got a call twice tonight...same story as below...

Phone rang once and nothing showed up on caller ID so I dialed *69 and got this number.

Missed call on work phone from 5/23/2011 at 3 pm. No message. After reading the comments below, I called it back and got "this number is not in service."

This came in on my work phone at 7pm PT. No message just a missed call. Apparently they are still at it!

Really annoying, just showed up on my phone as a missed call from Google Voice, didn't even ring. How is this number still active??????

If they are targeting Internet phones.... can they possibly be hacking into our computer stealing data information? Is that even possible? Kinda concerns me. My phone rang a good amount of time... not just once, but I didn't answer because I was still sleeping.

I got a call from 973-360-2026. I wasn't home & they didn't leave a message and I consider that to be rather obnoxious in and of itself. If they call back and if I answer and actually manage to get someone on the phone I will tell them to go somewhere and go do something with themselves, ...especially considering the sheer number of negative comments that I have found about the company apparently responsible - Kushner comp - and the various numbers that they call from!

I suggest everyone else do the same!

Got a call in the afternoon from this number. One ring only. No info on my caller ID other than the number. Calling folks on a massive scale like this is obnoxious.

These people are just gathering telephone # data to sell to others. If you answer, you get on their list and will get many more calls from the scumball spammers that they sell info to.

I just got a call at midnight. Luckily I was up, or I would have been awakened by this nuisance. It just rang once.

I don't know much about this stuff but to me, does not make sense for so many calls reported from a number that is disconnected and no messages being left and calling randomly, seems to be computer dialer, could that be virus related? in this case they are reaching IP phone service, NP NL most likely to be temporary but if it is being shared with telemarketers and spammers, I would like to know who it is that is selling or releasing that information.


Also, I'm wondering about dates of these complaints going back to 2007 and whether or not consumeraffairs.com
should investigate this as a complaint. (?)

Are the id theft and telemarketing restrictions still in place, I mean how can you protect against or block a number that is disconnected and will not leave a message or does anyone care that some people still pay for incoming calls anymore,
or what.....

Anyone have ideas?

I received call Thursday April 23 on 973 360-2026. Caller ID said Kushner comp. When I picked up the phone no one answer. It happened twice. when I called back on this number, it said disconnected.

This was on my work caller ID in Phornix, AZ from Saturday, November 15th when I was not at work. No phone message was left, so must NOT be important.

This number (973-360-2026)has been attributed to Kushner Companies. This number DOES NOT BELONG to this company.It has not belonged to them since August of 2002. The annoyance calls that have been made from this number have been made from something called a "PREDICTIVE DIALER" and is currently being investigated by Verizon. If you receive calls from this number please contact the New Jersey Business Unlawful Call Center at 800-518-5507. Please cooperate with this investigation and bring whomever is responsible for these annoying calls to justice.

Received a call at my work land line, which shouldn't be called direct often. No Caller ID.

Just got this call at work. Whoever it was hung up mid ring. I thought it was weird because we have caller ID here at work and I know who has my number as it is a special number. I thought it was maybe one of my friends. I called back but got a busy signal the first time. It wasn't your normal busy signal but one where someone unplugged the phone or the place just went out of business and the phone company didn't set up the message in time. The next time I called back, I kept getting a voice recorded operator saying the call cannot be completed as dialed. I called back three more times and got the same message. Spooky and Weird man!!!

these people had not called us in a while but they tried to call today... we are blocking that number though so hopefully they will think they got a bad number and won't try again.

Received a call from this number, called them back and they said they hadn't called me and that if i looked on the caller id there would be several other numbers listed that might have called me. I did this and he was wrong. what's going on here?

Phone rang one time at 1:51 pm. Only the number showed on called ID, no name.

Got a call on 8/13/07. We block this number from coming through though so I don't have any more details.

They did this before a few months back which is when we started blocking it. Then they stopped for a while.

Maybe if everyone would report and block callers like this people would stop wasting there time? Yeah probably not.

Makes me think it is most likely someone off-shore doing some spoofing for one reason or another. Difficult to track and control. Obviously is is very unlikely legitimate.

I received a call from this phone number at 4:30pm today (8/14/07). I live in NY state. The phone only rang once. I looked it up on ussearch.com and it's apperantly a number from Madison, NY and the carrier is Verizon.

