If you are tired of these calls...hire an attorney. That is what I am doing. I am sick of them and all I want is to be left alone but the person or persons on the other end of the line won't stop....I bet they will now! Oh and never ever give your cell phone to any business or other professional entity...EVER! Get yourself an old fashioned land line and an answering machine and only give that number out to businesses or other professional services. When my cell rings it's personal...when the home phone rings it's a business...and you can unplug it or just delete the messages...pretty simple solution if you ask me.

This number called me several times with no message left. When I called back a robo-voice launched into a schpeal about being "Anne" from "Diabetic Health America. There was a real person behind the fake voice, a total creeper! I asked to speak to the manager and they hung up. Tired of this crap I decided to call back as much as it took to get a manager on the line. I called 52 times in 20 minutes. Each call ended with "anne" hanging up on me. At one point I said I don't want to talk to their robot I want a real person and the person behind the robot voice said "this is a real person". When I asked if it was some jerk living his mom's basement the person responded "yes." During the course of the other calls they also identified themselves as "Anne Curtis", said they had no manager, played creepy laughter at me when I threatened to report them to the police. This person is probably a serial killer and needs to be located by the authorities!

DO NOT pick up the phone..They are Telemarketers ..They have bought blocks of unused numbers from all over the country..They will make an attempt to get you to pick up the phone by calling you from "READY FOR THIS"??? Familiar phone numbers and locations similar to the friends and families phone numbers on you address book on your phone..This is a new diversion, manipulation and trick to get you to pick up your phone..UNLESS YOU "KNOW" who is on the phone..DO NOT pick the telephone or your cell phone up..

Yes ... it was Ann from Account Services calling again .... for the millionth time. I can block their calls and have blocked hundreds of them .... but they still keep calling on spoofed numbers.

Maybe -- instead of continually reporting these people to federal authorities --- who have failed to take action even though they received more than 4 million complaints last year alone -- it's time we start complaining to the phone company from which these spoofed numbers were obtained. Maybe if the phone companies get 4 million calls from irritated consumers, they will find some way to stop these scammers from using their phone numbers to harass telephone customers. It's easy enough to do. Just go to a

December 13th, 2012 Marcos AZ

It's always the same, in the thickest of East Indian accents, "This is Brad Pitt from US Pharmacy, is Marcos there?" Or the "this is card services". If I dare ask what bank they are calling from they simply hang up, funny how their phone number only seems to show up on my caller I.D. but is in-op if I return their call.
So here is my little trick for spammers. Like most folks I too am on the DNC list but that's no real defense. I only have a cell phone so it is easy to put a weed up their azz. While I can not seem to get them from always calling me, I have found how to limit the waste of time a bit.
1) I add the number to my contacts list under the title "ROBO" this is followed by "BANK" or "RX" for those pesky Canadians selling Viagra.
2) I Set the ringtone for this contact as "SILENT".
When I fill that contact with bogus numbers I changed the name to "ROBO BANK/RX * FULL"
This way when they call my cell never rings, I then see I've missed 17 calls today and guess who I didn't waste my time dealing with? Anyone who calls with out of state numbers who fails to leave a message gets this treatment. I have 100's of numbers stored this way.
The calls continue but I figure sooner or later as long as I never answer they will drop my number.
If you really want it to stop call and complain to your US Congressman/women, if you call them and complain with the same frequency as the spammers call you they too will get annoyed, it's not like they are busy doing anything productive in Washington DC anyway......

Nothing that you do will stop them from calling you. The major players behind this have made millions of dollars, which means that they are too big to fail.
One of the major players specializes in aiding the rich with tax evasion and shell corporations set up in Belize. You can bet that the well to do in this country are not getting lower your credit card interest rate calls and due to that fact our government just considers a few phone calls a minor annoyance.
The FCC has temporarily halted 5 of the minor unprofitable boiler rooms. They will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days.
In the meantime the calls will continue since the major money is being made with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like www.telephonemanagement.net
In their own words: 'Every day your company makes thousands of outbound phone calls. Every one of those calls generates revenue for many companies, why not yours? Our CNAM revenue-sharing program helps you make money every time a Caller ID request is made by a phone carrier. A high-traffic call center can lose hundreds to thousands of dollars a day to phone carriers by allowing them to charge for access to your own data.'

