voice synthesis system. The inflections didn't sound natural. I tried to talk to it, in case there was some voice recognition, but it hung up on me.
i received a call from this number at 10am est and let it go to voice mail and all that was recorded was white noise/static.
let it go to VM. static. from KS,USA. busy when i call back
they called my cell phone
Same as most the comments below. No message. Can't call it back either.
They called (just now) and I hanged up on them because I don't wanna be bother...
Its so funny because I have a 973/862 area code and they are calling my from 913....
I just received a call from them. I never pick up with strange numbers, and decided to Google it immediately, which lead me to this page. They left a voicemail, but with nothing recorded. Looks like from the amount of calls today alone, they're quite busy.
Just got a call, they were speaking Mexican, sounded like there was someone in the background at first. No idea.
Called on Sep. 23, 2010 12:19pm, didn't pick up, no voicemail. I get a slew of those calls from different numbers every time I make online airline reservations, coincidence? Not ever picking up unknown numbers keeps them in check somewhat, it seems.
Called me around 3:10EST in Spanish.
When I answered the phone I got a recording that was in Spanish
I just got this call on my AT&T cell phone. Some spanish recording. No idea what it says, as I don't speak spanish. I hung up.
Spanish recording, asked you to press one. Based on previous commments, a live person will get on the line to try to swindle you. Buncha BS
No voice mail left.

Didnt answer. Called it back says call cannot be completed as dialed. GOOD thing i guess.
Called my number at 11:05am this morning, I didn't answer the phone, no voice mail or message. Glad I didn't answer!!
in fact, this is a call to make a swindle, I I press the number 1 and step by step they requested data to me of my credit card, I gave the erroneous information them. When I ask to them about the reason to request the card they said that i was the winner of a trip to Orlando, and a thousand dollars. but that I must to give my card to pay my taxes. obvious the card nonstep because it doesn't exist, but she never spoken of the price of taxes. it is a great swindle, please don't fall, i don't know where denounce these thieves. These thieves to little by little were asking my data me.
Got this call - let it go to voice mail. No message.
"LOSER spoke in spanish!!

Geez - too bad you can't spell in English, ya freakin' loser. "SPEAK ENLISH, you're in AMERICA!!!!" Your = personal possessive; you are = you're, contraction for you are in America.

I'm a t-mobile customer got the creepy call yesterday afternoon..I donnot speak Spanish..I wish someone could translate the message..
spanish speaking woman, hung up immedialtey call was on my company cell phone
@Maynard Huh. That's interesting if not troubling. Sounds legit enough though, sadly. Will have to look more into that!
My call came through last night around 8PM but my phone was dead. No message left, that was that.
Now like so many of you have mentioned, I've barely given out this number...
However, I'd be curious to know just how many of you are or were ever AT&T customers with the number you have currently?
I answered it... it was a Spanish recording. I don't speak Spanish. After the recording it started ringing as if I had called it. I tried to call back and it was busy.

Called my company cellphone, which is on AT&T
That happened to me2
let it go to voicemail no msg.... received call twice
WNT TO VM BUT NO MESS
When someone calls you and you press "1", that gives them access to the phone system by way of your phone number, even after you've hung up. You can use your phone normally, but as long as the caller keeps their phone open they can then use their phone with your number to call anywhere in the world, usually South America. They have people lined up to make out-of-country calls for a small fee using your number on your dime.
I received a spam call from this person. Spanish speaking machine.
I just received a call from this number and I didn't answer it because I didn't recognize the number. I went to look up the area code to see if it might be someone that I know and as soon as I typed in "913-999" I found a dozen websites with people complaining about getting a call from the same number.
I received this call on my corporate mobile phone. When I answered the line, a recorded message, about 5 to 10 seconds long played. I would tell you what it said, but I don't speak Spanish.
These mother f*ckers just called my cell phone. I wish I could reach through the phone, grab their tongue, and wipe my anus with it, then put the phone up to my own anus and take a steaming, big sh*t through the phone and into their mouth.
Bothersome to say the least!!! If this is a telemarketer caller I NEVER GAVE ANYONE PERMISSION TO GIVE MY CELL TO THEM. I thought they passed a law about that!! But even with that I have to call a no. to have them stop, and there is NO GAURANTEE WITH THAT!!!
Let it go to Voice Mail no msg left.
unknown, no recording, bogus number
same thing but i only speak american
Pre-recorded message in Spanish upon answer.
Yes, Mexican is a language... Just ask anyone from Spain!
This came to my cell phone and was a recording in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish.
You're the derp - take a Spanish class (if they offer one in the 8th grade), then take your new language skills to Mexico. See how that works out for you.
Left a message in Spanish.