I answered a call from Kushner once because it kept showing up on my ID and it was somebody selling vacations. They asked when the last time we went on vacation and I just said that we were not interested and to please remove us from their list. Now today I get this call with this number but it's listed unavailable and I see from previous postings Kushner and I figure it's another sales call. Makes me mad because my vonage number is unlisted.

Half a ring at 7:15pm EST. *69 gives disconnected message. My line is unlisted VoIP, not Vonage.

I received this call on my buisness line. I have an automated answering service, but it did not pick up this call for some reason. The phone probably rung 12 times, although I have it set to ring 4 times then pick up.

Step, I totally agree that pranking and identity theft are not funny, those criminals should be in jail. I was just having fun with the conspiracy side, when I read through all the comments they were kindof boring and nobody had any answers, I was just spicing it up a bit. Sorry about everything that happened to you!

Its not funny as it has happened more times than I can count! These people have harassed me when I've answered and when I've called back. I have friends in the area that will sometimes call from different phones so I answer these. I had my home number changed and unlisted and almost had my cell changed.

I have recieved phone calls from this individual on both my cell phone and unlisted home phone. When I answer they hang up, and when I call back, they call me a crazy @#$*& and tell me I must be dreaming if I thought they'd call me. Its good to see I'm not the only one!

I think Dan has the right idea, reminds me of an email I got once that said please delete, then afterwards I started getting copious amounts of junkmail. I wonder if this number knows we are on to it and that their is a website for it. I read every comment for clues but everybody is just guessing. Roadtrip anyone? Actually called me yesterday, 2to3PM-ish eastern. Wanted to think it out and read others. The geographic spread (as well as unlisted, work, and cell-phone contacts)would suggest no specific target. But I bet you can set up an auto-dialer to just rip through every possible area code and number combination, record those where an actual connection is made, and then provide those lists for sale to companies looking for numbers in a specific area code.

My Thoughts..,My unlisted landline phone rang three times. By the time I got to the phone, the caller had hung up. Normally, my caller ID would display the caller as "Kushner Comp". This displayed in capital letters as "KUSHNER COMP". The phone number was "1973-360-2031". Puzzled by the call, I checked with a local teenager that is my expert on the "dark side of the www". He recognized the name, saying its rumored to be a Health Care Provider that has an automated caller system, which displays KUSHNER to protect your privacy. It calls their customers, asks a specific question concerning your coverage or status. You are instructed to respond with a 1 for yes and 2 for no. It then thanks you and hangs up. If you call the number back from your phone, without blocking your phone number, it is supposed to recognize your account from the caller ID, pull up the question and take your response. However, if your caller ID comes up to the computer as UNAVAILABLE or BLOCKED, it will either not answer or give you a disconnected message. The Kid says it could be legit or someone "phishing" for information... Anyone aware of a Health Care provider located in Madison, NJ. (Zipcode 07940)? I will stay tuned for more clues as this develops.

Ok, even weirder for me. Got to work & saw missed call on phone. Checked it and call came in Sunday. Then about 20 minutes later, got the same call from this same number on my cell phone! Didn't answer it. Called number back & it was disconnected. This is too weird!

Since this call originated from New Jersey, and Im on a Do Not Call list, I sent New Jersey State Police (hi tech unit)hitech@gw.njsp.org an inquiry as to the legality of this.

Suspect it could also be an attempted spam fax, which is illegal where I am in the state of Nevada.

I received a call from this number while I was on another business call. I got no voicemail, but called back from my "missed calls" directory. I received a recording that said the number was disconnected. The Caller ID showed the number listed. When I looked it up on Google I found this site.

I received call from 973-360-2026 at December 14th 2006 @ 1:06pm. No Voice Mail left and when I called back the operator error message came on.

I was advised of this call by my company's integrated phone/e-mail system, which does not provide any information about external callers beyond their number. The call arrived at 4:33 PM PST. I was not available to answer, and the caller left no message.

Aye... got me as well. My friend was at my house, I was away... freaked him out. Probably someone playing around with the phone system, making random calls, that are then returned, finding something along the lines of a trunk line, which gives you jack.