You can now see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet. The only way to stop this is to contact the FBI and ask why this crime family is allowed to operate and facilitate the ongoing criminal operations. This is one of the reasons that the RICO act was put in place, so why aren't they using it. Is this because this isn't a high profile, news worthy operation or is the FBI too understaffed and busy with Homeland Security issues. Maybe if we were rich they would take this seriously, but then if we were rich we would be using that criminal organizations services and protecting them instead of trying to shut them down.

I had several of those card services calls with the same area code and prefix so I tracked down the origination and sent them this email thread:

I have been receiving calls from a number that has an account with your company, xxx-xxx-xxxx.
This person is in FULL VIOLATION of at least a dozen FCC regulations concerning telemarketing.
Please disconnect them immediately before I report you and this scam to every one of the NATIONAL news services.

Their reply:
Thank you for contacting Pacific Telecom. We are a B2B phone company specializing in inbound origination services for large scale commercial businesses.
The number you are reporting, xxx-xxx-xxxx, is associated with a Pacific Telecom subscriber. If you would like help with preventing future calls from this subscriber please feel free to contact our office. Pacific Telecom can issue a “do not call” demand on the subscriber for any number(s) you provide.
Please note, such requests can take up to 48 hours to receive compliance confirmation from the subscriber. In the mean time, if you believe the call(s) are in violation of the national or your state’s Do Not Call list please contact the appropriate regulatory entity to file a complaint.
If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me.

This was my reply back to them:
It is not just that I want you to issue a DNC order, it is the fact that this company is violating at least a dozen FCC regulations regarding telemarketing.
I have found well over a thousand complaints on various internet sites regarding this company and their bank of phone numbers. I am sure that what they are doing is against your own TOS.

If you do not suspend their account or prevent them from placing these types of calls, I will report your company to the FCC for allowing this company to continue to violate FCC regulations as well as to the national news services for your reluctance to prevent this from occurring after it being brought to your attention. I have already issued several complaints with the FCC for violations to the National Do Not Call list.

I no longer get any from that ac/prefix but they continue to come, just like roaches!

''Other telemarketers'' have been domestic and respectful of our laws, Mickey. The credit reprice scammers use ''opt-out'' provisions as a means of confirming that a human will answer your phone, and then keep on calling and/or selling the ''lead'' to fellow criminals. This is the same business model as seen among email spammers.

Here's a link to a site which helps explain the scope of the problem and why the credit reprice scammers are hard to control:

It also advocates a strategy similar to that adopted by spam combat veterans. In that realm, it's reporting to ''upstream providers'' like an ISP or a web host. For these junk calls, you contact the state regulators who have oversight of the various phone number blocks in use. Two states have thus far revoked licensing for what is thought to be a major player in illegal calls.

Want to stop these calls? Call that same number right back and the robo attendant allegedly will take you off the list. If they call me again after 72 hours, I'll know it's BS, but I've done this before with other telemarketers and it's worked.

