John from "Giant Operating" 972-607-4300 XT 243, asked for our CEO by name.

Got the same call. Left a message with my Exec Admin. Found this and thought it was worth sharing about this great opportunity company:

"Irving energy firm execs facing extortion charges"

bizjournals.com

Maybe its a coincidence maybe they had a bad day or maybe smoke leads to fire

Caller identified himself as Chris with Giant Operating, asked to speak with our company president. Gave a call back number of 972-607-4300 ext. 248. Cold Call - couldn't even pronounce the president's last name correctly.

Chris called regarding a project ext. 248. no good reason to call him back after checking this site.

boiler room investment telemarketers selling oil exploration - buy COP, Suncor or Chesapeake Oil instead and let these clowns steal someone else money. Pay NO attention to the success posts on this site - they are surely plants from Giant.

Jim - Nice try. A profitable oil exploration company doesn't need telemarketers, and I found the numerous callers to be neither professional nor informative. When "Doug Weaver" called yesterday and asked for our president, I said he was out of the office. He hung up on me. This has happened several times. The callers are always pushy, unforthcoming, and rude. An honest company doesn't do business this way, Jim.

I received a call from Giant Operating. I spoke with an man there who was a vice president, I found him to be very professional and very informative. I took the investment package and made the investment. The 8 well project has been everything and more that they said it would be. My experience with Giant has been very rewarding. They seem to be one of the few honest oil exploration companies left.

Bill Malone called from the Giant Operating Co. promising they'd send a check once a month if I invested and I'd have my money back in X months...although there is some risk, there's a huge upside. Apparently they've struck black gold, Texas Tea in 8 well in the Pyramid Basin of New Mexico (can't find that on Google).
He says he got my name from a list I'm on of people interested in investing in oil exploration (funny, a few months ago a guy from Western Oil (?) said the same thing...I wonder what list this is since I do not invest in anything speculative beyond real stocks). I am a COO/President of a small company.

Almost same exact experience as DB: James Taylor called asking for my boss, I told him he was traveling. JT asked to leave a voicemail and I told him that I'd take the message but would not forward him to voicemail. He gave the usual about having a package to send but needed a question answered before sending it. I said if it was an institutional matter, sure I could answer the question and he said it was a personal matter, not urgent. I asked who he represented and he said "Giant Oil and Gas". I work in an institution that employs over 3000 people, so when some guy calls and asks for the President directly, I always suspect that they're the last people who actually have any business talking to him. It's ridiculous to think that we're going to be so curious and enchanted at the notion of receiving a "package" from someone who's not at all forthcoming about the nature of their call, that we'll take whatever bait they're selling. Who thinks of this crap?

Received a call from James Taylor (x. 236) of Giant Oil & Gas. Tried to get more info out of him (my boss is on vacation) but wouldn't budge - said it was personal and that he needed to speak to my boss directly before sending a packet of material out. When I told him my boss was on a mountain top in Costa Rica (honestly) and that he wouldn't be returning for another month, he got huffy and said the phone system worked just fine in Costa Rica and that he didn't care where the return phone call came from.

This company calls to see if they can list your business for sell.

Chad left a message to call him at "Giant" with no more information. Figuring it was a sales call, I called and asked the receptionist what they do - she indicated they are involved in oil and petroleum exploration, and I thanked her and hung up.

Said that they heard that I handled information on projects and wanted to talk with me before sending the project over. Do they not think that I know what projects I am working on?? Don't bother.

Our company is in construction. Shawn left a message stating ;he had some work in our area but wanted to talk to ----- before sending out any material\'. Just another SCAM company leaving a BS message trying to get you to call back so they can try to sell something.
If a company can\'t leave a REAL message about who they are & why they are calling ignore them!

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
