Who Called Us

This is a scam operation posing as a charity. My wife made a donation over the phone once and now they will not leave us alone. They will also change the name of the charity they supposably represent to get money from you.

STOP CALLING ME FOR $$$$ for donations

This is apparantly yet another new number for the telemarketers who use the name "Texas State Troopers Association." The Attorney general of Texas has investigated this operation, and the Dallas Morning News has run some articles about them. The "Association" says that they support charitable needs of State Troopers and their families, such as catastrophic medical care. The truth is that only a tiny amount of money ever reaches the troopers' families. The real income from this operation goes right into the pockets of the people who own the telemarketing business. Attorney General and Morning News both revealed it as a scam.

Do not pick up the phone or your number will be recorded as a good number.

Get a cop and pay these people a visit and you just might be surprised to find out ( if you can locate the office to where the calls are coming from ) that this is not the Texas State Troopers Association. Give them money and you may wake up one morning to find a bank account and/or your credit cards cleaned out. When you answer the phone they don't say anything. They just stay on the line.

They call me almost on a daily basis and sometimes 2 or more times a day, Ihave told them I'm not interested as we give thru my husbands job, the calls all this past week showed SAI but whenI answered noone was on the line.

They call our house at least 10 times a day and when you answer there's nobody there. You can call the number back, but it's just a recording or answering machine.

Good to know it's a scam, but it's still irritating.

This guy was incredibly rude which made me suspect that he wasn't with a charitable organization.

The DNC list does not include charities, they are allowed to call, but should take you off thier list or stop calling when requested. From what I've read here, this isn't happening (surprise, surprise)

I reported them to the police. Told them they are a scam and saying they are representing the state troopers association. I also call the 512 number to try to get to the bottom of it. they are rude.don't bother with them. report it to the police! call the non-emergency number and tell them right away this is a scam on the texas troopers.block your number if you have call block.maybe if the police get involved it will stop.

called saturday morning and then saturday afternoon. no one is there to take your call. you can leave a message.if you have call block then block the call. just a scam saying its a fund raiser but does not say which one.they also hung up.
I am going to report the number to the federal trade commission. I may even call them.

B.C.S. TX does the no call list hinder anything?

They must not be very interested in raising funds as the other comments indicate. When I answered they hung up.

These folks are in Denton, TX and have no association with he Texas State Troopers Association. I know an employee and this is a huge SCAM! The person who works for these bottom feeders hokes about how he pushes the "pitch" without allowing the person called to have time to think about who is rally calling.

DO NO ANSWER THE CALL. Predictive dialers will authenticate your number if you answer and will continue to call your number from now on. The list will also be sold as known good numbers to a host of telemaketers so your phone will ring off the wall.

Hope this helps. No bother to report to the AG, FCC or FTC, will not do any good. These agencies do not have the staff to run these complaint down. he only thing you can do is NO ANSWER.

I believe The State Troopers do not recomend donating to this charity - business rip off because they keep most of the money collected and only give the Troopers Asoc. a ridiculous tiny fraction of the donations. Do not fall for it.

Sorry Bud they are not legit , they are NOT non-profit !!! - they make false statements to lure you in . I did report to FTC.I Have relatives that are state troopers and they say the same thing - Stay away !!!

I assume saying they represent the state of texas when they called is unlawful. I also am guessing this person is giving a very small percentage to a state trooper or the association to make a claim of process. Crooks are crooks regaurdless in my book as it is deception.

NEVER GIVE DONATIONS OR PLEDGES OVER THE PHONE. I worked for a telemarketing fundraiser and if you give or pledge over the phone the vast majority of the money goes to the telemarketing company instead of the charity you're trying to support. I hate SAI now - My sleep keeps getting interrupted and they don't even speak to me, they just hang up.

Got a call the other night from these people. I told the rude man, "How do you know my family member isn't a state trooper?" He hung up immediately. I guess I scared him, lol.

No message left - I am on DNC - I reported to FTC and Attny General - This is illegal - they CANNOT call you if you are on DNC. Sleezebags !!!!!!!!!

They got me on my fax number! I just had my name removed AGAIN today! Thanks for all this info.

Getting lots of calls from this number. No one ever says anything when I answer, they just hang up, and voicemail is full when I call the number back. They never leave messages, and it has become such an issue that I am changing my home phone number just because of them. I screen every call now, friends and family call my cell now cuz they know I don't answer my home phone anymore because of these jerks. They have made things very stressful for my family with the non-stop calling, sometimes starting in the early a.m. and going 'til as late as 8 or 9 in the evening. Some days there is a call from them about evey 5-15 minutes, going all day long, and I don't have call blocking, but I'm gettiong it with my new plan. I don't know what else to do about it, hopefully they don't get my new number.

I just called the state trooper association in Austin at 512) 450-1814. They can remove you from the call list. I also told the lady that the people are very rude and make you not want to give to the state troopers and that they are harrassing people by calling numerous times per day day after day. I was assured I would get no more calls from them.

Let the fool calling know that I was on the DO NOT CALL List and my number was removed from their list as I requested when I called S.A.I awhile back when I located their number on the internet.

They are calling my house four and five times per day. Never when I am here. I called the number back and got a message from the "fund raising" office.
Sounds like a boiler room to me. Naturally the message machine or voice mail inbox is full. Probably with messages left by other
annoyed Texans on the DO NOT CALL list.

They have called twice today... both times nobody answers and the phone hangs up after about 15 seconds.

I called S.A.I at 800-323-7601 and let them know I was on the DO NOT CALL List and wanted my name removed from their list. I located S.A.I. on the internet and got their phone number and contacted them. They were unaware of the situation and my number could not be removed because it was not there. They have no record of the 972-530-7216 that is using S.A.I as their caller ID. I told them to Google it. Complaints are coming in.