Like many people, E, you're convinced that nothing has been done by federal regulators and attorneys general to kill off credit reprice scammers and junk callers with autodialers in general. If you spend only a few minutes on the problem that belief dissolves. Here's what the FTC has been up to for the past few years:

Enforcement of the Do Not Call Registry (summary, links)

Enforcement Action Announcements - Alphabetical

Press Releases - Chronological

Here are some credit reprice scammers in Atlanta headed to jail this year:

Adams Sentenced To Over 17 Years In Prison For Multi-Million Dollar Telemarketing Fraud Scheme

The FTC held meetings all day long a few weeks ago to better define the problem and do more than rely on rules which the criminals are always going to ignore:

Federal Trade Commission to Host Robocall Summit

FTC Challenges Innovators to Do Battle with Robocallers

Complaints to DNC form a handy pool of intel for law enforcement, something you are all prompted to read about at registration. Those complaints have helped the FTC choke off several credit reprice scammers since 2009. If you hope for more prompt human assistance, file complaints with the FTC and attorneys general. Individual action through a TCPA lawsuit would be a strong suggestion, if anyone manages to corner one of these scammers long enough. People, this is not a sprint, it's a marathon. You won't see relief tomorrow, but it will come if you do your part to fight for it.

I've received many, many calls (I started to write them down) from various numbers across the country on my cell phone, never my home phone. It's a robocaller named "Anne". If I press "1" to speak w a person once I ask for their name they hang up on me. When i call back or if I miss the call & call back, I get a fast busy signal. How does one stop these calls. This has to be illegal but how & where do we report this to that will take these complaints seriously and do something. After reading these posts and others when I've "filed a complaint" it seems many people have the same issues. Will some organization, government official, etc please take notice and do something about this already!!!

I got a call from 701-671-9447 today at 2:15 ET on Oct 31st. I called AT&T and got info from them that the provider of the number is CallerID4u,Inc. Their Web site is: www.callerid4u.com

I caled them and talked with a person by the name of Rick.
He gave me a case number, and told me to report any other calls to them and give them my case number.

These calls are a scam, and we all know it. What we need to do is for EVERYONE who gets calls from this number and others, is to call CallerID4u and make a complaint. Their contact number is: (206) 792-9399, which is on their web site.

At least we now know one of the providers of the numbers these scammers are using.
These scammers use Card Member Services, Finincial services, and various other simular names, and most of them want to lower your credit card rate.

Our local phone company says they can't do anything about this, but I was lucky to get the name of the provider of the scam number that called me.

Getting this annoying call on my cell and at home from multiple areas/numbers. I've tried multiple methods to get them to stop calling; from "pressing" the number they indicate to talking with a live person. All of my phones are registered with the National No Call Registry. Nothing works. Just keep getting the calls. Now, if I get a call I don't recognize I don't answer. I figure if it's a call I need to recieve the caller will leave a message. These numbers NEVER do! I feel it's a violation of my privacy. It's also theft if/when I do answer and am charged minutes on my cell plan for the call. But no one seems to be able to do anything about it. I've wondered if recipients banded together in a class action against the telephone/cell phone service providers if they wouldn't figure out how to stop it. Afterall...these folks are getting their phone service from some company. As it is the companies acutally benefit....$$ paid by the caller and minutes used on the recieving end. What's their motivation to stop it? If phone companies were forced to pay damages to call recipients they might be more motivated to find s way to stop it. I've called to complain to my service providers, land and cell, and have been told that they are unable to identify the caller account. REALLY??? They don't know who purchased the service??? I don't buy that.

I can tell you those CPS people sure do get wound up when you ask about Gambill's criminal record and outstanding arrest warrant.

They said they would send the police out to my house but I'm still waiting.

If you want the inside story on the phone number Marauder uses, have a look at 7604231100watch.blogspot.com. Gambill is famous on ryongambillwatch.blogspot.com. The Marauder people have it all laid out on maraudercorpwatch.blogspot.com and then there's industry standard, experianwatch.blogspot.com.

Do your homework and flatten them in court.

I receive called at least once a week from this number. I have both of my phone numbers on the "Do Not Call" list and renew the list every 90 days. Because I still continue to receive telemarketer calls. Now I am also receiving call from other countries.
Doesn't the Do not call list work? How do I make an official complaint? Will it honestly do any good? What steps do I need to follow through to ensure my phone numbers will not land on the cross reference book the telemarketers use or their computers? They place false numbers, names and company names on their Id. Is there a law that forbids such misrepresentation? Who do I talk to about this. I'm tired of the nuance and harassment. Not to mention they are rude.... If a person has a private number, how is it these people get their hands on it? No, I do not give my phone number out to anyone I don't want to have it. I do not fill in contest, or of any kind of solicitation. If the businesses I do business with sell my information what can I do about it?

Or else what, Nikki? You'll make another cranky post here? You and Sue and Francie and Theo need first to READ .. BEFORE .. YOU .. POST! The following facts have been stated in this thread before:

- Your callers do not read, manage, or control this web page.
- Even if the creeps suddenly wanted to quit calling you, nothing about this site magically reveals which phone numbers they are to avoid.
- The credit reprice offers come from criminals who hide behind shell corporations, telco service resellers, and spoofed numbers to evade prosecution.
- Jumping and whining about your ''Do Not Call'' registrations is futile. Every functioning telephone number is now on a virtual ''Do Not Care'' list!

If you want action, file complaints with the FTC, attorneys general, and the service providers the scammers use. No, you won't get fast personal service. You will add to a swell of reports which will burst in the scammers' faces once they are cornered like those in the past three years. If you want to throw tantrums but add nothing useful to our collective intelligence, pour it in your own notebook and stop littering these database sites.

I haven't had a call from these clowns in a week! What I did to prevent these calls: a week ago, I posted that pretended to be a local dispatcher (I used the same county I live in on the outside chance they have my address), and I warned the Mensa member I was speaking with that its a federal offense to call 911 without an emergency. I tried to get more information out of him to perhaps provide the FTC with items they could follow up on, but he hung up on that. But I haven't had a call since! This works!

If you're concerned about posing as an officer, you're actually posing as a dispatcher. No federal offenses for you!

1. This problem is mostly in the FTC's backyard.
2. The Commissions ARE doing something if you bother to find out.
3. You cannot expect regulators to drop everything and cure your personal problem.
4. None of the above has ever been a secret.

Here's the word on the last few FTC lawsuits against credit reprice scammers, and a gang in Atlanta facing prison time:

FTC Action Puts Robocallers Out of the Telemarketing Business

FTC Shuts Down Robocallers Who Claimed to Reduce Credit Card Interest Rates

FTC Charges Telemarketers with Illegal Robocalling

Adams Sentenced To Over 17 Years In Prison For Multi-Million Dollar Telemarketing Fraud Scheme

Law enforcement is not enough, as cheap VOIP service and Caller ID spoofing were not available as tools of concealment to phone scammers when the DNC program was established. The FTC is well aware of this, and will be inviting ideas for a technological defense to be aired at summit next week, which was announced in July.

Agency Announces Robocall Summit to be Held October 18 in Washington, DC

609-227-4849 Report calls to the FCC. This telephone number has been disconnected. The caller ID of the originating party is being spoofed and calls are NOT coming from the company that has been given that number. Your local service provider may have the ability to trace the records back and determine who is responsible for calls--the number behind the false caller ID. By reporting to the FCC in quantity, they will be able to investigate.

NDNCR member: The credit reprice scam is bigger than all of us. This year I've been referring to the work of intrepid bloggers who have done a lot of sleuthing to find the heads of the hydra. One kingpin has been named, but it's not clear he's the guy to serve a summons. Until we can hold the correct criminals by the throat with TCPA claims, we have to be content with spreading complaints to the FTC and attorneys general.

That WordPress blog I cited in late September also suggests reporting to the utility regulators in those Northwestern states where phone numbers controlled by the scammers are found. Based on complaint volume it's believed that a full quarter of the current illegal call traffic is the work of one company, Pacific Telecom. In August the PacTel public utility registration was yanked in Oregon, and North Dakota is poised to do the same this month. This is very similar to the email spam combat technique of sending complaints to an ''upstream provider'', in hopes of taking away the scammer's primary tools.

On WCU I've written about Paetec (or whatever it wants to call itself) in the past in connection with both illegal security system sales calls and a lengthy spam campaign run on this very site. It would hardly surprise me if Paetec is also pretty much a ''spam harbor''.

(4015580022) whocalled.us
(8604700041) whocalled.us

Just to be clear on this point: It should be plain by now that verbal demands and keypresses are not going to stop criminals with autodialers. Those false ''opt-out'' provisions are only there to create an illusion of legitimacy. Again in parallel to the email spam problem, the first thing any direct response tells the phone scammer is that yours is a functional phone number which a live person just might respond to again. That is how your phone numbers become commodities, shared with and sold off to other criminals.

I followed some of their prompts after calling them a second time, the automated system hung up on me the first time, and found the following contact number for their New Jersey office. 1-609-538-1818. These idiots call me at least once a month dispite my number being on the National Do Not Call Registry. The call is pre-recorded and apparently they have removed the option of pressing 1 to speak to a representative because I have not had the opportunity to speak to one so I can tell them they are violating federal law by calling me. So. I will just continue to file complaints with the registry and once I do get the actual mailing address for these morons I will send them a bill for burning up my cell phone with their illegal solicitation calls. Especially since I do not have a credit card.

If you are receiving these calls on your cell phone, and you are a Verizon or ATT customer, go Verizon or ATT websites and use the block caller feature to prevent multiple and future calls from these robocallers.

I have been successful in stopping second+ call backs from the same number by adding the number to blocked callers list on my cellular carrier’s website. With my account, I can only block 5 numbers with no charge, so I add blocked numbers over the oldest number I entered on the list.

By blocking the call on your service providers website, the next time the robocaller calls your number it gets a blocked message and a tone marking your number as a dead number, thus ending the callbacks from the robocaller.

I have been doing this successfully for almost a year now and have not gotten call backs from any numbers I have blocked.

I reported this to FCC filling out their form - I had previously reported this number to DNC so far they did not do anything - if fcc gets enough complaints this company will be fined.

Ah, there is so much more to this than tradelines. Experian failed to determine whether Experian/Gambill had a permissible purpose for accessing my credit report. Yes, they can remove the query but they can't remove the fact that they let him have the information.

They also got sued for contributing to harassment from Gambill (he would ring at all hours of the day and night insisting a debt was owed).

I did a bit of research and compiled a long list of discovery questions for Experian. Examples? A copy of the inspection report of Marauder's premises. Data on the number of complaints received about Marauder. Correspondence, if any, concerning the fact that Gambill has been convicted of phone harassment and "customer service manger" Ray Wrightsman has been convicted of domestic violence. Certain questions about the security of Gambill's and Experian's computer systems. The educational backgrounds of the persons dealing with complaints. It was a LONG list, Experian did not want to answer any of them.

At the medication, Experian's mediator (mediatrix, actually) walked out. She'd had it. The next step would be trial, and the judge said he'd recommend that all of my discovery requests be granted.

Experian knew there would only be so much they could do to keep this data bottled up. They knew, eventually, it would end up on the Internet. They also knew any testimony in open court would be on the Internet by the next day.

So, they caved and paid.

I also played somewhat dirty pool during their discovery. Even though I speak English well, it is NOT my first language. I insisted on being allowed to use an interpreter during the deposition. This cut their "harassment time" down to less than half. Plus, it was nice to have time to think about my answers. The fact that the language in question is an "exotic" one unnerved Experian's lawyers.

They wanted my notes-they got them, all in this language. I refused to identify the language, it cost them a bit to have it identified. Then it cost them a premium to get them translated. Remember, Experian was paying for all of this.

They wanted computer files. All encrypted, sorry, that's how I keep them. They also got hit with a 'privilege list' a mile long-they just gave up on the computer. They figured out once they got past decryption they'd be looking at this damned foreign language again!

The secret is to go after Experian. They will pay. Gambill has a pile of judgments against him as high as Mt. Everest, he never pays anything. It is remarkable Experian keeps giving him access (that was one of my discovery questions as well).

You can go after them in federal court and play discovery games or sue them in small claims court. Small claims court is fun as they can't use a lawyer!

Also, if you live in a state where they have any premises, they will fear of losing as you can execute a writ of 'fieri facias' on them and seize property.

Just make sure you serve them through their registered agent.

Let the media know-they were waiting in the foyer of the courthouse after my mediation. I also made sure they knew the names of the lawyers and mediatrix. To this day, she hates me as she took steps to conceal her name. Too bad.

So, Fists of Fury 1, Experian 0.

Live with it, Experian!

I found a good solution. Use trapcall. Any time they call me, they now et a "sorry this number is dosconnected" message. It. Unblocks all anoonymous or blocked callers, so you can see their real number. You can blacklist a number, and never have them bother you again. It does cost 5$ a month. But its money well sent to know rachael gets a "disconnected" message for my number! I told all my friends to get this.

This number keeps calling. I normally don't answer it but today I talked to someone. When I asked them to quit calling me the guy got very rude and said "wow and you answered"and hung up on me. Um why should I have to screen calls on MY phone to avoid these people? For one thing I do not even own any credit cards! Anyone know who I can call? I tried calling the number back but it's busy!

Kim, your callers do not maintain this site or this web page. Your callers cannot magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments.

Here is what I do for all calls that are like this one. I save the number in my phone and title it "DO NOT Answer". Each time it calls I just disregard! These people don't care and in case you haven't noticed...nobody is going to do anything about it! These people are scum and realize they are a little number on a big list. The chance of any punishment or legal action is "none".

People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office and also file with:

If enough people keep complaining then maybe something will get done.

The calls are being made from outside the US; however, most of the call centers (where you actually talk to someone after pressing 1) are in the US and the companies making the money from the scam are owned by people in the US.

This number is owned by PAETEC call their fraud department @ 866-925-9916, they have to remove you within 48 hours.

September 29th, 2012 Gordon IL

I have been receiving calls from this company (many spoofed numbers, but same company) several times a week for over a year. I have been on the Do Not Call list for over a year, and have filed dozens of complaints with them. I have filed several complaints with the FTC as well.

If you are getting calls, immediately after the call, dial *57. This will trace the call to the real caller's number. Your phone company won't give you the information, but if you file a police report for harassment, the police can get the info.

Meanwhile, make sure you're registered on the Do Not Call list (donotcall.gov) for your land line AND cell phone numbers.

Once registered, EVERY time you get a call, register a complaint through their website. When there are enough complaints, they might actually investigate.

Untill then, just keep pressing '1' to get to a person. Ask them to remove you from the list. They'll probably just hang up on you, but you still have to actually ask. Then go to donotcall.gov and register another complaint.

Keep at it!

She's back! It's Rachael from cardholder services telling you that you can lower your credit card interest rate.

September 28th, 2012 Cindy

I have requested to be added to the DO NOT CALL list if the option is available however they just start calling from another number. And sometimes when they answer and I start to tell them to add me to the DNC list they are rude and just hang up on me!

How do we get this stopped forever?

September 28th, 2012 Bernie CA

I've been receiving on my personal cell phone the same annoying calls with hangups as others are reporting. Called back and no answer, same as others. Soooo, I assigned the phone number to a new contact on my phone. I named the contact SPAM and then set the ringtone to "No Ring".

I also blocked the number from my work phone system, which, thankfully, has that option. For those getting these calls at work and don't have access to your phone system: email your IT department and have them block the number, as it should be fairly easy for work phone systems.

For those getting these calls on a landline that doesn't have blocking/ringtone choices, toss that old rotary phone (yes, I know it still works fine after fifty years) and get one that allows you to block numbers. :-)
